This is not Sam wrestling,

0:04

not Sam wrestling. Introducing

0:08

your host from New York,

0:11

here is Sam Roberts.

0:16

Raw is going to Netflix. Raw

0:19

is going to Netflix. Monday Night Raw,

0:21

you know the show from TV, the

0:24

WWE show, it's going to

0:26

Netflix. Welcome to an emergency not

0:28

Sam wrestling podcast. I told you

0:30

on Monday, 24 hours

0:33

ago, I said we're probably going to do an

0:35

emergency podcast, let's be honest. Maybe it was just

0:37

the week, maybe it was just the feeling, but

0:39

at the time, 24 hours

0:41

ago, I'm going, we're

0:44

probably going to do an emergency podcast because

0:46

we're going to need to do a podcast

0:48

about what Seth Rollins is going to do

0:50

with the world heavyweight title. Do you remember

0:52

when any of us were thinking about

0:54

that? It was 24 hours ago. Then,

0:57

then I'm watching Monday Night Raw and

0:59

I go, oh, I didn't see this

1:01

coming. My emergency podcast

1:03

is going to be about Cody Rhodes and

1:05

CM Punk and that amazing promo, and

1:08

that's coming, but it's going to have to wait because

1:10

I wake up this morning, drive

1:13

my car into SiriusXM, head

1:16

into the lobby, sit down, take out my phone

1:18

to see at 715 in

1:20

the morning. If anything in the world has

1:22

updated that I should know before I go on the

1:24

air and what do I see? Monday

1:28

Night Raw comes to

1:30

Netflix, or should I say WWE Raw? That's

1:33

an important distinction to make, I believe,

1:36

as we look toward the

1:38

future. Two huge news items

1:40

breaking from WWE at

1:42

the start of today. The first is

1:45

WWE Raw and

1:47

carefully look at every piece of

1:50

branding that's come out, every news

1:52

release, every quote, everything. It's

1:54

not Monday Night Raw, it's

1:57

WWE Raw. That

2:00

is to say, we

2:02

have no idea what night of the week

2:05

this thing is going to air on going

2:07

forward because in January 2025,

2:11

one year from right now, Netflix

2:13

will become the exclusive home

2:16

of Monday night of WWE Raw.

2:19

I keep catching myself of WWE

2:21

Raw in the United States,

2:23

Canada, Britain, and

2:26

Latin America. This is huge

2:29

for the first time in 31 years.

2:33

Since Raw debuted on the

2:35

USA Network in 1993, WWE

2:38

Raw leaves linear television

2:41

and will be streamed live

2:44

every week, 52 weeks a

2:47

year for three hours or

2:49

so we think, on

2:51

Netflix. And as I

2:53

said, this is happening in the United

2:56

States, Canada, Britain, and Latin America, which

2:58

is a big deal because usually those

3:00

are all separate deals. Those

3:03

are all separate television channels

3:05

that Raw airs on. Outside

3:08

of the United States, Netflix

3:11

is also going to get, I

3:13

believe, SmackDown and the premium

3:15

live events. In the

3:17

United States, those premium live events

3:20

stay on Peacock. This deal is

3:23

worth over $5 billion and

3:25

is a 10-year deal. We're

3:32

looking at WWE

3:35

Raw on Netflix until

3:38

January of 2035. We won't

3:44

need to find a new home

3:46

for Raw until WrestleMania 50. What

3:51

are we doing? Well,

3:53

$5 billion up

3:56

Has the WWE. Now. Of course, the WWE

3:58

is not saying goodbye. The Usa

4:00

Network entirely in the states. Because

4:02

this was the third and final

4:05

part of their Tv rights packaging,

4:07

did they were selling? Ah, the

4:09

first, of course was the news.

4:11

Ah, that Smackdown. Was. Moving.

4:14

At the. End of this year. I believe it's

4:16

actually in October of this year. It's not. I'd die

4:18

think that those rights or up in October night in

4:20

January. But. In October of

4:23

this year, smackdown. Will

4:25

move to the Usa Network. Reportedly

4:28

it's gonna be on Tuesdays. we

4:30

don't know for sure but reportedly

4:32

but that is happening. I after

4:35

Fox and Nx T. Is.

4:37

Going to the C W network. Peacock.

4:41

Still remains the home in the United

4:43

States for pre and live events. It

4:45

still remains the home for the archive.

4:48

As a big question that people have

4:50

is is Netflix going to be a

4:52

spot where their archiving Monday night rocks

4:54

Or they just going to stream it.

4:57

Because. If you look at the way this is set

4:59

up, It. Feels like outside of

5:01

the United States where the Debbie W

5:03

E Network still exists. Did.

5:05

The move is. To. Do

5:08

what they did in the Us, but

5:10

do it with international Netflix. That's

5:13

what it seems like. That's where I,

5:15

That's my wild speculation based on the

5:17

information that we've been given the those

5:19

shows. Biggest. Smackdown and Roy and

5:22

Premium Live events will be on Netflix

5:24

outside of the Us and Canada Britain

5:26

and Latin America with. Other

5:28

countries they said ah planning to

5:30

be added as they go. Again,

5:35

All. They've said his creaming. I don't know

5:37

that they've said the libraries will be there.

5:40

In. The United States. the libraries won't

5:42

be there because the Peacock Deal is

5:44

active until March of Twenty Twenty Six.

5:47

So all of this year in the

5:49

next year, Peacock will still be the

5:51

home of the Debbie of You network.

5:53

Of of of all the archived content

5:56

is Debbie that You he has which

5:58

gets really interesting because. The.

6:00

Peacock deal. As.

6:03

Stuff A. Yeah.

6:06

I don't know. They get raw like. Three.

6:08

Four weeks after it airs on Usa,

6:10

it shows up on Peacock. So

6:13

does this mean once we get into twenty Twenty five

6:15

for the last year and co and a quarter. Of

6:18

the peacock deal that were going to

6:20

have. Netflix.

6:22

Is. Monday. Night Raw

6:25

on Peacock. The.

6:27

You'll you'll you'll go to Peacock and four

6:30

weeks or whatever it is after it airs.

6:33

Were. Getting here was that I'm of money that raw

6:35

and netflix even though you watch a peacock, this is

6:37

wild. This. Is what what they said

6:39

they said in a press release. This. Deal.

6:42

Is. Transform it if. Ah, and

6:44

it's transformative. I think for a lot of

6:46

reasons. obviously the fact that they're gone for

6:48

streaming. You know it's true. It's formative for

6:50

Netflix. As. An entity. This is

6:52

a big jump and I would imagine. That.

6:55

Throughout this year you'll probably

6:57

see a lot more lives

6:59

stuff. Coming. From Netflix. because

7:01

they have done live stuff before. they

7:04

did what was that a reality show

7:06

called the I Love Is Blind Reunion

7:08

which did not go well but then

7:10

they did the Chris Rock Stand Up

7:13

Special live which did go well and

7:15

then they done a couple of sports

7:17

events a big events weekends. That

7:20

I think went well in terms of the

7:22

stream working and everything happening on time. And

7:25

and know, bleaching or anything like that. So

7:27

I find it difficult to believe. That.

7:29

In Twenty Twenty Four. And.

7:32

In Twenty Twenty Five, More importantly, Netflix

7:34

is going to have any trouble whatsoever.

7:36

Streaming Live. That's a thing that. That.

7:38

These tech companies are certainly able

7:40

to doing clearly. As

7:43

Nick Com has been saying in the

7:45

various media appearances he's been doing today,

7:47

Derrida View is turnkey Demidov you he

7:49

is just flip a switch and instead

7:52

of Usa they'll be on Netflix. Never

7:54

leave the U S. A deal is

7:56

up in October so I don't know.

7:59

in this year, the last

8:02

two months or so, I don't know where Monday Night

8:04

Raw will be, but I would imagine that they'll

8:07

probably just stay on USA for another couple months. Like

8:10

I said, five billion dollars over

8:13

ten years, and this is not just those

8:16

three television shows, right? Because when you look at it,

8:18

it's like now we've got WWE

8:20

Raw on Netflix, you've got

8:23

NXT on CW, you've got

8:25

SmackDown on the USA Network, you've

8:27

got the archive available on Peacock,

8:29

you've got the new docs

8:33

being made on A&E, Rivals and

8:35

Biographies. That's five television

8:38

deals right there, and it's

8:40

been made clear that part of this Netflix

8:42

deal is the intention

8:45

to use the WWE's IP

8:48

to create scripted

8:50

movies and television shows, that to be able

8:53

to finally have this home where

8:55

it makes sense synergetically to get

8:59

with some of the best television

9:02

and film producers that

9:04

exist, which is what Netflix

9:06

has access to, and create these

9:09

series that are not just documentaries

9:11

about the people portraying the characters,

9:13

but to actually take the character

9:17

and see if you can expand upon it, take

9:19

it out of a WWE ring and seeing how

9:21

far you can take this character. Is

9:23

the story

9:25

of Kane and the Undertaker limited

9:28

to the human beings,

9:30

Glenn Jacobs and Mark Callaway? Or

9:33

can we tell an entire supernatural

9:35

tale with the foundation built

9:37

from what happened in a WWE ring?

9:40

Is the King of Kings story? You

9:43

know what I mean? It's not just the story of Triple H

9:46

coming from where he was and training

9:48

with Killer Kowalski and doing kind of

9:50

what A24 did with

9:52

the Iron Claw and the Von

9:55

Eriks. It's not

9:57

the story of Paul Leveque. Is there a

10:00

thing where you take this Triple

10:02

H character, really at any point in his career.

10:04

It could be the game. It could be when

10:06

he starts dressing like Conan the Barbarian and

10:09

make a full-fledged limited

10:12

series or movie about this character.

10:15

I think that that is something that the WWE

10:17

has been looking to do for years now, and

10:20

they've talked about it very publicly. I

10:24

definitely think that

10:26

that's part of this, is not

10:28

just the money that they're going to

10:30

be making from Netflix, but the ability

10:32

to even further monetize the IP that

10:34

they've been building and building and building

10:37

and collecting and collecting and collecting for

10:40

all these years. People

10:43

are wondering if there's going to be commercials. Does

10:45

that mean there's no commercials anymore on Monday Night Raw?

10:48

I would imagine – I would

10:51

imagine, because Netflix is

10:53

paying over $5 billion

10:55

reportedly. So say, you

10:58

know, $500 million a year, and

11:00

that's not just for Raw. That's also

11:02

for the international SmackDown and Premium Live

11:04

event stuff. But

11:07

I would imagine that they probably will not

11:09

raise subscriptions at least at first based

11:12

around Raw. I don't know. Over this year, they'll

11:15

bring them up a couple bucks or not. But I

11:17

think that they won't make that

11:19

a part of it because it would turn the

11:21

fan base off entirely and kind of – I

11:23

mean, the

11:25

whole point in doing this is to get eyeballs on it. But

11:30

one of the reasons that Monday Night Raw is three

11:32

hours and has been three hours since I want to

11:34

say 2012 is

11:37

that you can fit a third

11:40

more commercials onto three hours.

11:42

It becomes much more lucrative for the WWE.

11:44

It makes more sense because you can sell

11:46

a TV rights package for more money because

11:49

networks can put more ads

11:51

across three hours. And

11:53

I do think That Netflix is

11:56

going to be looking for those sponsorship opportunities. I Do think

11:58

that Netflix is going to be looking for more. Looking

12:00

to make their money back

12:02

and be profitable in this

12:04

endeavor no pun intended endeavor

12:06

by having commercials and also

12:08

you know in show sponsorships.

12:11

The. Same way they do now. I'm.

12:14

In we really interesting to see. If.

12:17

Rot. Is. On

12:20

Netflix. beyond the live portion

12:22

of. It. Like.

12:24

I said it shows up on and Peacock

12:26

I think a few weeks later. So.

12:28

To be interesting to see, his Netflix

12:31

is able to maintain it the way

12:33

like you know Usa can have. You

12:35

can get brought on the on demand

12:38

section I think or there's a Dvr

12:40

capability. Certainly. If. You

12:42

can't watch Raw live going to be able to rewind or

12:44

you could be able to record Are you going to be

12:46

able to store it for at least a few weeks? Before

12:48

those the peacock that all. Remains

12:50

to be seen right now. You.

12:53

Know there's a of course people

12:56

that have been sand forever. Might.

12:58

Be struggling with saying goodbye to money that raw

13:00

on the Usa Network. but it it. It's not

13:03

like it's been or the entire entire time, right?

13:05

Right Is on the Usa Network for ninety three

13:07

to two thousand. And. That

13:09

was the tough goodbye. For. Me:

13:12

The. First goodbye is always the toughest, right?

13:14

When. They say we're not going to be on

13:16

Usa anymore because before Monday night raw. That

13:19

time slot was a Usa time slot.

13:21

You know, Usa was always synonymous. With.

13:24

Ww Ii. Un. All American

13:26

Wrestling on Sunday and then you

13:28

add Prime Time Wrestling or Monday

13:30

Night and Primetime Wrestling starts. Ah

13:32

as this studio show that it

13:34

evolves into. Ah studio show with

13:37

a live audience. Then it evolves

13:39

into a Talking Heads Desks show

13:41

that throws to matches. You know

13:43

all stuff. There was taped in

13:45

Stamford. Then. In

13:47

Nineteen Eighty Three, January. It

13:49

evolves into money in Iraq. live

13:52

from the does Manhattan Center. So

13:54

even though ninety three to two

13:56

thousand is technically. That

13:59

first seven years. The of Monday Night Raw.

14:01

Before. That. It was

14:04

primetime wrestling and Usa in the same time

14:06

slot. But. Then in two thousand and

14:08

he goes over to. A.

14:10

T and and I think I don't think it Spike Tv

14:13

yet but I don't know. What? It

14:15

would eventually become Spike Tv, but I think it

14:17

was. I think it was his Nashville network of

14:19

the national Network, but it was T and Aunts

14:21

And Eighty Five Years on T. N N. Before.

14:24

Coming back to the Usa Network in two

14:26

thousand and five and that's where they've been

14:28

ever since. Ah, and like I said, Smackdown

14:30

will still be on the Usa Network. It's

14:32

just. it's just remarkable. To me, the idea

14:34

is said. And I think it's

14:36

really smart. Does. It every time you

14:38

he is able to and this is. What?

14:41

It takes to run a business. Than.

14:43

Out romanticizing. What's.

14:45

Going on there, looking at

14:47

the business of entertainment and

14:49

inevitably has always been about.

14:52

Moving. Things forward. You.

14:55

Watch the thirty for thirty on the access out

14:57

on I know the x of our not that

14:59

I would have you even is Vince run the

15:01

original season of the X F L looked at

15:03

as a fine financial failure, but. Then.

15:06

You look at the technology that was use when

15:08

you looked at the way the game was presented.

15:10

You. See the. In. The

15:12

Nfl to this day. That the X

15:14

F I was way ahead of the curve when

15:17

you look at in the late eighty. Nineteen Eighty

15:19

Nine. When. You look at. What

15:21

the paper views look like the W W he was

15:23

putting on. Technologically, you

15:25

can see that they're way ahead of their

15:27

competition and they're moving towards what we're going

15:30

to know. As. Professional wrestling, but

15:32

the way they built up. Sports.

15:34

Entertainment to be this global entity. And

15:36

they've They've done it. By.

15:40

Being. Able to be on top

15:42

of of all this technology of

15:44

being there for Vhs distribution. Early.

15:47

Early early being there and transferring over

15:49

to Dvd and make me a mint

15:52

on Dvd distribution when D V D's

15:54

were hot and then when Dvd stop

15:56

being hot. Not. going

15:58

hey this what we do we They

16:00

go, nope, streaming is the future, so

16:03

let's focus all our energy on

16:05

creating this WWE network. Let's put a

16:07

flag on our building that says $9.99, and let's

16:10

roll the dice. Let's take the risk of

16:12

putting the pay-per-views up there and

16:15

foregoing that immediate income for the

16:17

long-term goal. And

16:20

I think you see it again and again and again and

16:22

again, and we see it now with WWE

16:25

just looking forward and saying, well, Peacock

16:27

is running playoff NFL games. Thursday

16:29

Night Football is on Amazon. Clearly,

16:32

there's room for a show like Monday Night

16:34

Raw on a streaming platform, and quite frankly,

16:37

you could argue that it's even more valuable to

16:40

a streaming platform than a traditional

16:42

network, because a streaming platform

16:44

needs to prove

16:46

that they're not

16:50

an addition to a traditional network. They

16:53

are as important as a

16:56

traditional network, and that's what

16:58

Netflix does in

17:00

a sense, I think in the eyes of a lot

17:02

of people who watch Monday Night Raw every week with

17:05

a move like this at the same time. Netflix is

17:07

the biggest streaming company in the world. So

17:09

at the same turn, the fact that

17:11

Netflix wants to do this level of business

17:13

with the WWE just makes WWE

17:16

look like a million bucks, and I think

17:18

that actually about 5 billion bucks is

17:21

what it makes the WWE look like, and that's evident in the

17:23

fact that stock was up 20 –

17:25

over 20% immediately today

17:28

with these announcements that were made

17:31

primarily this Netflix announcement. And

17:33

it's really interesting. Nobody saw it coming.

17:35

I mean, people talked about Netflix as

17:37

a reach possibility, but realistically, what did

17:39

we hear? Warner Brothers,

17:43

we heard USA, and

17:45

we heard Amazon. And

17:49

then boom, and I mean the graphic came up on

17:51

my Twitter account, and I had to

17:53

look and go like, this is probably like a fake thing.

17:56

I'm not going to get got again like when I thought the WWE was

17:58

being sold when it wasn't. I'm not going to get got again. I

18:00

was like, that's a gold check mark next to

18:02

that WWE account. This is real. And I go, is

18:04

this just a deal where Monday Night Raw is going

18:06

to be on a network and then stream on Netflix?

18:09

No, Netflix is the home of

18:12

Monday Night Raw. So

18:15

whatever. I'm sure we're going to keep talking about it,

18:17

the podcast that comes out after the Royal Rumble. Leave

18:19

comments. Do the whole thing, and we'll

18:21

talk more about it because while we're here, I also

18:23

want to talk about the second announcement that was made

18:26

today, which is Dwayne the Royal Rumble.

18:29

Dwayne The Rock Johnson

18:32

joins the board of

18:34

TKO. Of course, TKO,

18:36

the company Endeavor started

18:38

that encompasses both the

18:40

WWE and the UFC.

18:43

The Rock is a

18:46

member of the board. This

18:48

is insane. You talk about a shake-up. You

18:50

talk about something that's transformative. The

18:53

idea that this former wrestler

18:56

is now that high level of a position,

18:59

the board is who the CEO

19:01

answers to. When

19:04

the CEO has to make decisions,

19:06

see, a publicly traded company can't

19:09

just have a CEO in charge.

19:11

They need a group

19:13

there, a board that

19:15

is making sure that that CEO is

19:18

acting in the best interest of the

19:20

shareholders. The

19:22

Rock is now on this board of what I believe is 13

19:25

people for TKO. And that's

19:27

not just because he's a big

19:29

celebrity or something like that. That's

19:31

because of the strides that this

19:33

guy has made in the business

19:35

world. Obviously, he understands sports entertainment

19:37

better than almost anybody. It's hard

19:39

to imagine. It's hard to argue

19:41

somebody that understands sports entertainment from

19:43

every level more than The

19:45

Rock in the sense that he's

19:48

witnessed it through generations. He's not just

19:50

stuck in the generation that

19:52

he performed in, but also has

19:55

been the nucleus of it

19:58

or such a big deal. icon

20:00

of it, thus representing

20:02

it everywhere that he goes while

20:05

going into the traditional entertainment

20:07

industry, while going into different businesses, while

20:10

being an owner, while being a... Like,

20:13

he's seen the way Hollywood

20:16

and sports entertainment can interact because

20:18

that's what he does. And

20:21

so now he sits here. I mean, this is

20:23

a guy who still

20:28

runs what is now the UFL after

20:31

the XFL and the other football

20:33

league merged. And I

20:36

mean, Terra Mana, do

20:38

some Googling on Terra Mana, the Rock's

20:40

Tequila Company. It is

20:42

massively successful in business. So

20:45

when you lay it out there, it makes all

20:47

the sense in the world. Several

20:50

weeks ago, the Rock

20:53

showed up on Raw and

20:55

he said, do you think the Rock should

20:57

sit at the head of the table? The

20:59

Rock is sitting at the head of the

21:02

table. Now, of course, he's not the top

21:04

board member there is, but that is an

21:06

elite table. That is a

21:08

table where it's very hard to

21:10

get a seat. And

21:13

the Rock, WrestleMania or not,

21:15

has already fulfilled his promise.

21:17

The fact is, doing Roman

21:19

Reigns proclaims himself the head of the

21:21

table, the question's going to get asked.

21:23

What about the family member of yours that's sitting

21:26

at the board? What about that

21:28

one? And the Rock

21:31

has said one

21:34

of the reasons, and people have really stuck

21:36

onto this. And I

21:38

don't necessarily believe it's 100% true,

21:41

but it could be true. The Rock has said that

21:44

one of the reasons that WrestleMania hasn't worked in

21:46

the past is because he wants to do something

21:48

that's never been done before. Well

21:52

how about the idea

21:54

that we could be looking at

21:57

a world where

21:59

an- Active member of the board

22:02

of TKO walks

22:04

into a stadium in Philadelphia to main event

22:07

WrestleMania. And it makes sense.

22:10

Is that not wild? Is that

22:12

not insane? Part

22:14

of this deal that was huge for the

22:16

Rock as well is

22:19

that fine. Finally, after all

22:21

these years, the Rock owns

22:23

his trademark. The

22:25

Rock is the owner of the trademark, The

22:27

Rock. Now WWE will of

22:29

course be able to continue to

22:31

use it. They've entered into a

22:34

licensing agreement with The Rock. You know, The Rock,

22:36

they said, and the SEC filings is a publicly

22:38

traded company. They said he made something like 400,000

22:41

and change on

22:44

just merchandising and licensing through WWE

22:46

last year through royalties. And

22:49

that will continue to happen, except

22:51

instead of the WWE owning the

22:53

trademark, The Rock, The Rock now

22:55

owns the trademark for

22:57

that. And he licenses it

23:00

to the WWE and anybody else

23:02

that he deems fit to

23:04

use it is able to license it, not

23:07

from WWE, but from The Rock itself. That

23:10

is huge. WWE

23:13

added that it has also entered

23:15

into a services and merchandising agreement

23:17

with Johnson. Under that agreement, Johnson

23:19

will provide promotional licensing and other

23:21

services to the company. Johnson

23:24

also gains ownership of the

23:26

trademark name, The Rock. As

23:29

part of an intellectual assignment

23:31

agreement. So The

23:33

Rock goes, look, yeah, you

23:35

can use my name. Of course we could do

23:38

merch together. I'll do appearances for you. We'll do whatever

23:40

we need to do. I would like

23:42

to have ownership of my name, please. And what a

23:44

move, huh? Dwayne, we'd

23:46

like to have you join the board. We'd

23:49

like for you to represent this

23:51

company at the highest conceivable level.

23:54

He goes, that sounds great. I would love to do that. It's

23:56

going to come with about $30 million in stock and

23:59

I'd like ownership over. my name, please. Thank you. There

24:02

you go. You're worth it. The Rock is

24:04

worth it. And

24:07

he was out on CNBC today

24:09

with Ari Emanuel, breaking

24:11

all this down already and

24:13

explaining, you know, why

24:16

this is such a big deal. Vince McMahon was

24:18

quoted in the press release. Vince McMahon, executive

24:20

chairman of the TKO board, I guess he's the head

24:22

of the table, said, very few

24:25

people on the planet understand the

24:27

convergence of sports, entertainment, media, and

24:29

business like Rock. I love that

24:31

he still calls him Rock, not

24:33

Dwayne Rock. We're proud

24:35

to have him join the TKO board

24:37

to help take our company to new

24:40

heights. How about that, huh? The

24:42

Rock is able to make a name for

24:45

himself outside of the WWE, so much so

24:48

that the company owns

24:51

the WWE now has

24:54

both him and Vince on

24:57

the board of directors. If that

24:59

is not one of the

25:01

most amazing stories, I

25:03

don't know what is. So

25:07

look, does this make it more or less likely

25:09

that the Rock's at WrestleMania? I

25:11

don't think it makes it more or less

25:13

likely. I think whatever road we were on,

25:15

we're still on that said,

25:20

the Rock is more closely

25:23

associated with WWE today than

25:26

he has been in many, many,

25:29

many years. The

25:32

Rock has a job with

25:34

TKO and a board of

25:36

directors job is not a job that he's

25:38

going to report to an office every day

25:40

that he's not. But the fact of the

25:43

matter is that when they pull together a meeting

25:45

of the board of directors, he's

25:47

on it. The fact of the matter is

25:49

that if it truly is in the best interest of the

25:51

company for the Rock to go out there and perform a

25:53

little bit, well, guess what? They

25:56

Got his phone number now. You're part of the board,

25:58

dude. The The

26:00

Company. Get. Out there

26:02

on Netflix and raise an eyebrow? How

26:05

bad that. As

26:08

rebel because it was revolutionary you know is

26:10

a it was a huge deal and this

26:12

is this is was. This

26:14

era is what businesses would W W E

26:17

is all about. How do

26:19

we elevate? How do we get to the

26:21

next level? How do we get to the

26:23

next level? And it's like, okay, a huge

26:25

next level step for Ww Ii. Was

26:28

getting smacked down on fox. The.

26:31

Fact that Fox aired

26:33

Smackdown on it's network

26:35

television station. One.

26:37

Of the big networks, The. One

26:39

that is got the Nfl. It's got smacked down.

26:42

The. Fact that they air that show for whatever is

26:44

V has been for years. That

26:46

was a huge step forward for the debate abuse.

26:49

And. Iraq was on the very first

26:51

episode. To. Let everybody know what a big

26:53

deal it was. So.

26:55

How do you keep moving up? How.

26:58

Do You keep going? Proving.

27:01

To. The world that your next level

27:03

company. I think

27:05

the answer is. Do.

27:07

Something revolutionary. Like. Go

27:10

over to the biggest name. In.

27:12

Streaming. There. Is people

27:14

just call documentaries Netflix Stocks? You see

27:16

that Netflix stock on Max? Is that

27:18

Netflix? Talk on Peacock? What?

27:21

why? Mean I say I guess

27:23

as on Netflix They just say that Netflix.anything

27:25

that's like a popular documentary. Yeah.

27:27

Netflix. Anything that's a good series

27:29

used to be the H B O series was in

27:31

a Zoo that Netflix series. Think

27:34

it's on to be what. I.

27:36

Mean the comedy. And.

27:40

How amazing is it? That. Now

27:42

that he's on the board, it's more likely than

27:44

ever. That. Not only. Will.

27:46

The Rock show up years ago when Debbie

27:49

to Have You We started on Fox. But.

27:52

i would put money on the fact that the rock

27:55

is going to be on the first episode of raw

27:57

on netflix a year or so from now Unbelievable.

28:01

I saw some people online

28:04

thinking that, you know, this would limit

28:07

the eyes that are on WWE, but

28:09

I wholeheartedly disagree. Like

28:12

I said, Netflix is the biggest

28:14

streamer in the game, and every

28:16

single day you hear more and more

28:18

people are cutting the cord. Not only

28:20

that, but this is a global platform.

28:22

This is the first time

28:24

that in U.S., Canada, Britain,

28:27

and Latin America, Raw

28:29

can be aired live

28:32

on the same platform.

28:34

And as the

28:36

WWE continues to expand globally,

28:38

and clearly, this is big for

28:40

them, right? We

28:43

look at the fact that in

28:46

February, we're in Australia for Elimination

28:48

Chamber. After WrestleMania, we're in France

28:51

for Backlash. This summer, we're

28:53

in Berlin. And

28:55

who knows where else we'll be

28:57

internationally? Toronto for Money in the Bank.

29:02

But all those different

29:04

fan bases across the globe all

29:06

come together in one spot. We

29:09

all watch the same premium live events. We're all watching

29:11

the same TV every week, and now we're all watching

29:13

it in the same spot because

29:16

Netflix has that same global vision for

29:20

what it's doing. Man, it's

29:23

an unbelievable time. It

29:25

really – I

29:29

can't wait to see where it goes next. I mean, we

29:31

keep saying I can't wait to see where it goes next.

29:34

But who would have thought? I almost feel like I should

29:36

just keep talking because I feel like the longer I talk,

29:39

I better check my phone. The

29:41

more new news is going to start

29:43

breaking, but I

29:45

think we did it. I think we got it.

29:48

I think we got it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, we

29:51

got it for now. Presumably,

29:54

we'll be back tomorrow to

29:57

get back into the storyline world of – Cody

30:00

Rhodes and CM Punk, but for

30:02

now, man,

30:05

is the wrestling business insane. And by the way, this is such a good

30:07

thing because you know what this does? This

30:09

leaves even more networks open to the fact

30:11

that, hey, if

30:14

WWE Raw is worth $5 billion to

30:16

Netflix, we

30:19

need to start getting these properties. I

30:21

think it's pretty good news. As long as AEW can

30:23

put on a show that people want to watch, I

30:27

think it's pretty good news stepping forward

30:29

for AEW renegotiating with Warner Brothers or

30:31

wherever they go. I don't know. It's

30:34

going to be an interesting time, man. I appreciate all you

30:36

guys. Thanks for hanging out for the emergency pod. Talk

30:38

to you soon.
