Emilia Travis is a college student who is terrible at adulting, who by crazy circumstances, finds herself falling ass backward into supervillainy. The first 30 or so episodes are single narrator heavy, in the form of an audio diary, in which Emilia relates the goings ons in this version of Liverpool, where anyone can be a superhero or supervillain. After that, the show transitions into a more traditional audio drama with a few more cast members chiming in.I love Emilia's wry humor and self deprecation. It goes a long way toward making her ditzy slacker character, who is content to let inertia drive her life, likeable. Her relationship with her older sister taps into genuine warmth and relatable resentment. When Emilia decides to become a villain, she bluffs her way through a dangerous encounter with such audacity, it made me chuckle. Best of all, I was concerned by all the questionable decisions Emilia kept making and they were all addressed in due course, at which point I knew I could put my faith in Reisenberger as a storyteller.
