The gang is back after a long hiatus with a topic that weaves through a lot of other topics: avoidance. We examine avoidance as a control strategy and why we pursue control strategies to begin with. We share our own histories and strategies for avoidance, think about when avoidance is adaptive, and point out that sometimes, parents really just don't understand.
