Julie Markowitz is a psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of chronic pain and trauma. She holds a Master's in Social Work from New York University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. She became a therapist to help those who have suffered from similar trauma as she has. She is working to change the stigma that surrounds mental health issues and promote a trauma-informed approach to mental health care. Additionally, she is a proponent on Health at Every Size and is a fat-positive practitioner. She loves working to empower women to take back their power from the patriarchy. She works in private practice in San Diego, California and coaches people out of chronic pain nationally.
