Localmusic charity, Musicians Making A Difference (MMAD), is releasing its firstever National Youth Week Album featuringmusicians from the Australian music industry & young people’s songs fromaround Australia. The CD will be launched on April 4th to celebrate ofthis year’s National Youth Week – 4-13 April 2014.

 

Allsongs reflect the theme “Our Voice, Our Impact” and MMAD is encouraging allyoung people to get a hold of the CD over youth week and even submit your trackfor next years release.

 

Thedouble album, which will be available as a free download from Friday 4 April,will include inspiring tracks from the Australian music industry. Some artistsinclude L FRESH, Kid Mac, Brothablack, Joe Coffee, Mistery, Ministry Of MMAD and more. The 2nddisc will include young people from all over Australia including the CollieCrew from remote community Collarenebri in northern NSW. The aim of the CD isto give young people a voice as well as inspire young people through music.

 

Anumber of MMAD celebrity supporters have provided shout outs on the albumincluding Bliss N Eso, Prinnie Stevens, Justice Crew, Naughty ByNature, Timomatic and Kelly Rowland. The MMAD youth week site also includes usefulinformation about other cool creative services across Australia and will giveyoung people the opportunity to share their story and make suggestions forpositive change.  The CD has beenmade possible by the support of UnLtd, Vodafone Foundation, AustralianInstitute of Music & APRA

 

Dominic Brook, CEO of MMAD, said: “We want to inspire young people tofind their unique voice through this project, and also to help make other youngpeople aware of their potential to creative positive change in their worldthrough music.”

 

MMAD ambassador, Prinnie Stevens, adds: “MMAD is a very inspirationalorganisation and really uses music to empower young people to find their fullpotential.”

 

MMAD is a charity organisation which aims to transformthe lives of young people through music, dance and mentoring, especially thosewho may be homeless, traumatised or underachieving in life. MMAD runs over1,200 free music and dance programs reaching over 20,000 young people inspiringthem to reach their full potential. Programs are held in Brisbane, CentralCoast and Sydney. MMAD also wishes to start programs in Melbourne in the nearfuture.

 

Maddie, a young girl who came through MMAD programsand features on the CD said “ MMAD has helped and inspired me to transform mylife, I was really depressed and doing some really bad things but through theirsupport I have been able to make some really powerful and positive choices.
