Dozens of beaches across Auckland are now unsafe for swimming, after they were swamped with faecal bacteria after the weekend's heavy rain. The council's water quality monitoring website, Safeswim, has issued several high risk alerts, including at Mission Bay, Kohimarama, and Herne Bay.
