Natural Drift: Dharma for Bedtime and Morning
Natural Drift: Dharma for Bedtime and Morning
I have noticed that many meditative insights are easily lost in the tide of newly arising and passing moments. The reflective capacity of the mind can be hindered by the body’s natural physiological response to discomfort. In this podcast, I share acronyms that I have composed to recollect wisdom that might have otherwise been unavailable. During meditation, it is common to feel burdened by our busy thoughts. By using acronyms, we can direct the natural thought producing tendency of the mind to reflect upon and reinforce insights that guide us to peace.Meditating with acronyms will not always result in smooth meditation sessions, but they can provide a framework that is easy to remember and available at a moment’s notice. The more an acronym is used, the easier it will be to recall during daily activities, social interactions and meditation. Sometimes, simply dropping words or phrases into a meditation session can have profound effects on the atmosphere of the mind. It is for you to explore which combinations of acronyms work best in the ever-changing climate of the mind.
