This show is inspired by the host’s own undiagnosed, rare disease. On March 7, 2015, at the age of 23 years-old, Carissa was struck by metaphorical lightning. Her body randomly erupted with excruciating, debilitating nerve pain that left her hands paralyzed. She left her job and moved back home with her parents. After months of being bedridden, she decided to make the most of a bad situation and used the time to dream up a technology company, which eventually became venture-backed. This series is her first foray in speaking publicly about her experience. She does so with the hope these personal stories help others grappling with their health and wellness.
