In an endeavour to keep the mixtape culture alive and bring it to a new level. Moyma will be putting out podcasts which will feature the best of the underground in genres such as Dubstep, Drum & Bass and Hiphop. The mixes have been made using new digital technologies as well as the older forms or recording - vinyl. His dj influences ranges from club pioneers like Hype, Kenny Ken, LTJ Bukem, Grooverider, Darren Jay, Slipmatt and Andy C. Equally techno legends Jeff Mills and Laurent Garnier influenced Moyma's djing style with their use of scratching within their clubs sets. Moyma sees tune selection as an important part of creating a good mix…but it doesn't stop there. His basis in this art form comes from Hiphop. Djs like Grandmaster Flash, Pogo, Funkmaster Flex, Cash Money, Dj Noize schooled Moyma in the art of selection and using samples and specific sections of songs in a dj mix. A huge change in style and emphasis came when Moyma saw Mixmaster Mike and Dj Qbert in a DMC world final. After that, scratching became an obsession to him. His determination to learn this art form lead him to Los Angeles where he spent some time under the guidance of Beat Junkies crew member and Low End Theory resident Dj Dstyles. Each Moyma podcast mix will have the best talent in bass music: Noisia, Spor, Icicle, Alix Perez, The Upbeats, Breakage, Burial, Kryptics Minds, Marco Polo, Nosaj Thing, Jay Dilla, Slum Village...and more. 'The podcasts should all be an interesting journey. In some parts of a mix I have up to 3 tunes running at the same time, I add scratches on top but Its all about the whole sound not just the scratching. I try and get choose tunes that work well together in the mix and i want people to get caught up in how the tunes flow together. It is all about introducing new artists and music to the listening world in a way they gets them curious to find out more. Isn't that the role of a Dj?' - Moyma
