Now let's talk about the play of the week.

0:02

The pressure to follow up hypnotic and cognac weighing

0:04

heavily on the team. Hypnotic was in

0:06

the cup, blue and ready for the play.

0:09

And boom on Yeho tequila came

0:11

in with a smooth assist to

0:13

hypnotic's tropical fruit finish. Shaken,

0:16

strained, poured. It was green

0:18

and good. The playmaking splash

0:20

shifted the tempo. Another great

0:22

cocktail from the hypnotic team. Every

0:25

season is hypnotic and tequila season. Hypnotic

0:28

liquor barred some Kentucky 17% alcohol

0:30

by volume. Hypnotic reminds you to

0:32

think wisely, drink wisely. Welcome

0:35

to NBA Today presented by

0:37

Levi's. Coming

0:40

up on NBA Today, there was more

0:42

than one stunning loss in the NBA

0:44

last night as Boston's historic blown lead

0:47

revealed cracks in the Celtics formidable foundation

0:49

and the Suns. They lost an absolutely

0:51

crucial game to a Wembley list first.

0:53

So why this might be the worst

0:56

loss of the season for Phoenix Plus,

0:59

even without LeBron, the Lakers, they could have the

1:01

secret sauce to beating the Bucks tonight. We're going

1:03

to go live from Milwaukee. Tell you that recipe.

1:05

NBA Today starts right now. Welcome

1:10

to NBA Today presented by Levi's.

1:12

Kendrick Perkins is beaming in from

1:14

H-town. Brian Winhorse is here, the

1:17

one and only Chinea Gummike. I'm

1:19

Malika Andrews. Last night's slate, it

1:21

had 11 games, but

1:23

two of them, they were pretty stunning losses. I

1:26

think it's hard to overstate just how much of

1:28

a mammoth loss Phoenix had at the hands of

1:30

the victorless San Antonio Spurs. Was it the worst

1:32

loss of the season here, Brian? It might

1:34

be one of the worst losses in the NBA this year. All

1:37

right. We're going to get to all

1:39

of that. But Phoenix has lost to

1:41

San Antonio three times already. Only 19% of

1:44

the Spurs wins this year. Yeah, 19% of the Spurs wins. So

1:48

maybe that wasn't so shocking. But today, what happened

1:50

to the Celtics last night? In

1:52

the end, I mean, that was

1:54

a stutter. So the first-seated Celtics taking on

1:56

the 10th-seated Hawks. So Celtics get up

1:58

to a huge lose. We're going

2:00

to pick it up in the middle, and the second quarter,

2:03

the Celtics up 65-38. A

2:05

war card, hook it up to three. Can't quite

2:07

get a scope. You know what? Pick one more

2:09

shot at that, Al. Oh, yes. He still

2:11

got it. That's the buses, right? No one. Yeah.

2:15

A little conversation here with the referees going

2:17

back and forth. The third quarter, though, a

2:19

few minutes into the third, the Hawks all

2:21

of a sudden, they're making this a little

2:23

bit interesting here. Celtics the other way, can't get

2:25

that one to go. Hawks getting

2:27

out in transition here, Sinead. And all of a

2:29

sudden, we have an interesting game. Yeah. The

2:32

starting five really showed up for the Hawks. And what

2:34

you see is that they chip away, chip away, chip

2:36

away, until they realize they actually have a chance, and

2:38

that's when they did their most damage. So you've been in this

2:40

position, not me, but should Jason Kay to be moving a little

2:42

more on that possession? A lot more,

2:44

because anticipating that pass, he could have

2:46

had an easier look inside, but he

2:49

settled for the three-story of the Celtics'

2:51

life. And fans,

2:53

obviously rolling around on the ground

2:55

there. All right, going

2:57

ahead to the fourth quarter here. I

3:00

enjoyed the pink sweater as well. Jason

3:03

Tatum throws it down with authority to give

3:05

the Celtics back the lead here in the

3:07

waning minutes of the fourth quarter. But would

3:10

it be quite enough? Well,

3:12

the Atlanta Hawks, now down by two.

3:15

What goes the number of times the

3:17

ball moves here on this possession? Check

3:20

time and score, Sinead. Would you like to score? Check

3:22

time out. Thank you. Also, their

3:25

defense is fully set up. Great help rotation

3:27

right there, staying on the nail. And then

3:29

now they get an even easier look on

3:31

the other end. All

3:33

of a sudden, Atlanta takes the lead with

3:35

a minute 35 left to go here. Atlanta

3:37

up by one. Still two timeouts for Joe Missoula.

3:39

Still two timeouts. I'm going to go to 116

3:41

there. You can still see it. Joe Brown has

3:43

the ball. Jason Tatum getting tied up a little

3:45

bit in traffic here. Or Zinga is trying to

3:48

make something happen. Not a lot

3:50

of passes once again here, Sinead. I saw a

3:52

ball. And that's been their kryptonite down the stretch.

3:55

They rely on isolation at the start of

3:57

games. But the biggest question mark is the

3:59

fourth quarter. And they fell for each other

4:01

once again. Yes, they did. Atlanta

4:03

had some questions about Hunter taking the shot, but

4:05

then it went in and it was all great. You

4:08

look at the look kind of around the crowd, like,

4:10

oh, look at it. No, no, no,

4:12

no, no, no, no. Yes, yes, yes, yes. OK,

4:14

we're actually good. Here's

4:16

Jason Tatum after this brutal walk.

4:21

I mean, it's tough. You know, whenever you can

4:23

replay, you know, for us, we never like, people

4:25

think we never should lose. And,

4:28

you know, we was up a lot. And

4:30

we kind of we put the game up. And

4:33

we know that we all are the those in the professionals. And

4:35

we know we didn't do the things necessary

4:38

to win. And

4:41

I think that's sometimes easier to fix. You

4:44

know, if you do the right things and play

4:46

the right way, we're supposed to. We

4:48

know usually what the outcome is going to be. OK,

4:51

so here's the deal. The Celtics were up

4:54

really big. And then they gave it all

4:56

away. The 30-point flow lead is the largest

4:58

team in the play-by-play era, which in case

5:00

you didn't know, goes back nearly 30 seasons.

5:02

This is also the second loss of this

5:04

magnitude for the Celtics this month

5:06

alone. They gave up a lead of 22

5:08

in the fourth, remember, to the Cavaliers. That

5:10

was on March 5th. Those are

5:12

their two largest blow leads for the Celtics

5:15

all season long. Clearly, teams don't

5:17

just go up 30 and lose, right? Since tracking began,

5:20

teams that were down by 30 were 5 and 2,600. My

5:24

God. That means they came back less than

5:26

1% of the time, 0.002% of the time. Kendrick

5:31

Perkins, any team can lose

5:33

on any given night. It is just one

5:35

game. I'm not trying to overblow that. But

5:37

this isn't a team that's judged by what

5:40

they do on March 25th. They're judged by

5:42

what they do in April, in May, in

5:44

June. All of that considers how concerning is

5:46

this loss for you? Well,

5:49

number one, let me say, Wendy, I'm

5:51

glad you pointed out Joe Missoula with

5:53

his time out because this has been

5:56

a habit for him, you know, going

5:58

home and watching the movie. eating popcorn

6:00

with two timeouts. He's been taking them

6:02

home for the since he's been the

6:04

head coach and it's been mind boggling

6:06

to me. Number two, right?

6:08

My high school coach used to always say

6:11

before I used to go on my A.

6:13

U trips, hey, per before

6:15

you step on the floor, you never

6:17

know who's watching. And why do I say

6:20

that? Because we're in that time of the

6:22

year right now where you

6:24

never know who's watching. NBA scouts

6:26

are all over the stands because

6:28

teams are gearing up for the

6:30

postseason. And if you're a scout

6:33

and may have to face 14 that

6:35

may have to face the box and

6:37

the East and call at the top

6:39

of your list in the scouting report,

6:41

you're writing vulnerable. They are very vulnerable

6:43

and they shouldn't be at this point.

6:45

Teams should say, you know what? I

6:47

don't know how we could stop them.

6:50

You look at the Denver Nuggets, a

6:52

team that the Celtics should use as

6:54

a measure and stick. They're not vulnerable.

6:56

They're going to win games. Teams don't

6:58

know how to stop them. And so

7:00

when you look at this recipe and

7:02

they continue to shoot these threes, the

7:04

ball continue to get staggered. And especially

7:06

when they're in close games, this is

7:08

a habit and teams looking at them

7:10

and saying, you know what? If we

7:13

do those things, we actually could beat

7:15

them and they do not fear the

7:17

Boston Celtics. You know, perk,

7:19

I'm gonna bring it back to you here

7:21

because on paper, the Boston Celtics, look at

7:23

all those missed three threes right there on

7:26

paper. The Boston Celtics are

7:29

flawless, right? They have two young stars

7:31

that are all stars. They have an

7:33

X factor in Prozingis that has helped

7:35

them improve. They brought in some more

7:37

defense and lead from championship pedigree with

7:39

Drew Holiday. But the biggest hole

7:41

that they're missing is not on paper. It's who's

7:44

their dog, who's going to hold them accountable. And

7:46

I think that's why you're highlighting, okay, coaches are

7:48

supposed to hold you accountable, but also help you win games,

7:50

that lack of time out to change the trajectory

7:52

of what you're running towards the end. We've been talking about

7:54

it all year long. Why is it not addressed? All right,

7:56

that's one. But also, if the coach is not going to

7:58

address it or maybe he He has his own plan on

8:01

the floor who's gonna hold you accountable. We just listened

8:03

to Jason Tatum who was just very calm Collected

8:06

he's not a high-energy guy based off of

8:08

you know, how we see him interact He's

8:10

not gonna get up in your face. Damon

8:12

Brown is a little bit of the same

8:14

way. He's cool, right? These guys compete

8:17

at high levels But you sort of need that one

8:19

person who used to be Marcus smart that used to

8:21

get in front of everyone's face and say Like this

8:23

is the game plan, but y'all we need to deviate

8:25

and get this win. Like that is what they're missing

8:27

That's what perk has always alluded to all year long

8:30

Who is their dog because they're gonna need someone

8:32

to pick them up because sometimes your best

8:34

players can't get out to you know Too emotional,

8:36

right? So it has to be someone else that helps

8:38

them up. All right, two things real quick one Derek

8:41

white drew holiday their point guards were out

8:43

in this game. Yep, so I'm not gonna

8:45

freak out about this individual loss Secondly,

8:48

there's been a bunch of games this year with

8:50

the Celtics where they've had a big lead and

8:52

they've put the game away They have a great

8:54

record for a reason and there's a lot of

8:56

games where Joe Missoula didn't need those timeouts, right?

9:00

The problem is is that there are times

9:02

where this team allows this to happen and

9:04

they don't have a recourse offensively and they

9:06

fall into those bad habits and I

9:09

know that if you're a Celtics fan you're watching this game

9:11

It's not like that you're super worried about losing to

9:14

the Hawks on March Whatever you're

9:16

also thinking about losing to the Cavs last month where

9:18

you blew that 22-point lead and that what

9:20

happens is is that? Because Boston does

9:23

that they're gonna get into a playoff situation

9:25

And I've seen this repeatedly with this group and

9:27

I know perk has two over the last couple

9:30

years Well, there's a playoff game They should win

9:33

and they have the better team and they have a

9:35

better situation and they don't win it because this is

9:37

what this team Does they fall into 77 game series?

9:40

It should be five or six and they've

9:42

let themselves get put out of position and

9:44

this is why Because they have

9:46

this habit at the end of the game where

9:48

they allow the other team who shouldn't be in

9:50

it To have an opportunity to beat them.

9:52

Yeah, and they can't deviate from their natural

9:54

plan of look Look at the assists right

9:57

there 17 in the first half third quarter. We

9:59

go ISO And then they also really

10:01

struggle fourth quarter against isolation plays that they

10:03

initiate. But more importantly, like I'm not

10:05

trying to overreact. I think just having someone

10:07

that holds them accountable will help them in

10:09

the malaise of an 82 game season. But

10:11

overall, this is the number one overall

10:14

seed in the NBA. And I think they have

10:16

a six or five or six game lead on

10:18

the nugget to a number one in the West. They

10:20

know that they pretty much locked this up. They know

10:22

that it's a tough. Zilma Zula's started nine different Lions

10:24

last 10 games. He's messing around a little bit, but

10:26

that doesn't change the fact that they have these bad

10:28

habits, which I know I know

10:31

are going to come back with the worst time. Well, and

10:33

until they win it all, the doubt is going to creep

10:35

in. Even even after games like this. Right, Perk, we're going to get

10:37

back to this in a little bit, but I do want to shift to a

10:39

developing story. The NBA Raptors forward.

10:41

John T. Porter is under investigation

10:43

by the NBA following multiple instances

10:46

of betting irregularities over the

10:48

past several months. That's what

10:50

sources told ESPN's David Purdom,

10:52

Brian Wynn Horst and Adrian Wojnarowski. Now

10:54

Porter, who is the brother, of course,

10:56

of Nuggets. Michael Porter Jr. missed the

10:58

last two games due to what was

11:00

cited as personal reasons here. So the two

11:02

games that were in question are

11:04

on January 26th and on March

11:06

20th on both dates. There was

11:08

increased betting interest on the

11:10

under for Porter props. The Porter played just

11:13

four minutes in the game against the Clippers

11:15

before leaving with an eye injury and just

11:17

three minutes before exiting with an illness against

11:19

the Sacramento Kings. And according to

11:21

DraftKings Sportsbook, Porter's Unders, they were

11:24

the two biggest money winners for

11:26

any player props on both of

11:28

those dates. So, Brian, you were on the forefront

11:30

of this reporting. But for some, there's

11:32

sort of a sense of inevitability that a situation

11:34

like this could arise at some point. How

11:37

much concern is there around the league? Right.

11:39

This could be a worrisome trend that we're seeing.

11:41

Well, I think the league is going to investigate

11:43

right now to find out whether it was something

11:45

with a trend or if it's a one off

11:47

situation. I think a couple of important things. One,

11:50

there is no accusation that John

11:52

T. Porter actually made a bet

11:54

himself. Correct. This is an investigation

11:56

of suspicious activity around the situation.

11:58

That's number one. Second thing

12:00

is, and

12:03

obviously with the increased focus on

12:05

betting that there was this worry,

12:08

the sports books involved flagged this,

12:11

caught it, you know, the first time I think it

12:13

was like something strange happened there. And

12:15

then when it happened the second time, within

12:17

48 hours it

12:19

was flagged and he was deactivated. He

12:21

was deactivated on Saturday's game, he was

12:24

already deactivated for last night's game when

12:26

this report came out. So

12:29

the system, you could argue, kind

12:31

of, the integrity system kind of

12:33

worked and caught this as

12:35

a flag. But of course the issue is, is

12:38

there something that's not being caught? Will this

12:40

be something that happens in the future? And

12:42

I think the thing is, is that the NBA

12:44

is just going to have to continue to look

12:47

at ways to improve their policy. One, how they

12:49

allow prop bets to be made, for one, on

12:51

injury reporting. Because injury reporting, even

12:53

though the NBA has improved it, there's still some

12:55

holes in injury reporting. But one of the reasons

12:57

why this was an issue was, even

13:00

though he had had an eye injury that previous week,

13:02

he was not on an injury report with an eye

13:04

injury, even as available to play,

13:06

he was not on the injury report with

13:08

an illness. Obviously the illness could have happened

13:10

at that moment,

13:12

but there was no, so

13:14

any warning to betters that this would happen. So

13:17

it was truly appeared to be

13:19

information that maybe was, or an event that

13:21

maybe had, somebody had inside of an information

13:23

form. Of course, this is a situation that

13:25

we will continue to monitor. It comes on

13:27

the heels of J.B. Bickerstaff saying that

13:30

he has gotten phone calls to his home

13:32

with betters saying that he did not cover

13:34

a spread and being very angry about that.

13:36

It comes on the heels of Tyrese Halliburton

13:38

saying that he does not want to just show up

13:41

for fans to yell at him about not making their

13:43

prop bets. So certainly this is something the NBA is

13:45

going to have to continue to contend with and we

13:47

will cover it as it comes up. Coming

13:49

up, we have a lot to get to on our show today. It

13:53

was supposed to be the easiest

13:55

game down the stretch. to

14:00

be very costly for the Phoenix fans, we'll explain.

14:02

And we've been waiting for it all season long.

14:04

But are the Lakers? Oh goodness, I don't wanna

14:06

change this. Are they finally getting hot? Is

14:09

AD the key tonight if LA wants to make

14:11

it four wins in a row? And

14:14

it's cold in our studio, but it was

14:16

Dante's Inferno for the Knicks last night. 11

14:19

three-pointers, why that representing night? It touched off a

14:21

whole war of words when the business after, you're

14:23

gonna wanna hear that. We're just getting started here

14:25

on NBA today. Now

14:31

it's time for the play of the week. The pressure to

14:33

follow up hypnotic and cognac weighing

14:36

heavily on the team. Hypnotic was in the cut, blue and

14:38

ready for the play. And

14:40

boom, on Yeyo Tequila came in with a smooth assist

14:44

to hypnotic's tropical fruit finish. Shaken,

14:46

strained, poured. It

14:49

was green and good. The playmaking splash

14:51

shifted the tempo. Another great cocktail from

14:53

the hypnotic team and the playmaking splash

14:56

of the week. And then the tempo,

14:58

another great cocktail from the hypnotic team.

15:01

Every season is hypnotic and tequila

15:03

season. Hypnotic liquor, bard-stun, Kentucky,

15:05

17% alcohol by volume. Hypnotic reminds

15:07

16:24

NBA Today is presented by Levi's. Ignore

16:26

us yours. There's

16:31

nothing quite like the Wild

16:33

West. That

16:37

dog. Woo!

17:00

Yeehaw! The West has been wild all year

17:02

long, but since Cowboy Carter comes out this week,

17:04

we're really diving in right now because things

17:06

aren't slowing down as we approach the final stretch

17:08

of the season here, right? The race that

17:10

may have the most points and the most turns

17:13

is the one to stay out of the

17:15

play in tournament, right? Entering last night, the

17:17

Suns, just a half game, separated them

17:19

from both the Kings and the Dallas

17:21

Mavericks. So each and every game, it

17:23

counts for all teams, but maybe none

17:26

more than the big three out in

17:28

Arizona. Starting tomorrow's clash against the defending

17:30

champs on ESPN, every

17:32

single team remaining on the Suns schedule

17:34

is against a team with a better

17:36

record than Phoenix. It is an absolutely

17:39

brutal stretch. All

17:41

of their opponents, they're currently top six seeds and would

17:43

be in the playoffs if they started today. But take

17:45

a look at this. The Mavs, the

17:47

Kings, they both are taking care of business last

17:49

night. It was even more imperative, right, that Kevin

17:52

Durant and company capitalized on the cool 78%

17:55

chance they had to win, according to ESPN

17:57

analytics, against the San Antonio Spurs, who, by

17:59

the way... We're without Victor

18:01

Wambuyama. It should be easy, right? Well,

18:05

uh, let's show you what happened.

18:07

Kevin Durant and company in San Antonio. No

18:09

Victor. Nice jacket though. We're gonna pick this

18:11

one up in the fourth quarter, Sinead. Devin

18:14

Vassal elevates, extends. Do not

18:16

sleep on that man, Devin Vassal. But one

18:18

thing about the Suns, Kevin Durant, he has

18:20

been on one since All-Star. He's been upping

18:22

his field goal. He's knocking it down. But

18:25

he needed help, Malika. He needed more help. So

18:27

you're pointing in 29.8 rebounds, 6 to 6,

18:29

but still the Suns are down. Devin

18:32

Vassal gets that one to go, Brian. How do

18:34

they have 97 points if two minutes left in

18:36

the game with that all-time? Well, Devin

18:39

Booker looks to add to it there,

18:42

and all of a sudden the Suns take

18:44

a lead in the final seconds here though

18:46

of the fourth quarter for three.

18:48

So in, yes, that was good, Janae.

18:50

So now, letting them know, are

18:52

you not entertained? San Antonio on its

18:54

feet. Devin Booker trying to cook. This is the

18:57

guy. You want to take the shot. Oh, and it

18:59

rolls around, but doesn't go down. This

19:02

one too, looking. Devin Booker.

19:06

And can't quite get it

19:08

to go. Here's head

19:11

coach Frank Vogel after arguably

19:13

the Suns' worst loss of the season. Yeah,

19:15

it's just unacceptable to lose that game, you

19:18

know, for our guys. You know, we all said the right things. We

19:20

all did the right

19:22

preparation to come in, but we didn't play with the

19:24

necessary focus in this position. Well, they're going to come

19:26

in, get in these, I guess. I don't

19:28

know how we beat them last year. We'll start

19:31

the game, try to try to do

19:33

it now, like, we won't start the game anymore, so

19:35

we got to be fine. I

19:37

don't think we're about to go any more. The

19:39

rest of the teams even. So

19:47

the Suns are out for it yet again in the

19:50

fourth quarter. That continues on their

19:52

final frame woes here. Just look at those numbers.

19:54

Phoenix is the worst team in the league this

19:56

season in the fourth quarter. They've been outscored by

19:58

more points than any other team. came from

20:00

perspective over the last two seasons, only

20:03

the Spurs pre-Wembe were outscored

20:05

by Moore in the fourth quarter,

20:07

which is pretty astonishing. How

20:10

alarming was this loss here for the Suns? It's

20:15

very alarming. Number one, right, this

20:17

Suns team is not going to

20:19

be good until they consistently involve

20:21

Bradley Beal. Last night, he had

20:23

11 shots. That's not

20:25

enough. And I trade for Bradley Beal to be

20:28

taking 11 shots. Anybody

20:31

heard from Kevin Durant lately, since

20:33

he went on that little cute, adorable

20:35

postgame interview talking about, you know, dropping

20:37

the word leadership and leader eight or

20:40

nine times? Because if you have a

20:42

leader, then you don't lose the game

20:44

like that against the San Antonio Spurs

20:46

without Victor Wembe-Yamma. Matter of

20:49

fact, before you take off and land

20:51

in San Antonio, that message is being

20:53

sung all throughout the locker room on

20:55

the team playing, hey, man, get your

20:57

minds right. When you get to the

20:59

arena, you're supposed to have the focus

21:01

there to say, you know what, we

21:04

got to go out here and have the

21:06

business and get this win that we supposed

21:08

to win. And they didn't do that. So

21:10

they could come out and they could talk

21:12

about, oh, we had the right preparation. This

21:15

is unacceptable. We only could control what we

21:17

could control. What you know what you can

21:19

control is not stopping so hard from having

21:21

an awesome night, probably the best game of

21:24

this season. You know what else you could

21:26

control? Sharing

21:28

the damn basketball, sharing the

21:30

damn basketball, getting others involved.

21:33

It's not just the KD and Devin Booker

21:35

show. You have to get others involved, especially

21:37

Bradley Beale. I'm right there with you, Perk,

21:40

with the exception of the Kevin Durant slander

21:42

a little bit saying that, oh, he has

21:44

to be the leader that gets everyone involved.

21:47

What more can Kevin Durant do? He's 35

21:49

years old. He's averaging 27. Right.

21:52

He's going to be the best player in the rest of the second half of the season.

21:54

This is a guy that is a two time NBA champion, a two time finals

21:56

MVP who's trying to be the most consistent. He can

21:58

be like a couple of years ago. This is the

22:00

guy who tore his achilles and now

22:02

it's back at peak four. So like, okay

22:04

I understand leadership it takes everyone not just

22:07

KD not just Devin Booker who by the

22:09

way on that starting five outside of those

22:11

two the rest of the starting five only

22:13

combined for 21 points Beal

22:15

is integral and I keep saying that Beal

22:17

missing this, you know Incoming season

22:19

being able to practice with the guys that has been

22:22

crucial because now he's trying to learn Learn

22:24

this offense learn how to play with those two

22:26

guys on the fly more importantly I'm looking at

22:28

this loss as they have the hardest

22:30

road moving forward not too long ago

22:33

They were in the playoffs now they're in the play

22:35

in this loss made me feel old Because

22:38

right now we're looking at a play in

22:40

I know perk we're looking at a plan

22:42

that has LeBron James Yeah, that's curry and

22:44

now Kevin Durant. I'm like what's going on with

22:46

our Jen are Mike. I mean you and I know friends

22:48

Wendy But

22:52

somebody just had a birthday last week you just got older You

22:55

mentioned it's not just the hardest remaining

22:57

schedule in the league this year right

22:59

perk They have the hardest final 10

23:02

games of any team since the 2015

23:09

And 67 wins in Antony And Oh

23:19

Wonder are the sun's lining

23:21

up for the same fate and what

23:23

were the ramifications of this incredibly expensive

23:25

team be If they

23:28

do fall, you know what not what it's not

23:30

about the schedule It's about being 30th in the

23:32

league and offense and then being the worst quarter

23:34

team in the league That's what's unacceptable

23:36

and whatever happens to them at the end of this season

23:39

Will be a result of that of those failures not just

23:41

a single game in this run. Oh when

23:43

you put it like that sure Phoenix

23:46

Suns they have On

23:50

their plate over these next couple of

23:52

games we'll see what they're able to

23:55

make up So the come the latest

23:57

on the bronze absence from tonight's game

23:59

in Milwaukee Is there any conflict

24:01

and concern? We're gonna answer that for you with

24:03

the live report coming up. And Tai Liu described

24:05

his clipper team in a way that you never

24:07

want to be described in sports. We're gonna tell

24:09

you what that is and Perk actually has

24:12

even stronger thoughts than the team he once

24:14

had winning the title. Plus, is this the

24:16

Warriors last gasp to make the playoffs? Who

24:18

needs to stand on business tonight? And

24:20

if Perkans will tell you, that's all I'm asking. Don't

24:23

go anywhere. You're watching NBA Today. Now

24:32

let's talk about the play of the

24:34

week. The pressure to follow up Hypnotic

24:36

and Cognac, weighing heavy on the team.

24:38

Hypnotic was in the cup, flew and

24:40

ready for the play. And boom! And

24:43

Yeo Tequila came in with a

24:45

smooth assist to Hypnotic's tropical fruit

24:47

finish. Taken straight,

24:49

poured, it was green

24:52

and... BUN! The playmaking

24:54

splash shifted the tempo. Another

24:56

great cocktail from the Hypnotic team.

24:59

Every season is Hypnotic and Tequila

25:01

season. Hypnotic liqueur, Bardstown, Kentucky, 17%

25:04

alcohol by volume. Hypnotic reminds you to think

25:06

wisely, drink wisely. Reggie White, who's

25:08

a defensive end for the Green Bay Packers, says

25:11

that the fire bombing of his church in Knoxville,

25:13

Tennessee this week was the work of racists who

25:15

may have been trying to hurt him. Of course,

25:17

there was one fire, then there was another, then

25:19

there was another. It wasn't just Reggie's church that

25:22

burnt down. Hundreds of churches burned in the 90s.

25:25

I think we have a major problem in our country and we

25:27

don't want to admit and that has to do with racism. Was

25:29

this 1996 or 1956? The

25:32

40-30 podcast and Antique presents Through the

25:34

Flames. Listen now wherever you get your

25:36

podcasts. You're

25:40

watching NBA Today presented by

25:42

Levi's. They're

25:45

still in the night spot. This

25:50

is probably where the Lakers will be the rest of

25:52

the week. Zach

25:55

DiMenno goes 4-0 against the

25:57

Lakers. Every

26:00

game there's something at stake. It's

26:02

kind of like a game. And

26:04

a board! A house tied inside

26:06

and a clock! We're

26:09

not really focused on who. We're the winning mini-games from

26:11

all over the world. Here we are. The

26:17

Lakers may be in a six-game road

26:19

trip tonight in Milwaukee. Remember,

26:22

this is the first time they've played outside

26:24

of the state of California since February 25th.

26:28

And every single game is all too important

26:30

for Los Angeles in this race. For

26:32

the play-in. Now welcoming in our

26:35

reporter covering the Lakers, Dave McMinneman, who is

26:37

live from Milwaukee. Dave, the Lakers, they start

26:39

that six-game road trip tonight against Giannis in

26:41

the Bucks. But LeBron is listed as out

26:43

tonight. So what more can you tell us

26:45

about his injury and his status here moving forward? I

26:50

saw LeBron at the Lakers morning shoot-around

26:52

today. And his long-time athletic trainer, Mike

26:54

Mancius, was working on him. And he

26:56

was in relatively good spirits. I asked

26:58

him, hey, are we going to see

27:00

you tomorrow against Memphis Grizzlies? Because they

27:02

play second-hand over back-to-back to start this

27:04

road trip. He said, nope, I'm

27:07

out for the rest of the season. He was

27:09

joking, which tells me that he's

27:11

in decent spirits. This is something he's been dealing

27:13

with now for months now. This left

27:15

ankle of his, he dealt with it around

27:18

the All-Star break, went to get treatment prior to

27:20

the All-Star game, and got treatment after the

27:22

All-Star game, and has mostly been on the court.

27:25

But they're trying to look at this final

27:27

stretch of 11 games as they want him

27:29

to be as available as possible. That means

27:32

sacrificing one game. When you

27:34

consider also the fact that this is

27:36

the first season since LeBron played for

27:38

the Heat in 2012-2013 that

27:40

his team has a winning record without him,

27:42

this was the prudent decision to hold him

27:44

out tonight. Dave, you should have seen my

27:46

eyebrows shoot up before you dropped the line

27:48

that LeBron was joking when he said that it

27:50

was going to be for the season. But you're

27:52

right, the Los Angeles Lakers, they have experienced some

27:55

success even recently against the Milwaukee Bucks. It did

27:57

take an enormous game from D'Angelo Russell in order

27:59

to win. win that game and it was home

28:01

here in Los Angeles. But how is this team

28:03

preparing to face Giannis and the Bucks tonight since

28:05

LeBron will be out for this one? Oh

28:09

yeah. Certainly good of you Malika dimension that

28:11

big game from D'Angelo Russell and Spencer Dinwiddie

28:14

who filled in for D'Angelo Russell on Sunday

28:16

against the Pacers with Russell out with a

28:18

non COVID illness had one of

28:20

his biggest offensive games all year. But when you

28:22

spoke to him this morning at shoot around, it

28:25

wasn't that I expect to go out and score

28:27

25, 26 points again. He

28:29

said he remembered in that game in early

28:31

March, he was a screener setting up looks

28:34

for D'Angelo Russell. The good part about this

28:36

Lakers team is that they feel like they

28:38

have enough continuity at this stage of the

28:40

season, even without LeBron to be able

28:42

to play different scenarios based on different.

28:44

Opponents, you know, you saw them playing

28:46

a defensive style of the game against

28:48

the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, how the

28:50

Sixers under a hundred points. And that

28:52

was a track race on Sunday against

28:54

the Indiana Pacers when the Lakers put

28:56

up a season high, 150. Probably

28:59

take some combination of those two things

29:01

against this box team tonight. And certainly

29:04

you get a confidence Spencer Dinwiddie ready

29:06

to step in for LeBron James in

29:08

his absence. Dave McMenaman from Milwaukee. Thank

29:10

you so very much. The thing about MBA

29:12

today though, is that you don't just get

29:15

what you get on any other show. You get the

29:17

recipes for success that your team may need. So for

29:19

more on that, let's talk about Jeanette who is the

29:21

key for the Lakers. If they want to replicate what

29:23

they did on March 8th, what are they going to

29:26

need to do against the Bucks? Well,

29:28

the key is Anthony Davis, who is

29:30

fresh off of winning Western Conference player of

29:32

the week, but tonight he won't have his

29:34

guy by his side. If that hasn't been

29:36

a problem though, for AD this season, the

29:38

brow is putting up over 28 points

29:41

in games without LeBron James. And

29:43

here is how the key gets

29:45

his buckets right here. So let's run

29:47

the tape. All right. One

29:50

thing I love about AD is that he can really go off

29:52

of the dribble. People forget you with a point guard

29:54

in high school. He's going up against the Brooklobes. They

29:56

don't send a double because this is a great defender.

29:58

And what does AD do? He rocks. him to sleep

30:00

a little bit, gets him with a heavy and nice

30:02

little reverse layup. So he's able to create his own

30:04

basket. But this right here is nasty. It's dirty.

30:07

Again, on an Island, Brooke Lopez, he

30:09

can really guard AD, but watch this.

30:11

Send the double. Why? When he's comfortable

30:13

knocking down shots at this clip, a

30:16

turnaround mid range fade away from the free

30:18

throw line. That guy is in his bag.

30:20

Sorry, my IAB fell off, but we're going

30:22

to keep running with it. Now, as for

30:24

the Bucks, their duo of Damon Yannis, they

30:26

have been growing chemistry throughout the season, but

30:28

lately y'all they've been on another level. Now,

30:31

last time that they played the Lakers,

30:33

Damon Yannis, each one for over 25 points

30:36

and had 12 dimes, a first

30:38

of any teammates in a game like

30:40

that in league history. So that synergy

30:42

is growing and I love this pick

30:44

and roll. Watch this right here. Dame,

30:46

he attacked and these are the buckets

30:48

that the Bucks need. Draw two Yannis,

30:50

not staying on the perimeter. Instead, he

30:52

gets him where Yannis can finish. But

30:55

next level again in this pick and

30:57

roll here. Watch this Yannis, quick dribble

30:59

handoff. No thinking. What does Dame do?

31:01

He comes off knowing that guys are

31:03

inside. Dame has been shooting 42%

31:05

from three since All-Star. So

31:07

yes, 80s hands are full because these

31:09

two guys have been playing so well ever since

31:11

All-Star break Malika. Sinead is our All-Star

31:14

doing it even without an earpiece, but

31:16

your rockets Sinead. Oh, let's get it.

31:18

Rolling as well. They're winning a current NBA

31:21

high ninth game in a row after

31:23

beating the Trailblazers. 110 to 92. By

31:26

the way, that's the longest win streak since November of 2019.

31:29

We've been waiting since. Seven

31:32

stuff is remaining scheduled today. Only

31:34

11 games to go. So let's just

31:36

take some quick indian twirls here of the

31:38

playing race because look. Here

31:42

they come. The Rockets are a half game back at

31:44

the Golden State Warriors. So the race for

31:46

the final play in spot, it has

31:48

really started to heat up here. One

31:51

thing to remember, Houston needs to finish

31:53

ahead of Golden State to earn that spot. Remember,

31:55

because the dubs, they do have the tiebreaker,

31:57

so they cannot finish with the exact same

31:59

record. All of the teams across the team depend

32:02

on winning the baseball team at ESPN. That's

32:04

the official sportsbook of ESPN. Two teams who

32:06

are currently in the play-in tournament in the

32:08

respective conferences where off tonight in the Golden

32:10

State Warriors and the Miami Heat, they

32:12

matched up for the second time this

32:15

season. Golden State comes in losing their

32:17

last two games, but they haven't lost

32:19

three in a row since December. So,

32:21

Kendra Perkins, starting with you, who do

32:23

you got in this all-important game tonight?

32:27

I'm going with the team that

32:29

plays hard consistently, the team that's

32:32

well coached, a team that

32:34

has Jimmy Butler, the Miami Heat, right? After

32:36

they got SmackDown a couple of games ago

32:38

by the Pelicans, we saw them return the

32:40

favor last game. And look, the one thing

32:42

about the Heat, they want to keep it

32:45

going. And what you called it, Wendy, the

32:47

Miami Flu? Yeah. Is that the new term

32:49

for it, the Miami Flu? Yeah, so, I

32:51

mean, at the end of the day, I

32:53

don't trust the Golden State Warriors. I don't

32:55

think either none of us does on this

32:58

panel, but I'm going with the Miami Heat for tonight.

33:00

Well, speaking of the flu, Jimmy Butler

33:02

missed you around this morning with an

33:05

onus. Now, the expectation is that

33:07

he's going to go tonight, but I want

33:09

to see Jimmy Butler in the starting lineup

33:12

before I'm going to make my pick. So, I'm

33:14

just going to stand back and wait. I'm going

33:16

to wait for that list. I'm going to wait

33:18

for the starting lineup. I

33:20

haven't took tip-off. So, if Jimmy Butler,

33:22

who is listed as probable with head

33:25

semicolon illness non-COVID,

33:27

official diagnosis, I'm

33:30

not even sure what that is. You're

33:32

going with Miami if Jimmy plays? Probably.

33:36

Okay. Wow. As probable as Jimmy

33:38

Butler is to play. Regardless, I'm going

33:40

with the Miami Heat, and I'm very concerned

33:43

about the Warriors, not only because my Rockets are

33:45

hot on their backs, right? Jalen Green averaged

33:47

25 cents all to break. That was my

33:49

only time to get the Rockets in, sorry, guys.

33:51

But the reason why is because the Golden State

33:53

Warriors, they have played better lately, but they still

33:55

have no solution for the Steph Curry on the

33:57

bench. Minutes, they don't. If you look at the

33:59

lineup, The staff giving you 31, Kaminga

34:01

giving you around 14, Draymond

34:04

giving you 12, Clay giving you 16 on the bench. We'd

34:06

say, oh, that's an automatic win. They were close versus

34:08

T-Wolves, but they still can't figure out those big

34:10

moments. And so I'm going with the Miami Heat

34:13

because they have Bam out of Bido as well. That's the only

34:15

person, that person mentioned he gives you 15 and 16 and

34:17

the last time out. I mean, at this

34:19

time of year, I just become a believer. If the Golden

34:21

State Warriors lose this game, they

34:24

have the exact same record as

34:27

the Houston Rockets. Bring, bring, bring, so

34:29

we're a dynasty. I mean, we're a dynasty loading, dynasty loading. So that's what we

34:31

got. And we here. Who are you picking?

34:33

It's the question. We

34:35

here, Perks, download the ESPN bet

34:38

36:29

launching the Monet...

36:31

...and we keep that in mind... ...and it's over. ...and

36:33

we keep it in order and I'm just out there trying

36:35

to play my game. History

36:41

has been made in lots of monites.

36:43

He has more double-doubles than in and

36:45

out. And Monday was his 54th straight

36:47

double-double, the longest straight by any player

36:49

since the NBA, ABA murder. That passed

36:51

the mark that Kevin Love said he

36:53

had 53 straight. That was back in

36:55

2011. And look who is

36:57

here. Fresh off his record set at night. DeMonte

36:59

Sibona is joining us. Thank you so much

37:02

for taking a little bit of time and

37:04

congratulations. I want to start, Domas, with last

37:06

night. Right after you realized you

37:08

broke the record. You pointed out in the stands.

37:10

You blew a kiss to your wife, to your

37:12

family. How did it feel to share that moment

37:14

with them? It

37:16

was really cool. You know, it kind of worked

37:18

out where I had to get

37:21

the rebound half at the same time. And

37:23

it wasn't just about. So I had a

37:25

little moment there to celebrate with my family, with

37:27

my kids, you know, and make it more special.

37:30

It's pretty wild when you think of all the greats

37:32

that came before you. I think of Duncan. I

37:34

think of Kareem, Moses, Shaq. Your

37:36

streak of double-doubles lasts longer than all of them.

37:39

What does it mean to you to hear your

37:41

name in that Hall of Fame company and

37:43

know you've even exceeded those records? You

37:46

know, it's definitely an honor to be mentioned with all those

37:48

guys. Like you said, they're all in the Hall of Fame.

37:51

They're all legends, big-time centers.

37:54

And just to go out there

37:56

and be able to do my job. I'm

37:58

here with this team every day. That's

38:00

why we play this game, you know, I love this game.

38:02

You don't just leave the league in double-double, though, right?

38:04

You leave the NBA in triple-double, as well. No one

38:06

has more combined rebounds and assists than you. And

38:09

you haven't missed a game. How many big

38:11

men do you think are playing at your

38:13

level or playing better than you are right now? Because

38:15

you're right up there at the top. I

38:17

mean, the NBA is full of talent.

38:20

There's a whole bunch of talented NBA bigs,

38:22

you know. That's why I make

38:24

the phone call. I mean, now you go against a different team,

38:26

and the other future of the game is still in line. I

38:29

like playing, you know, and it just will

38:31

make more sense. I promise we're

38:33

going to move on from it right after this question. Did

38:35

your teammates do anything to celebrate you? Nothing.

38:39

We just came in. They gave me the

38:41

game ball, you know. They all congratulated me,

38:44

you know, pretty much. Oh, I'm sure that's also how

38:46

you would have liked it. All right, we can

38:48

move on now, because you have a massive two-game

38:50

set, right? The Dallas Mavericks against them coming up.

38:52

It starts tonight. I really appreciate you doing this

38:54

on a game day. How important is this final

38:56

stretch for you in the Western playoff race

38:58

and picture here? For

39:00

sure. We have 11 games left. We know we're

39:02

fighting for that six-bit seed, you know, to not

39:04

be in the plane. And Dallas

39:07

is like, I agree with this, you know.

39:09

So we can win tonight, get the tiebreaker,

39:11

and then we have another game against them.

39:13

So it kind of counts as two seasons.

39:16

You guys got a piece of the

39:18

playoffs' group last year. What

39:20

did that leave you feeling that you want

39:22

to prove and achieve this season? We

39:26

definitely had a lot of fun in that series,

39:28

and we want to

39:30

go more. We want to go higher. We want to advance. And

39:32

it all starts with today, you know, putting us in

39:34

the right position to get a right seat

39:37

and then get ready for the playoffs. Domos,

39:40

thank you so much for spending a little time with us.

39:42

We appreciate it. Good luck tonight and go, Dags. Thank

39:45

you. Thank you. Appreciate it.

39:47

Well, Sabona, since that's the only record in

39:50

the NBA last night, let's play a little

39:52

chopper to drop it with some other action

39:54

around the association. We're going to start in

39:56

New York because the Knicks... They

39:58

rolled the Pistons, man. Thanks

40:01

to Dauncey Dibincenzo who scored a career

40:03

high 40 points, set the Knicks single

40:05

game record for the most third-pointers made with 11.

40:08

But it was what was said after

40:10

the game that raised a couple of eyebrows. Here

40:13

was Pistons coach, Moni Williams after

40:15

the game. I

40:18

mean, if Jaylen passed the ball more, I could have had probably 15

40:20

of them tonight. But nah,

40:22

everybody was going to help us. Everybody was paying for one another.

40:24

They're doing some fun games to be a part of. I

40:27

don't care about their team at all. I

40:30

could care less. Those

40:33

guys, the

40:36

way they got those threes, I don't want

40:38

to be a part of that story. If you

40:40

don't want to be a part of this, don't be

40:42

sure the guys are defected. We got a guy that's

40:45

hot. You're going to try to find a guy that's

40:47

hot. It's

40:50

common sense of best. Okay,

40:54

pause. Moni was clearly upset

40:56

with the Knicks running up the score at

40:58

the end. Josh Hart kind of has the

41:00

perfect response though. So, Perk, chop it or

41:02

drop it. Oh,

41:05

we got to top it. I got to top Moni Williams

41:07

up for a second. First

41:10

of all, you should want to

41:12

be a part of the Knicks story because

41:14

they actually win it. Nobody wants to be

41:17

a part of the Detroit Pistons story right

41:19

now. You're 12 and 60. You

41:22

have the worst record in the NBA.

41:24

You can't get mad at the Knicks

41:26

because they're doing their job. This is

41:28

not a local form league with a

41:30

mercy rule. If you wanted

41:32

to stop it, you should have game-planned or trapped

41:34

the man and slowed him down. Look,

41:36

the Knicks did nothing wrong. This

41:38

is professional basketball. We're

41:41

talking about grown men. Again, Moni

41:43

Williams is upset at the wrong

41:45

person or the wrong team. He

41:47

should be upset with the individuals

41:49

that he's coaching in that locker

41:51

room. So, Kendrick Perkins and

41:53

Josh Hart clearly agree on this one. Enough

41:56

said. Next up, the Clippers, they lost 133

41:58

to 160. team

42:00

to the Pacers last night who were on the second

42:02

night of a back-to-back by the way across the street.

42:04

They're now eight and ten since the All-Star break. They've

42:06

fallen to fifth in the Western Conference and

42:09

let's just say that head coach Ty

42:11

Lou he was not too happy about

42:13

his team's performance last night. Take a listen.

42:17

Right now do we have an identity? I

42:20

think yeah we're soft. I

42:22

could be an identity if you want to call it that.

42:24

Like we got to be tougher mentally

42:26

and physically. Okay

42:29

so for one one short day

42:31

the Clippers got to first in the Western Conference

42:33

that was in early February. Since then they're 10

42:35

and 12 and their defense has been absolutely

42:38

awful. Brian Winhorse choppeter dropping. Oh we're chopping

42:40

it and we're chopping a different spot in

42:42

those standings when we look at the play-in

42:45

because guess who is in heavy reverse and

42:47

we now have to look off the

42:49

Clippers when it comes to the play-in because

42:52

guess what folks not only they insist

42:54

they are two games out of seven

42:58

that's play-in zone and they're

43:00

about to go on an Eastern Conference road trip.

43:03

Oh boy they're fifth right now the Pelicans

43:05

have their number so if they're not incredibly

43:08

careful Brian they could be looking at a

43:10

first-run exit if they don't figure this out

43:12

quickly. Oh being a play-in team in this

43:14

season with where they've been with with what

43:16

they've got on the line would be a

43:19

disaster. Ending up playing the Lakers in a

43:21

one-game playoff and the play-in to get into the

43:23

playoffs in their last game potentially in creptile would

43:25

be a quadruple disaster. Well they

43:27

are hoping to avoid quadruple disaster.

43:29

All right lastly here Caitlin Clark

43:31

in Iowa they kept their national

43:33

championship hopes alive last night beating

43:35

West Virginia 64 to 54. But

43:40

it was the free throw differential

43:42

that caught a whole lot of

43:45

people's attention. West Virginia finished with

43:47

five total free throws. Iowa

43:49

had 30. Damian

43:51

Lillard took to social media had some thoughts

43:54

on the officiating he said this I feel

43:56

like West Virginia women's team didn't did bad

43:58

by the referees. So today Chopping to

44:00

drop, does Dave have a point here? Oh, we

44:02

gonna chop this because your girl's working more, it's

44:05

madness, and this has been a thing. Now, mind

44:07

you, Iowa, Caitlin, she did her thing too, right?

44:09

32 points, I think eight rebounds, six

44:12

or so assists. They won, but the

44:14

storyline of the tournament really has

44:16

been being able to play at home

44:18

helps you, and then also being able

44:21

to get to the free throw line,

44:23

which has helped Iowa and has helped

44:25

LSU. LSU actually has a plus 51

44:27

free throw differential in their

44:29

first two games. 15 points. Yes,

44:32

and this is a team that shoots the

44:34

ball in Iowa, right? So, like, you think

44:36

that, how do they get these free throws?

44:38

It has been a little touch and go

44:40

with the refereeing, but still, it

44:42

is better. I

44:45

think people all know what people are striving

44:47

for, but at the end of the day, Iowa made the big shots

44:49

that matter the most. They weren't necessarily

44:51

free throws, they were actual shots. But West Virginia does

44:53

have a right to be mad, the same way that

44:56

Middle Tennessee State has a right to be mad as

44:58

well. All I know is the women's tournament has

45:00

been so much fun to watch. It's where it's

45:02

at. If you're not watching, you are missing out.

45:05

Coming up on NBA Today in the Golden State Warriors, hanging

45:07

off the play on live. At this point, will they

45:09

stand on man this night, May Burke? NBA

45:11

Today will be right back in the NBA. NBA

45:24

Today is presented by Levi's. The floor

45:26

is yours. This

45:30

team, this dynasty has ran this course. We

45:32

have an identity, we know who we are,

45:34

we'll bounce back here, and I'm excited about

45:36

that. Everything

45:40

matters. Hey, Foxy! Greatest

45:45

shooter to ever play the game

45:47

of basketball. There are plenty of

45:49

games left to right the ship.

45:52

No matter what they do. The

45:56

Warriors fight to stay in the play in picture

45:59

is fully. on. They're just one

46:01

game ahead of the

46:05

Houston Rockets right now. But take a look

46:07

at this. They're slate tonight. Besides the

46:09

Warriors and Heat, we also have the Bucks and the

46:11

Lakers, the Thunder. They're in New Orleans to take on

46:13

the Pelicans. We have a battle

46:15

for the sixth seed between the Mavs and

46:17

the Kings. There is a whole lot going

46:19

down and I know Kendrick has his popcorn.

46:22

But Perk, you know what time it is. Remember

46:27

when I walked in here today? Remember what I

46:29

told you what our M.O. is today? We standing

46:32

on business. We standing on business. We

46:34

still standing on business. Richard, you're not

46:37

a part of the business. Damn it,

46:39

I'm standing on business even more. All

46:46

right, Perk, you saw the game. Who needs to stand on business

46:48

tonight? The

46:51

person that you just interviewed, his team,

46:53

the markets, the bonus. Damn it, they

46:55

gotta stand on business tonight. You got

46:57

the Dallas Mavericks coming in. Y'all battling

47:00

for that six fight to stay in

47:02

the postseason. They coming into your crib.

47:04

Are they gonna take their shoes off

47:06

at the door? Are they walking in with

47:08

the money and they go dirty off your

47:10

car? Damn it, the air fights gotta

47:13

show up and show out and match Luca

47:15

and match Kyrie Tinsley. I'm looking for

47:17

it and seeing what Malik is

47:40

gonna be hunting that rim tonight. Go show that

47:42

you can defend the interior. You're gonna have to

47:44

do that very soon. It's a great opportunity to

47:47

recover and send a message for what you guys

47:49

are seeing. What are we talking about, guys? It's

47:51

the Golden State Warriors. Clearly, we're talking about

47:54

a team that things would be crazy if

47:56

they don't make the play in. They're on the

47:58

brink of not even making the play in. The

48:00

Houston Rockets are hot. Perk, where are you from? You

48:02

from Beaumont? You should know this. They won

48:04

nine in a row. They're right on their

48:06

heels. The Golden State Warriors right now

48:09

with a probable Jimmy Butler. If they

48:11

are, you know, in the nicest ways gifted

48:13

a game without their star, they have to

48:15

win to stay ahead of the Rockets. This

48:17

is, it feels like every game at this

48:19

point is a must win. Go ahead. Perk.

48:23

Hello Wendy. You can't give, you know,

48:25

your standing on business without actually saying

48:27

standing on business. That's not how it

48:29

works. Let me hear you. We stand

48:32

on business always.
