Mike Mulligan and David Haugh opened their show by conducting the daily 5 at 5 segment, which began with a discussion about whether Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky -- who was selected ahead of Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes in 2017 -- would be better, worse or the same if he was selected by the Texans or the Chiefs. The guys then had a discussion about the Cubs' interview with former catcher and current front office special assistant David Ross. The interview with Ross on Thursday reportedly lasted four hours, about half as long as their interview with Joe Girardi on Wednesday. Does the difference in interview length indicate anything? The morning also crew discussed the White Sox's hiring of Frank Menechino as their hitting coach. Menechio spent 2019 as the hitting coach for the team's Triple-A affiliate in Charlotte. Later, the guys previewed the the Astros-Yankees and Cardinals-Nationals matchups in the League Championship Series before debating whether the Bulls' point guard competition is over or just getting started.
