Chico State Spanish professor Sara E. Cooper struggled to get works by Cuban women writers into her students’ hands for years. The U.S. economic embargo made it tricky, and even when she went herself to publishers to show them great unpublished works, she was told the situation was too complicated. So she took things into her own hands.
Cubanabooks is a volunteer-run press, dedicated to getting the literary works of Cuban women into the hands of an American (and global) audience.
