In this episode, we will be talking about Why Depending on HBCU Schools to Teach You About Black History is a False Stereotype. As a young Afro-Caribbean girl, I know the struggles of going to a school where there is not a lot of diversity in persons and academic subjects. I believe this is the real benefit of attending a historically black college and universities is having an all-around education with a combination of African American studies. However, should this be your only reason for attending an HBCU? I do not attend an HBCU school, however, that does not mean my overall outlook on African American history is not knowledgeable. Nonetheless, for some of us attending an HBCU is another way to learn more about Black History, but should you depend on your education to educate you on your heritage?
