Holidays, festivities, traditions, rituals.... they provide us with a sense of normalcy, connection, community and peaceful balance so importantly necessary ESPECIALLY during times of stress like this pandemic. As we ease into another change of season including the election in the US, we can look at celebrations like Halloween to offer us some stability. An important aspect of Halloween- at least how Ive rasied my kids with it- includes the freedom and practice of offering children the opportunities to be empowered with their costumes, where they trick-or-treat at, and the management of the candies they collect... leading to them being able to make healthy decisions for themselves as they grow up rather than being dependent on others to always make their choices.Happy Halloween everyone!
