Obscast

Hello and welcome to Obscast, a podcast originally created in Summer 2020 by nine UCD and RCSI Medical Students as part of a medical education elective. The aim of this podcast is to aid students in preparation for their Obstetrics and Gynaecology examinations. Each podcast will cover a different topic in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and will follow a format of communication podcasts created specifically for medical student OSCEs. The medical students involved in this podcast are Katherine McDonald, Molly Murphy O’Kane, Jane Fagan, Emily O’Hanlon, Ray Ardill, Jack McCarthy, Matthew Kelly, Louise Dowling, and Leon Le Blanc. This podcast was supervised and supported by Professor Mary Higgins in affiliation with University College Dublin and the Royal College of Surgeons. https://cutt.ly/obscast The aim of this podcast is to continue to upload episodes that aim to support student learning. The second series of podcasts were published in February 2021 and review history taking for pregnant people with pre-eclampsia, diabetes or antepartum haemorrhage. Medical Education electives are held during Summer (July/August) and Winter (January/February) and students attending these electives will be invited to contribute to this podcast (if you are interested in taking part in a UCD MedEd elective in Obstetrics and Gynaecology please contact us at UCD O&G in the National Maternity Hospital, Dublin). Between the elective module times, faculty members in UCD O&G will aim to update the podcasts.
