Yea, what

0:10

is up? Welcome to another edition of the

0:12

NFL Fantasy Football Podcast that's Mad

0:15

MG, socially distancing away from

0:17

the Fantasy Hall of Famer Michael Fabriano and

0:19

uh, I mean we have news like it's it's

0:21

been a while since we've had actual news to talk about.

0:24

We got news this week, and we

0:26

we kind of like I saw this coming a

0:28

mile away, right, I Like, we talked

0:30

about Cam Newton's best fantasy

0:32

landing spot weeks and

0:35

months ago and it was always New England. And

0:37

so the fact that he ended up with

0:40

the Patriots by no coincidence

0:43

on the same night where the penalty

0:45

for their videotaping

0:47

the Bengals scandal,

0:49

I guess you could call it came out, but I mean, hey, I

0:51

mean timing is everything, right, So that's

0:54

uh, that's that's going

0:57

to have a trickle down effect in fantasy

0:59

and we're gonna talk about that. Yeah, no doubt. That

1:01

is a tease of what part of what we're gonna

1:03

talk about in today's show. We're also gonna kind of go through

1:05

some top tens at least from last year,

1:08

talking about guys who might fall out of the top teen

1:10

guys who might be in. I know it's something we've talked about

1:12

in the past, but you know, things change, uh

1:15

since the last time we've talked about it. Either guys have

1:17

changed teams or maybe we've just dug a little

1:19

deeper into the numbers and found something different. H

1:21

So we'll go through that as well.

1:23

But before we do any of that, let's talk to our faithful

1:26

producers and Edward L. Murphy esquire mur

1:28

are you back in l A now? I am back

1:30

in l A for about two and a half weeks

1:32

and then we'll take an actual vacation, but just

1:34

going back home because there is nowhere to

1:37

vacation right now in our world. So

1:39

the best thing I could do is sit in my yard and

1:41

that I think actually that makes the world's difference, just

1:43

to have some space. But yeah, right now, it's no

1:46

tropical island for me. It's just back

1:48

to Staten Island, New York. I don't

1:50

know, Well, well, you're you're going to an island, right

1:53

islands it's gott a it's

1:55

got a huge like you know, landfill on

1:58

it. I actually lived on to that now and for about six months,

2:00

and I know is that island, but you

2:02

know, just tell people, Hey, I'm going to an island. I'm going

2:04

I'm going to island hopping. Yeah, I don't know. Um.

2:08

There was floating around on Twitter yesterday a

2:10

map. It's like a map of the world in all the countries,

2:12

and it had the different tourism

2:15

slogans for the different countries and like Slovakia's

2:17

or something like. It was something basic like travel

2:20

to Slovakia. It's a good idea. Like that

2:22

was like the whole that was their whole

2:24

touristm pitch to you. Like my question

2:26

would be, what's so good about it? I guess

2:28

I think that's what everybody was asking. When what's

2:32

funny with that? There was like countries

2:34

like that are the places that you would never normally think

2:37

to go travel to maybe right now that

2:39

I mean obviously outside of the airport travel

2:41

part is like once you're actually in the island

2:43

and or the country and maybe safer

2:46

than a lot of other places right now, Yeah,

2:48

I mean, you know, it's all those out of the way places

2:50

that nobody ever thinks to vacation to. Those Uh,

2:53

those might be paradises, who knows, who

2:55

knows. Um, anyway, let's

2:57

get back to what we were talking about

3:00

early on, and that is the big news,

3:02

of course, that Cam Newton has signed a one

3:04

year deal with the New England Patriots.

3:06

I mean, it's wild. I took a few hours

3:09

off from my phone. I was

3:11

busy doing stuff around the house. I

3:13

sit down, I see what I missed, and all

3:15

of a sudden, everybody on Twitter is talking about

3:17

Cam Newton and I'm like, wow, this is what happens when

3:20

you decide to just kind of tune out for a little bit.

3:22

But um, I mean, as

3:24

you talked about it, this seems inevitable

3:26

at some point. My question is

3:28

howes this always happened to the Patriots? Like how do

3:30

these guys always seem to fall in their laps? And

3:32

I know sometimes they don't work Antonio Brown

3:35

didn't work out, Shadow Jo Sinko didn't

3:37

work out, But it just seems like thirty

3:39

one other teams end up tripping all over

3:41

themselves and it allowed the Patriots to just walk

3:44

in and get these guys essentially bargain

3:46

basement prices. Like I don't understand how this

3:48

happens. It's almost like there's like a secret

3:50

clause in the c b A right, that's

3:52

any move out

3:55

there that could make the Patriots

3:57

look brilliant the other thirty

4:00

and teams have to acquiesce and let them do it.

4:03

And and it's funny too, markets because you know, we've

4:05

talked for weeks and weeks about how the Buffalo Bills

4:07

are the favorites to win the a FC East, and

4:09

you know, the Jets are moving up, maybe

4:11

the Dolphins are moving up. The

4:13

Patriots weren't even in the discussion. Now they

4:16

get Cam Newton and suddenly are

4:19

the Buffalo Bill is still the favorite. And I

4:22

understand Cam is a former m v

4:24

P great quarterback. He

4:27

hadn't been all that great uh recently.

4:29

Of course he's dealt with injuries. But if

4:31

Cam Newton can avoid those injuries, and

4:34

you know, he released a video on social media

4:36

with him working out and it looks like

4:38

he's in amazing shape, this

4:40

could end up being the offseason move

4:43

of I

4:45

mean it really can you know, And I know the

4:48

the immediate reaction, well, first off, the immediate

4:50

reaction on Twitter was sort of all over the place,

4:52

right. I Mean, you had some people saying, well,

4:55

you know, he's Cam and as long as he's healthy,

4:57

everything should be okay. He's working with Belichick

4:59

and Annals, this should be awesome. There

5:01

were other people who were saying, well, I

5:03

mean, look at what their wide receiver group

5:06

is, look at that offense around him, and

5:08

you know Tom Brady had issues, why shouldn't Cam.

5:11

My thought is, I mean, this isn't

5:13

the first time Cam Newton has gone into a season

5:15

with wide receivers who aren't great. I mean, you

5:18

know, you looked at his tile a lot of his time there

5:20

in Carolina when he was relying on

5:22

you know, the Kelvin Benjamin's and the Devin Funchesses

5:25

of the world. I mean, it's not that's not a group

5:27

that's gonna scare people. So I feel like that's

5:29

one one fear we can take

5:31

off the table, right. I Mean, he's got Julian Edelman,

5:34

who's you know, later in

5:36

his career. We're still waiting to see what m

5:38

Kiel Harry can be. But I feel like

5:40

the argument that he doesn't have good wide receivers

5:42

doesn't quite apply to him because he's

5:45

never really had great receivers and he's always found

5:47

a way to be successful. Yeah, I mean outside

5:49

like Steve Smith, I mean, you're not talking about the

5:51

greatest assembly of wide receivers

5:53

in Carolina over the years, you know, they've almost

5:56

always been sort of like a run first team,

5:58

you know, dating back to the time where they had the Angelo Williams

6:00

and Jonathan Stewart in that committee. That's sort of what they've

6:02

been. And um, to

6:05

me, Mohammed

6:07

Sanu is not a bad wide receiver. And if

6:09

he can if he can get back at with

6:12

Edelman, with nikkil Harry as you mentioned,

6:14

I mean, you know, it's not the worst wide receiver

6:16

corps in the league. And

6:18

Cam also is a guy

6:21

who historically and

6:23

and this is this dates all the way back to when we

6:25

started watching Cam Newton back at Auburn, and

6:27

this is a guy who can make plays with his legs,

6:29

and he's got a really good offensive line in front of him

6:31

now in New England. Also keep in

6:34

mind that when he played under North Turner

6:36

there in eighteen, he was running

6:38

more of a pro style offense, which is what they're gonna be running,

6:40

uh, you know, with Josh McDaniels there in New

6:43

England. So it's not gonna be one of those offenses

6:45

where he's gonna be, you know, running around all

6:47

over the place. And he's gonna be using that. He's gonna be using

6:49

that that right arm Uh. You know, hopefully

6:51

the shoulder in the foot are are back at a percent

6:54

again. It looks like they are. But this,

6:57

I will tell you one thing, Marcus, not

7:00

not only are fantasy fans happy about this,

7:02

not only are Patriots fans happy about this,

7:04

but the networks are happy about this too, because the Patriots

7:06

had a bunch of primetime games and I don't think

7:08

the networks we're looking forward to having Jared Stidham

7:11

be the guy there. So now Cam Newton is going to be

7:13

starting for the Patriots, a lot of people in the network world

7:16

are gonna be a hell of a lot happier. Yeah, I

7:18

mean, I really did believe, I think a lot

7:20

of us did for a long time that it just seemed

7:22

impossible that the Patriots

7:25

would go into the season with Jared Stidham

7:27

and Brian Hoyer is their top two quarterbacks.

7:29

And I know there was chatter that,

7:31

you know, this is our guy we like and we want to see

7:33

what Stidham can do, but it just seemed impossible

7:36

to really believe that was going to happen. Um.

7:38

So credit Bill Belichick for basically waiting

7:41

until the right moment to strike, you

7:43

know, to to get Cam when you know there weren't

7:45

a whole lot of offers on the table and get

7:47

him at you know, a great discount.

7:50

Um And then as you mentioned, it's also nice to leak

7:52

that news just before the bad stuff

7:54

comes, and so people are

7:56

paying attention. UM. As

7:58

for Cam, what

8:01

do you expect from him this year in that offense?

8:03

And where do you have him ranked right now? So

8:06

I have him ranked sixteen at

8:08

this point among quarterbacks, and uh,

8:11

he's in that like Ben Roethlisberger,

8:14

Philip Rivers, Baker Mayfield sort

8:16

of area for me. And

8:19

the good thing about Cam is that, I mean, he's not

8:21

gonna cost you anything, really I

8:23

think about it. He's not gonna be a top one pick.

8:25

There's still a lot of question marks. I mean, Marcus,

8:28

he hadn't scored a touchdown in four games

8:30

and he's had one rushing touchdown since

8:32

like October. So

8:35

it's not like we're getting Superman guaranteed.

8:39

The Cam Newton, who has been an m v P, who

8:41

has been, you know, a top five fantasy quarterback

8:43

for most of his career, we don't know forgetting

8:46

that. So the

8:48

position is super deep as well. So

8:50

he's a QB two and he's gonna be drafted

8:53

as a QB two and he's gonna

8:55

go out And I mean you could, you could say what you

8:57

want. If Kim is healthy, there's no competition,

8:59

would him and Jared's didn't? I mean, please, it

9:02

was the care for a second. So he needs to

9:05

be drafted across the board in every single league. He'll

9:07

be a late run pick. And if he can come back

9:09

and be you know, three quarters that Cam Newton,

9:11

that that we've all come to know and love, he's going to be a draft

9:13

bargain. And if if the struggles

9:15

continue with the arm uh, you

9:17

know, if the foot acts up, then

9:19

you didn't really invest a lot of draft capital

9:22

in him and he becomes a waiver wire fighter. Right.

9:24

Look, if you want to believe in having

9:27

added motivation, I mean for Cam, this

9:29

is a one year This is a chance

9:31

for him to sort of prove who that he

9:33

is the guy that he used to be and hopefully

9:36

get a longer term deal, whether it's from New England

9:38

or for somebody else. There is extra motivation

9:40

there for Cam to step up and play really

9:42

well this year. I've got him at fifteen,

9:45

So you and I are about the same in terms

9:47

of the quarterback rankings, and I

9:49

feel the same way, right, Like, why not take

9:51

a shot at him late, especially if you are

9:53

going to wait on quarterbacks, right, Um,

9:56

have that insurance, have that guy who if

9:58

it turns out, then everything is right

10:00

and Cam's good again and maybe he creeps into

10:02

the top ten, you're feeling great. If not, Like you

10:04

said, Fabbs, it's not like you, uh,

10:06

spend a high draft pick to to do that and

10:09

end up with nothing. So yeah, and he's thirty

10:11

one years old. I mean, like a lot of quarterbacks

10:13

are, you know, in the prime of their careers

10:15

at thirty one so old

10:17

and basically had a whole year off to rest and

10:19

recuperate, right, you know, so

10:22

we'll see um for the rest of the Patriots

10:24

offense. I mean, we talked about Julian Edelman

10:26

and to kill Harry Um. You know, you know,

10:28

James White is still probably gonna catch a lot of passes,

10:31

even even Sonny Michelle. I mean, what does this

10:34

do for them? Having Cam Newton

10:36

in this offense? So obviously

10:38

it helps everybody, like in terms

10:40

of the pass catchers because who would you

10:42

rather have Julian Edelman catching passes

10:45

from Stidham er Newton? I mean everyone say

10:47

Newton the same thing, when to kill Harry, same

10:49

thing. Well, Mohamed Sanu, who's not being drafted in a lot

10:51

of leagues right now. Um, the running

10:53

back position, I feel like the Patriots

10:56

the backs like Sony Michelle, especially because

10:58

he would be more of the guy who you're going to be utilizing

11:00

down near the goal line. You know, maybe he's affected

11:02

negatively because you know, once Cam

11:05

gets down inside that five yard line, you know, he's

11:07

a lethal weapon. Let's put it that way. And the

11:09

Patriots were what tied for third in red zone

11:12

rushing attempts last year, So the offense

11:15

has gotten down into the into the red

11:17

area a lot where where a

11:19

running quarterback, where a running back

11:22

uh can can take advantage of an

11:24

opportunity to to find paydirt. So I

11:27

think this is good for Cam. I

11:29

don't know that it's great for Sony Michelle in terms

11:31

of red zone opportunities. I don't know that it really changes

11:34

much in terms of James White, who typically

11:36

at least you wouldn't project him to be utilized

11:38

the whole heck of a lot down in the paint

11:41

the area down in the red zone. Yeah, I mean,

11:43

I think that's that's fair. I know people have said that

11:45

this will improve the Patriots running game, but that doesn't

11:47

necessarily mean that it improves Sony Michelle.

11:51

You just have another guy who can who can run the football.

11:53

So, uh, it's gonna be interesting. It's gonna

11:56

be fun to see Cam there in New England.

11:58

I think a lot of people who just are fans

12:00

of football are excited to see him get an opportunity

12:03

to play again. Because the game I think it's more

12:05

fun when Cam Newton is around.

12:07

So definitely looking forward to that.

12:09

Um, speaking of quarterbacks, let's let's

12:11

kind of shuffle the deck a little bit, right. We looked

12:13

at some top ten guys from last season.

12:16

Um, I'll give you three

12:18

names of guys who were in the top ten. You

12:21

tell me who's most likely to fall out, and then

12:23

you tell me who you think might jump in there

12:25

and replace them this year. So quarterbacks, Aaron

12:28

Rodgers, Matt Ryan both kind of fringe

12:30

top ten guys. Carson Wentz another fringe

12:32

top ten guy of those three, or maybe

12:35

there's another one in there. You you like, who

12:37

do you think is most likely to fall out of the top ten

12:39

and who jumps in in their place? So

12:42

I have Rodgers at eleven, I

12:44

have went to twelve. So

12:47

in the third quarterback that you mentioned with who

12:49

Matt Ryan, I have Matt Ryan in

12:51

the top ten? Yeah, I have at Ryan so all

12:54

close. Ryan's Ryan's eight. The

12:56

other two guys right outside of the top ten um

12:59

players that I think could move up into the

13:01

top ten. Like I mean, you guys know,

13:03

I'm a big fan of Daniel Jones. I don't know if he's gonna

13:05

be top ten, but he's got the capability to

13:07

beat top ten without question. Tom

13:09

Brady very likely is

13:12

going to get back up into that top ten area

13:14

now that he's in Tampa Bay.

13:16

I mean, Matthew Stafford could jump into the

13:18

top ten. He was on pace to be a top ten quarterback last

13:20

year before he got hurt. So those are some

13:23

of the guys that I could see sort of

13:25

jumping in, the likes of Rogers

13:27

for example, Uh, Matt Ryan,

13:29

I feel like it is going to end up being in the top ten.

13:31

And as I mentioned, wentz U Wentz

13:34

also right there for me and a

13:36

lot of it has to do wentce, you know, just avoiding

13:38

injuries getting out there starting fourteen and sixteen

13:41

games. He's got a lot of weapons. The Eagles are

13:43

gonna want to go deep and go vertical, so that

13:45

should help his value. Yeah. I definitely

13:47

like went Stony back into the top ten or just stay

13:49

in that top ten. I guess this year. Um, you mentioned

13:51

Matt Stafford, and I feel like that's one you

13:54

know, people are mentioning him. I don't want to say that nobody's

13:56

talking about Matt Stafford because that's not true.

13:58

But I do feel like when we talk about quarterbacks,

14:00

maybe he doesn't get niche in quite as often.

14:03

And you're right that. I mean through Week eight

14:05

or nine, Um, he was easily

14:07

a top ten quarterback and was a game

14:11

Yeah, I think. I think when he got hurt,

14:13

he had nineteen touchdowns and five interceptions,

14:15

right, which which puts him on pace for what would

14:17

have been the best touchdown to interception

14:20

ratio of his career. Uh

14:22

Now, obviously, back injuries are

14:24

tricky. I mean, he broke bones in his

14:26

back. That is a thing to definitely be cautious

14:28

about. But if the healing process

14:31

went well, if Matthew Stafford is able to be back.

14:34

We know he's got two very good receivers and Kimmy

14:36

Yalladay and Marvin Jones. They added

14:38

a talented running back in DeAndre Swift who

14:40

can catch the football, and a lot of us are thinking

14:42

that t J. Hawkinson is ready to take a big step

14:44

forward this year. I mean, all the pieces seem

14:46

in place for Matthew Stafford to kind of slide right

14:48

in. And this is a guy you want to talk about late

14:51

rounds. He's hanging around in the late rounds. It could

14:53

end up being a huge draft value for

14:55

somebody this year. Yeah, And there's a lot of quarterbacks

14:57

who could be draft values. I mean, I've

15:00

been involved in some of these uh F

15:02

s g A drafts for Sirius

15:04

XM, and I mean Aaron Rodgers

15:06

is going in the twelfth round and it's a four teen team

15:08

league, Marcus. I mean, and I get with

15:11

the experts out there. It's a little bit different than in uh

15:13

in leagues, where you know, folks are just having fun,

15:15

more casual, but they're hell

15:17

Cam Newton is going to be on that list now. Ben Robinsberger's

15:20

on that list, like Baker Mayfield potentially

15:22

be on that list. Daniel Jones, EDI's guy, he could

15:24

be on the lift. Two of quarterbacks who you

15:26

get late who end up really

15:28

out performing their draft value, are there? Are are their

15:30

draft position order?

15:33

The running backs? Uh, these guys,

15:35

some of them were solidly in the top ten

15:37

um but Leonard four

15:39

Nets, Mick Chubb, Austin

15:41

Ekeler, I mean, Xler was the RB four

15:44

after a huge start this season. Is

15:46

there one of those guys that you

15:48

feel like might not get back to top

15:50

ten status this year and who who

15:53

maybe jumps in in their place? I'm not. I

15:55

love Austin Ekeler, And you know, I

15:58

know that there are people out there will say, well, no Fiel

16:00

up Rivers and you know they bring in Joshua

16:02

Kelly. Okay, that's fine. I still

16:04

believe in Austin Nekela as a top ten running back.

16:06

Nick Chubb, I'm not. I'm not on board with as

16:08

a top ten running back. I see him get picked in the first

16:11

round, and I question why, Like I understand

16:13

if Nick Chubb was the featured back for the Browns,

16:15

he would be a top five pick. I love him,

16:17

He's talent, He's amazing. People

16:20

forget that Kariem Hunt.

16:22

It was an elite fantasy running back in Kansas

16:25

City. And last year when

16:27

the two guys were on the same you know,

16:29

on the same field at the same time, and then they

16:31

were out there together. I mean, we're talking about

16:33

eight games where the difference in fantasy

16:35

points was negligible. They basically

16:37

both averaged right around thirteen points a game.

16:40

Kareem was better as a pass catcher, Nick

16:42

was better as a rusher. But Nick's touchdowns

16:44

went way down. He went from six in the first half of the year

16:47

to two in the second half of the year. I

16:49

I don't see him. I mean, unless something

16:51

happens to Kareem Hunt, uh

16:53

and he's forced to miss time for one reason or another.

16:55

Nick Chubb is not a top ten fantasy running back.

16:58

Leonard Fournette I feel like I him

17:00

outside of my top ten as well. While the

17:02

touchdown should go up, he only at three last year.

17:04

I mean, reception total has been nan

17:06

it was like seventy six. They brought him Chris Thompson.

17:09

He's gonna eat away at some of those opportunities. So

17:11

I mean, I think Leonard can get you thirty to forty

17:13

catches, but you know, seventy plus it's not happening

17:15

again. Yeah, that's the thing. I mean, they brought

17:17

in a couple of guys who can catch the football. You mentioned

17:19

Chris Thompson. Leavisco Chanel, a guy that they

17:21

drafted can catch the football very well.

17:24

Was was just a Swiss Army knife at

17:26

Colorado and and probably will do some of the

17:28

same there. So I'm with you on four NET, very

17:30

much with you on Chubb. I've been saying that for a

17:32

while. I mean, in those eight games

17:35

that Kareem Hut played, you

17:37

saw a huge drop off of the number of

17:39

targets that Nick Chubb got, and I think,

17:42

uh, you're gonna continue to see that division

17:44

of labor there, uh for for the Browns

17:46

in their offense. I mean I think one,

17:48

you know, se Kwon Bartley was just at ten.

17:51

He's gonna move up obviously as long as he stays

17:53

healthy. I think Joe Nixon,

17:55

provided he doesn't hold out and play

17:57

sixteen games, I think he jumps

18:00

in there. Michael Sanders, there's another

18:02

one. So I was gonna mention Miles Sanders because he's

18:04

like he's such a mystery to me, right, Like as long

18:06

as the Eagles don't do anything else to

18:08

their backfield. I think Miles Sanders

18:11

has a huge potential. But you keep

18:13

hearing these rumors that Philadelphia is looking at

18:15

other running backs, other people to bring in. I mean,

18:17

but I can still hear rumors about Lashawn McCoy

18:19

coming in. I don't I don't know how much he has left in

18:21

the tank. Um, but we know Doug

18:24

Peterson doesn't like to rely on one running

18:26

back. If he changes that tune and

18:28

they give the gig to Miles Sanders, I'm

18:30

all in on him being a top ten guy. But my

18:33

fear is that, you know, when training camp starts whenever

18:35

that may be, uh, that the Eagles go out

18:37

and sign somebody and completely just

18:39

you know, submarine this whole effort.

18:42

So that's how I get

18:44

it. I mean, like you've heard DeVante at Freeman's

18:46

name, but he apparently

18:48

wants a little too much money and and maybe he's

18:50

not he's not really uh, you know,

18:53

worth the risk. Obviously your son agrees there's

18:55

me there with Devanta Freeman. Um, so

18:58

I feel like I like, uh,

19:00

Freeman would put a dent. But other than that,

19:03

I mean, think about the running backs that are available right now.

19:05

Who's on the street right now that that's really going to

19:07

scare you away from Miles standards, I

19:09

mean, Lashawn McCoy, Uh, wouldn't

19:12

scare me, Let's put it that way. And I still feel

19:14

like Miles Sanders would be the guy. And I also feel

19:16

like people are underestimating Boston Scott a little

19:18

bit. He came in last year in the second half

19:20

and he looked really good. He had some pretty big games.

19:23

So if the Eagles are willing to you

19:25

know, take you know, take Boston Scott

19:27

at what he was last season and utilize him as

19:29

a complimentary piece as a number two

19:31

behind Mile Centers, maybe they don't feel like they need

19:33

a running back. And at this point that's been the case

19:35

because they didn't do anything in the draft, they didn't didn't

19:38

do anything in free agency. They brought back Corey Clement.

19:40

So maybe they're happy with Miles Sanders as the number one.

19:43

Yeah, I mean maybe so, And I hope he would be a

19:45

good thing. There also wasn't under the name.

19:47

I think would be interesting Chinians right who when

19:49

he got when he got to Arizona

19:51

and just really took off, I mean part of it was

19:53

just that the Dolphins didn't seem all that interested

19:56

in giving him a featured back role. Clift

19:58

Juansbury had no album with it whatsoever.

20:01

Once he got to Arizona and he took

20:03

off, and you know, no pun intended. He ran with it.

20:05

Um. So you know, if you give

20:07

him that same workload, that same opportunity

20:09

over the course of six team games, I think there's a very

20:11

real chance Kenyan Drake could end up up.

20:14

Who is Drake's coach in Miami? Oh

20:17

yeah, Adam Gates rightly?

20:20

So yeah, Adam Um.

20:23

Alright, So let's move on to UH. To the wide

20:25

receivers, guys that were kind of fringe

20:28

top ten guys who could possibly fall out.

20:30

I think one is fairly easy.

20:32

Even you got DeVante Parker, who was there

20:34

right around Tim Julian Edelman. Um.

20:37

Maybe although now he's got Cam Newton, maybe

20:39

that's good enough to keep him in the top

20:41

ten. UH and Keenan Allen with who has

20:43

a completely different set up there now we're

20:45

not sure if it's Tyrod Taylor or Justin Herbert.

20:48

So between Keen and Allen, Julian Edelman,

20:50

DeVante Parker, I feel like I know at least

20:52

one of your answers, which one of those guys falls

20:55

out of the top ten, I think they all are.

20:58

I think that DeVante Parker efficiency

21:00

in that in that second half stretch is

21:03

not something he can duplicate. It's

21:05

not I'm sorry like to it telling Low

21:07

it's gonna be the quarterback there at some point during the course of

21:09

the season. And listen,

21:11

he's got a great rapport with Ryan Fitzpatrick, but

21:13

I don't think Fitzpatrick is gonna have the magic

21:16

to be a sixteen game starter, so

21:19

that's gonna happen. I feel

21:21

like with Keenan Allen, you

21:23

know, as good as he is, and he's gonna get a lot of targets,

21:25

like you know, the drop off from Pillifer's down to Tyrod

21:28

Taylor or rookie and Justin Herbert who you

21:30

know. I don't have a whole bunch of belief in long

21:32

term and certainly not sure term that's

21:35

gonna that's gonna be, you know, an issue for

21:37

him and Julian Edeman. While as

21:39

you mentioned, his value is going back up somewhat

21:41

the top ten with

21:43

with Cam only, I get it. Cam Newton is certainly

21:46

uh an upgrade over Jared Stidham. We still

21:48

all have questions about Kim Newton and whether or not he's

21:51

you know, he's gonna be a hundred percent going in its season.

21:53

Uh, what kind of offense they're gonna run in

21:55

terms of you know, you know, allowing Kim Newton

21:57

to maybe run a little bit more. So we

22:00

know Tom Brady never ran because he's get

22:02

a mobile dude. So I feel

22:05

like I feel like all three of those guys

22:07

will drop out and the guys that you'll see that

22:09

are gonna move into the top ten. You know you're

22:11

gonna see uh, you know, Mike

22:13

Evans could potentially end up being in the top ten.

22:15

Uh, he dropped out because he missed

22:18

time at the n last season due to injury leave. He was

22:20

fifteen. Uh, you know you're gonna end up seeing

22:22

Davante Adams to get back into the top ten. You're gonna see

22:24

Tyreek Hill get back in the top ten. I

22:27

really feel like there's, uh, there's a chance that a J.

22:29

Brown could in in the top ten. So the

22:32

wider secret position is deep. And one thing that I've learned

22:34

and doing drafts and box and stuff like that over the last month

22:36

or so is man get your running

22:38

backs in the first couple of rounds, going the round

22:41

three and four and you you could get Kenny

22:43

Galaity and d J. Moore, And I think that's that's

22:45

pretty solid. Yeah. You know, it's interesting too because

22:47

I think if you are able to get you

22:50

know, a couple of solid running backs at the top, then

22:52

you can spin fither the next five or six rounds

22:55

just stacking wide receivers um

22:57

and getting yourself a roster that you feel okay

23:00

about. And I know we don't spend a lot of

23:02

time talking about roster construction and

23:04

draft strategy and that sort of thing, but I do

23:07

feel like if you can get yourself, if

23:09

you're able to get one of those eleat running backs and even just

23:11

a solid number two guy, you don't

23:13

have to worry about running back for a long time

23:15

in your draft, and at that point you're sort of just trying

23:18

to pick values later in your draft. I think

23:20

that that's kind of an important thing to pay attention

23:22

to. When um,

23:25

so you know those are some of our top two Yet,

23:28

do you have any do you have any

23:30

thought of any rookies maybe not that could

23:32

possibly crack the top ten or at least challenge to

23:34

be in the town teen and anybody that that's a wide

23:36

receiver. Yeah, no,

23:39

I know, I know. I

23:43

think it's a surprise. Yeah. I mean, like you know, the

23:45

Cowboy Homer and me would love Ceedee Lamb to do

23:47

that, but that's not gonna happen in that offense with all the weapons

23:49

that they have with the Maria and gallop and

23:51

Jerry Judy as much

23:53

as I like him top ten with Coreland

23:56

Sutton ahead of him and a lot of mouths to feed in Denver,

23:58

I don't think that can happen, you know, Jalen

24:00

reagor Henry Reise. I mean, there's

24:03

Brian Listen. I can go through every single guy

24:05

that's that's that picked in the draft

24:07

and give you a reason why they're not going to be top ten. So heck.

24:10

I mean, Jerry Judy is is my highest rank

24:12

wide receiver out of the first year

24:14

guys. I mean he's not even in my

24:16

top thirty. So it's

24:19

it's it's one of those things where, um,

24:22

it's a deep talented position

24:24

and those guys are going to be the guys that

24:26

you're gonna be sort of throwing darts at sort

24:28

of in the middle to late rounds of your

24:31

draft. I have Judy at forty two.

24:33

I have CD at forty six, I have Regor

24:35

at forty nine, have Rugs at fifty, I

24:37

have i UK at fifty two. I mean, like that's

24:40

that's sort of where we're at. There isn't and

24:42

I mean typically, Marcus, you know this, dude, like what

24:44

your rookie wide receivers typically don't come out and put up

24:46

monster numbers, um, you know, so

24:50

you know, for every an Klin Bolden who

24:52

was tremendous as a rookie, you know, there's there's

24:54

there's ten guys out there who and

24:56

you know, hey, Calvin Johnson you had, he had a pretty

24:58

decent rookie year. But I mean it was at eight hundred yards

25:00

and maybe five touchdowns. Uh, And that's a good

25:02

rookie year for a wide receiver. You don't see

25:04

these elite numbers from most wide receivers in their

25:06

first year. So not a surprise. Yeah, No,

25:08

not a surprise at all. I was just curious if maybe you had

25:11

like a just some guy who had you know, a

25:13

big hot take on or just some sort of bananas

25:15

projection. My take on the rookie wide

25:17

receivers is quite cold. Uh. If it comes

25:19

to rankings, yes, I don't have them ranked very

25:21

highly right now. No, I think I think

25:23

uh, you know, I think that's a popular uh

25:26

too. So yeah, all right, um

25:29

so before we before we get out of here, Fabs,

25:31

I know you kind of have a major

25:33

announcement you would like to make sure I will give you the

25:35

floor here. Yeah. So, um

25:37

so this is gonna be my last podcast with the NFL.

25:40

Um uh, moving

25:42

on and doing some stuff with Serious x M.

25:44

As you guys already know, going to be working

25:46

on fantasy dirt, trying to focus on that a

25:48

little bit. Won't be my first time leaving

25:50

the podcast, right, Um. I

25:52

mean it's been like a

25:55

roller coaster ride with this cast I had.

25:57

Uh. It started as a radio show

26:00

on Sirius XM, ironically enough

26:02

with Jason Smith and Elliot Harrison, and

26:04

we used to do the fantasy

26:07

the fantasy version of the cantina right

26:10

Moistizele's pull up,

26:12

pull up a little mills and uh and talk a little

26:14

fantasy football and you know that

26:16

that ran for uh, that ran on Sirius

26:19

XM. And then then there was a time where the podcast

26:21

basically was just audio from NFL Fantasy Live,

26:23

which you know, wasn't really the best idea in the world.

26:25

But um, at that point, I don't think, you know, podcast

26:28

has sort of grown in popularity as

26:30

they are now. And then I was away

26:32

from the podcast for a little bit. Uh came back,

26:35

uh within the last one year or two, and

26:38

you know what now, I mean it's I'm

26:40

always trying to sort of grow and move

26:42

on and do different things, and having the opportunity

26:45

to do my own show on Sirius XM with

26:47

with Fantasy Dirt with Bob

26:49

Harris and Mike Dempsey a

26:51

lot of fun and it's sort of

26:53

something that I want to focus on a little bit. And

26:56

this, you know, gives somebody else the opportunity

26:59

over there to uh, you know, have

27:02

a little fun with the podcast as well. So, UM,

27:04

it's always been a pleasure working with you on the podcast, Marcus,

27:07

and maybe we've been doing this together for a long long time,

27:09

Eddie, you know, I love you, um

27:12

and I'm gonna miss working working with you

27:14

guys. I'm gonna miss uh and a miss

27:16

Q in the background crying and uh,

27:19

you know, given given his Fantasy football

27:21

takes before he can even say fantasy pot.

27:24

But um, for everybody out there, uh,

27:27

it's been a lot of fun. Just keep tabs

27:29

on my social media because I'm gonna have some other

27:32

announcements coming up here in the U

27:34

in the next few weeks. So

27:37

um, yeah, I mean it's

27:39

all good man. Uh, well, well we'll all be

27:42

in touch. UM don't know, but uh,

27:44

you know, it's always always been a pleasure. I mean we've

27:46

been Marcus, we've been working at a long time. Eddie, We've been here

27:49

a long time. So uh, you know, things

27:51

change, change is good, Yeah, no doubt. Yeah,

27:53

you talk about the evolution of this podcast. I remember

27:55

when I started, when I started working at the NFL

27:57

back in I mean, it was still these series,

28:00

a sex sim show. I think I sat

28:02

in on a couple of episodes. I think I might have sat in on one of the

28:04

fantasy can't see that uh segments.

28:06

We for that, you know, of

28:08

course. Yeah,

28:10

yeah, I mean just to see the kind of evolve. Absolutely,

28:13

it's been it's been a journey. Um,

28:15

you know, so I look forward to whatever, you

28:17

know, whatever you got next. I know the pop parents

28:20

might dem see a couple of really good smart guys

28:22

in this industry, So so that should be a lot

28:24

of fun as well. It will be a different

28:26

show without you, no doubt. There will be probably far less

28:28

yankee talk. Well,

28:31

Eddie and now Eddie's gonna take care of that. Eddie

28:33

will handle that. He'll make sure. I think yankee talk

28:35

continues, right, it would

28:37

just stink fabs if if you

28:40

know, they'll probably be a lot less cowboys talk. That's

28:43

a good thing. But I'm still hoping

28:47

to bring it back. Yeah, exactly, those j

28:49

World series you you might have to pop back in. Uh

28:52

absolutely, I just want them to be baseball or

28:54

some kind of sport. Geez the lead, Well there's

28:56

that too. We all are sort of hoping for that.

28:59

So uh so, you know, happy

29:01

trails. I'm sure we will see you on the other side

29:03

at some point, Paps, and it has. It has

29:05

been a ride, no doubt about it. So we

29:08

are done. We appreciate you listening

29:11

and downloading and watching and all of

29:13

that good stuff. You know the drill. Tell

29:15

two friends to tell two friends rate review and remember

29:17

fiction writing is great. You can make up almost anything.

29:20

Enjoy your fourth or July, stay safe,

29:22

take care of yourselves and we'll see you next Yeah

29:26

yet
