LAW - DEMAND VS GRACE – SUPPLYExodus 3:1-5LAW (Demand) “Thou Shall Not” Exodus 20:3-171Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.2There the angel of the LORD appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.3So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”4When the LORD saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.”5“Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”Luke 15:20-22GRACE (Supply) “GOD gave HIS only Begotten SON” –John 3:1620 And he arose and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet

Hebrews 12:18-24The Mountain of Fear (Law) and the Mountain of Joy (Grace)18You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm;19to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them,20because they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.”21The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, “I am trembling with fear.”22But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,23You have to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect,24You have to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. The Purpose of the LawThe law reveals God’s absolute, immutable permanent expectations. God’s principle behind the law will never change. The Law provides us with social and personal directive –Fallen WorldThe Law reveals our sinfulness, which shows us our needs for Christ.

Exo 19:8 -And all the people answered together and said, “All that the LORD hath spoken we will do.” And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.ONLYChrist fulfilled the Law. Christ fulfilled the Law in every respect, so that when he died on the cross-He remained spotless, sinless Lamb of God, qualified to take away my sins and your sins.LAW/DEMAND VS GRACE/SUPPLY“For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” John 1:17 (NKJV)LAW/DEMAND VS GRACE/SUPPLYBoth Law and Grace were instituted by GodTruth is on the side of “Grace”Is the “Law” true? Yes, it is….But not “the truth”The Law demands righteousness from sinfully bankrupt manGrace provides/Supplies righteousness as a “Gift”The Law says, take off your shoes, the place you are standing is a Holy GroundGrace says, put on shoes, in his feet, my son has return, he has right to stand in my presence. The law was given by Moses, but grace came by Jesus Christ. Every system of morality/religion is about man trying to reach God with his discipline and good works, but in Christianity, God came down to where we were to lift us up to where He is!GRACE/SUPPLY“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light”(Matthew 11:28-30)
