And now Move the Sticks with

0:03

Daniel, Jeremiah and Bucky

0:05

Brooks. What's up, everybody. Welcome

0:08

to move the Sticks, DJ and Rhett with

0:10

you today. Bucky will be back tomorrow.

0:12

He's actually a route down to San Diego to be around

0:15

me for the rest of the day. We're gonna grab some

0:17

great interviews at the MLB Winner meetings

0:19

for future podcast. So no Buck

0:22

today, we do have rhet htt Great to see you, buddy.

0:24

Uh And this is a fantastic

0:26

weekend of football to dig into.

0:29

Yeah, and you kind of got the day

0:32

after, so you get your birthday

0:34

present the day before. I guess I should

0:36

say, right, happy birthday. By the way,

0:38

you had a fantastic Sunday slate of

0:40

games, including another nail

0:42

biter for the Chargers. Right,

0:45

Chargers and Raiders. Always an interesting

0:47

one there, But look, this was this

0:49

was a fun Sunday in my book,

0:51

the best Sunday of the year in terms of how the schedule

0:54

shaked down, shook out and had some fun

0:56

on Game Day Live on Sunday. And now ready to kind of

0:58

dig into some of these things here with you. Yeah,

1:00

no, look, it's a good birthday present to have some good games

1:02

to discuss, and we can jump right in

1:04

here with the big three. Let's start off. Let's

1:06

start off Kansas City, Uh, Cincinnati.

1:09

This is a matchup that Cincinnati is just kind

1:11

of have handled the Kansas City Chiefs. Something

1:13

we don't say about and

1:16

Andy Reid, Yeah, I know, tune in a can.

1:18

That's that's no big deal. Let's say it's great. Uh, J

1:20

mar Chase, it's a great line. Um. Look

1:22

when I when I went back and watch this game again, I don't see

1:25

it live, so I dig in and watch the tape, and I

1:27

wanted to watch Joe Burrow and just see what he did.

1:29

And you know what, First of all, the thing that jumped

1:31

out to me threw out of more clean pockets than I remember.

1:33

Um, the offensive line is getting better. They're playing

1:36

better. And then Joe is just playing

1:38

with outstanding command and poise, his ability

1:40

to just be comfortable, get your feet in the ground,

1:43

trust your eyes, throw with anticipation. Um,

1:46

he was just in total control of this football

1:48

game. From what I watched. The opportune times

1:50

to take off and use his legs he did that as well.

1:53

The game looked really slow for him

1:55

watching that tape, right. Yeah,

1:57

And I love seeing him in these situations,

1:59

right and gage like he is just such a red

2:02

light player, right, like such a big game

2:04

player, Like the spotlight shines the brightest

2:06

and he shows up the biggest. And you

2:08

know, getting Jamaar Chase back, I was actually kind

2:10

of curious. So I was like, would they get a little over infatuated

2:13

with trying to get him back into the lineup, Whereas you

2:15

know, they were perfect in the month of November without

2:18

him utilizing the run game a little

2:20

bit and you saw some more T Higgins and Tyler

2:22

Boyd And that's kind of what I wanted to look at

2:24

DJ was the run game, because what's one

2:26

thing that you have to what is the thing

2:28

that you have to neutralize when you're

2:31

trying to be successful in the run against the Kansas

2:33

City Chiefs. What's Chris Jones right

2:35

up front? And they did a lot of different things

2:37

to try to get around Chris

2:39

Jones and to try to minimize his

2:42

impact on this game. Uh

2:44

And I mean like they trapped him with the tight

2:46

end, they were double

2:49

team in him a bunch. There was some they

2:52

even did some draw plays

2:54

to kind of neutralize his aggressiveness

2:57

up the field. They held him a little bit,

2:59

they ran away on them a lot, like, did a

3:01

lot of different things to try to keep Chris

3:03

Jones from wrecking the football

3:05

game. And here's the thing about some j P.

3:07

Ryan, who has subed in quite nicely for Joe

3:10

Mixon while he's been out. Like some running

3:12

backs run to daylight, right, some running

3:14

backs trying to find the open space, he runs

3:16

to destroy. And he is a physical

3:19

player and I think Justin Reid might

3:21

have found that out quite personally in this

3:23

game on on one of those stiff

3:26

arms and run support. So I've

3:28

been really impressed with the way that the Bengals have been

3:30

running the football. That interior trio

3:33

uh Wolson Harris

3:35

at center and Alex Cappa, I thought did

3:37

a really nice job trying to neutralize Chris

3:39

Jones. Yeah, and look, I'm not overly

3:41

concerned with the Kansas City Chiefs on this one. They lose

3:44

a three point game against a really good team at the Cincinnati

3:46

Bengals, but I am. I

3:48

am feeling like they're losing a little bit of that aura

3:50

of that invincibility that you had within the conference.

3:53

And I think when you look at Joe Burrow in the Cincinnati

3:55

Bengals. You look at Josh Allen with the Buffalo

3:57

Bills and the teams you're gonna have to get through to

4:00

get to a super Bowl, and I think there was kind of a fear

4:02

factor, and I look, Tyreek

4:04

Hill is a big part of that. You know, when you had him

4:06

in this offense, there's a fear factor. I know, people

4:08

can throw out all the stats and they're they're leading

4:11

the league in every statistical category. Patrick

4:13

Mahomes on his way to be an m v P. They don't miss Tyreek

4:15

Hill. But I feel like in games like this

4:17

and these big games, that was a big

4:19

moment, big game element to their

4:21

offense that you don't have there with Tyreek Hill.

4:24

So I think everybody kind of just dismissed that. You

4:26

know that they're winning a bunch of games and they have a bunch

4:28

of stats, but I think when you get against

4:30

the best teams, the teams you're going to play

4:32

on the road to a super Bowl, that

4:35

that's a that's a void absolutely

4:38

avoid for that team. Yeah, but I mean they

4:40

had him last year in those matchups, it's

4:42

still lost. So I mean I understand

4:44

your point. Well, no, that what that makes me, wonder

4:47

where that gap goes. Where does that gap

4:49

go going forward? Then you

4:52

know, exactly does it get bigger? Um?

4:54

You know, and does the margin I think the margin for

4:56

error gets smaller, right, I think that's

4:58

part of this thing too. And like this was a

5:00

close game. This is a game UM that I

5:02

think the Bengals really dominated in the fourth quarter.

5:05

UM. And and they kind of proved that they're one of those teams

5:07

that can close games out. UM.

5:09

And that's usually that final

5:11

fifteen minutes is usually where Patrick

5:14

Mahomes you know, is at his best, and

5:16

you know he's kind of pedestrian day, you know, just two U

5:19

or twenty three yards passing UM.

5:21

You know. They I think the extra five minutes a time

5:23

of possession for the Bengals, while maybe

5:25

not statistically, you

5:27

know, extremely significant, pays off

5:29

in a game like this with the Chiefs if you can minimize their

5:32

possessions. The only ran fifty four plays. So UM,

5:34

I think the Bengals did all the right things in this one. Deach.

5:37

Yeah, No, it's uh. It's a Cincinnati

5:39

Bengals team that's getting hot at the right time and playing

5:41

their besttball. So big win for them over the Kansas

5:44

City Chiefs. Let's get to another huge matchup

5:46

here. This was an a f C NFC class

5:48

between two head coaches very familiar with one another.

5:51

Uh that's some Miami Dolphins and two A talkobla.

5:53

They go on the road, take on a very tough

5:55

San Francisco team, and the

5:57

score as you see it on the bottom there, thirty three

5:59

to seventeen. I don't think it's indicative of the game.

6:02

I went back and I wanted to watch it. From Toa's

6:05

standpoint, I really want to dig in and study him

6:07

because you know, you're following, you're watching

6:09

a game live, you're calling a game, you keep an eye on social media.

6:11

And it was like, oh man, two was having a terrible ball game,

6:13

um, and they're really getting exposed against

6:16

this great forty Niners team. Then I watched

6:18

the tape reet it's twenty three to seventeen.

6:21

There on the other side of the fifty was six minutes

6:23

left with a chance to go down and win this ball game. Then

6:25

it gets away. You have a turn over late.

6:27

But you know when I studied that

6:30

game from two is since he

6:32

missed a couple throws, um.

6:34

But they also got some big chunk plays

6:36

down the field. I thought the difference in the

6:38

game, the reason why they were able to slow down this Miami

6:41

Dolphins attack really

6:43

was the second level. I mean, I know you'll

6:45

get to Bosa in their pass rush, but

6:47

I thought the depth of the linebackers, led

6:50

by Fred Warner, he was able to get underneath

6:52

and disrupt so many of those crossers

6:54

that they live on in this offense.

6:56

Their linebackers, all of them getting depth.

6:59

I thought they probably have adjusted and taking

7:01

some shallow crosses, taking some of those underneath

7:03

throws, but the intermediate stuff

7:05

they eliminated. They eliminated those intermediate

7:07

throws in this ball game. And you know you

7:09

you'd like to see two of probably trying to hang onto that

7:11

ball just a little bit longer to wait for

7:14

some of that stuff to pop on that second level.

7:16

But he couldn't. I mean, Nick Bosa is

7:18

in his face. I mean generated seven pressures

7:20

in this game, three sacks. I mean, I

7:22

look at the different ways that they tried to neutralize

7:24

Nick Bosa. I mean they got one

7:27

of those times where the tight end chip

7:29

actually backfires. You get the Dolphins

7:31

tight end early in the game trying to chip him.

7:33

He does like this spin move, ends up

7:35

in the a gap all alone and has

7:38

a free shot on two

7:40

and Togo Vyloa and and really I mean

7:42

put a big lick on him. Uh. And

7:44

then he had a couple of times where the running back

7:46

tries to come in and cut him down. He's just so athletic

7:49

he can put his hands down, kind of

7:51

get by that cut block, jump over,

7:53

and continue to accelerate to the quarterback.

7:56

You know, I think back to what Mike McDaniel was saying talking

7:58

about this game and talking about the effect that Joey

8:00

Bosa or Nick Bosa can have on it, and

8:02

he's like he just he lives.

8:05

He eats, and he breathes pass rushing.

8:07

Like if he sees like a stop sign

8:10

that he's walking by, like he'll do a pass a rushing

8:12

move on at first there's a hand sanitizer

8:14

station, like he'll do a pass rush move

8:17

against it, like just always on his mind.

8:19

He's like the Parkour pass rusher um.

8:22

And so you really saw that in this game.

8:24

And there's so many different ways in which the

8:26

Dolphins tried to affect him and to take

8:28

him and to give two of that extra beat to get the ball

8:30

out and he just finds ways around it.

8:33

Just such a dynamically athletic

8:35

and explosive guy getting after the passer. And

8:38

those three sacks, um you know, I mean that

8:40

could have been a couple more too. And then look,

8:42

it's tough for the Dolphins when you're down. You know

8:44

your your top two tackles in

8:46

Austin Jackson and uh

8:48

In Toronto Armstead. But you

8:50

know that's a tough one. That is a tough, tall

8:52

task And I think that's exactly how Mike McDaniel

8:55

put it after the game, trying to slow down uh

8:57

Nick Bosa and as you know, seeing Joey,

8:59

I mean, those dudes are closers and Mayken wreck games.

9:03

Yeah, and there's three types of game plans.

9:05

There's good game plans, there's bad

9:07

game plans, and then there's asking tight ends

9:09

and backs to block Nick Bosa. That's like a whole another

9:11

level of a bad let's not let's

9:13

not do that. He's got fourteen and a half sacks

9:15

right now to lead the national football Like now, the

9:17

big story coming out of this one, Reht was the quarterback

9:19

on the other side. Unfortunately, Jim Mcgaroppolos will

9:22

be lost for the year. Brock Purty goes

9:24

into this ball game. I know you've got a chance to to

9:26

see him at an All Star game. I know you have a chance

9:28

to look at him in this ball game. Is Brock Purty

9:30

in your opinion you feel comfortable with him going

9:32

forward? Or the fact that Baker Mayfield just got

9:35

released a few a few minutes ago from

9:37

the Carolina Panthers, does that become

9:39

a better option here for the forty Niners. Okay,

9:42

So I think there's a couple of points to that discussion

9:44

here. Let's just start with Purty, uh, you know,

9:46

and I'll get to a couple of plays of him here just a

9:48

second. And here's the thing. We did see him at the

9:50

Shrine. Bold, Bucky and I were there all week, watched him

9:52

in practice, talk to the NFL coaches

9:55

about him. And I went back and looked

9:57

at my my spotter chart and what I wrote

9:59

down on what the coaches were telling me about Purty

10:02

from that week, and they're like, great

10:04

leader, terrific command of the

10:06

offense in a short period of time, understands

10:09

defenses, knows where pressure is

10:11

coming from, and is able to deliver the ball

10:14

accurately and He was such a big part

10:16

of that Iowa State kind of renaissance under

10:18

Matt Campbell, such a productive college

10:20

quarterback there at Iowa State, and you can

10:23

see why and some of those things that those NFL

10:25

coaches were telling us at the Shrine Bowl, you saw

10:27

in this game in a really tough spot for a rookie.

10:30

So this is the dude. I just feel like has

10:32

a lot of work to do because early on it

10:35

wasn't pretty and he took some time to settle

10:37

into this game. And I know things are different

10:39

for backup quarterbacks when you

10:42

know, as opposed to coming in and filling

10:44

in for an injured starter and then to have go out

10:46

there and be the full time starter, things

10:48

can be a little bit different. I get that, but

10:50

I think there's a lot to build on from

10:52

brock Purty here. And there's a reason that

10:54

the San Francisco forty Niners were comfortable

10:57

with him being QB two when Trey Lance

10:59

went down and didn't go out and get somebody else. This

11:01

wasn't the first time we've seen him. He's had a couple of snaps

11:03

here and there. He was Mr. Irrelevant in the draft

11:05

um but has proven to be quite relevant

11:08

here for the forty Niners, and I was just really impressed

11:10

in some big spots, some of the throws

11:13

that he made. He can get out, He's athletic enough to do

11:15

what they want to do offensively, move in the

11:17

pocket, some of that boot action and stuff.

11:19

So I was really impressed with

11:21

what Rock Party showed us there. Yeah,

11:23

I'll be I'll be honest. I was surprised at

11:25

how well he played. I went back and looked through my notes

11:27

as well. You know, coming to the draft process, you mentioned

11:30

Mr Relevant. Look, he's he's under six six

11:32

oh five two and or twelve pounds. He ran four eight

11:34

four. He's not super super athletic. He

11:36

did start forty seven games there at Iowa

11:38

State, played a lot of football last year,

11:41

seventy nineteen touchdowns,

11:43

eight picks. Um. I thought

11:45

he held the ball a little bit too long. I questioned his

11:47

vision. I just thought overall his tool kit, he was

11:50

just very average in terms of the tools that

11:52

he possessed. I remember when

11:54

they bench Matt Ryan in Indianapolis and

11:56

it was Sam Ellinger and it was kind

11:58

of young and it was different, right, and we're gonna try this

12:01

thing out. I just have a film we'll see

12:03

with brock Purty. But I have a feeling kind of the more you

12:05

see here, the longer he plays, you

12:07

know, I think you'll see a little bit more of who he

12:09

is. And I don't know if that's gonna be a player

12:11

that can voice a trophy here for a team that's ready

12:14

to win a championship. So if I'm looking

12:16

at it right now and I'm looking at the opportunity

12:18

to go get a Baker Mayfield, who's been someone

12:21

who's played well in this league and number one overall

12:23

pick, I think talent wise, he's on another level,

12:26

uh than brock Purty. Now it hasn't worked on Carolina,

12:29

Yes, I think I just think that's you know, put him

12:31

around that with the pieces you have in placed there. I think

12:33

that makes more sense. And I people will

12:35

think I'm crazy. I would at least kick the tires on Philip Rivers.

12:37

I'd call him see if he'd be interested all uh in

12:40

coming back and doing it, because I think this team,

12:42

if you just make good decisions, get the ball where it's

12:44

supposed to go. Oh yeah, I would still I would

12:46

still call him up. I know I'll get I'll get

12:49

heat for that at oh, he's been out of the league for almost two

12:51

years. The last I saw him, he played, he was playing

12:53

winning football. His skills had deteriorated, but

12:55

he was. Look where the Colts went after him

12:57

and what that looked like after he left. So

13:00

it's an upgrade, that's all I'm saying. And a Baker

13:02

Mayfield, Philip, I don't think their quarterback

13:05

is on the roster right now that they'll trot out in the playoffs.

13:08

I'll just put it that way. Yeah, but

13:11

you know, how long does it take to get up

13:13

to speed? I mean that we're talking about week thirteen,

13:15

you know, and you're getting

13:18

down to it here. If you're the forty niners, they

13:20

did uh, I think they went and got Josh Johnson,

13:22

who might have already played for the forty Niners three different

13:25

times in his career. So

13:27

I think you've got a guy, You've got a veteran

13:29

presence there to at least back up rock party

13:32

in the near term. But I wouldn't mind them

13:34

looking at another veteran option, a guy

13:37

that's had a lot of starting experience like Baker

13:39

Mayfield there. Yes, shoot, why not give

13:41

Philip Rivers a call? I mean I

13:43

don't know if you want to see him running around, you know

13:46

on some of those uh some

13:48

of the way they use that play action out there in San

13:50

Francisco. But you can sit back there and

13:52

sling it around a little bit. Just one more thing

13:54

on Purty. You know, I was watching there

13:56

was a four there was another third down play and

13:58

I just like I wrote when I was watching it, no guts,

14:00

no glory, Like this dude is not afraid of anything.

14:03

Like he absolutely, I mean fired

14:05

a ten yards about a spot

14:08

route from Deebo Samuel, super tight

14:10

coverage, tight window throw like he is not

14:12

afraid to let it rip and give his guys a chance

14:14

to go make a play on it. So I think that I

14:16

think Kyle Shanahan really likes what he sees in pretty

14:19

now. Long term, that's obviously the question

14:21

here. Long term for this season. I mean, yeah,

14:24

I know Matt Campbell wishes he probably still had him

14:26

as well as Briest Hall Iowa state team this

14:29

year. One quick thing on these on this game

14:31

before we move on. Last thing. The Miami Dolphins have

14:33

just signed Eric Fisher again, a former

14:35

number one overall pick spent

14:37

the majority of his career with the Kansas City Chiefs trying to help

14:39

out their tackle situation. So interesting

14:42

move there. Alright, one more game here, let's get to

14:44

it. The final of the Big Three. That is Tennessee in Philadelphia

14:46

in a in an A. J. Brown

14:49

revenge game? Is that what we're calling it. It It was a butt kicking,

14:51

is what it was. But your take on that one,

14:53

rit, Yeah, I mean, look, A J. Brown's

14:56

on a on a different level. And you

14:58

know, I think when you look at the Tennessee Titans

15:00

and understand that coming into this game, Robert Woods

15:02

was their leading receiver, which is great, except

15:04

when you find out that his reception

15:06

total and yardage total is the lowest

15:09

of any team's leading receiver. Now,

15:11

part of that is a product of how the Titans want to run

15:13

their offense through Derrick Henry. I get that,

15:16

um, but you just you can't look at that

15:18

team and be like, man, there is a place

15:20

for a J. Brown here, right, I

15:22

mean, like that's when this offense is clicking. When

15:24

teams have to respect what number eleven

15:26

in green does uh for the Eagles

15:29

now and what he was doing for the Titans in the early

15:31

part of his career. But I understand the financial

15:34

component of it. And so when you look at it from that

15:36

perspective, trail and Burke's who has

15:38

missed some time this year. I think he's only played eight games,

15:40

but the last three games for the best three games he's

15:42

played this year, so he was really starting to come

15:44

on. I look back at his two games coming

15:46

into this one, he had eleven catches, six

15:49

of those go for first downs. UM

15:51

and and then in this game he only played

15:53

seven snaps, had the unfortunate

15:56

head injury that they're dealing with now. But on

15:58

that one catch he had was beautiful, Like that's where

16:00

he should live, Like in the slot running one of those

16:03

benders, big physical presence, takes

16:05

the hit, hangs onto the football. Unfortunately has

16:07

to leave the game after that. But man, I'm

16:10

I'm excited about what Trailing Burkes can do this.

16:12

I mean, they're starting to use him a bunch in the motion game

16:14

like we saw at Arkansas. UM. I think there's

16:16

a lot to like there, but it's just it pales

16:19

in comparison right now to what

16:21

a J. Brown can give you. And

16:24

you know, look back at at the trade in totality

16:26

DJ, they traded eighteen and one oh one

16:29

to the Philadelphia Eagles. Uh,

16:31

or rather they traded A. J. Brown for eighteen

16:34

and one on one one on one they ended up packaging

16:36

in that Jermaine Johnson deal that the Jets traded

16:38

back up into the first round to get, and so they

16:41

ended up with three additional players. Can't give him

16:43

credit for all those players, right because it was only one

16:45

pick from the A. J. Brown trade, But

16:47

they ended up with Roger McCreary, Nicholas

16:49

Petit Frere, and Kyle Phillips. McCreary

16:51

and Chief Fair played a ton for him this year's

16:53

rookies. So I mean, like it does take some

16:55

time to evaluate these trades, but it's

16:58

obvious where the Eagles are with

17:00

A. J. Brown as the clear winners at

17:02

this point. Yeah to me, and I just look

17:04

at where the team was with the Titans in

17:06

terms of trying to win right now, the number

17:08

one seed, You've got a running back you're

17:10

paying good money to to try and get those

17:13

last you know, a few years out of it was

17:15

kind of just an odd timing to them kind

17:17

of pivot and kind of come with the youth movement

17:19

there and not pay the money there to A

17:21

J. Brown from the Eagle standpoint, real quick

17:23

pass rush, completely dominant.

17:25

Um, you look at that side of the ball. They just got

17:27

after him. Up front, it's waves and waves of defensive

17:30

lineman. You're taking notes. Josh Sweat is

17:32

winning outside, he's winning on inside

17:34

rushes, dominant. You saw

17:36

Sue flash a little bit, get some penetration.

17:39

Then you've got Reddit coming off

17:41

the uh off the edge, who's

17:43

got big time, big time burst. So

17:46

they've got so many different guys they can throw

17:48

at you. Fletcher Cox picked one up, Hardgrave

17:51

got after it. It's just a really deep, talented

17:53

group there with the Philadelphia Eagles,

17:55

So hats off to them and their pastor has taken

17:57

over and dominating the football game from that side.

18:00

So a very impressive win for

18:02

the Philadelphia Eagles. All Right, we're gonna take a quick

18:04

break. We've got plenty more to get to here

18:07

on a Monday again, some incredible games.

18:09

Will dig into the rest of them when we get back

18:11

right after this. NFL

18:41

right, this is a game between two teams with

18:43

good records, um, that are both

18:45

chasing a playoff birth and I feel like nobody

18:47

believes in either one of them here with Washington

18:50

uh and the Giants here. What was your takeaway

18:52

from this ball game that ended in a

18:54

lovely tie? Yeah,

18:56

you know, it feels like everyone's waiting for the other shooting

18:59

dropped, like with both of these teams. Like, all right, when

19:01

does you know Taylor Heineke turned into a pumpkin?

19:03

Right? And when do the you know, when does

19:05

Daniel Jones you know, prove again that

19:08

he is not the guy in New York. Well,

19:10

I got news for you, Like, Daniel Jones is not

19:12

going quietly into the night here, um, in

19:14

this season and and in his career

19:17

right now. I mean, like, this guy is playing some good football and

19:19

you think about what he's doing, um

19:21

with the targets that he has, it makes it

19:23

all the more impressive and twelve

19:26

carries in this game for seventy one rushing

19:28

yards, and some of them were scrambles. Sure

19:30

saw some pressure, got out of it and made some nice plays,

19:32

ran for some first downs. There were some QB design

19:35

runs as well, which again in

19:37

today's league, like you need a player like Daniel

19:39

Jones that has that type of mobility. And

19:42

he was judicious with the football.

19:44

He took care of the football.

19:46

He was efficient thirty one in this

19:48

game when you include the overtime, just one

19:50

touchdown, zero interceptions. I

19:53

just feel like there was a lot to like about what Daniel

19:55

Jones did there. But again only through for two yards

19:58

and they only put up twenty points. So what does that

20:00

tell you, Well, um, you know, they're

20:02

just they're not an explosive team through

20:05

the air and and in the passing game, and the safe

20:07

Kwon Barkley isn't pulling off chunk plays

20:09

here, and they're like, it's gonna take them some

20:12

possessions in some time to move the football

20:14

down the field, which is okay unless you get

20:16

behind or unless you need you know, touchdowns

20:18

at the end, or you know, like in this case, the

20:21

throw that Daniel Jones made to get in

20:23

field goal range at the end of overtime fifty

20:25

eight yard or for Graham good Oh, which he missed.

20:27

I mean, it was like a textbook like he just

20:30

maneuvers, sidesteps some pressure after the left

20:32

guard gets beat really quickly fires it

20:34

on the money ball over the middle in

20:36

front of a couple of defenders and they

20:38

have a chance to go win that game. So that's

20:41

kind of my point, Like Daniel Jones gives

20:43

the Giants a chance to win football games.

20:46

They just don't have enough on the

20:48

perimeter to scare anybody

20:51

out of dealing with you know, stacking

20:53

the box to deal with Sa Kwon Barkley, and they don't

20:55

have anybody to to like vertically

20:57

really stretched the field. Now that wan Dale Robinson has been

20:59

hurt, the Tredy Candarius Tony, Kenny Golladay

21:01

is what it is at this point. Um. I mean,

21:03

credit to Isaiah Hodges who's done some nice

21:05

things for him, But I mean, like, you

21:07

know, we could get Daniel Jones some help

21:10

to really understand what he can do for this team.

21:12

You know, it's interesting you flip that over to the

21:15

commander's side and you talk about the lack of weapons

21:17

with the Giants. I think that the Commanders

21:19

might have the most like clearly

21:22

defined one, two, and three, Like they have

21:24

a number one wide receiver and Terry mclarnas

21:26

twenty seven years old, who just got paid and is

21:28

one of the best in the business right now. I think

21:30

he's a clear number one. Curtis Samuel

21:33

has proven to be a really good sidekick,

21:35

a really good number two wide receiver.

21:37

He's got over five hundred yards already this

21:39

year, he's got fifty four grabs. I think

21:41

he's a really solid number two receiver.

21:43

And then you have the rookie here and John

21:46

Dotson is twenty two years old, who

21:48

I think is everything you kind of want. And that third receiver

21:50

with what he can bring and what he does for this ball

21:53

club, I think all of them can move around to if you

21:55

wanted to, you can play him inside or outside. I think all of

21:57

them are interchangeable in that regard with

21:59

their skills. That's they can all get on

22:01

top. They can all it's a it's a really

22:03

good group. So Taylor Heineke has

22:05

got a lot of credit for this team winning ball games, and he's

22:07

been kind of labeled a winner. But I look at these two

22:09

teams in a tie ball game, and I look at what

22:11

Daniel Jones was doing with who he's

22:14

thrown too, and then I look at at Heinek

22:16

putting up the same total plan with much better

22:19

players out there on the perimeter. I thought it

22:21

was interesting a little uh comparison

22:23

when you look at the groups that they're playing with and the numbers

22:26

tell the same story. Seven explosive

22:28

plays through the air for the Commanders, you

22:30

don't know how many for the Giants. One

22:34

like that's it. I mean that that is part of

22:36

the difference here in these

22:38

two teams certainly, and in the Giants

22:41

upward mobility in that division and look,

22:43

honestly in the conference, no

22:45

doubt. Well, anyways, interesting ball game

22:47

there ins in the tie. Really nothing was decided

22:50

in that one. So everybody has their opinion

22:52

on on those two teams and they left with the

22:54

exact same opinion there before the game started.

22:56

Let's get to another one here, Let's get to another

22:58

one. This is a fun game to watch. Actually saw a little

23:00

bit this one before the Chargers Raiders

23:03

game, and that was the Jets at the Vikings.

23:05

The game, the Vikings had a big lead, the Jets

23:07

came storming back, but they couldn't quite finish

23:09

it. It was a big win at home for

23:11

the Minnesota Vikings. I thought, really the key to this ball game

23:14

was the defense in the red zone for

23:16

the Vikings, forcing so many field goals.

23:18

The Jets marched the ball up and down

23:20

the field. You look at the total yardage,

23:23

uh in their favor. They dominated it,

23:25

but they couldn't finish only one touchdown

23:28

on six red zone possessions. Yeah. Absolutely,

23:30

So when you go back and look at it, a couple of things

23:32

stood out to me. Number One, when they

23:35

got inside the red zone, the Vikings did a good

23:37

job of knocking them off schedule on early

23:39

downs. So then you look at those

23:41

possessions, there's a third and seven, a third

23:43

and sixteen, another third and seven, a third

23:45

and ten, a third and five, with

23:47

a couple of third and ones mixed in there. But they

23:50

made it a difficult challenge

23:52

when they got to third down, and when they got them in third

23:54

and long, they did the same thing they

23:56

rushed for they played coverage. They were

23:58

able to get just enough pressure, and they were able

24:01

to just just kind of cloudy the

24:03

vision there for Mike White with

24:05

a lot of guys back there in coverage, a little bit

24:07

of two men they were running there as well as some match

24:09

coverage. But I thought they had a

24:11

really good game plan. But it started by

24:13

getting them off schedule on early downs.

24:15

It's hard. It's hard to convert third

24:17

and longs inside the red zone. A

24:19

lot easier when you find yourself in third and two's

24:22

third and threes. Negative plays of the red

24:24

zoner just brutal, I mean absolutely,

24:26

I mean it's drive killers. That's what turned six

24:28

into three obviously. And then the Jets had four

24:30

straight fuel goal opportunities

24:33

from the second through the fourth quarters where that was their only

24:35

points. Certain line from sixty thirty

24:37

six thirty twenty six, which explains

24:39

your red zone argument there, and those

24:41

last three field goal opportunities, and like you

24:43

know, good for him, ends up hitting all those, but

24:46

it's just not enough. And and so you

24:48

waste the terrific effort from your defense.

24:50

Who keeps Dalvin Cook under a hundred,

24:53

Kirk Cousins under two hundred, and Justin

24:55

Jefferson under fifty. You have

24:57

got to win the football game when your defense

25:00

he's that good against one of the best offenses in

25:02

football, and they don't and so

25:04

that that is part of the problem. And it wasn't for lack

25:06

of the yardage. Three for sixteen on third down tells

25:08

a part of that story as well. Um, but

25:10

like wasn't for a great it was not for a great,

25:12

great effort from Garrett Wilson. I mean, who did

25:15

his part in this game. And I looked back, he was targeting

25:17

fifteen times, only caught eight of them. So like there's

25:19

you know, there's something there as well. But man,

25:22

you go back to how we had. Remember you and

25:24

I had a bunch of discussions about the receiving class

25:26

coming into last year's draft. You know, Chris a

25:28

Lava Garrett Wilson up there, and I

25:30

was, you know, I was a sucker for not a

25:32

sucker, but I was in love with with the way that Chris

25:34

LaVey ran his routes. I mean just so silky

25:36

smooth. I wanted him to I wanted to make it

25:39

my top wide out. And then you kind of kept

25:41

telling He's like, no, you gotta you gotta watch how

25:43

physical Garrett Wilson is with the football

25:45

in his hands, and just how how much of a complete

25:48

player he really is. I mean, obviously he's explosive,

25:50

can get the ball down the field. But the

25:52

way that he can make guys miss um.

25:54

I mean a couple of the plays in this game with the

25:56

run after catch in you

25:59

throw the content yards the contact in there too,

26:01

and it's like, I mean, this dude

26:03

is an absolute stud. He goes for eight eight

26:05

catches, hundred sixty two yards. He had a sixty

26:07

yard or in this game. Didn't get into the

26:09

end zone. But I mean he is a

26:12

game changing player.

26:14

And if the Jets can figure things out

26:16

consistently a quarterback man, they got

26:18

a good one for years to come. Here. Yeah, he's

26:20

electric, um, And that was Stefon Diggs

26:22

was the comp there and that's what he looks

26:24

like running around out there. I mean, he's a he's a

26:26

big time talent. All Right, we're gonna take a break red

26:29

we come back. Interesting discussion to have with the Detroit

26:31

Lions. It's a big win for them, but we want

26:33

to forecast forward and what did they

26:35

do at the most important position in sports?

26:37

Will jump into that right after this. All

26:43

right, let's jump back in here talking about

26:45

a Detroit Lions team with a big win

26:48

over Jacksonville. And there's a couple of different layers

26:50

to this thing that I want to get to Red. I'm actually gonna get

26:52

it over to you first because I want to get your thoughts on on the

26:54

number one and number two overall picks, uh,

26:56

and what you saw from that. I want to come back and

26:58

we can dig into what the quarterback

27:01

position looks like with the Lions and how this draft

27:03

is going to kind of connect with their needs.

27:05

So why don't you start us off here just what you saw from those

27:07

two guys. Anytime you see number one versus number

27:09

two in a draft, like it's a good story, right,

27:11

we've seen that. We usually you see it with quarterbacks,

27:14

right, and we've seen that certainly over the course

27:16

of the last few years. But it was, you know, Golf

27:18

and wentz Or Mariota and Winston,

27:20

and now we got Walker and Hutchinson, right,

27:23

the two edge rushers who went one and two. Obviously,

27:25

Trayvon Walker going number one out of Georgia of the

27:28

Jacksonville Jaguars and then Adan Hutchinson number

27:30

two to his hometown Lions. There So,

27:32

and you think back to all the conversations we

27:34

had about this, and I think there was some trepidation

27:37

you know, kind of as

27:39

a popular opinion about whoa, we're Trayvon

27:41

Walker coming out of nowhere here and you uh

27:44

to be like the project that as the number one overall

27:46

pick, and you're like, well, I mean, you look at the skill

27:48

set, you look at the athleticism, you look at the tools

27:50

that he has. Man, if this dude puts it all together,

27:53

like you might be a you know, it might be that Miles

27:55

Garrett type of player, right, might be that transcendent

27:57

type of pass rusher, and you didn't

28:00

see it a lot on his college state. Well,

28:02

the opposite right for Hutchinson, who had the terrific

28:05

production um was a key piece

28:07

of Michigan's Big Ten Championship run. Polished

28:10

pass rusher had a lot of tools in his

28:12

tool kit that he could throw out there in past

28:14

rushing scenarios. And that's kind

28:16

of what you saw in this game. And like both

28:19

players that thought played pretty well in this game. Hutchinson

28:21

just at this point still looks like

28:23

the more polished player, Like he had a spin move

28:25

in this game that was like at the end of the game,

28:28

like under a minute, the game's well in in hand,

28:30

and this dude still, you know, obviously a percent

28:32

effort and spin move on Walker little.

28:35

I mean I was like, whoa, there

28:37

goes Dwight Freeney again, like it was, it was that good.

28:40

And he gets to Trevor Lawrence there he

28:42

had a sack in this game. Um,

28:44

you know, he he just has so many different ways

28:46

that he can beat you, whereas right now Trayvon Walker

28:49

feels like if it's not power, it's

28:51

nothing. And he can generate some

28:53

pressure with that power and in converting

28:55

some of that speed to power, and you see that a lot with

28:58

him, But there just isn't that variety

29:01

of moves. I do like that they move them around a little

29:03

bit kind of you put his hand in the dirt almost

29:05

as like a five tech inside sometimes and

29:07

you start running some of those some

29:09

of those games inside down there, and he could be a real

29:11

factor in the interior two, which is kind of cool.

29:14

Um, And I think he's gonna be a really, really, really

29:16

good player. It's just right now, Hutchinson just a little

29:18

bit ahead. Yeah, And we knew that coming

29:20

in, and we knew that Aidan Hudson arrived as more

29:22

of a finished product and it was more of a work in progress

29:25

there with Trayvon Walker, but you can dream on what he can be.

29:27

Plays hard, dominates against the run, and

29:29

he provides some upside hopefully here in the future

29:31

as a pass rusher. Alright, So last year, Aidan Hudginson

29:33

the second pick for the Detroit Lions. As

29:36

it stands right now, they're holding a top

29:38

five pick courtesy of the Rams

29:40

and the Matthew Stafford trade. So that would

29:42

be as the season, uh sits

29:45

right now, would be the number four overall pick,

29:47

which would put them in range of a quarterback.

29:50

Think about the teams picking ahead of them, the Bears with Justin

29:52

Fields, they're not taking one of the Seahawks.

29:54

Uh shoot, the way that they're getting quarterback

29:56

play right now from Gino Smith, don't know they're going to

29:58

be in the quarterback market. So you could have

30:01

a chance to get one of the top two quarterbacks in

30:03

this draft class if you're the Lions.

30:05

Now the question is, Rhett,

30:07

you look at Jared Goff and the way

30:09

he's playing, the way this offense has

30:12

really started to get going. Here the

30:14

the the obvious

30:16

upgrade over him. I don't know that

30:19

that obvious upgrade exists. Picking

30:21

fourth in this draft, I

30:24

don't. I don't know, and I look at Okay, I

30:26

know exactly what I have with Jared Goff, I can address

30:28

another need. I think that the Jets, you

30:30

know, a little bit of a cautionary tale here,

30:33

Um and we'll see how Zack Wilson's career

30:35

unfolds. But you had a Jets roster, Remember

30:38

that was a decision with Sam Donald, Um,

30:40

or do you punt on Sam Donald and you go

30:42

get you know, a young quarterback in the draft? Now,

30:45

I think Golf is more accomplished, considerably

30:47

more accomplished at this point in his career

30:50

than where Sam was at that time. But you look

30:52

at all the great players the Jets potentially

30:54

could have had with that pick, Um,

30:57

and they take Zach Wilson hasn't worked

30:59

out. This Jets team is stacked and loaded

31:01

right now. But man, you imagine throwing one

31:03

of those other premier players at Kyle Pitts, a Jamaar

31:06

Chase, one of those type dudes in that you

31:08

know in that group. So I think that's

31:10

something that the Lions are gonna be kind of thinking

31:12

through. Is the quarterback of the future in this draft?

31:15

Or can we run this thing with a very affordable

31:17

Jared Goff for the next few years and just had another

31:20

key piece to the to the building block of this organization.

31:23

Well, I think in the question kind of becomes

31:25

you know, especially if the order kind

31:27

of hovers around where it's at right now, as you showed

31:30

us with you know, the Lions with

31:32

perhaps an opportunity to get the second quarterback

31:34

off the board right there at number four.

31:37

I gif, you know, if Bryce Younger, c. J. Stroud

31:40

is sitting there, like is it is that gonna be?

31:42

That might be pretty tough to pass

31:44

up if you're Brad Holmes and if you're Dan

31:47

Campbell. Now, look look

31:49

at what Jared Goff has done this year. I mean, like

31:52

nineteen touchdowns, seven picks. Again, you'd

31:54

like I'd like to see a few less interceptions. He had

31:56

ad a string there from weeks three

31:58

through seven where he threw the vast

32:00

majority of those interceptions. So it could be a little

32:02

bit streaky, right, and that was a big reason why the

32:04

Lions were losing football games and turnovers

32:07

there. But I mean he's got some good wet. He got some

32:09

good weapons on that team too, with DeAndre

32:11

Swift and monro st Brown, d J. Chark is

32:13

starting to show up there for them, and they're gonna get

32:15

Jamison Williams rolling here soon, like

32:18

he got a twenty five million dollar quarterback, which

32:21

you know, a few years ago it might have seemed like a lot as

32:23

a bargain. Right now in terms of starting

32:25

quarterback play, look,

32:28

I could be tempted to go get the best position

32:30

player available right there at number four from the

32:32

Lions and feel okay about it because you've got golf

32:34

under contract very reasonably for the next

32:36

two years after this one. Um. You know, as

32:38

you look at the guys that have been the

32:40

quarterbacks that are headed to the Senior Bowl, player

32:43

like Tyson Badgen, right, a smaller

32:45

school player out of Shepherd, Um,

32:47

you know who may not be on the radar as a first round

32:49

pick, but maybe that's somebody that the Lions

32:51

could be like, all right, let's go get the best player available

32:53

at four or five or whatever it ends up being,

32:55

and let's find let's target a quarterback we might

32:57

like to develop for a year or two, you know,

33:00

in round two or three, and maybe

33:02

get the best of both worlds there. Yeah, they also

33:04

have another first round pick, so depending

33:06

on how the board, right

33:08

they get off to wait for their second pick. We've

33:11

seen teams do that in the past. Thing the Ravens do it

33:13

twice, I believe, with with Flacco and with

33:15

Lamar Jackson not being their first pick in

33:17

that draft. So anyways, interesting team to keep an eye

33:19

on. Another game inside that division with the

33:21

Lions that I want to get too real quick here

33:24

the Green Bay Packers, I guess shouldn't be a surprise. They

33:26

go handle the Chicago Bears, something

33:28

they've done throughout Aaron Rodgers time. There.

33:31

Uh, eighth straight win versus the Bears.

33:33

Your takeaway on this one, Rehet, Yeah, my takeaway

33:35

was the tail of two halves. Defensively for the Green Bay

33:37

Packers. They were getting shredded in the first half

33:39

in a limited possession game. I mean, I'm talking

33:41

about the You know you watched another explosive

33:44

run from Justin Fields in the first

33:46

half. He's now his third fifty plus

33:48

yard touchdown run, which is incredible.

33:50

So he has seventy rushing yards. They have two

33:53

twenty total yards in the first half.

33:56

Like something going wrong and it's just kind of curious

33:58

to see if the Packers kind of changed up anything.

34:00

So watching it, I mean like they were almost exclusively

34:03

gonna run and cover three looks against justin

34:05

fields you don't want to run a lot of man, Nobody wants to

34:07

turn their backs against this kid, right with the

34:09

way that he can run the football from the quarterback

34:11

spot. And then in the second half though, they started

34:13

varying things up a little bit, started throwing a few more

34:15

looks at him, and that's kind of where they got a couple

34:17

of those interceptions later, at least one of them

34:20

coming on looks that they hadn't really shown much of in

34:22

the first half in terms of coverage. So, um,

34:24

I just thought it was a nice job by Joe Barry making some adjustments

34:27

in the second half. Is that? And then the defense

34:29

just played better. Guys just played Jerry Alexander

34:31

was a different player in the second half. And I thought

34:33

their run defense was much better in the

34:35

second half, And so they really limited things

34:38

gave Aaron Rodgers a chance to kind of figure things out

34:40

and do what he usually does against the

34:42

Chicago Bears. Yeah, and I go back

34:44

and I look at the Packers and the home

34:47

run that they hit on Christian Watson. I want to go back to that draft.

34:49

If you remember the panic

34:52

that set in because you had that run

34:54

on whiteouts all took place before their pick

34:56

um. You look at Drake London, Garrett Wilson,

34:59

Crystal Lava, Jamison Williams, who get

35:01

a chance to see now, John Dotson

35:03

trailing bers. I mean, these guys just

35:05

were gone. They were

35:07

gone. So at that point in time, they say,

35:10

oh man, everybody freaks out, and you go, yeah, I remember

35:12

the Packers. They do a pretty good job of finding whiteouts

35:14

in the second round, and they did it here with Christian Watson,

35:16

who's got eight touchdowns over

35:19

the last four games. He's really emerged, not only

35:21

as a passing weapon. Just get the ball in his hands,

35:23

Uh, anyway you can, and you see

35:26

the speed and the strength. It's real and

35:28

uh as a rookie that's playing phenomenal

35:30

ball for them. So again, just a nice

35:32

reminder, don't freak out on draft day. Gotta

35:34

let these things play out a little bit. They ended up getting tremendous

35:37

value with Watson there in the second round.

35:39

I agree. I love when I think we all

35:41

kind of loved the raw athleticism

35:44

that Watson brought to the table, and it took him

35:46

a little while to refine some of this stuff as

35:48

and you know, he's banged up for most of the offseason,

35:51

barely practiced in the spring

35:53

and into the into the summer. In

35:55

in fall camp, I didn't see much of the preseason and then

35:58

you know, took him a little while to get his feet under. But

36:00

man, he I mean, he's like Chris Carter.

36:02

I mean, dude just catches touchdowns. I think like thirty

36:05

of his catches have gone for touchdowns at this point. So

36:07

it's it looks pretty good. Future

36:10

is promising there at the white out spot for

36:12

the Green Bay Packers, no doubt.

36:14

I'll tell you what I know. A team that's missing a whiteout

36:17

is the Chargers in Mike Williams who has

36:19

not been playing, and the offensive line

36:21

wise missing some guys defensive line. Anyways,

36:23

there's a lot to get to with the Chargers and the

36:25

Raiders. We're gonna get to that right after

36:27

we take a quick break. Right now. This

36:33

is a game I was at in the Desert, Las

36:35

Vegas. The Raiders with a big win over

36:38

the Chargers. Charges jump out to attend nothing

36:40

lead, the Raiders going to run. Chargers

36:42

attempt to come back. They come up a little bit short. That's

36:44

the that's the the cliff notes there on

36:46

that one, Rett, But I thought this game, this

36:49

game was about the Raiders stars kind

36:52

of delivering the knockout punch. Really. You

36:54

know, Max Crosby the first play of the game, he has

36:56

a forced fumble justin Herbert gets on it. But

36:58

Chargers had to put so much

37:01

attention on Max Crosby, you had to leave

37:03

Jamari saw your your your rookie

37:05

backup left tackle one on one with Chandler

37:07

Jones. Chandler Jones has three sacks as the best

37:10

game he's had all season long.

37:12

So you had the Max Crosby effect, But really

37:14

it was the offensive side of the ball where Josh Jacobs

37:18

was Josh Jacobs that we've seen this entire year,

37:20

the NFL's leading rusher, just pounding the ball,

37:22

uh, finishing drives and really kind of

37:24

putting the game in control. And then you look

37:27

at Davante Adams and what he did. You

37:29

know, they couldn't cover him all day long. Those

37:31

were the two guys you talked about trying to make a

37:34

right handed offense left handed. The

37:36

Charges got punched in the face by two right

37:38

hands in this game. Right, Uh

37:42

yeah, that's a tough that's a tough thing to do. But

37:45

they figured out, Wait, were you were those cliffs

37:47

notes from this week or were they from last

37:49

week or the week before you? I

37:51

feel like it couldn't be from last year. Yeah, as

37:54

well could be from their meeting at the end of the year last

37:56

year. Just such a familiar story, certainly

37:58

when these two teams get together, or I mean,

38:00

obviously great for the Raiders to finally get

38:02

something out of Chandler Jones.

38:05

And I know, for a pass rusher, like

38:07

you feel like if you're if you're out there and

38:10

you know, if you're finding, if you're getting close, you

38:12

know the sacks are eventually going to come. You talk about

38:14

them coming in bunches at times, and that was certainly the

38:16

case here against the

38:18

Chargers. But I mean, look, the Charges are doing the best

38:21

they can here at this point with the guys that they're having to roll

38:23

out there along the offensive line at the

38:25

wide receiver spot too. I mean, they're they're vastly

38:27

shorthanded. Um, But I just want

38:29

to think back to a few weeks ago,

38:32

right, Yeah, I want to say it was about a

38:34

month ago. The Raiders are in dire

38:36

straits. They're riding a losing street here.

38:39

They end up throwing Darren Waller on I R

38:41

Hunter renfro Goes on injured reserve. I

38:43

think Blake Martinez retired. I mean

38:45

like it was like, whoa, what is going on in

38:47

Las Vegas right now? And

38:50

then it's like it's like the wheels are like

38:52

literally falling off the bus. And

38:54

then all of a sudden, like they've won three

38:56

in her own and and what do you know, it's like

38:59

the big time guy showing up. It's Davante

39:01

Adams and Josh Jacobs in the same

39:03

game, right, that's when they're at their best

39:05

one or the other, uh, picking each other

39:07

up and feeding off each other. And then you know, I

39:10

think Max Crosby has kind of helped

39:12

will this wind streak for the Las

39:14

Vegas Raiders. And then Chandler Jones shows

39:16

up here today, So like, I just think

39:18

there's there's a lot to say for patients,

39:21

um, and look what do we talk

39:23

about last week? Right? I mean, you like to see

39:25

patients, but you have to show progress to earn

39:28

it. And I think that's what they've they've showed us

39:30

here that Josh McDaniels stay in the course

39:32

making some tweaks, figuring out how to put his players

39:34

in the best position to succeed, which is of course what

39:36

his mentor, mentor, Bill Belichick, has

39:39

become famous for. And it's

39:41

paying off. And they're kind of writing the thick

39:43

of things right now as you start to get into

39:45

the a f C playoff picture at five and seven. Yeah,

39:48

we saw them last year get hot at the end of the year

39:50

and and kind of snuck in the back door and gave

39:52

this since Anny Bengals all they can handle on the postseason.

39:54

So nice win there for Josh McDaniels

39:57

in company with the Raiders. Um, speaking of playoff

39:59

picture, here we throw that up and and kind

40:01

of look at the a f C. I men, this is it's

40:04

headed includes a very big Sunday,

40:06

I know, yeah, kind of separation

40:08

Saturday or elimination Sunday down

40:10

whatever you want to you know, used to call that one in college football,

40:13

separation Saturday. And maybe this is kind

40:15

of a separation Sunday coming up. Because

40:17

you see the eight and four Dolphins, they're gonna

40:19

come take on the six and six Chargers. That's a

40:21

big matchup. Then you look at the

40:23

number one team right now in the a f C,

40:26

the Buffalo Bills, They're gonna have to see

40:28

if they can avenge the loss to the Jets inside

40:30

their division. The Jets a playoff team if

40:32

the season end it right now as well. Those are two

40:34

huge, huge matchups with big implications

40:37

going forward. Rep. Yeah, and I'm just looking

40:39

at the playoff picture, you know, in the teams that are

40:41

in it as we speak. Jets still in it despite

40:43

the loss, with a one game lead on the

40:45

Patriots and the Chargers. And

40:48

then you've got the Raiders. You've got

40:50

the Browns and the Steelers all sitting

40:52

there at five and seven. Steelers kind of sneaking up

40:55

here a little bit too after a win over the Falcons,

40:57

can you pick it? Playing some some pretty good football

40:59

there, and then to Shaun Watson now back with the Browns.

41:02

Obviously wasn't very good in this last game against

41:04

the Texans, but they found a way to win. The

41:06

Raiders feel like they're finding their stride here. I'm

41:09

really like, I feel pretty good about

41:11

one through six right now in

41:13

the a f C, and that in some way,

41:16

shape or forms, some order, those six teams

41:18

from Buffalo to Miami are gonna be in there,

41:21

but that's seventh spot could go

41:23

anywhere, and that's what's super

41:25

exciting at this point in the season. Jets,

41:28

Patriots, Chargers, Raiders, Browns,

41:31

and Steelers all with legitimate shots

41:33

there. Um, I mean, I think the only one,

41:35

you know, Tennessee. You know, it's kind of been a little bit up

41:37

and down, but I mean they're in the a f C South.

41:40

They're probably gonna win that division, right so

41:42

they're pretty safe there. It would seem at the fourth spot,

41:44

it's gonna be really interesting to each a

41:47

f C North, huge week comeny.

41:49

Gosh, you get the two division games there, you get the Browns

41:51

and the Bengals squaring off, and you get the Steelers

41:54

and the Ravens squaring off, and all

41:56

of a sudden, now the Browns win that game, the

41:58

Steelers win the other game. WHOA,

42:01

Right now we've got a little something cooking here. So it's

42:03

gonna be a big exciting weekend of football

42:06

coming up ahead. I do want to tease that tomorrow

42:09

Bucky will be back. We're gonna dig in on

42:11

the Dion Sanders higher, our former colleague

42:13

Deon Sanders here to NFL Network. He gets hired

42:15

the University of Colorado. Yeah,

42:17

he's coming. That's a great video, by the way, if you haven't

42:19

seen that, you should check that one out. It's on YouTube. Bo's

42:21

Prime addressing the team. I would not

42:23

have want to be one of the kids in there, by the way, like

42:25

I don't think, very uncomfortable, and

42:28

that's probably what he wanted. Yeah, mission

42:30

accomplished. We'll we'll jump into that tomorrow

42:32

Bucky gets back. By the way, congrats

42:34

to Bucky Brooks. They got a big win. They win

42:36

the Southern California Championship. He's playing

42:39

in the state championship next

42:41

week. So way to go. Buck. Can't wait to all

42:43

about a wild game. Fifty

42:45

five to fifty four, A big win

42:47

for Bucky Brooks and company. All Right, we gotta

42:50

out here. I appreciate you guys hanging with

42:52

us. This has been moved to six D
