This is the inaugural, introductory podcast of "This Is Buildings", a podcast from Tyler Haak of Schneider Electric where we discuss how industry stakeholders can incorporate building technology best practices today, tomorrow, and into the future. As a global specialist in energy management and automation with operations in more than 100 countries, Schneider Electric offers integrated solutions across multiple market segments, including leadership positions in Non-residential & Residential Buildings, Industries & Machines Manufacturers, Utilities & Infrastructure and Data Centers & Networks. This episode of "This Is Buildings" introduces the focus of the series and sets the stage for what we hope will be thought-provoking and informative discussion in the world of BAS and Smart Buildings. We build a case for why now is an incredibly important time in the history of building technology which is anchored around philosophical, historical and motivational calls to action. So there's that.Outside references (and inspiration for our name) made to David Foster Wallace's graduation commencement speech at Kenyon College, which can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CrOL-ydFMIOutside references made to Andreas Antonopoulos' excellent book of presentations and speeches "The Internet of Money", which can be found here: https://www.amazon.com/Internet-Money-Andreas-M-Antonopoulos/dp/1537000454
