The population of English language learners is rising dramatically, but our principals and teachers are not adequately prepared to handle the increase. In this segment we discuss strategies for preparing administrators and teachers.

Maureen Keithley joined the WIDA Consortium five years ago from the Kentucky Department of Education where she served as a Title III - LEP/Immigrant Consultant. Her prior experience as a mainstream teacher, ESL teacher, district Title III coordinator and at the state education agency equips Maureen to have a multi-dimensional approach when providing professional development, technical assistance and consulting to WIDA state and territories. She is a National Board Certified Teacher.
