On this podcast, she shares experiences and strategies that helped her build confidence beyond language.
About the Speaker
Daisy was once isolated, pigeonholed and even barely finding anyone to practice English with after moving to Melbourne in 2015. Her experience created the illusion that things would get better only if her English was better. Over time, she spoke better English but still struggled to build real connections among many contacts, which cost her countless opportunities. She realized she must work on something other than the English language. Emerging from her challenges, as the pioneering Founder and Author of Multilingual Connectors, Daisy enables non-native (English) speakers to maximise their unique advantages to build meaningful connections across cultures. From a shy and unconfident Chinese international student to a multi-award-winning mentor, author, TEDx speaker and community leader, Daisy walks the talk in her award-winning book ‘Multilingual Connectors where self-mastery goes above language mastery and all else. She was named Sydney Build Construction Idol, Top 100 Women in Construction Finalist of the Australian Professionals of Colour Community Champion of the Year Award in 2023 and Finalist for the 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards VIC 2024.
