It is time, it is time, it is
0:07
time to get our minds aligned with the
0:09
truth of God's word. My
0:11
name is Cary Green and I'm going to start out
0:13
here with a story that I'm not sure is even
0:15
going to be very interesting, but it has to do with
0:17
when my wife and I first got married. We've
0:20
been married 35 years this year and
0:22
when we first got married, I was doing a carpet cleaning
0:25
job for a company
0:27
called Coit, C-O-I-T. And
0:30
we always referred to Coit
0:32
hands as the kind
0:34
of hands all of us who worked there
0:36
had because we had to handle hot hoses
0:39
and chemicals and things like that in our
0:41
hands after a while would just get all
0:43
cracked and calloused and hard. And
0:46
it was just a really kind of a unique time
0:48
in my life. And I tell you
0:50
that story to bring up that idea of callousness.
0:52
You know, there were times where after
0:55
a while I could hold a hot hose and
0:57
couldn't even feel it because my hands were so
0:59
calloused. And today in
1:01
Ephesians chapter four, the apostle Paul is
1:03
going to talk to us about
1:05
people whose hearts become calloused
1:08
and what happens to them as a
1:10
result. We're really going to be looking at the
1:12
end, the end result of
1:14
a hard heart or a calloused heart. So
1:16
stick around for that. But before we do, I
1:18
want to acknowledge our daily sponsor for this episode.

1:54
sense for you. Okay,
1:57
friends, before we dig into Ephesians four, once again,
1:59
let's pray. Together. The. God will
2:01
teach us. What he wants us
2:03
to know today. Or
2:06
Lord no dog, we're humble before you
2:08
knowing that you are so good to
2:10
reveal twist the truth of who you
2:12
are and what you think about the
2:14
world and and this passage in particular
2:16
is going to us understand the world
2:19
we live in and were asking Lore
2:21
to show us how to respond to
2:23
that as your people. In. Jesus'
2:25
name he met. With
2:27
a frenzy seasons for seventeen to
2:30
nineteen, Paul has been describing what
2:32
happens to those who harden their
2:34
hearts toward. And Iversen
2:37
a team. He kinda sums it
2:39
up. He says they have become
2:41
callous. And have
2:43
given themselves up to
2:46
sensuality. Greedy to practice
2:48
every kind of impurity.
2:52
The I quite often get people asking
2:54
me flight in the world is going
2:56
on on this planet. What Is all
2:58
this craziness? An evil that I see
3:00
going on all around me. What's happening
3:02
to the world. The. Prince
3:05
I feel like I just need
3:07
to point to two Seasons for
3:09
seventy to ninety. Paul describes this
3:11
digression that happens once people with
3:13
hardened your heart's you know if
3:16
we look at our culture right
3:18
now. There's all kinds
3:20
of people who have given
3:22
themselves up to. Sensuality,
3:25
And all kinds of impurities
3:28
from homosexuality to transvestite is
3:30
them to all these different
3:32
things. This is a giving
3:35
up. Of themselves They
3:37
willingly or going into these places
3:39
into these realms. Because.
3:41
Of the hardness of heart toward got.
3:44
A Please hear me carefully. All right.
3:48
I love transvestites. I.
3:50
love homosexuals i love bisexuals i
3:52
love all these people who want
3:54
to identify as all these different
3:56
types of sexuality i love all
3:58
of them Because my God
4:01
loves them, I want to see them
4:03
receive the greatest gift they could ever
4:05
receive. And part of that gift
4:08
is loving them enough to tell them the
4:10
truth as God reveals it here. That
4:13
the things they are giving themselves up to
4:15
are not going to lead them to satisfaction. It
4:17
is not going to give them a sense
4:19
of purpose and identity. In fact, it
4:21
is going to facilitate more ignorance,
4:23
it is going to facilitate hardening even
4:26
more, they are going
4:28
to eventually wind up where this verse says
4:31
in the practice of every kind
4:33
of impurity. And my
4:35
hope friends is that we as
4:37
believers in Jesus Christ can hold forth the light
4:39
of Jesus for anyone
4:41
and everyone, doesn't matter what their
4:44
particular flavor of sin is. They
4:47
need Jesus just like we do. They have callous
4:49
hearts just like we once did. We
4:52
friends are to be the light and
4:55
not to be taking part in
4:57
these kinds of giving over,
4:59
giving themselves up to the sensuality. We shouldn't
5:01
be condoning it, we shouldn't be
5:03
acknowledging it as normal, we shouldn't
5:06
be people who are
5:08
castigating them and mistreating them
5:10
either. We should be
5:12
like Jesus, a friend of those
5:14
who need the help of God. Lord
5:18
Jesus, teach us how to not
5:20
be affirming of these kinds
5:22
of behavior or identities yet to
5:25
be loving enough to
5:27
care about them, to show them the love
5:29
of Jesus and to invite them to
5:31
become a part of God's family. Lord
5:34
God, you are the answer, you are
5:36
the transforming difference in every human
5:38
life. We ask you to rip
5:41
away the calluses, to soften the hard
5:43
hearts and to bring more and more
5:45
people to yourself. About
6:00
what it means to be a Christian
6:02
and how to become a christian. You.
