Lauren and Nicole's analyses of Star Wars content is incredibly entertaining. While the first episode is pretty frustrating to get through, due to how little effort they seem to put into understanding the film, the series gets exponentially better as they continue through the various movies, TV series, and ESPECIALLY into fan created content. They are able to playfully critique some of the weaker/funnier aspects of the films while genuinely appreciating the elements that make it a classic. Highly recommend.Unfortunately, Season 2, based loosely on the Lord of the Rings, is a real letdown. Lauren and Nicole have obvious disdain for the content and put less than the bare minium into understanding or even consuming the content as they both admit to being on their phones throughout the films and barely even watching them. As such, the episodes are mostly made up of Lauren and Nicole poorly reading synopses of the films and refusing to engage with the material in a meaningful, insightful, or even comedic way. I made it through episode 1 and 2 and almost finished episode 3 before realizing it was never going to get any better. So, treat yourself to their takes on Star Wars but definitely steer clear of this stinker of a second season. Hopefully their next seasons are better, and hopefully Nicole and Lauren start putting effort into this podcast again.
