Tonight’s guest is a New England native that is really lighting up our pop music scene.  She started playing the piano at 6, was writing her own songs by age 12, and then found herself in a metal band that was started at a talent show in High School.  That passion for music would take her to Berklee College of Music where she finished Cum Laude and graduated in just two years.  Her first EP, “Can’t Refuse,” was released shortly after graduation in 2016, and was a tribute to much of the folk influences from her time in college.  After a series of singles, she released her newest album last month (which is actually called, “Self Titled”).  We get to see her pop side with that album, and how she feels about all her past relationships.  She has been interviewed in countless music publications, featured on 95.5 WBRU and on John Shea’s show for indie artists called, Almost Famous, on 95.9 WATD, and she has either won or been the finalist in several New England music competitions and award shows.  It seems like she is always playing a live show somewhere in New England so you have no excuse for not seeing her play.Huge thanks to Lainey for taking time out of her busy live show/album release schedule to come on the show!

I am also super thankful for her playlist suggestion of “Favorite Female Artists” for this week.  Aside from the stats that are out there about just how much females are underrepresented in the music industry, she has a couple of quick stories that paint a pretty good picture of the issue.
