Well , we are going to talk about an experience that we
0:02
just had in Vegas , about a week and a half
0:04
ago , that we are very thankful for . That's really what
0:06
the episode is about People knowing us for
0:08
cleaning business and we got flewed
0:10
out or axed to
0:13
come to Vegas to speak with
0:15
Jobber . Can you explain what Jobber is ? For
0:17
some people that may be like . What is that ?
0:19
Yeah , so we were invited to speak
0:21
on their podcast called Masters
0:24
of .
0:25
Home Services Got a hat back here .
0:28
And Jabra essentially is a customer
0:31
relationship management system , one of the
0:33
largest platforms in
0:35
the local service business space .
0:37
One for them to even consider us was also
0:39
inside , like you know what made you think
0:41
about us ? Obviously there's other cleaning business
0:43
people out there . Obviously
0:49
there's other people in the local service business , and I think
0:51
this was was their third season that they're recording for if I'm not mistaken
0:53
. So I think that that feeling it felt
0:55
good to be recognized because technically
0:58
, you know , we hear sometimes , sometimes
1:00
not all the time , from students a progress
1:02
that they've made from the course that we put out
1:04
, but it feels like they are are
1:07
.
1:07
These are people who are masters at their craft , masters
1:09
at the very highest level , um , whether
1:11
it be any local service business . So it was
1:13
truly humbling to be considered for
1:16
a platform where they're only talking to the top of the top
1:18
, um , masters now I'm not saying we're the
1:20
best or the only , but to be
1:22
even mentioned in the same
1:24
room as other people , which is absolutely amazing
1:27
. So that would be number one . Number two
1:29
there are talented people in this world
1:31
and everyone has the ability to do what they're good
1:33
at , and I say so many pieces had to come together
1:35
to make that experience happen .
1:37
While we were there , we met other people . We met someone
1:39
in the window washing industry in
1:41
like the tri-state area of New York , new Jersey
1:43
. We met someone that had a lawn
1:45
Roofing Roofing . So it really was
1:48
interesting because we always say this
1:50
business model can work in any business , any
1:52
service-based business , and so we just went
1:54
out for fellowship tacos
1:56
and just had conversations around what
1:58
are you doing in your business ? And oh
2:00
, wow , didn't think about that and what am I doing in my
2:03
business ? And
2:05
that part of it is truly because when we speak , you know , factually
2:08
we've had , we've had coaches , mindset
2:10
coaches , you know we've had people that coach
2:12
us on the coaching side of it . But really , when
2:14
it comes to the business specific
2:17
side of a local service business , we
2:19
haven't really had people that we've had consistently
2:22
. So this also feels like it just
2:24
opens that door to have those conversations
2:26
with people about
2:28
what we're actually doing in this
2:31
side of the business , because you know we have multiple business in
2:33
this side of the business . When it comes to our
2:35
cleaning business specifically , it
2:37
opens those doors for us , which then
2:39
can open those doors for our students
2:42
, for the knowledge that we get and we decide
2:44
to pass on as well . And so number three
2:46
, timing . And we say
2:48
only God , like God , really planned this , the
2:50
event was not going to happen . If this did not
2:52
happen , if they didn't ask us to come out on this specific
2:55
week .
2:56
The eclipse made this happen .
2:58
The eclipse made this happen . Jabra made
3:00
this happen Simply because , if
3:02
you don't know , we're from New York but we live
3:04
in Dallas . We don't really have any family
3:07
here with us , and so
3:09
now we don't have our full-time nanny . We use
3:11
babysitters , which means we're not comfortable
3:13
with our daughter staying with them overnight , even
3:15
if they can do that , but not at this time . She's
3:18
in school . We wouldn't be able to bring
3:20
her , not because of school , because If , when
3:22
we were recording the podcast , who's going to be watching her
3:24
, that was the biggest thing . Like what is she going to be doing
3:26
? So it was a matter of figuring out
3:29
if we had anyone that could
3:31
come down to stay with
3:33
her while we went
3:35
to Vegas to do this recording . And
3:37
one of my friends wasn't able
3:40
to do it work reasons and so we're
3:42
like we're about to have to tell them no , first
3:44
opportunity where things are getting paper . We're like , oh , we're about to have to tell them no , first opportunity
3:46
where things are getting paper . Like , oh , we're about to have to tell them no . And then realized
3:49
that my godmother and her
3:51
sons were coming down for the solar eclipse . So
3:54
we were like really in passing
3:56
of each other . We were in Vegas Sunday
3:58
to Tuesday . She was in town Sunday
4:00
to Tuesday Between
4:02
working her schedule of the plan
4:04
she had with solar eclipse
4:06
, I'm sorry and the babysitters getting
4:08
involved helping to pick her up from school . That's
4:12
what made this possible . And once again
4:14
we said only God made this happen
4:17
on this week , because if
4:19
it was any other week the answer would have been no
4:21
, we can't make it Absolutely , basically
4:24
. Or we could make it , but somebody got to watch the child
4:26
outside of the studio and she's
4:28
going to cry .
4:28
I mean maybe that would
4:30
have worked , because it would have been an hour
4:33
or so . I mean looking back , it probably
4:35
could have worked , just hang out .
4:36
Because there's no sound . You can't hear it .
4:37
You can't hear the sound . Looking back , it might have worked . We
4:40
could have probably pulled it up .
4:41
Okay .
4:47
Luckily for us , the the solar eclipse happened and , you know , with the family coming down , we were able
4:49
to make it happen . But also there was one , there was one gem about the solar eclipse that
4:51
I don't even think about . Um , this actually
4:53
happened in church the other day when
4:55
they were talking about everyone was , everyone
4:57
was focused on this solar eclipse . Right , they
4:59
were planning for it , like your family came
5:02
down , they were prepared for it , and
5:04
some people were like you know what ? You know what happened
5:06
, is it happens ? They was were talking about the different perspectives of
5:08
that event happening . There were people who planned
5:11
the entire year around being in the right
5:13
place , which was Dallas .
5:13
Texas For years , because they knew from six , seven
5:15
years ago where it was going to be .
5:17
Right place , right time . The location your aunt
5:19
literally flew down to be in Dallas , which is going
5:21
to be the epicenter of of it in the US . I
5:23
guess right , and for us it was like
5:25
we didn't really care , we flew out when she mentioned it to
5:27
me .
5:28
I'm like what I never heard of this . She's
5:30
like what ?
5:31
Where are you living ? I didn't know that people planned and they traveled
5:33
and they made things like that and that traffic in Dallas
5:35
was crazy , but we actually flew out . And
5:40
when the eclipse happened it didn't happen the time
5:43
, we didn't know when it happened , we didn't get to experience
5:45
it .
5:45
We saw pictures .
5:46
We were told , like you can't really experience
5:48
what was here , and that's the problem . We were
5:50
talking about the perspective of just being a
5:52
passerby in life . There were people
5:55
who planned for that event , who showed up for the event to
5:57
make sure they were in the right place , right time for an event that happens
5:59
once in a lifetime , or once every , whatever
6:01
the years are , and there were people taking
6:10
in the sites that are around us , right
6:12
. So that was another gem
6:15
about the eclipse .
6:16
So God made the eclipse happen .
6:17
He also made it happen for us to get on that podcast .
6:19
He made it happen for us because , if not , baby
6:21
, but yes , thank you . Thank you , god , as usual
6:23
. The fourth thing that we had when it came to
6:25
the experiences keep sharing your story . We
6:28
were found just by sharing our story on social
6:30
media for the last seven years
6:32
. So , yes , I know , in this day and age
6:34
it may not take you seven years , especially
6:37
with TikTok , people go viral all the time
6:39
, but sometimes they can't remain consistent
6:41
with it , but
6:45
we've been sharing for the past seven years , and so we asked them
6:47
how did you find us ? And she said , well
6:49
, we were looking because there was another cleaning business
6:51
owner there . We didn't get to connect with her , though
6:53
, but she was like we were looking for another
6:56
cleaning business owner . She was like you guys weren't
6:58
hard to find . I like searched
7:00
, put you guys on YouTube and I found you guys right
7:02
away . And we're like , oh , okay , cool
7:04
, because we've been doing this podcast
7:07
for over two years . But it's not like we
7:09
have tons of accolades on
7:11
the podcast and it's always , you
7:13
know , thankful that someone is listening and not an award
7:15
winning podcast . Right , it's not an award winning podcast
7:18
, but that in not yet but we
7:20
know that you guys subscribe , we know that you guys
7:22
write reviews and those are ways that we know that
7:24
someone is listening or based on the downloads and things
7:26
like that . But for them to find us in that
7:28
way , it kind of is like just keep putting it
7:30
out there , it
7:39
don it out there . It don't got to be perfect . If you see our first video , youtube videos from when we started to now
7:41
, and then when we look back in a year or two , so on and so forth , it don't got to be perfect , but the information is is just the same that we're saying , regardless of how it looks
7:43
. So shout out to them for finding us and shout
7:45
out to us for being consistent for seven years on social
7:48
media .
7:48
Yeah , keep sharing your story people . It's funny
7:50
because I just recently posted a video
7:53
one of our first YouTube videos on a podcast
7:55
and it was about us paying off
7:57
our debt , because you realize there are people out there who don't
7:59
even know where you started at . Yeah , and I
8:01
always say , find out more
8:04
about the person where they started versus
8:06
trying to find out where they are today . Where did they start before
8:08
you followed them ? What were they doing before you followed them
8:10
? What were they doing before you bought something from
8:12
them ? Find
8:19
out more about the person , the individual , the family , the coach , whatever it is . Find out what they were
8:21
doing before you decided to work with them so that you can see more of a well-rounded view
8:23
of them so I posted that video and that was one of our
8:25
highest viewed videos , like recently . I was like , oh , this video
8:27
had was was on
8:29
the iphone looking down
8:32
and if you guys are on youtube , we got a three camera
8:35
setup here right now and we have a three camera setup . We got a three camera setup here right now and
8:37
we have a three camera setup .
8:38
We had a one camera set .
8:40
We had an iphone sitting in front of us and
8:42
we're recording a video and I
8:44
really released recently posted that video
8:46
because my friend andre was like yo post
8:48
your old stuff like you never know who's gonna find it
8:50
. So remaining consistent , but then
8:53
also keep sharing your story super important
8:55
, guys , that you never know where it may take
8:57
you . There is some someone out there that's looking to
8:59
find out more about something
9:01
that you know , something that you've gone
9:03
through , something that you've accomplished , something that you've learned
9:06
, but you don't know until you get there . So stop being
9:08
selfish with the information that you have and start
9:10
sharing yeah , I
9:12
agree , just keep sharing your story .
9:14
And the last thing we had here was just , it's
9:17
really mind-blowing of the
9:19
little we say little little idea
9:21
that we had of the cleaning business , how
9:24
, what it's allowed us to do and where
9:26
it's brought us today . Right , we
9:28
would have never considered that when
9:30
we started this back in 2017 about
9:32
six , six and a half , seven years ago that
9:35
we would be on any platform
9:37
first of all let alone this
9:39
platform like Jobber , but any platform
9:41
speaking about the cleaning business , that we
9:44
would be anywhere teaching
9:46
people how to do this and changing their
9:48
life and generational wealth , or that
9:50
we would have rental properties because of this
9:53
, so on and so forth , that we would be traveling the world
9:55
because of it . So , that
9:57
little idea get
10:00
started on it and do
10:02
it as you , as you grow right , a
10:04
lot of times we want it to be perfect before
10:06
we get started and things
10:09
like that . Yes , there may be some things , some foundation
10:11
you want to have or need to have
10:13
in place , but make the mistakes . That's
10:15
part of the process , right , that's part of you
10:17
growing , that's part of the business growing , that's part of you
10:19
learning and that's what helped to bring us
10:21
here today .
10:23
I happy you keep looking at me . No , I was um
10:25
listen to you oh , okay get started , get
10:27
fancy later , don't don't try to
10:29
figure it out all and that's . And that's me just putting
10:31
my own advice out there too , because I think
10:33
at this stage it was a lot easier to get
10:35
started at when we was earlier , because
10:38
it's like nobody's looking and then you
10:40
get some people looking and then you start holding
10:42
back more because you want things to be perfect and it
10:44
kind of slows you down . But I would rather
10:46
you guys , I would rather us do something , take
10:48
the action , figure it out along the way and then
10:50
, if it doesn't work , hey , you go back , you make
10:52
adjustments and you learn as you grow . Some
10:54
people call it building the parachute while
10:57
you jump out the plane . Now I'm not . Let's
11:03
not take that if the plane is , listen don't
11:05
, don't take that I ain't doing that part now , literally
11:08
but that's what they call it building a parachute . You
11:10
know , as you jump out the plane so that you
11:12
are more , you're gonna be more , you're gonna move
11:14
faster , you're gonna react faster , you're gonna make adjustments
11:17
faster when you're out the plane and you're trying to
11:19
figure it out , versus we just sit on a on a
11:21
plane and you've got all the time to build a parachute , how
11:24
are you going to know if it works or not until you jump
11:26
out .
11:27
Let's change this analogy , but we do
11:29
just want to thank Jabba for the opportunity
11:32
and when those podcasts come out , we'll
11:34
be sure to tag it . We'll probably put it on our
11:36
platforms ourselves and to any
11:38
other company that is listening . I think we are great
11:40
candidates to speak on the
11:43
cleaning business and anything else .
11:44
Really , we have a lot that we speak about not just
11:46
the cleaning One episode was mainly about the cleaning
11:48
business and the other was about generation building
11:51
, generation of wealth for your family . Some things we're doing
11:53
for Lonnie and our second kid
11:55
on the way . So one was about
11:57
the cleaning and one wasn't . We can talk about . We talked about marriage
12:00
, talked . We talked about marriage , talked about relationship , talked about all of that stuff
12:02
. So make sure you guys check out our
12:04

12:06
