Blunderbolts?Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts has suffered another setback as Variety is reporting that Steven Yeun has exited the project. While The Walking Dead and Invincible star was never officially confirmed to be in the film by Marvel, he was heavily rumored to be playing the role of The Sentry. Said rumors culminated recently when Yeun’s frequent collaborator Robert Kirkman seemingly ousted the casting news during a YouTube live stream. Additionally, Yeun himself commented on his departure, citing scheduling conflicts and a desire to reteam with Marvel on a future project.

Joke’s On You, Jo KoySunday night’s 2024 Golden Globes ceremony marked a memorable occasion for the awards organization. Despite host Jo Koy’s distractingly questionable antics, the first awards ceremony independent of the Hollywood Foreign Press managed to get a lot right, subjectively, in terms of the winners. Barbie saw the most nominations of any film and managed to secure two Golden Globes, while Oppenheimer garnered both the best motion picture in the drama category and directing awards for Nolan. In television, Succession and The Bear were named as the best drama and comedy series, respectively. Winners in the acting category include Lily Gladstone, Paul Giamatti, Emma Stone, Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Allen White, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Ayo Edebiri, Kieran Culkin, Ali Wong, Steven Yeun, and Matthew Macfadyen.

MCU’s Street-Level LegacyThe latest trailer for Marvel Studios’ Echo Disney Plus series has set the internet fandom ablaze as it seemingly officially canonized Netflix’s Daredevil within the MCU. The trailer serves to emphasize the return of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk to his rightful place as the criminal underworld’s Kingpin and features black and white archival footage of the character from the Netflix’s series’ first season. Echo is now available to stream in its entirety at the time of this recording, but how do we feel about this confirmation? Does it hold water and if so, what’s the impact for Marvel’s onscreen street level heroes going forward or looking back?Mando and Grogu Hit the Big TimeStar Wars fans, rejoice! A new movie is headed to theaters featuring everyone’s favorite lone wolf and cub duo in a Jon Favreau-helmed film called The Mandalorian and Grogu. With production beginning this year, Favreau was quoted as being “extremely excited” to bring the stories he has created with Dave Filoni and Kathleen Kennedy to theatrical screens with Kennedy saying it’s a “perfect fit”. The Mandalorian tv show opened up a new era of Star Wars with new characters, bringing animated characters to live action, and expanding the world of Star Wars in general. The article on the Star Wars website also confirmed Ahsoka Season 2.
