Progress is being made with the standardisation of doctors induction across the Wessex deanery. A further meeting took place this week to review where we were at. A number of training matrices have been collected from Trusts and PCTs in the region and collated: there's still a few outstanding. This is beginning to build a picture of what content could possibly be delivered/made available centrally to help organisations respond to the challenge of transferability of learning, standardisation and monitoring of training activity for NHSLA risk management standards. Where applicable, e-learning is being considered.
E-learning for Healthcare (e-LfH), one of the national providers supported and funded by the DH, gave a presentation of their workforce development modules due for release in August this year. The deanery group have reviewed a number of the modules in detail and believe the content to be fit for purpose but there were initial concerns over the usability of the programs. This has since been addressed by
e-lfh following our feedback; they have devised new course templates which will be applied to the material in time for their August release.
