1:44
Each week we will break down and episode
1:46
of the Office and give exclusive behind the
1:48
scenes stories that only two people who were
1:50
there can tell you where the office ladies.
1:55
Hello! Hi there.
1:58
Are. you ready for a very episode
2:00
today and very controversial. Oh
2:03
we got a lot of mail. So much mail. Everyone
2:06
it's customer loyalty. It is
2:09
season 9 episode 12 written
2:11
by Jonathan Green and Gabe
2:13
Miller and directed by Kelly
2:15
Cantley. Now before you get into
2:18
a summary I thought we needed a little something
2:20
from the episode to kick us off. Oh
2:23
alright. Ready? Yeah. Yes
2:26
we will be delivering a shipment of paper
2:28
today but I will also be delivering
2:30
you a big
2:32
shipment of fun. Are
2:37
we gonna be delivering people a shipment of
2:40
fun? A big shipment of fun, that's right.
2:42
You heard it from Dwight. Buckle in because
2:44
we've got a lot of fun stuff
2:46
today. I like that, Ang.
2:49
I love when you get a kickoff idea.
2:51
It's a big shipment of
2:54
fun. Come on. Alright well
2:56
here's your big summary. An
2:59
important meeting in Philly prevents
3:01
Jim from attending CC's dance recital.
3:04
Dwight goes to great lengths to keep
3:06
Daryl at Dunder Mifflin. Nellie
3:08
fears she will fall out of good
3:11
standing with Andy after pairing Aaron and
3:13
Pete on a project and
3:15
they get real flirty. Yeah they do.
3:18
Finally Pam receives some good news
3:20
but her excitement is dampened by
3:23
a conflict with Jim. Conflict?
3:25
Boy is it dampened? It's a big
3:28
old fight is what it is. It
3:30
is. And like I
3:32
said we got some fan soapbox mail
3:34
about this episode but it is not
3:36
the scene you think it is. Okay.
3:40
It took me by surprise. Don't tell
3:42
me. People had feelings. I mean I
3:45
want you to tell me like when
3:47
it happened. Later. Okay let's
3:49
get into fast fact number one.
3:51
I'm very excited about this fast
3:53
fact. We have a major guest
3:55
star alert in this episode. Your
3:57
daughter Isabelle was one of the
3:59
dance... She was a
4:01
ladybug and I remember it
4:03
so clearly. Oh, I
4:05
had so much fun. First of all, rewatching
4:08
this, rewatching it with her. Then
4:10
I went into my digital clutter and I
4:13
found videos of the rehearsal day.
4:15
It was so cute. Oh
4:18
my gosh. My gosh. Well,
4:20
Steve Burgess reminded me that
4:22
Greg's daughter, Maya, was also
4:24
in this episode and it
4:26
was her dance class that
4:29
was featured and then you folded
4:31
Isabelle in as well. Yes.
4:34
Well, Isabelle and Maya are a year apart and
4:36
they're really close. You know those cousins you grow
4:38
up with that you're close in age and they're just
4:40
so much fun so they have
4:42
that kind of relationship. They're still
4:44
just two peas in a pod.
4:46
In fact, today their schools are playing
4:49
softball against each other and they're both on
4:51
rival softball teams. Oh my goodness. I
4:53
know. So I'm like, oh my gosh, the whole family's going
4:55
to be there. Isabelle's like, mom, we better win. So
4:58
it's a very sweet friendship that they have and they
5:00
were so cute when they were little and this is
5:02
a really special memory for our family that they both
5:05
got to do this. I thought maybe
5:07
I should ask Isabelle what she remembered from this
5:09
day. Now she was only about four years old.
5:11
She's so tiny, but here's what she had to say. Hey
5:15
Office Ladies listeners. I am here
5:17
with my daughter Isabelle. Hi. And
5:19
she's going to talk about her time being
5:21
a ladybug in this episode.
5:24
All right, is we normally ask our
5:26
guests, how'd you get your job on
5:28
the office? But I think we can skip that one.
5:31
Yeah. What
5:33
do you remember? You were so little. Oh,
5:35
well, obviously I don't remember a lot, but
5:37
I do remember being so excited to get
5:39
to wear the costume. The little tutu was
5:41
so cute. Oh, yeah. You were
5:43
in a big tutu face then. I love
5:45
tutus. I still am. And
5:49
I love to be able to hang out with
5:51
my cousin, Maya. We got to do it together,
5:53
which was so fun. Yeah. Oh,
5:55
and hair and makeup. That, I thought that was
5:57
so cool. Oh, yeah. The Ladies
5:59
were... Oh sweet you guy They were
6:01
the best! They were so sweet a minuscule,
6:04
so special and loves it. And they let
6:06
you have lip gloss over the last as
6:08
a you were very quickly so excited. We're
6:10
so excited I write anything else. Now.
6:13
That I can. I
6:15
do remember after the dance he retired
6:18
so I probably was a wanted to
6:20
that up. Oh.
6:22
My gosh, I have. My
6:24
link so bad you know Isabel
6:27
is my goddaughter. I know. This
6:29
was ah so sweet and I
6:31
sound so many to photos and
6:33
then something I was really surprised
6:36
by that I'd forgotten about. Way
6:38
buried in my digital clutter, one
6:40
of the moms from the dance
6:43
class has. Soames. The Dance
6:45
for Her Soul Day. So we had a
6:47
rehearsal day. It was on Tuesday and we
6:49
filmed this on the Wednesday. And.
6:52
Isabel. Came to work and it was so
6:54
cute because she thought well i'm visiting my
6:56
mom at work My mom's part of the
6:59
dance to oh yes it's She kept wanting
7:01
me to come stand by her and like
7:03
learned the dance with her and it's on
7:05
video and it's a pleasure center. And am
7:07
so thankful for the Swedish paid
7:09
case because I sang the studio
7:12
buried. Way deep and email that I had
7:14
forgotten about. yeah, I'm an upper part of it
7:16
and stories because it's just. The. Cutest little
7:18
girls learning the stance and meet me here
7:20
the middle of them Lol I love to
7:23
that and I have really cute photos from
7:25
hair and makeup And then the other thing
7:27
the little girls were so excited about assists
7:29
I phone photos. You know how when we
7:32
would go from our main soundstage may be
7:34
over to like the other sound seizure will
7:36
rather than having all these little girls walk
7:38
all that way from here and make up
7:41
to that other soundstage? This is just in
7:43
a parking lot you guys! It's very safe.
7:45
They let them ride in the big passenger
7:47
van. a wholly support them all
7:50
and shirt here so tickled space as
7:52
see as a photo of their faces
7:54
they're so delighted to go like just
7:56
a few hundred feet and those passenger
7:58
beyonce off Oh
8:00
my goodness, I'm so glad. Isabel,
8:02
thank you for sharing your memories.
8:04
That was so cute. I have
8:07
more to share later in the episode too.
8:09
Well, let's move on to Fast Effect 2. I'm
8:12
calling this the big reveal.
8:14
Boy, is it? Yeah.
8:18
You know, we reveal the documentary
8:21
crew for the first time and
8:24
someone from the documentary crew interacts with
8:26
someone from the office. This
8:29
was a big moment. Ah, I
8:31
mean, not just someone, it's Pam. Yeah,
8:35
and Brian, the boom guy. Well,
8:38
Jenny Tan, who runs Office
8:41
Tally, posted a message
8:43
to fans before this episode came
8:45
out, just to give you a sense of
8:47
like, how big a deal this moment
8:49
was in the history of the show. And
8:52
she said the producers of the show had
8:55
sent her an email that said
8:57
this, hi, Jenny, I know
9:00
the episode summary says, we
9:02
start to see behind the scenes, but
9:05
I wanted to let you know how
9:07
really good tomorrow's episode is. You
9:10
have been great about letting the Office Tally
9:12
fans know what's going on at the office,
9:14
but they should really watch tomorrow night. I
9:17
think they will be sorry if they don't.
9:19
So watch tomorrow night. And
9:21
Jenny Tan went on to say, I
9:24
have never received an email about an
9:26
episode before. So I think this is
9:28
a big deal. Who sent
9:30
it? Someone from the office
9:32
production. Oh my gosh. We
9:35
got a lot of fan questions about the big
9:37
reveal. I like that you
9:39
started to whisper. Because sometimes when life
9:42
gets serious, you'll whisper, you gotta
9:45
take it down. Stephanie
9:47
B. from Cleveland, Ohio said, how
9:50
did you all feel when you saw the
9:52
script featuring the documentary crew? Did
9:54
you know it was coming? I
9:56
remember being astonished when I first saw
9:59
the episode. Tell us everything.
10:01
What do you know about this decision to
10:04
bring the camera crew into the story? And
10:06
Morgan E. from South Bend, Indiana said, I
10:09
can remember exactly where I was sitting
10:11
when you guys smashed that fourth wall.
10:14
And we saw Brian for the
10:16
first time. I was stunned, shocked,
10:18
mouth agape. Even though
10:20
there had been nods to the crew all
10:22
along, this felt major and I never saw
10:25
it coming. I need to know everything about
10:27
this decision. Was there a
10:29
debate about incorporating the documentary crew
10:31
into the storyline? Well,
10:33
Ang, I reached out to Greg about
10:36
this. And I have his
10:38
side of the story. We reached out to
10:40
director Kelly Cantley. And we got
10:42
her thoughts on the matter. But why don't we start
10:44
with us? What did we think? Well,
10:46
okay, this is, oh, man,
10:48
this is a big moment. I
10:51
put this on a list of like bombshell
10:53
table read moments. Yeah. So I remember
10:56
there were just a few where literally you
10:58
felt the air go out of the room,
11:00
like everyone's reaction. When Pam
11:02
and Jim kiss and casino night, and we read that
11:04
at the table read, everyone was like, oh, and
11:08
then when Dwight and Angela was
11:10
there for feels, yes, making out for make
11:13
it out. And it was like, oh my
11:15
gosh, when we find out that Michael
11:17
and Jan hooked up in Jamaica, when
11:21
we find out about Oscar and the senator when
11:23
we find out that Pam was pregnant, there were
11:25
these big moments at the table read. Yes. And
11:27
this was one of the biggest we were like,
11:29
oh my god, oh my god, we're seeing the
11:31
crew that have been there all
11:33
these years. And that he knows her
11:35
well enough that he hugs her in
11:37
a time when she's vulnerable. Wait, does
11:40
he hug her? Okay, in the shooting
11:42
draft, he hugs her. In fact, oh,
11:45
she gets up and goes over to him and
11:47
they hug. I forgot about
11:49
that. Yeah. Oh my god. That is
11:51
not how we ended up filming it.
11:53
Yeah. That's what we read at the
11:56
table read. Yeah. Yeah. It
11:58
was one of those big moments. I remember
12:00
being conflicted but excited. I
12:02
was like, oh my gosh, we are really wrapping
12:04
up the show. If we're
12:07
gonna show the crew, it's real to
12:09
me now that we are wrapping up
12:11
storylines. We are peeking behind the curtain. I
12:13
think that's what it made me realize, that
12:16
this is the beginning
12:18
of our final, final episodes. Yeah,
12:20
these are definitely the layers of
12:22
the onion peeling back. Yes, and
12:25
then of course, none of us
12:27
wanted Jim and Pam to break up.
12:30
We wanted to protect Jim and Pam.
12:32
They were hoping a frame. Hoping
12:34
a frame. Well,
12:38
like I said, we reached out to director Kelly
12:40
Cantley. This was her first episode
12:42
that she's directing, and this is the script
12:44
they hand her. So much
12:47
going on. Yeah, oh my gosh. Here
12:49
is what she had to say. So
12:52
Greg Daniels had told me that I
12:55
would be able to direct an episode
12:57
season nine, which I was really excited
12:59
about, but I didn't know which episode.
13:02
When I got the script for customer
13:04
loyalty, and I read it, I absolutely
13:07
could not believe that Greg had given
13:09
me the script where we revealed the
13:12
documentary crew for the very first
13:14
time, because I was a new director, and
13:16
that just seemed unbelievably huge.
13:20
So I started at the beginning of the
13:22
script, and I just kind of worked my
13:24
way through it. I spent a lot of
13:26
time on stage. I spent a lot of
13:28
time looking at angles and talking to Matt
13:30
Sohn, our DP, about how to stage things
13:32
so that they'd be funny, and so they'd
13:35
be interesting, and look like it belonged in
13:37
our show. If I
13:39
had gotten this script as a first time
13:41
director, I would have pooped my pants and
13:43
handed it back. I know, and like hard
13:45
pass. This is the same thing
13:47
we talked about with Brian Cranston, is you say
13:49
yes, but then you don't know the episode you're
13:51
gonna get. Yeah. Wow. So
13:53
it had a bunch of toddlers.
13:56
Yep. It had
13:58
this major reveal. it had
14:00
multiple locations. Yeah. Well,
14:03
I'll tell you from my point of view, because
14:05
I had been working as a producer this season.
14:07
I knew this was coming, so it was really
14:09
fun for me to sit in that table read
14:12
and have everybody else find out. But
14:15
this storyline of Pam being comforted by
14:17
the boom operator was actually a pitch
14:19
from Mindy Kaling that went all the
14:22
way back to season three. Oh, wow.
14:24
Yeah. And I remember Greg bringing
14:27
it up to me and John over
14:29
the summer during our producer sessions for season
14:31
nine. So I reached out to Greg because
14:33
I wanted to kind of get this
14:35
backstory. And here's what Greg said. Greg
14:38
said, yes, it was originally a pitch for Pam
14:40
when she was in New York going to art
14:42
school. The idea was that she
14:45
was on the subway and she was getting
14:47
hassled by someone and the boom operator would
14:49
drop his boom mic and come in to
14:51
save her. And once he
14:53
was revealed, he would become a little bit of a
14:55
character on the show. Maybe
14:57
she would have a few meals with him.
14:59
The idea was that we wanted to make
15:02
people worry that she was maybe drifting
15:04
apart from Jim while she was in New York. Greg
15:07
said it was pretty much the story role that Rich
15:09
Summer ended up playing. And he
15:11
said he loved this idea and everyone in the
15:13
writer's room loved this idea, but they felt like
15:15
it was something we should save for later, kind
15:17
of like what you were saying, Angela. He
15:20
said, it kind of made you think about
15:22
the documentary crew too much for like a
15:24
season three moment. Yeah, that's too soon, I
15:26
agree. He said it would be hard to
15:28
put that back in the bottle for the
15:30
rest of the season. Yeah, because you're like,
15:32
what? Is the guy standing there? Yes, you'd
15:34
be thinking about them too much. But
15:37
Greg said he always thought it was a really
15:39
creative pitch. And he said, but considering it was
15:42
season nine and he was aiming at the documentary
15:44
airing at the end of season nine, he said
15:46
we wouldn't need to put anything back in the
15:48
bottle. So they could go
15:50
with this. And he said,
15:53
remember we discussed putting a little conflict between
15:55
Pam and Jim for season nine because we
15:57
didn't want it to be all smooth sailing.
16:00
And so he said Jim was going to
16:02
go to Philly, kind of like Pam going
16:04
to New York, and this was an opportunity
16:06
for some drama and tension so that the
16:08
eventual happy ending would feel even better. He
16:11
wants fans to know there was never any
16:14
way that he wasn't going to give Jim
16:16
and Pam a happy ending. But
16:19
the boom operators seem like something that would
16:21
worry the audience. And
16:23
he said, it was really the
16:25
only plausible relationship that Pam could have
16:28
had all these years that we wouldn't
16:30
know anything about because the
16:32
crew's never been included in the footage. And
16:35
he said it did worry the audience. They
16:38
hated Brian so much. Oh,
16:41
they hated him instantly. Yeah,
16:44
I felt so bad for Chris who
16:46
played Brian because, oh
16:48
my lord, the minute he hit the screen people
16:50
were like, hold up, buddy. What
16:53
are you doing? Putting your hand on
16:55
Pam's back. I don't think so. Greg
16:59
said it definitely served its purpose.
17:01
Whew. All right. Moving
17:03
on to fact, number three, which we've touched on
17:05
a little bit. How was this
17:07
received? Um, well,
17:10
many reviewers loved it. E
17:13
Online named the reveal one of the
17:15
best TV moments of the week. Newsday
17:18
called the scene historic and
17:21
said that the moment between Jim and
17:23
Pam fighting and the cameraman making an
17:25
appearance was a lot to take in,
17:28
but that the scene was properly done. The
17:31
Huffington Post called it quote, huge
17:33
and shocking. But
17:35
some people took issue with it. Critics and
17:37
fans alike wondered, is
17:41
this the moment that
17:43
the documentary crew finally steps
17:46
in because Pam is emotional?
17:50
So like when Michael drove his car into
17:52
a lake? Yeah, they're
17:54
not like, wait, wait, Michael, you're
17:56
driving into a lake. Correct. We
17:59
have. a letter from Jennifer
18:01
P. in Spanaway, Washington who said,
18:04
I love Pam, I don't like to see
18:06
her cry, but the documentary
18:09
crew stops filming because of it?
18:13
Here's a list of things the documentary
18:15
crew did not stop filming for. How
18:17
about allowing Andy to float around in
18:19
a lake in a sumo suit and
18:21
not helping him get out? Allowing
18:24
Dwight to start a fire
18:26
in the office. Oh, that's a
18:28
good one. Locking us all inside. Yes. Allowing
18:31
Michael to jump off the roof onto a
18:34
bouncy castle. Or Dwight to ride
18:36
a bicycle on a kite rope? Yes.
18:38
How about letting Uncle Al
18:40
wander around the city when he goes
18:43
missing from Phyllis's wedding? Oh, Uncle Al,
18:45
I didn't even think about that one.
18:48
Yes. How about filming Kevin as
18:50
he passes out in his car when they're
18:52
worried about the dog in the parking lot?
18:55
Allowing Jim to stab into snowmen
18:57
with a pointy umbrella with the
18:59
possibility of Dwight being inside. Allowing
19:02
Angela to hire a hit man to
19:06
injure Hunter. Commit a possible crime.
19:08
They did not stop Dwight from
19:10
riding a bike across a high
19:12
wire. They did not stop Michael
19:15
from attempting to frame Toby. They
19:17
allowed Dwight to shoot Stanley
19:19
with animal tranquilizers. And
19:22
Jennifer says, I'm sure there are
19:24
plenty more. So yes. Well, Jennifer,
19:27
I totally agree. Although
19:29
in those instances, none of
19:31
them turned to the camera
19:33
operator and said, Brian, what
19:35
am I doing wrong? Yes.
19:38
Pam, and this was a big note that we
19:41
had, which was that Pam has
19:43
to break the wall. Yeah. Pam
19:45
broke the wall. Yes. Brian
19:47
did not. Correct. The documentary
19:50
crew did not interfere until
19:52
Pam initiated that
19:54
contact. Well,
19:57
that's all I have for fast facts. I'll get into the
19:59
weeds on how we filmed that
20:01
big reveal later when we
20:03
break down that moment. Well, let's take
20:05
a break because when we get back, I have
20:07

Yes. Well, this is why
21:40
doing the Airbnb thing was so perfect. Yep. Well,
21:43
this family we were staying with told us that
21:45
they listed their house on Airbnb back
21:47
in California. Oh, that's so smart.
21:49
I know a lot of people that do this. It's

23:24
First of all, you guys, when Steve Burgess
23:27
sends me the call sheets, he always includes
23:29
a photo from his day. It's
23:32
the cutest thing. And for this
23:34
week, he had some flowers blooming
23:36
in his yard and he
23:38
sent me a picture, and so I sent him
23:41
one back of my flowers. It just makes me
23:43
so happy. I feel like I'm trading emails with
23:45
my dad. I totally get it, Angela. The
23:47
other day, I wrote to Randy Cordray, and I
23:50
was like, I know I'm not reaching out to
23:52
you every week anymore, but I just wanted to
23:54
say hi. I know. There's such a wonderful part
23:56
of this journey with us, and I feel that
23:58
way about Kent Siborn Act. They'll yeah,
24:01
They are kind of like the
24:04
dad of the a vagina. and
24:06
yeah I'm. So.
24:08
Our first day of filming started on
24:10
November. Twenty six, Two Thousand and Twelve.
24:13
For this week the weather averaged a high
24:15
of seventy four degrees and a low of
24:17
fifty degrees and we had rain wind. Seats
24:19
are Friday. That. Sounds so pleasant.
24:22
It's. A nice time a year? Yeah,
24:25
Well, that's your weather report from the call seat.
24:27
And. That's when we were filming this episode. November
24:29
two thousand and Twelve. Will. This
24:32
episode opens with a very
24:34
cheeky cold open. Dwight.
24:36
Is going through a file cabinet over
24:39
by the accounts desks and he is
24:41
complaining because he's like they're so many
24:43
dead accounts in here too. We have
24:46
a clean this thing out and he
24:48
finds. A. Letter and
24:50
old letter from a Robert
24:52
Dunder. Implying. That he
24:55
might be in possession of perhaps
24:57
the Holy Grail that he has
24:59
hit it somewhere in the office.
25:01
Yeah, the letter reads: a valuable
25:03
artifact has come into my possessions.
25:05
I have hidden it until such
25:07
time as a person strong influence
25:09
may safely recover it this golden
25:11
solace as have a measurable historical
25:13
and religious significance. Pam over here
25:15
says she's like, oh my gosh,
25:17
this is a classic template and
25:19
she calls him yeah and she's
25:22
ask you about it and. He's like
25:24
Pam. I am too busy to do pranks on. Oh.
25:26
My gosh, he remembers
25:28
he did this years
25:31
ago. He. Spent weeks on
25:33
it. And why only just
25:35
now Seinfeld? Yeah, Jim says he
25:37
stayed late every night for a month.
25:39
shed a lot more free time back
25:41
then he. and he says the Dunder
25:43
towed. Well. Here.
25:45
Is that undercoat? Breakdown Of Clues: Are
25:47
you ready? I'm ready. First Clue. Is
25:50
a light bulb which reveals a message
25:52
written an invisible ink. Higher.
25:55
Than numbers go. Dwight. Immediately
25:57
as like at the ceiling above accounting.
26:00
Next clue is a key with a
26:02
tag marked x Oscar solves this when
26:04
she's like annex. It must be something
26:06
in their. Over. The Annex
26:08
in a locked bottom drawer and
26:10
Clark's desk as a scroll reading
26:12
Cds intro T or seat as
26:14
entrance. This leads everyone over to
26:16
front reception were Dwight cuts open
26:18
a sofa person define five read
26:20
playing cards Kevin immediately like that
26:22
the flesh is no Kevin his
26:24
are card guy Dwight that emerges
26:26
from the bathroom. he's clearly gone
26:28
in the toilet somehow and is
26:30
sound a little. I don't
26:32
know. Let the little. Palette. Staffer?
26:35
You know, like a little warehouse. little
26:37
toys, Your life. Warehouse.
26:40
For. Plus forklift. that's it's. professor.
26:44
And everyone is cheering. Though I get
26:46
somewhere else they go down to the
26:48
warehouse. They're. Tearing the warehouse apart.
26:51
They. Can't find it. Difficult. To
26:53
Glenn his enjoying a donut as he
26:55
dunks it into coffee in a golden
26:58
chalice, yes, I guess he found it
27:00
he found at a long time. I
27:02
have one both of hard to play in this
27:04
whole cold open just want. Such
27:07
as. As
27:09
Dwight as doing and finding all the
27:11
clues it cuts back to gym at
27:14
Athlete Engine says. I can't wait
27:16
for Dwight to get to the and and find
27:18
the sake grill. Or wait. Is. It with
27:20
that I get a grill I can't remember. I'm.
27:23
Sorry Jim would remember. did you see the
27:25
golden showers that glint of dipping of don't
27:28
it and he he is very elaborate he
27:30
had to special order that are go to
27:32
a store. You. Would remember buying
27:34
a golden shower Some I wronged. You're
27:36
not wrong. We have what I was
27:39
calling a fan catch but could call
27:41
a book card from Randy See in
27:43
Columbia, Maryland who said. How. Do
27:45
all these artifacts still exist after the
27:48
various things that the office has been
27:50
through, such as the fires that both
27:52
Ryan and Dwight set. Yeah.
27:54
How sad thing Still up in the
27:56
ceiling above Accounting is like member ask
27:58
ourselves through the ceiling. When
28:00
are they are yelling? Okay, it's still just
28:03
like right up there. Of all
28:05
the clues. I believe they would
28:07
also be in their place. Little or
28:09
no one cleans. Michael has done so
28:11
much to the toilet. Okay, the two
28:13
spots are the toilet and above accounted
28:15
feeling. Yeah, I'm just saying idea. How.
28:18
Are these clues still there? I. Did
28:20
want to point out some background details and
28:22
just give a big shoutout to our crew.
28:24
at forty four seconds. We. See flashbacks
28:26
that edge of gym at his
28:28
desk planning this whole thing. guess
28:30
and he's got, you know, his
28:32
all that wardrobe, his old floppy
28:35
hair I tried. they tried to
28:37
make a sassy here but I
28:39
didn't buy it as well. I.
28:41
Wanted to point out all the
28:44
ways that the Sat had been
28:46
taken back in time. So there's
28:48
a little piece that you can
28:50
see over gems shoulder of the
28:52
manager's office and it's been redressed
28:54
to be Michael's office. There
28:57
is no desk for Andy or
28:59
Nellie. You know that desk that
29:01
when he added yahoo the Phyllis
29:03
Stanley Club And there is not
29:05
a desk for Pm in the
29:07
gym. Dwight Clump, It's back to
29:10
that staff of Cooper Boxes. That.
29:12
It was very early season
29:14
and love that! Yeah, Great
29:16
detail. Before. We and this
29:19
cold open break down and get into the
29:21
episode I have to background catches: isn't number
29:23
one? Meredith has a new wig. Yes, she's
29:25
a blonde. The sweet yeah. Number.
29:27
Two: Angela is wearing pants. Oh
29:31
that must have and comfy. I
29:33
know. Well. I have one last
29:35
thing before we move. I have a cold
29:37
open snark. Oh. You.
29:39
Prefer to have a favorite
29:41
six Six the first. Oh
29:43
effects. Are
29:45
like those. Lists of sorry kids at we're
29:48
going to be a little late for school Jealous
29:50
of the morning? sorry I gotta hear it's or
29:52
a so true yes So sure if. This
29:54
is your Face lit up. They announced that
29:57
I know that up. Oh okay okay. I
30:00
just need to note that
30:03
Pam is on the phone in the
30:05
background every step of the
30:07
way. She's on the phone giving Jim
30:09
a play-by-play of this whole search that
30:11
Dwight is on. I
30:14
just think it's interesting that he's able
30:16
to step away from work for that
30:18
to get real-time updates on his prank.
30:21
Right. I see where you're going.
30:23
Okay. Yeah. You got
30:25
it. Yeah, I got it. But
30:28
Pam's the bad guy this season. Oh,
30:30
now. I guess. Come on. That's
30:33
okay, though. Yep. Yep,
30:35
yep. Fine, fine. Well, I just
30:37
sent you a link to an article
30:39
titled, Jim Albert Sucks. I
30:42
know you did. It is
30:44
about this season. I know. Finally,
30:47
I feel like finally maybe people
30:49
are seeing it through a different
30:52
lens. Ah. Okay.
30:56
Now, we're starting the episode. Oh,
30:59
my God. You sound like a
31:01
cartoon. You sound
31:04
like a cartoon. I want to do
31:06
more voice-over work. No, you started the
31:08
episode. I want to do more voice-over work.
31:10
So do I. I'm going
31:12
to try some stuff out on the pod. I
31:15
really do. I want to be in
31:17
an animated show. Yeah.
31:20
Don't have to do my hair. Don't have
31:22
to do her hair. Never. Never
31:25
again. Never again. Don't worry
31:27
about the back of my head. I mean, I let it go anyway. But
31:30
lady, I'm wearing a hat today because
31:33
I'm trying to do fashionable
31:35
hat because I haven't
31:38
dyed my roots and I didn't do the back
31:40
of my hair. You have a roots day. It's
31:42
the 50s. I'm fully 50s
31:45
now and I've started to stop doing
31:47
the back of my hair. Yeah. What's
31:50
going on? You know, I feel like when you're young,
31:52
you wear a hat because you're like, I didn't wash
31:54
my hair, whatever. I wear a hat. Because you get
31:56
older, it's like I didn't
31:59
do. my roots. I've
32:02
got some greys and the back of my head's
32:04
a hot mess. Put on a hat. Those
32:07
are the three reasons I put a hat on today. Well,
32:10
I think you look really cute. I think it looks
32:12
cute too. All right. Time
32:15
for the Amba Show. I know. That's
32:17
my, um, another one of the characters
32:19
I can do for any of this.
32:21
Can you sustain? Can you sustain? Can
32:23
you sustain? Sure I can. Oh, you
32:26
can. You really can. Hey,
32:29
Ang! I mean, write
32:31
the show for her, please. All
32:33
right. For real. We
32:35
open with Nellie in the conference
32:37
room with Aaron and Pete. Yeah.
32:40
Apparently Aaron and Pete are part of
32:42
this social media initiative
32:44
that Nellie has set up. So
32:46
they're trying to have an online
32:48
presence for Dunder Mifflin. Yeah. They've
32:51
created a fake profile for a really
32:53
cool guy named Derek McBlack. And
32:56
I guess it's just Pete and Sunglasses. And
32:58
they're trying to get likes and followers
33:00
and they're creating fake accounts to
33:03
get those. And at
33:05
the same time, they're just being
33:07
flirty and super cute. And Nellie
33:09
says, I consider myself a genius for putting the
33:12
two of them together. First of
33:14
all, I just want to say kudos to
33:16
our writers for making
33:18
Nellie's job a job.
33:20
Right. She really does
33:22
have special projects. Now, do
33:25
we need these special projects?
33:27
Right. Probably not. Right. But,
33:30
you know, the social media initiative.
33:32
Special project. Yeah. Makes it legitimate.
33:35
All right. We had a fan question
33:37
from Chris W. from the New Forest,
33:39
England. When Aaron and Pete are working
33:42
on their grand social media initiative, they
33:44
set up a fake profile for Derek
33:46
McBlack. Aaron informs Nellie that
33:48
Derek is in fact just Pete
33:50
and Sunglasses. We only
33:52
get a brief glimpse of McBlack,
33:54
but I'm not convinced this is
33:56
Pete and Sunglasses. Would
33:58
the real Derek McBlack? please stand
34:00
up. I didn't think it looked like
34:03
Pete either. Me either.
34:05
I reached out to
34:07
see Burgess and Steve said,
34:09
Chris, you're right. That doesn't look
34:11
like Jake. Steve
34:15
said I don't have any info. I'm
34:17
pretty sure we didn't ever
34:20
take a picture of Jake. My guess is
34:22
it's a stock photo that the art department
34:24
picked of a guy in sunglasses. Good
34:27
catch. Totally agree. Here's one
34:29
little catch in the scene. Did anyone else
34:31
notice that Jake Lacey has a cold? I
34:34
didn't. He has a cold in this
34:36
episode. How do you know? For sure. He's
34:39
like, yeah, exactly. He's like, this is
34:41
my cold. That's what he sounds
34:43
like. He's like, come on, guys. He
34:46
literally says that in the conference room later. He's like,
34:48
come on, guys. This is all about. I didn't
34:51
notice this, but I
34:53
just want to say you can do
34:55
person with cold voiceover. You put
34:58
it on my resume. Yeah. Aaron's
35:00
going to have a talking head where
35:02
she's giddy about getting to work with Pete.
35:04
She talks about how well they work together
35:07
and she gets all flustered. Yeah. Yeah.
35:10
Clearly sweet on him. Yeah. She's like, you
35:12
know, I mean, I probably
35:14
work well with a girl or a guy or someone
35:16
I'm into. Not that I'm into
35:18
Pete. Yes. She's very cute. Next
35:21
up, we see Jim at athlete. We find
35:23
out that one of their biggest investors has
35:25
requested a lunch meeting and he just says,
35:27
Hey guys, is it cool if we just
35:29
do it a little early? Because remember, I
35:32
have to get back to Scranton today and
35:34
they're like, sure. Yeah, no problem. Yeah. And
35:36
then Jim has this talking head. He's
35:39
very excited about CC's ballet recital. He's
35:41
taught her a signature move, the CC
35:43
spin and kiss, and he demonstrates it.
35:45
He's very cute dad moment. I
35:48
absolutely love the guy who is walking
35:50
in the background of this talking head.
35:52
Oh no. Did you see him? I
35:54
watched it three times. No, I didn't
35:57
see him. Oh my gosh. It's such
35:59
good background. He's walking
36:01
by and Jim does the spin and the
36:03
kiss and he just kind of looks in
36:05
to the conference room
36:07
as you would. Right. Someone
36:10
was spinning and whatever for a camera.
36:13
It's very good job, very, very
36:15
good job to the person who did this cross.
36:18
Well now we're going to set up a Daryl Dwight
36:20
storyline. Daryl arrives to Dunder Mifflin.
36:22
He has an athlete bag and
36:24
Dwight immediately is like, why do you have that? Why
36:27
are you? And he calls the
36:29
company Stumpiny, AKA Stupid Company. That really made
36:31
me laugh. It made me laugh too. This
36:34
is when Daryl tells Dwight that he's going to
36:36
work for Stumpiny. Uh-huh. Dwight is
36:38
shocked. He's so mad. He calls Jim.
36:40
He's furious. He's like, hey Halpert,
36:43
what's the big idea? First you jump ship. Now
36:45
you're stealing Daryl too. When will it end? And
36:48
Jim says, we'll take your worst fear
36:50
and multiply it by infinity. Dwight
36:52
says, you won't stop until you've poached us all.
36:55
And Jim goes, yeah, even you. And
36:57
then here's one of my favorite lines from the
37:00
whole entire episode. Dwight says, no, I'll be damned
37:02
if I'm going to let us lose me. I
37:05
know. It made me
37:07
laugh so hard. Well
37:09
now Pam is going to approach accounting
37:11
because she needs to ask Angela if
37:14
she's heard anything about the Irish American
37:16
Cultural Center mural. Guess
37:18
what guys? This
37:20
has been the Senator recommended
37:22
Pam to be the artist
37:24
for this big mural project
37:26
in Scranton. Yeah, I loved
37:28
this callback. Remember the
37:30
Senator had come to the office with coffee
37:32
during the target. During the target. It
37:35
was in deleted scenes. Yep. And here
37:37
we have this footage because the Senator is looking
37:39
for Angela but wants to talk to Oscar and
37:41
Daryl says, I think they're in the
37:44
warehouse. Mm-hmm. So we've got
37:46
this great footage of the Senator noticing Pam
37:48
making her mural. Pam has
37:50
a talking head where she says Senator
37:52
Lipton helped me submit my design for
37:54
a new mural on a downtown building
37:57
and she's waiting to hear, you
37:59
know, she's trying to do it. downplay it. She's like,
38:01
I mean, there's so many people they would go with.
38:03
Why would they go with an unknown like me when
38:05
they can have a big name like Tracy Fleeb? Oh,
38:07
Tracy Fleeb. Big time
38:09
mural artist. Big deal. Big
38:12
deal. Yeah. I know for a
38:14
fact that Greg likes funny names. I
38:16
feel like a bunch of names were pitched
38:19
and they loved Fleeb. Tracy Fleeb. Sorry, all
38:21
the real Fleeb's out there. There
38:24
are some. I'm sure, but it is an
38:26
interesting sounding name. It is. You
38:29
must know that. Yes. If your last name
38:31
is Fleeb, you know. You know. It's like
38:33
this family we knew growing up when we
38:35
lived overseas. Their last name
38:37
was Herb. Herb. Herb. Like
38:40
Basil? Is it Herb? No,
38:42
like E-R-B. Herb. Oh. And
38:45
guess what? The dad's first name was.
38:47
Cared. Herb. No, it wasn't. Yes, it
38:49
was. Stop it. Herb
38:51
Herb. Come on.
38:54
His name was Herb Herb? His name was
38:56
Herb Herb. But
38:58
I'm just saying Herb Herb knew he
39:00
had a funny name. Why
39:02
did Herb Herb's parents do that to him? Maybe
39:04
they had a sense of humor. Oh.
39:07
Yeah. Sometimes it happens. That's
39:10
a head shaker. You're an herb. You're a fleeb. Do
39:13
we have Fleeb? No. No one would do that. No.
39:16
No. Herb Herb. It
39:18
was real. Okay.
39:24
Well, Angela has no information. She doesn't know
39:26
if they've gone with Tracy Fleeb. She doesn't
39:28
know anything. She doesn't. Mm-mm. This
39:31
is when Pam is going to share that
39:33
she's Oscar-CC's recital. Oscar could
39:35
not be less enthusiastic. He's like,
39:38
okay. Whatever. I have a
39:40
question. What? Why is this dance
39:42
recital in the middle of a work week? They
39:44
often are. No. Sometimes...
39:47
It must be a school thing. I
39:50
mean, could you make it harder for working parents
39:52
to get there for their kid? Why you have
39:54
this in the middle of the day, in the
39:57
middle of a work... It's not even the end of the day. I
39:59
mean, I go... a lot of things at the
40:01
kids school but it's always like at the
40:03
end of the day. It's like an evening
40:06
thing which is always a heavy lift because
40:08
you're like oh my god. I will say
40:10
though in elementary when they're really little I
40:12
mean this is little this is like preschool
40:14
age kindergarten age and they're really little sometimes
40:16
they're big events are like at 1.30 or
40:18
2 p.m. and
40:21
you have to scramble to get there as a
40:23
working parent. I mean okay I thought
40:27
it was a little odd. So
40:29
after that Pam talking head about Tracy
40:31
Fleab there would have started
40:34
this deleted storyline about Angela's weird bent
40:36
foot. Remember that? Yes. Yes. Yes. And
40:38
we talked about it with Kelly Cantley
40:40
when we interviewed her because she was
40:43
my foot double one day and we
40:45
both had to contort our feet. Well when
40:47
I was looking in my digital clutter for
40:50
this episode I mean I
40:52
know I've already shared a photo I found
40:54
more. There were more pictures. So
40:56
in addition to finding all of
40:58
these extra photos from the fake
41:00
foot fitting mm-hmm I also found
41:02
an email I sent to you. Oh mm-hmm
41:06
here's what it's titled. Ugg
41:09
and Ugg some more. Oh boy.
41:12
I couldn't wait to open
41:14
this email. Okay it
41:17
starts with this. I had to
41:19
get here super early for this random prosthetic foot
41:21
gag that Greg loves and I bet it won't
41:23
even make it into the episode. Oh no and
41:25
it didn't. And get this a
41:28
prosthetic specialist guy had to come to
41:30
my house over Thanksgiving break to take
41:32
measurements of my foot and
41:35
this morning I had to meet with Phil
41:37
Shea and Alicia to figure out wardrobe that
41:39
will go over the fake foot leg and
41:41
then we had to take photos of the fake foot
41:43
leg and it's only 930 a.m. Oh boy. It's so great
41:50
that you have these because this is
41:52
like sort of pre-texting where if you
41:54
did want to fill someone in you
41:56
wrote it an email we would write
41:58
emails. Yes and one of the... reasons
42:00
I emailed you rather than called you
42:02
invented is that you had the morning
42:04
off and you had a baby. Yeah. You had
42:06
Weston. And so I was like, I'm not gonna
42:09
rant to her about this prosthetic fake
42:12
foot gags that Greg wants. I'm just gonna
42:14
email her and she'll see it when she
42:16
can. Oh my goodness. Well,
42:18
you called it. It wasn't in the
42:21
end of the show. No. You're like all this effort.
42:23
I interrupted my Thanksgiving break. A
42:26
man came to my house. Oh my gosh.
42:30
Well now Pam and Cece are in the car
42:33
and they call Jim. They call Daddy. This is
42:35
really cute. So sweet.
42:38
But this is where Pam is gonna find out
42:40
that Jim is still in Philly and he's not
42:42
gonna make the recital. This investor
42:44
might back out and
42:47
Jim can't leave. So Jim says, Pam,
42:49
will you please film the recital? And he sort of
42:52
starts talking to her kind of condescending about how to
42:54
film it. And she's like, look, I know how to
42:57
point a rectangle at something and film it.
43:00
And then he's like, okay. And then it's time
43:02
to say goodbye. And then
43:04
there's this pause. And then he's like, hey
43:07
Pam, you have to press end. You know,
43:09
which is sort of meant to be like a dig
43:12
at her phone skills. Yeah. Lady.
43:14
Why can't Jim just hang up the phone?
43:17
This is the scene of what
43:19
people were pissed off about. For
43:21
so many reasons. I saw
43:23
the mail for this episode and I couldn't
43:25
believe it. Where should I
43:27
begin? I'll begin with
43:30
Amanda C. from Montreal, Canada.
43:32
Amanda says, I have to go on
43:34
a little rant about Jim, but maybe not
43:36
from the moment you think what absolutely
43:38
grinds my gears about Jim's behavior is when Pam
43:41
is on the phone with him in the car.
43:43
And he implies that she doesn't know how to
43:45
use her phone to video the recital by saying,
43:47
see Pam, you still need to hang up the
43:49
phone. Excuse me, sir.
43:52
She is driving. Can
43:54
you not hang it up yourself? And
43:57
then it will automatically end the call on her
43:59
phone. Samantha L. from Tampa,
44:01
Florida said, the thing
44:03
I actually cannot get past
44:06
is the incident when Pam is in the car
44:08
on the way to Cece's recital. Why is Jim
44:10
giving Pam such a hard time for being bad
44:12
with technology because she doesn't hang up the phone?
44:15
Pam is driving with your
44:17
child in the back seat.
44:20
You hang up the phone, Jim. You're
44:23
not the one that would need to take your hand
44:25
off the wheel of a moving vehicle. Let's
44:30
see. Samantha goes on
44:32
to say, who's the one who's
44:34
really bad with the cell phone
44:36
technology, huh? Spoiler alert, not Pam.
44:39
Another letter from Nora E. in
44:42
New Orleans, Louisiana. I
44:44
wanna go on record to say that the
44:46
tipping point moment when Jim has clearly gone
44:48
full ass was in this episode when he's
44:51
on the phone with Pam and
44:53
he berates her for not hanging up the
44:55
phone. She's driving, he's
44:58
at work. He's clearly
45:00
not in a huge rush to return to his
45:02
meeting since he's able to stay at his desk
45:04
and what, have a gotcha moment with his own
45:06
wife? This seat of
45:08
the car makes me so deeply angry.
45:11
I need this full dickhead moment to
45:13
be acknowledged. I love that she puts
45:15
full in front of her curse words.
45:18
I know. Full ass. I
45:20
wanna use that. He's gone full ass. I
45:23
do. I know. So,
45:25
Ang, it's literally what you said. You
45:28
said it. You're like, why can't he
45:30
hang up the phone? This is just
45:32
three of the letters we got about
45:34
this moment, but this is
45:36
very good foreshadowing for what is
45:38
gonna happen later. And I think
45:41
an interesting dynamic in their relationship,
45:44
which is that, and I think some
45:46
relationships have this. They've got the gotcha
45:48
person. Oh, I gotta
45:50
point out the little thing,
45:52
gotcha. You said
45:54
that you are good at cleaning out
45:57
the fridge, but gotcha found a rotten
45:59
tomato. or whatever it
46:01
is, you know, the gotcha people, the
46:03
gotcha moments, which are just like so
46:05
toxic for a relationship. It's petty. Pettiness
46:08
is pettiness. Yeah. But
46:11
Jim's in a mood, he's stressed, he's not
46:13
handling it well. In
46:15
conclusion, I hope that us discussing it
46:17
today on the podcast has brought some
46:20
of you relief because the
46:23
number of heated letters we got about
46:25
this moment, I felt it. We also
46:27
asked Kelly Cantley about directing this scene
46:29
and here's what she had to say.
46:32
Cece in the car, surprisingly,
46:34
Cece in the
46:36
car was really hard to shoot because Cece
46:39
was a little girl and little kids don't
46:41
do lines. So Jenna, I don't
46:43
know if you remember, we shot all of
46:45
your dialogue and then we shot lots of
46:48
both of us taking turns just saying the
46:50
lines. I think we started with you doing
46:52
it and then we wanted to go from
46:54
you to the little girl so
46:56
we would see you talking. So you
46:58
did it a few times where you would just say
47:00
her line and she would say it back and I
47:02
believe I did it a bunch of times on
47:05
the speaker in the car. So
47:07
I actually had forgotten that until I watched
47:09
the episode again. I
47:12
actually did remember that. I
47:14
had such a great rapport with those little
47:16
girls, not to toot my own horn, but
47:18
I'm 50 now, which is the decade of
47:20
tooting your own horn. It's time to toot.
47:22
Bailey and Sienna, I just
47:24
loved them so much and we would do a
47:26
thing where we would do like repeat me. So
47:29
I would say their line and they would say their line and
47:31
we made a little game out of it. They did great. I
47:34
thought it was so cute. Yeah, those
47:36
girls were so cute. Well, lady, I think
47:38
we should take a break and
47:41
when we come back,
47:43
I have a copy of Dwight's Loyalty
47:45
Oath and everyone's
47:47
coffee order. Okay.

50:43
What are you? Who's that guy?

Is a voice of reason guy. My.

51:09
Or that and Nellie and
51:11
Pete and Aaron are celebrating
51:13
their first real white. They've.
51:16
Got a non seats person.
51:18
So like Dunder Mifflin? Yeah.
51:20
And they are very excited. They do
51:23
their low handshake, it's really cute and
51:25
Nellie is like oh no, what have
51:27
I done that she said and he
51:29
is just starting to be nice to
51:31
me. And now I've driven his girlfriend
51:33
into the arms of a younger man.
51:36
And she has see seat and the on

51:55
you know we were always doing background for
51:58
yeah another. Super. cutesy
52:00
background. Like Pete
52:03
and Aaron are just
52:05
continuing very animated, flirty,
52:07
hand-shaky cutesiness. Dwight
52:09
is now going to announce that he's ordering
52:12
coffee for the whole team and presents a

the top flap and discovers it's actually
52:18
a loyalty pledge. He's trying to be
52:20
sneaky and get them to sign it.
52:23
Well, after this episode aired, NBC
52:25

52:29
to say. By writing my

52:44
loyalty and priorities will be
52:46
wholly with company and no
52:48
side projects or extracurricular endeavors,
52:50
aka moonlighting at dumb-sounding companies,
52:52
including but not limited to
52:55
athlete. I
52:58
also promise not to take tips
53:00
or kickbacks or any form of payola,
53:03
as such term is generally defined in the
53:05
radio industry, in exchange for
53:07
giving special treatment to any customers, here
53:10
and after, customers. My
53:12
devotion to the company shall be nothing
53:14
less than unconditional obedience and I shall
53:16
be prepared at all times to give
53:18
my life to uphold this oath in
53:21
this life and the hereafter. One
53:24
coffee order maximum per name, no pizza. And
53:27
then it listed everybody's coffee order. Can
53:30
I just say I feel like he had
53:32
to put no pizza because it's come up
53:34
before they've had a coffee order and someone
53:37
has also asked for pizza. Yes.
53:40
All right, here is the coffee order
53:43
for the folks at Dunder Mifflin. Phyllis
53:46
ordered a banana fruit smoothie. Adm.
53:49
ordered a small decaf. Daryl
53:52
ordered a double latte lotsa
53:54
latte. Oscar
53:56
ordered a vente cay ti
53:59
misto half-sour. Kevin
54:01
ordered a cappuccino. Is that
54:04
different from a cappuccino? I
54:07
think it's what Kevin thinks is a
54:09
cappuccino. He wrote, cappuccino. Okay, okay. Pete
54:13
ordered a cappuccino with cinnamon.
54:17
Clark ordered a tall and
54:19
black like my women. Nellie
54:22
ordered a black tea, any,
54:24
with lemon like my men.
54:28
Aaron ordered a vanilla blendy thing,
54:30
five sugars, happy face. Meredith
54:33
ordered an Irish coffee, extra
54:35
Irish. And
54:37
this goes to your theory, Angela.
54:39
Creed ordered a pastrami on rye,
54:41
fries, coke, nothing to drink. Yeah,
54:45
there you go. Angela did not order any.
54:49
No, she didn't. Angela
54:51
Martin and Angela Kinsey, I don't want to
54:53
be part of your coffee order. Angela Martin
54:55
does not want to be stimulated. She
54:59
doesn't. And Angela Kinsey doesn't drink
55:01
coffee. And Angela Kinsey doesn't drink coffee. Dwight's
55:04
now burst into the annex and he
55:06
says, Clark, I need any complaints pertaining
55:08
to Daryl in the past few weeks.
55:11
I want it broken down by keywords
55:13
and Clark's like, listen, that's going to
55:16
be tough. We use Windows 95. And
55:19
Dwight's like, fine, just print it out. Then this
55:22
cuts to that hilarious
55:24
dot matrix printer that's
55:26
like, it's going to
55:28
take forever. And
55:30
when we asked Kelly Cantley what memory she had
55:33
from shooting this episode, this was one of the
55:35
scenes she mentioned. Here's what she said.
55:38
The scene where Dwight
55:40
goes into Clark and tells him
55:43
to print all the complaints. I
55:46
looked and looked at that scene and I
55:48
could not figure out how it was going
55:50
to be funny until we shot it. And
55:53
Matt's own brilliant operator
55:56
dropped the camera down to just over
55:58
the machine. on to
56:00
Dwight and Clark and then I thought it
56:02
was just so funny. It makes me laugh
56:05
every time I see it. I
56:08
think this scene is so funny because
56:10
it is the callback to Clark being
56:13
frustrated by our
56:16
just dinosaur technology. Yeah, talk
56:18
about old tech. He's surrounded
56:20
by old tech. Dwight
56:22
is now going to hold a conference room
56:24
meeting about customer loyalty. What is it? Can
56:26
you hold it in your hand? Can
56:29
you dump it on a woman? No, because
56:31
it's an idea. What does it mean?
56:34
This whole time a man has been
56:36
sitting at the front of the conference
56:38
room, Dwight is now going to introduce
56:40
him as Mr. Romanko, a client of
56:42
20 years who came in today and
56:44
raged at Daryl who was distracted because
56:47
he was working on outside projects. And
56:49
Mr. Romanko was like, no, no, no, I
56:51
wouldn't classify this as rage. He seems a
56:53
bit confused. Well, there was a scene that
56:55
would have come previous to this that sort
56:57
of explains it all and set up the
56:59
whole scene. In the shooting draft it read
57:01
like this, a client, Mr.
57:04
Romanko, a meek little man enters
57:06
the office tentatively. Dwight spots him. Dwight
57:08
says, Mr. Romanko, right away, so
57:10
sorry you felt the need to come
57:12
in. Mr. Romanko says,
57:14
I didn't. You called, but
57:17
it's such a small matter. Maybe
57:19
we should just, Dwight says, I
57:21
understand, but we take customer loyalty
57:23
very seriously here. Emergency conference room
57:25
meeting everyone. Mr. Romanko is
57:27
like confused. He's like, what? And he turns
57:29
to Mr. Romanko and says, I hope you
57:31
have nothing planned for the whole afternoon. Mr.
57:35
Romanko says, actually, I do have.
57:37
And Dwight pushes Romanko into the
57:40
conference room and then shouts to
57:42
everyone, I rate customer coming through.
57:44
Yes. When
57:46
we get back to the conference room, Daryl
57:48
is going to say, I'm so sorry. We
57:51
were a day late on your delivery, but
57:53
two of our trucks were down for repairs
57:55
and I don't see this ever happening again.
57:57
And Mr. Romanko is like.
58:00
Great, he's satisfied with that answer. He wants
58:03
to leave. Yeah, he's like good for me.
58:05
Dwight's like no. Mr. Ramego is
58:07
angry and Darryl forgot that loyalty
58:09
is the key to relationships. Well,
58:12
Nellie is going to be like I agree. Yes,
58:15
she sees her way out now and she's going
58:17
to take it. She says
58:19
loyalty is everything and they should
58:22
all ask themselves if they've been
58:24
faithful in their relationships. Stanley
58:27
is like uh-uh, he's not going to
58:29
participate in this conversation. Nellie
58:31
says Darryl is dating Dunder Mifflin
58:33
but flirting with athlete on the
58:35
side. Then they start using Erin
58:37
as an example.
58:40
Like what would it be like
58:43
if Erin who is in a
58:45
relationship with Andy was flirting with
58:47
someone on the side like maybe
58:50
Creed. And Creed's like he's so
58:52
funny. He's like yeah, I'll play that
58:54
out. He's like sure, yeah, let's
58:56
see what, yeah, let's play that
58:58
out. And imagine during all of
59:00
this poor Mr. Ramego. Like can
59:02
I go? And this conference room
59:04
scene was so fun to shoot.
59:07
We broke and laughed several times
59:09
and I loved this little brief
59:11
exchange between Angela and Erin. I
59:13
want to play it. Well,
59:16
I think it would be a moral for Erin to cheat
59:18
on Andy. Oh, I'm sorry. Didn't you cheat
59:20
on Andy? Yes, and he didn't like it.
59:25
I loved that too. I loved when you said
59:27
yes and he didn't like it very much. Yes,
59:29
and I'm really put out and he didn't like
59:31
it. One of
59:33
our favorite things as a cast, we've talked about
59:35
this before, is to have a big group scene
59:38
where everyone has a moment and
59:40
this was one of those scenes. Everyone
59:42
in the conference room had something hilarious
59:44
that they contributed. Yes, and by
59:46
the way, Mr. Ramego was
59:48
great. Yes, guest star shout
59:50
out to Mr. Ramego played by Bob
59:53
Bluberman. He was originally a lawyer who
59:55
left law to become an actor in
59:57
1995. Well, Bob has crossover connections. with both you
1:00:00
and I. You want to hear them? Yes. Bob
1:00:03
and I have both had roles on Spin
1:00:05
City and Strong Medicine. And
1:00:07
Angela, your crossover connections are Hot in
1:00:09
Cleveland, New Girl, and Fresh Off the
1:00:12
Boat. Bob, we've worked on so many
1:00:14
of the same shows. I know. He's
1:00:16
appeared in over a hundred TV shows,
1:00:18
dozens of commercials, and voiceover
1:00:21
spots. Bob. Hook us up.
1:00:24
Yeah. We have so many voices. We
1:00:26
can do a lot. Hi now. Listen, Bob.
1:00:28
I got this guy too. I can do this
1:00:30
one. He works at a tire shop. Tim's
1:00:33
Tire Town. I always
1:00:35
say, if you're gonna get your
1:00:37
beauty done, get your beauty done right. That's
1:00:40
what she says. See? Look at that.
1:00:42
Bob. What can't we do? Bob.
1:00:45
Probably voiceover. Well,
1:00:49
should we head on over to Cece's
1:00:51
Recital? Because it is underway. Yes,
1:00:54
it is. And I have a few more things
1:00:56
to share about this day. Kelly
1:00:58
had made sure I had the day off.
1:01:00
So when we filmed these scenes, I could be
1:01:02
there just right off camera. You had to
1:01:04
be. I know. That morning,
1:01:06
the girls got to go through hair and
1:01:08
makeup. They were very excited. I have adorable
1:01:10
pictures of these tiny little ladybugs in those
1:01:12
big hair and makeup chairs. And they look
1:01:15
so tiny in them. Debbie and
1:01:17
Sherry and hair and makeup took such great
1:01:19
care of them. And Ismael
1:01:21
was already really familiar with the hair and makeup
1:01:23
trailer. So she was actually very excited that she
1:01:25
got to sit in the chair and not just
1:01:27
pop in and say hi to me. Well, what
1:01:30
I loved about our hair and makeup folks, Angela,
1:01:32
is that, you know,
1:01:34
these little girls didn't really need hair
1:01:36
and makeup. No. But they fussed over
1:01:38
them. Yes. They made it an event.
1:01:40
This day was like a whole event
1:01:42
for these little girls. So they would
1:01:44
like maybe put their hair in a
1:01:46
ponytail or pigtails or something, but they
1:01:48
would linger. Yeah. And they would brush
1:01:51
their faces even if there wasn't any
1:01:53
makeup on it. It was the cutest
1:01:55
thing. It was so cute. In fact,
1:01:58
one time Ismael was on set. I think I've
1:02:00
shared this. before and I think my forehead was
1:02:02
shiny. They said, Angela, you have a little
1:02:04
bit of shine and they powdered my forehead. So
1:02:07
Isabel walked into the hair and makeup and
1:02:09
she said to Sherri, can I get a
1:02:12
little shine? Yes, she thought that was what
1:02:14
you got. Yes. And they just
1:02:16
put their hair up in little ponytails and
1:02:18
then you know they got a tiny little
1:02:20
bit of chapstick and a little bit of
1:02:22
shine. So sweet. Well
1:02:25
the location of this recital was the
1:02:27
20th Century Women's Club in Eagle Rock.
1:02:30
And I asked C. Burgess what was
1:02:32
involved on the production end when you
1:02:34
have a bunch of little kids on set because I
1:02:36
know they can only work certain hours. They have to
1:02:38
have breaks. They have to have
1:02:40
tutors. They have to have a parent or
1:02:42
guardian. Steve said since these were just three
1:02:45
and four year olds, they didn't really have
1:02:47
to go to school but they did have
1:02:49
a school teacher there because
1:02:52
it's required by California law. But they didn't
1:02:54
really make them go to school and that
1:02:56
the shooting was very short. It
1:02:58
was very short and they did have a big
1:03:00
room for everyone with chairs and the girls like
1:03:03
I mean literally they had
1:03:05
coloring books and crayons and little games
1:03:07
and we all hung out together. And
1:03:09
when I re-watched the episode with my
1:03:11
daughter and we watched the dancing, she's
1:03:14
right in the middle at the very first
1:03:16
opening shot. It's her and Maya and they're
1:03:18
right in the middle next to Cece and
1:03:21
she's like, oh mom Maya
1:03:24
knew the dance perfectly and when we watched
1:03:26
we both got tickled because Isabel got distracted
1:03:28
by her shoes. She looks down at her
1:03:31
feet and she's
1:03:33
like what am I doing? I was like well you did
1:03:35
love shoes. I don't know. Maybe you were looking at your
1:03:38
shoes. And there was an extra
1:03:40
scene that they did with the little gals where
1:03:42
they all poke their heads around the big curtain
1:03:44
before they go on stage. That one
1:03:46
didn't make it in the episode but it is in
1:03:48
deleted scenes. Well while
1:03:50
this recital is going on, Pam
1:03:52
is in the audience and she's
1:03:54
filming but guess what? She
1:03:57
gets a phone call. Yes!
1:04:00
and she's so excited. It's the
1:04:02
city of Scranton! Yes, she got the
1:04:04
job painting the mural over Tracy Fleab.
1:04:06
She got the job. Well,
1:04:09
the other parents around her are not
1:04:11
pleased that she took the phone call.
1:04:13
They're shushing her. They're saying, you are
1:04:15
very rude. Very rude. Well, when
1:04:17
you watch this, you might think their reactions
1:04:20
kind of are harsh, right? There
1:04:22
were a few vignettes that led up to this
1:04:24
moment. First of all, Pam
1:04:26
tries to get a seat in the front
1:04:29
row. I remember this. It's in deleted scenes.
1:04:31
And she asks the man she ends up
1:04:33
sitting next to if he can move his
1:04:35
son. So they put his son
1:04:37
on his lap. He's kind of too big to
1:04:39
sit on your lap, son. Yeah, to make a
1:04:41
space for Pam. So that's the first thing she
1:04:43
did. And then she's trying to get a better
1:04:46
shot. And she's kind of like crawling on the
1:04:48
floor. Like she's kind of being annoying. I remember
1:04:50
all that. So by the time
1:04:52
she gets the phone call, people have had it
1:04:54
with her. Yes. Well, special guest
1:04:57
star alert. The angry shushing mom and
1:04:59
dad were played by people we know.
1:05:01
But I'll let Kelly Cantley tell you
1:05:03
all about it. Interesting
1:05:06
trivia about the ladybug recital. Brian
1:05:08
Whittle, our actual boom op for
1:05:10
multiple seasons of The Office, plays
1:05:13
the man sitting next to Pam.
1:05:16
And then Stephanie Lesh Farrell, Sean
1:05:18
Farrell's wife, one of our set decks,
1:05:20
plays the woman sitting next to Brian.
1:05:23
Also, Brian Whittle appears three times
1:05:26
in the credits of that episode.
1:05:29
Brian's playing the man at the recital. Brian
1:05:31
Whittle is also the actual boom
1:05:33
operator credited for the show. And
1:05:36
then Chris the amount of policy played
1:05:39
Brian Whittle, the boom operator character who
1:05:41
breaks the wall. So there's
1:05:43
trivia. Brian
1:05:45
Whittle, you're all over the place in this
1:05:47
episode. I know. I do
1:05:49
love that the character of the boom operator's
1:05:51
name is Brian Whittle. First
1:05:53
and last name. I know. Of the real
1:05:55
guy. I love one of the real boom
1:05:57
operators for the show. me
1:06:00
to a fan question from Lindsay A. in
1:06:02
Thousand Oaks, California, who said, my question is,
1:06:04
why is there all of a sudden a
1:06:07
boom operator? They've had lapel mics this whole
1:06:09
time and out of nowhere, there's a boom
1:06:11
operator who's been doing sound for Pam this
1:06:13
whole time. Well,
1:06:15
Lindsay, I think this was something
1:06:17
that like we knew as
1:06:20
actors are making a show, which is
1:06:22
that you wear a mic pack and
1:06:25
you have a boom operator. It's very
1:06:27
common to have both. They want to
1:06:30
have backup sound. And so
1:06:32
they grab sound in two different
1:06:34
ways on projects. Always, always,
1:06:36
always. Even when Josh and I do our
1:06:39
little baking videos at home, we have
1:06:41
a lav mic kit that we bought. So we
1:06:43
put the little mics on our shirts, but then
1:06:46
he has one boom mic. Basically,
1:06:48
he just puts on a tripod because we
1:06:50
don't have a person to hold it. So
1:06:52
we capture other sound. Yeah, you
1:06:54
get the atmosphere of the room on the
1:06:57
boom mic as well. Yeah. And a lot
1:06:59
of times, for the most part on our
1:07:01
show, it was the boom sound that you
1:07:03
heard the lav mics were backup. That's
1:07:06
a really good question. Good question. Well, Dwight
1:07:08
and Daryl bid farewell to Mr. Romanko. And
1:07:11
Dwight asked Daryl if he's ready to tell
1:07:13
Jim to go screw himself. But Daryl says
1:07:15
no, athlete is my future.
1:07:17
I want to have fun at work. This
1:07:20
gets Dwight's wheels going. Yep. Well,
1:07:23
back in the conference room, we are
1:07:25
still going over this Aaron Pete thing.
1:07:27
Phyllis is on Team Pete. Yeah. Do
1:07:30
you want to know the moment in the scene that
1:07:32
we kept breaking and couldn't get past? Was
1:07:35
it Kevin's line? You want
1:07:37
me to play it for you? Sure. Can
1:07:41
everyone please stop speaking for me? Andy
1:07:44
is my boyfriend. Pete and I are just friends.
1:07:46
And that's the end of it, right, Pete? That
1:07:48
is correct. Come on, guys. Where's
1:07:51
even coming from? Your feelings for
1:07:53
Aaron? Probably your heart and
1:07:56
a little bit your penis. It
1:08:02
is also how he says penis. He doesn't
1:08:04
say penis, he says penis. Yes. Also,
1:08:07
did you hear Jake's cold? He's
1:08:09
like, come on you guys. I didn't hear it. Come
1:08:11
on. I'm not hearing it.
1:08:13
Are you kidding? Play it again. I'm
1:08:15
gonna play it again. Alright. That
1:08:18
is correct. Come on guys. Where's Steven
1:08:20
coming from? Come on
1:08:22
guys. Where's Steven coming from? Where's Steven coming
1:08:24
from? I'm not hearing
1:08:26
it. Come on. Are you kidding?
1:08:29
That is correct. Come on guys. Where's
1:08:32
Steven coming from? Where's
1:08:34
Steven coming from? It doesn't sound
1:08:36
like that to me. It does.
1:08:39
He has a cold. I'm doing a poll.
1:08:41
End stories. Who thinks Jake had a cold?
1:08:43
Who doesn't? Okay. Who can
1:08:45
hear it? I can hear it. Okay. I
1:08:47
believe you. Goodbye you guys. I don't hear
1:08:49
it. Where's the cover from? I don't even
1:08:51
hear it. Okay. Okay. Lizard
1:08:54
doesn't hear it. Well
1:08:56
ultimately the conference room scene ends and Nellie
1:08:59
is happy because she feels like she has
1:09:01
squashed that relationship. Yes. Back
1:09:03
at Athlete, the team is still
1:09:05
scrambling to keep this investor. I
1:09:08
mean if you're an investor and you're not
1:09:11
interested anymore, how long do you sit around
1:09:13
waiting for them to get a call about
1:09:15
some information? I don't know.
1:09:17
Also, I mean
1:09:19
I do get why they're scrambling. Have
1:09:21
you looked at Athlete? That place looks
1:09:23
expensive. It does. I agree. Pam
1:09:27
is trying to call Jim to share this good news
1:09:29
about the mural, but it just goes to voicemail.
1:09:32
By the way, the investor was played
1:09:34
by Mitch Pulos. He's been
1:09:37
on 30 Rock, most recently on Curb
1:09:39
Your Enthusiasm and Chicago Fire, and he
1:09:41
has played Santa more than once. Oh,
1:09:43
yeah. Well in
1:09:46
the warehouse, Glenn has told Daryl to jump
1:09:48
in the delivery truck even though he doesn't do
1:09:50
them anymore. Well, guess what? There
1:09:53
is another reveal in this episode, not just Brian.
1:09:55
It is Dwight! He is inside
1:09:57
the truck because now him and Daryl are going to
1:09:59
have fun. lady, they're going to have
1:10:01
fun and they're going to make some deliveries.
1:10:04
They're delivering fun. This is the moment we
1:10:06
played at the beginning of the episode. That's
1:10:08
right. And Dwight kicks it off by throwing
1:10:10
a plastic basketball at Daryl's head. That's
1:10:13
fun. Now he's going to
1:10:15
pull into a fast food drive-through. Bet
1:10:18
they don't have this in Philly and
1:10:20
he throws a milkshake at the employee.
1:10:22
Yeah. Daryl is horrified. So
1:10:24
horrified he takes the keys out of the ignition.
1:10:26
He's going to make Dwight go in and clean
1:10:29
up the milkshake. Yeah. Dwight says
1:10:31
this doesn't feel like a prank anymore. And
1:10:33
while he's cleaning it all up, a couple of
1:10:35
guys drive through and you'll fire in the hole
1:10:38
and throw a strawberry milkshake at Dwight. And
1:10:40
he says, jokes on you. They make you
1:10:42
come back and clean it up. Is
1:10:45
this a thing? It's fire in the hole thing
1:10:47
and I think it was. Oh no. Isn't
1:10:49
that terrible? That's horrible. Well, I'll tell
1:10:52
you the location of this drive-through is
1:10:54
a very beloved fast food place. It
1:10:56
was just down the road from the
1:10:58
ballet studio in Eagle Rock. It's called
1:11:01
Pete's Blue Chip Burgers. It's
1:11:03
still there. It's been there for 50 years. We
1:11:05
closed it down while we were shooting. So all
1:11:08
the people you see inside were all background performers
1:11:10
that we hired to be there. The
1:11:12
first guy who gets hit with a milkshake is
1:11:15
Eli Vargas. He's very funny. He
1:11:17
had a recurring role on Summerland
1:11:20
and the guys in the car who
1:11:22
throw the second milkshake have an interesting
1:11:25
connection to Steve Burgess. He
1:11:27
shared that the teenager driving
1:11:29
the car was a friend of his son,
1:11:31
Matt, Alex McCaslin.
1:11:35
And he said his son Matt and Alex played
1:11:37
soccer together since they were little kids. And
1:11:40
when we were shooting this episode, Alex was
1:11:42
trying to break into stunt work. So
1:11:44
he was hired to drive. This
1:11:46
was considered a stunt driving moment.
1:11:48
Okay. And Steve
1:11:50
said since then he's had a great
1:11:52
career as a stunt performer. So Alex's
1:11:55
dream came true. Hey, isn't that
1:11:57
so fun? I love it. Well,
1:11:59
we had to ask for it. Kelly about shooting the scene and
1:12:01
here's what she had to say. Lots
1:12:03
and lots of fun for me was the
1:12:06
scene where we got to throw a milkshake
1:12:08
at rain. When Dwight gets a
1:12:10
milkshake in the face when he's trying to clean up,
1:12:13
that just made me laugh and then made me
1:12:15
laugh even harder when Daryl watches it three times
1:12:17
at the end. Did
1:12:19
you hear it, lady? Lots
1:12:22
and lots of fun for me was shooting
1:12:24
the scene where we throw a milkshake at
1:12:26
rain. I don't
1:12:28
know. Do you think this goes back
1:12:31
to their whole thing about like, oh
1:12:34
yeah, like having things off your screen. Yeah.
1:12:37
I feel like maybe Kelly enjoyed
1:12:40
that rain got a milkshake thrown at him. I
1:12:42
think she did too. If
1:12:45
you listened to Kelly's interview, her and rain
1:12:47
had a whole thing about his computer screen.
1:12:50
Yes. I would want to throw a milkshake at him. Well,
1:12:54
let's go back to the kitchen for a second
1:12:56
because we have a little bit of kitchen cringe
1:12:58
happening. Toby is going to
1:13:00
come in and give Nellie a big old hug
1:13:02
while she's making coffee. And
1:13:05
he says he's proud of how she handled the meeting.
1:13:08
But then he says, what do you have against Pete
1:13:10
and Erin though? Toby reminds
1:13:13
Nellie that Andy was terrible to
1:13:15
Erin. Well, he doesn't
1:13:17
say terrible. Fan
1:13:19
mail from Destiny S. in Northern Virginia
1:13:22
says, can we please
1:13:24
discuss Toby's comment of quote, Andy
1:13:26
was a terrible lover. You're right.
1:13:29
You're right. He said lover. Yes.
1:13:32
That was so cringy. Destiny said,
1:13:35
I highly dislike this word.
1:13:37
Ew. Ew. It
1:13:39
wasn't ew. You're so right. Yes. So
1:13:42
this is a double cringe in the kitchen because
1:13:44
I thought the hug and then when he says, you
1:13:47
know, not everyone has what you and I have and
1:13:49
Nellie's like, what? I thought that was cringe, but I
1:13:51
totally forgot that he said Andy was a terrible
1:13:53
lover. Oh my gosh. This
1:13:56
is going to cut to Nellie talking head where she says,
1:13:58
Oh my goodness. I just remember. I just remembered that I
1:14:01
kissed that man. There
1:14:03
were candy bag alts for this talking head.
1:14:05
Oh dear. Two of them I have
1:14:07
to share. Nellie would have said, I just
1:14:10
remembered I kissed that guy. Apparently
1:14:13
my brain refused to record a memory
1:14:15
of it. And who can blame it?
1:14:17
Poor dear. And
1:14:21
then here was the second one and this one really cracked me
1:14:23
up. My mouth has touched the
1:14:25
face of sadness. Sorry,
1:14:27
that made me laugh. It
1:14:30
was like in Harry Potter when those ghosts suck
1:14:32
your soul out of your face. That's
1:14:36
not hilarious. My mouth
1:14:38
has touched the face of sadness. That
1:14:41
is hilarious writing. Oh
1:14:44
my goodness. Ugh. Well
1:14:46
also back at the office, Pam
1:14:48
asks if anyone wants to see
1:14:50
the video from CC's recital. Angela's
1:14:53
like, ugh, I'm swamped and holds
1:14:55
up one piece of paper. Oscar's
1:14:59
like, let's get this over with. You
1:15:02
know, lady, this scene made me think of this
1:15:04
moment. Years ago I was
1:15:06
at an Emmy's party.
1:15:08
Okay. And Isabelle was a
1:15:10
baby and everything about her was just
1:15:12
the newest, funniest, most amazing thing and
1:15:14
it's all I could talk about. Oh,
1:15:18
I know what you're going to say. And
1:15:21
are you sure you don't want to save this for
1:15:23
office ladies burning to the ground? Okay,
1:15:25
I'll save it. Oh, I'll save it.
1:15:27
You have to tell it. No, no, I'll save it.
1:15:29
I'll save it. I'll save it. It's
1:15:31
some pretty good snark and you guys will all
1:15:33
know the people I'm talking about. People
1:15:36
yeah, people will say people
1:15:38
Oscar do people, people,
1:15:41
a famous couple,
1:15:43
Oscar'd me when I was talking about my
1:15:45
baby at an Emmy's party. Now
1:15:48
I think you have to tell. No, I'm not going to
1:15:51
tell it. Don't say their names. Just
1:15:53
say what happened. Listen
1:15:55
to this. Listen to this. Okay. We
1:15:58
were in line. for food or something,
1:16:00
like it was like a party and there was
1:16:03
food. And they were in front of
1:16:05
me, this couple, and they're famous. You
1:16:07
guys all know them. And she was
1:16:09
being very nice and asking me how things are.
1:16:11
And I started telling a story about
1:16:13
my baby because that's all I wanted to talk
1:16:16
about was my cute, adorable baby girl. And
1:16:19
her husband, who wasn't really making eye contact
1:16:21
with me, kind of like looking over me
1:16:23
for someone cooler to talk to, said
1:16:26
to me, you know what I
1:16:29
do when I can't fall asleep? And
1:16:31
I was like, no. And he goes, I
1:16:33
call my lawyer who's just had a baby. And
1:16:35
I'll say, tell me about your baby. You
1:16:38
guys believe, can you believe that? And
1:16:41
I was like, Oh, got it.
1:16:44
I'm Aria Stark, and you're now on my
1:16:46
list. I just
1:16:48
want to put it out there. Famous person,
1:16:50
you know who this person is.
1:16:52
Famous person. And you probably like
1:16:54
him. I'll say that. Well
1:16:56
liked. Like persona. By
1:16:59
some. I think there's
1:17:01
a debate about him. There's
1:17:04
some douchery there. But I will
1:17:06
say this what? This person.
1:17:08
Yeah. People are not actors on the show. On
1:17:11
our show. Yeah, they're not. Of course not. I
1:17:13
know. I just, I wouldn't want anyone to think
1:17:15
that we don't have that kind of douchery on
1:17:17
our show. No, we do not. But
1:17:20
yeah, can you imagine you're like in line to
1:17:22
get some french fries and someone says that to
1:17:24
you. I haven't even been
1:17:26
talking that long. It's not like I
1:17:28
was showing videos or anything. I wasn't
1:17:31
full Pam. Excuse me. I'm so
1:17:33
sorry. But you know, I
1:17:35
wanted to show a video of her dance
1:17:38
recital to someone since her husband wasn't there.
1:17:40
I told one story, but I will say
1:17:42
to call back Nora, this guy was being
1:17:44
a full ass. Yeah.
1:17:46
Full ass. My
1:17:48
question that I've never even asked you, how did
1:17:51
his wife respond? Was she taken
1:17:53
aback? She just kind of did that thing
1:17:55
where she was like, oh,
1:17:57
you know, they did not have children yet. They
1:17:59
do. now. But she kind of
1:18:01
just said that like, oh, like, oh,
1:18:04
they do now and they talk about them all
1:18:06
the time. Oh, well, maybe I'll have to go
1:18:09
full Oscar on them. Exactly. People
1:18:11
are going to be guessing, you know, people have been trying
1:18:13
to guess who the musician is the blowhard
1:18:15
that I ran into on the hike. No one
1:18:17
has guessed it. I just want to say they're
1:18:19
never going to get no, it's so out of
1:18:22
the very obscure, famous, famous
1:18:24
musician, but obscure. Can I give one hint to
1:18:26
that? What? Tall.
1:18:29
We said that. Oh, we did. Very tall.
1:18:33
Very tall. I'm not going
1:18:35
to give any hints on my couple. No.
1:18:38
Now they have children. That's all. Now they have
1:18:40
children. A couple with children. No one will ever
1:18:42
figure it out. We know. We
1:18:45
know. And we will reveal their
1:18:47
names on office ladies burn it to the ground.
1:18:53
By the way, this is a very good example
1:18:55
of a message from Angela that might begin. I
1:18:58
have some snark. I have some. And now you
1:19:00
see why we have to stop everything to listen
1:19:03
to these messages. I know we're
1:19:05
off topic, but if you want to stay off
1:19:07
topic for a second, do we think that Pam's
1:19:09
phone call was important enough to interrupt the recital?
1:19:11
Would you have taken the call, Angela? From
1:19:14
the city of Scranton, you're waiting to hear about
1:19:16
your mural. They would have told
1:19:18
me in my messages. I would have
1:19:20
let it go to voicemail. If I'm filming the
1:19:22
recital, the only thing I can think of is
1:19:24
if you're so thrown that you answer by accident.
1:19:27
She didn't. She answered on purpose. That's
1:19:29
true. I really thought about this because
1:19:32
my instinct was no, I wouldn't answer
1:19:34
the phone in the middle of a
1:19:36
recital unless it was some
1:19:38
indication of an emergency. Exactly.
1:19:41
But as an emerging
1:19:43
artist, we get very superstitious and I
1:19:45
could imagine having the anxiety that if
1:19:47
I don't answer this call, they'll give
1:19:50
it to someone else. Right. They'll think
1:19:52
I'm unreachable and they'll pass on me.
1:19:54
Right. Yeah. So I did understand that.
1:19:57
Yeah. I see that. Well,
1:19:59
Pam is trying. to, you know, defend the
1:20:01
fact that she took this phone call during the
1:20:03
recital, but she doesn't want to say why or
1:20:05
who it was. So we cut
1:20:07
to this talking head where she explains
1:20:09
she just wants Jim to be the
1:20:11
first one to know about the mural
1:20:14
because whenever something good happens to her,
1:20:16
he always says, Beasley! And she
1:20:18
wants to hear a Beasley. So
1:20:21
cute. It's very cute. So sweet. We're laying
1:20:23
it on thick, guys. Yeah. Well,
1:20:25
now things are just kind of awkward and miserable
1:20:27
between Pete and Aaron. He's on his way to
1:20:30
make copies. She notices. They're kind of curt to
1:20:32
one another. And they
1:20:34
both just look unhappy. And Nellie clocks it
1:20:36
all. Yeah. And now Nellie is
1:20:38
going to have a meeting with Pete and Aaron.
1:20:41
And she says, You know what? I'm going
1:20:43
to reassemble the task force. It's my decision. They
1:20:45
have no choice. Everybody knows it. She
1:20:47
apologizes to them. Aaron and
1:20:50
Pete are so happy. And
1:20:52
Toby approves. He approaches
1:20:55
her from behind. He rubs her
1:20:57
shoulders. He calls her lady. Oh,
1:20:59
lady. Fan catch
1:21:01
from Jessica N in Rochester, New
1:21:04
York said, Oh, no. When
1:21:06
Toby comes up creepily behind
1:21:09
Nellie, he uses your hour
1:21:11
word. Lady. Dislike. I'm
1:21:14
down. Yeah.
1:21:17
And then he kind of leans in and
1:21:19
says, You never stop surprising me. Yeah. Oh,
1:21:22
cringe. Well, here we are, everyone. Oh,
1:21:25
big reveal. Yeah. It's
1:21:30
time. It's time. Everyone's
1:21:33
leaving for the day and Pam gets
1:21:35
a phone call. It's Jim. He
1:21:38
has bad news. They lost Bridgeport
1:21:40
capital. I do have a
1:21:42
call sheet tidbit here. This scene
1:21:44
was the last scene filmed on
1:21:46
the last day on Friday. Yes.
1:21:49
Well, Angela, there was a reason for that. We
1:21:51
wanted to clear the set and we wanted to
1:21:53
have plenty of time to get this scene
1:21:56
Because it was complicated. Here's what's going
1:21:58
to happen. Like I Said, Okay
1:22:00
last if the client he says he's gonna
1:22:02
have to work and same way hard for
1:22:05
the next few weeks pam health or sort
1:22:07
of passive aggressive comment where she says really
1:22:09
i feel like you've already been working insanely
1:22:11
hard. Gym. Says you know what would
1:22:13
make me feel better if I could see that
1:22:16
video? Ccs were sold All. Pam.
1:22:18
Tries to be light hearted about it.
1:22:21
And. Is like guess why It turns out
1:22:23
I'm not great with technology. I didn't get
1:22:25
it. Gym is really upset
1:22:27
by this. He's like are you kidding? I
1:22:29
mean come on. And pants like
1:22:32
you want to ease up a little bit.
1:22:34
and then gyms like the recital is done.
1:22:36
I miss that moment and she's like I'm
1:22:38
sure another family so did a lot of
1:22:40
people. The recording this is like oh great.
1:22:42
So now I can watch recordings that like
1:22:44
focuses on their kid and we don't even
1:22:47
get to see our kid. Now.
1:22:49
They're in it. Because. Them says maybe you should
1:22:51
have been there yet if it was so important, maybe
1:22:53
you should have been there. And he now
1:22:55
is ticked off because he says listen, you
1:22:57
agreed to me spending these days and silly
1:22:59
and Pam says she's trying to do her
1:23:02
best to make things perfect so he can
1:23:04
do that he wants to do And basically
1:23:06
he's like oh, this is what I want
1:23:08
to do anything and is doing it for
1:23:10
myself. Because. It's so than This is
1:23:13
a very sad night and now Gem has been called back
1:23:15
to work In is like you know what I got ago
1:23:17
or talk to you tomorrow. Yeah. She's
1:23:19
like fine, Talk to you tomorrow. Pm.
1:23:21
Starts to break down, And.
1:23:24
This is how it was written in the shooting draft.
1:23:26
Cam. Hangs up upset. She. Looks
1:23:28
around and realizes she is the only one
1:23:30
left at work. Systems.
1:23:32
And then unexpectedly starts to cry.
1:23:35
We. Watch her cry for a little. Then.
1:23:38
She turns tear same face to the side
1:23:40
of the room and says. Brian.
1:23:42
What Am I doing wrong? What Did I do?
1:23:45
There's. A beat. Pam looks like she
1:23:47
really needs and answer. Brian.
1:23:50
Little response, Nothing you doing the best
1:23:52
you can. The camera frame clippers. a
1:23:54
moment of indecision and then the operator
1:23:56
pulls winds to see that pam as
1:23:58
talking to the book. Operator Brian.
1:24:01
He. Looks sympathetic. San.
1:24:05
Question from Chloe Be and Australia During
1:24:07
the phone call between Pam and Jim,
1:24:09
Pam is super upset. I was wondering
1:24:11
if Gem really was on the other
1:24:14
end of the phone during the scene.
1:24:16
Just. Chloe are sound engineer. Ban hooked
1:24:19
it up so that we can actually
1:24:21
talk to each other in the two
1:24:23
offices. I was on the main stage
1:24:25
and the athletes set was over in
1:24:27
our warehouse building. That. Setting
1:24:29
this up with a huge ordeal, but it
1:24:31
was also super important. But. I'll let
1:24:33
Kelly, Kelly, our director tell you a little more
1:24:35
about it. The
1:24:38
phone call with so stressful lose so
1:24:40
much going on so normally and television
1:24:42
or we should a phone call. We
1:24:44
shoot each actor individually so you would
1:24:47
shoot one on Tuesday and one on
1:24:49
Friday and if you're lucky the person
1:24:51
off camera is actually off camera to
1:24:54
give you your to put on the
1:24:56
authors we do as much live as
1:24:58
we could so anytime we had a
1:25:01
face time that we would have a
1:25:03
little sat. Around a quarter
1:25:05
the stage and we'd have an
1:25:07
actual live face time. We tried
1:25:10
to do with phone calls as
1:25:12
much as we could and in
1:25:14
this case because the argument with
1:25:16
such an important story points and
1:25:18
arguments are sort of better when
1:25:20
two people are arguing we worked
1:25:22
out a way to shoot John
1:25:24
playing gym on the other Sage
1:25:27
in the Athletes Sad and then
1:25:29
Pam Zana was on our regular
1:25:31
set and it with there were
1:25:33
some segment goal of. Hoops to
1:25:35
jump through to make it happen.
1:25:37
I was on set with Janna
1:25:39
and seventy kids. One of assistant
1:25:41
directors was onset web john. I
1:25:43
could see Joe under the monitor
1:25:46
and listen to the dialogue on
1:25:48
the contacts and then in between
1:25:50
takes. I could talk some on
1:25:52
the phone Zola unless you remember
1:25:54
this but also on Sat with
1:25:56
us it was you The crew.
1:25:59
me And every producer
1:26:01
or executive who'd ever been
1:26:03
involved in the office was
1:26:05
there. Angela,
1:26:08
it was not just every producer.
1:26:10
It was like every writer. Like,
1:26:13
there were so many people. Greg
1:26:15
was there. So many
1:26:18
people invested in us getting this moment
1:26:20
right. It was a lot
1:26:22
of pressure. John was insulated from it a
1:26:24
little bit. You were surrounded by it. I
1:26:26
was surrounded by it. Yes, because our video
1:26:29
village was on the main stage. Yes. We
1:26:31
got a fan question from Courtney B. in
1:26:33
Perth, Western Australia, who said, I would love to
1:26:36
know how you got into character for such
1:26:38
an emotional scene. Well, Courtney,
1:26:40
this scene really hinged on me
1:26:42
being able to break down crying.
1:26:44
And I'll tell you that in many
1:26:47
ways, the writing and the words and
1:26:49
the planning of these emotional beats were
1:26:51
enough to get me nearly there. Just
1:26:54
playing the truth of the scene to be
1:26:57
Pam and having this disconnect from
1:26:59
Jim, her crew love, that
1:27:02
is like devastating. And
1:27:05
so that got me nearly there. But
1:27:08
they really needed me to have
1:27:10
tears streaming down my face. It's
1:27:12
hard to do. Yeah. So
1:27:14
what we did was we
1:27:17
did a take where John,
1:27:19
as Jim, in character, laid
1:27:22
into me really hard.
1:27:25
It was dialogue that we agreed we
1:27:27
would never use. And
1:27:29
they didn't even run the camera on his
1:27:32
side. But through the phone, I
1:27:35
just said, you need to get really
1:27:37
upset with Pam. And
1:27:39
I'll react as Pam.
1:27:41
Yeah. And John was a little nervous
1:27:43
about it because he said, this is going to be
1:27:46
out of character for Jim, so we can't use it.
1:27:49
But I will do this for you, Jenna. And
1:27:52
I was like, I really appreciate it. So we turned
1:27:55
the camera off on his side. And
1:27:57
it was just him on the phone. So there was.
1:28:00
take that you see in the episode that
1:28:03
was he like really
1:28:05
laid into Pam and I just
1:28:07
it was waterworks and you just reacted yeah
1:28:10
as Pam so I got there with with
1:28:12
his help yeah I mean
1:28:15
sometimes you know in scenes as
1:28:17
your scene partner you do that for
1:28:19
each other mm-hmm and even sometimes they'll
1:28:21
be a director that will give you a note
1:28:23
that just breaks your heart open yeah you know
1:28:26
that's right and you kind of need it in
1:28:28
the moment and then I think
1:28:30
you know a lot of times you get yourself
1:28:32
there but then if you need to dial it
1:28:34
up or dial it down it's really nice to
1:28:36
have a scene partner that can help you dial
1:28:38
it up emotionally well that
1:28:40
was the thing we had gotten a number
1:28:42
of takes but we were gonna go
1:28:44
one more time and I said okay
1:28:47
for this final one yeah let her
1:28:49
really sob yeah I need help yeah
1:28:52
and speaking of that the
1:28:54
first part of this was just getting the
1:28:56
fight right and then the second part was
1:28:59
getting this big reveal right mm-hmm yeah
1:29:01
Kelly shared with us about how much
1:29:04
planning and discussion went into shooting all
1:29:06
of this and also about
1:29:08
the different shots that she needed to get
1:29:10
so not only did she need to make
1:29:12
sure all this emotion was happening but technically
1:29:14
she had to make sure she covered it
1:29:16
right here's what she had to say man
1:29:19
I come up with a plan for how to
1:29:21
block it so that it would be kind of
1:29:24
easy to get the camera to Chris who played
1:29:26
Brian the boom up when he breaks the fourth
1:29:28
wall and then when we
1:29:30
rehearsed it Greg had pictured it
1:29:33
very differently so we
1:29:35
put everybody in those positions we rehearsed again and
1:29:37
we started to shoot and there were lots of
1:29:39
opinions on how to shoot it and we
1:29:41
started shooting it like
1:29:44
he was a character and we
1:29:46
did five or six takes
1:29:49
and Greg said okay I think I have what I need and
1:29:51
I said well I think I'd like to go one more time
1:29:53
and he's like okay great get what you need Jenna
1:29:56
I came in to talk to you and you looked
1:29:58
up and seriously crying cuz we just got And you
1:30:00
said, I have one more take of me
1:30:02
and then I'm done. I was like, Oh my God,
1:30:04
I felt really bad for asking you to do it
1:30:06
again. But we really
1:30:08
needed one more because the argument was great
1:30:10
and it ramped up to the point where
1:30:13
it was super believable. The way two people
1:30:15
who love each other can just like go
1:30:18
at each other. The fight was great. Your
1:30:21
reaction was great. It was heartbreaking.
1:30:25
The only thing that really bugged me is
1:30:27
that we were shooting Chris like
1:30:29
a character and I thought
1:30:31
that we needed to shoot it like it
1:30:33
was found footage, like the
1:30:36
doc, you know, they didn't know they were going to
1:30:38
show this as part of the doc when it happened.
1:30:41
So I had had
1:30:43
an idea because whenever something
1:30:45
like disturbing happened or somebody
1:30:48
made a noise or wrecked to take, or
1:30:50
if a camera person had to give a
1:30:53
note, they would like shift the camera sort
1:30:55
of at a cocked angle on their shoulder to make
1:30:57
it more comfortable, give the note
1:30:59
or tell the person whatever, and then put the
1:31:01
camera back up and be ready to go. So
1:31:04
I ran in, apologize to you for
1:31:06
going again and said to Matt Stone,
1:31:08
Matt, this time,
1:31:11
as soon as Chris
1:31:13
talks, cocked his camera onto your
1:31:15
shoulder, like you're going to yell at me for
1:31:17
something and turn to him and say his name
1:31:19
or something like, Hey, cut it out. So
1:31:22
that it's found. And then once he's in there, you
1:31:25
can just cover it because that's what you would do. So
1:31:27
we all agree what we're doing and we go
1:31:29
again. And I realize once
1:31:32
I say action and the scene is going and it's
1:31:34
really good. And then I think, Oh my gosh, I
1:31:36
forgot to give him a note about the end. So
1:31:39
I did the worst thing that you can ever do as
1:31:41
a director or an assistant director. I grabbed
1:31:43
my ADs radio, Rusty
1:31:46
Mamoud, and I turned to
1:31:48
the camera channel. And on the very
1:31:50
last line where Chris, his boy's Brian
1:31:52
says, that's enough. I
1:31:54
say, Matt, tell it to the floor. So
1:31:57
that we're on the floor and you can hear the last
1:31:59
line. you're just out. So
1:32:01
that was very stressful, but I thought the
1:32:04
scene came out really good. And I thought,
1:32:06
Janet, you and John did such a good
1:32:08
job with the acting of it. And Chris
1:32:10
was great as a boom up. So
1:32:14
that was a really long clip, but I
1:32:16
think so fascinating to see how she set
1:32:19
that up. But there were a
1:32:21
couple things that she said that stood out to me.
1:32:24
For example, you know, at the end of
1:32:26
every take, I'm crying, but now I have
1:32:28
to uncry and go back to the beginning.
1:32:31
And that's the exhausting part, is like
1:32:33
taking that journey over and over and
1:32:35
over again. So she was so sweet
1:32:37
to be kind of looking out for
1:32:39
me. But then also
1:32:42
her brilliant idea to
1:32:44
have the camera come off the
1:32:47
shoulder. Yeah, which is what our camera operators
1:32:49
did all the time on set. Yeah, the
1:32:51
minute we stopped filming, they would take it
1:32:53
off their shoulder. Or if
1:32:55
something happened. Yes.
1:32:58
So, so smart. So the
1:33:00
boom operator was played by Chris
1:33:03
Diamantopoulos. At some point, I'm going
1:33:05
to share all about him and his casting session
1:33:07
for this role, but I wanted
1:33:09
to wait until after the reveal. Okay,
1:33:12
so Brian, the boom guy is going to
1:33:14
be with us for a little while. I'll tell you all
1:33:16
about Chris and how he stole this role. You
1:33:19
know, obviously, I don't ever want to see you cry. But
1:33:22
in watching this and rewatching it, at
1:33:24
least you look cute when you cry.
1:33:26
Don't don't take me wrong. When I
1:33:28
cry and I really like cry, I
1:33:30
it is the ugly cry. Like it
1:33:32
is a hot mess. And
1:33:35
you still look cute. Well,
1:33:38
thank you. I mean, this wasn't an
1:33:40
ugly cry. I can do an ugly
1:33:42
cry for you. But this was this
1:33:44
was like, oh, this was
1:33:47
just, I don't
1:33:49
know what heartbroken, desperate at
1:33:52
the end of my rope
1:33:54
and sad. Yeah, deeply, deeply
1:33:56
sad. Yeah. Well, this episode is
1:33:58
going to end on an up. We've
1:34:00
got a tag, Dwight's
1:34:02
Day of Fun. Maybe, I
1:34:05
don't know, it did work out because
1:34:07
Daryl's having a good time watching an
1:34:09
online video of Dwight being hit with
1:34:11
a milkshake. Yeah, it's already uploaded, it's
1:34:13
posted to the internet, and he
1:34:15
hits it on repeat, and he laughs. Yeah,
1:34:18
he says maybe I am going to miss the paper business.
1:34:20
Well, I bet no one's going to take him
1:34:23
on a ride adventure for fun over at
1:34:25
Athlete. Not quite serious. Not quite this one.
1:34:28
Yeah. Well, listen, before we
1:34:30
go, we just wanted to give you Kelly's
1:34:32
final thoughts on directing this episode. She has
1:34:34
some really nice things to say. The
1:34:38
other thing I should share is that
1:34:40
the cast and crew were amazing to
1:34:42
me when I directed. I had
1:34:44
directed the mentor webisodes,
1:34:46
and this was my first
1:34:48
episode, and everybody was wonderful.
1:34:51
The cast was great. Jenny,
1:34:54
you were awesome. Angela, you were great. Kelly
1:34:57
was really nice to me. The
1:34:59
crew went over and above to help
1:35:01
me do a great job. Matt
1:35:04
Zone, our DP operator, and
1:35:06
Sarah Levy, our other camera
1:35:08
operator, amazing. They had
1:35:10
great ideas, and they're amazing operators.
1:35:14
And Rusty Mamoud, my AD, did a great
1:35:16
job for me. He was super supportive.
1:35:19
So it was a really good experience for me.
1:35:22
Oh, I'm so glad that Kelly mentioned Sarah. Sarah
1:35:25
Levy, one of our real camera
1:35:27
operators, is who is operating the
1:35:29
camera in the reveal moment as
1:35:31
well. She's standing right next to
1:35:34
Brian, the boom, quote unquote, operator.
1:35:37
And that's how it works, by the way. Each camera
1:35:39
gets a boom operator. They're like a little pair. They
1:35:42
go around together. Well,
1:35:44
that was customer loyalty. Thank
1:35:47
you so much, Steve Burgess, for all of
1:35:49
your behind the scenes information. And
1:35:52
thank you, Kelly Cantley, for those awesome audio
1:35:54
clips. We loved hearing about your time directing
1:35:56
this episode. And thank you to
1:35:58
my daughter Isabelle for sharing with us. about being
1:36:00
a ladybug in this episode. She loves
1:36:02
Office Ladies. She was so tickled when
1:36:04
I asked her to be on the
1:36:06
podcast. She was like, seriously, mom, I
1:36:08
get to be on the podcast. She had
1:36:11
to be on the podcast. She's a guest
1:36:13
star. And I do have to tell you
1:36:15
one thing. She was like, mom,
1:36:17
can I hear what I sound like? And when
1:36:19
I played it back for her, she goes, Oh
1:36:21
my gosh, that's what I felt like. That's what
1:36:23
everybody says when they hear their voice. I know.
1:36:25
But thank you, Isabelle. I loved rewatching this episode
1:36:27
with you. Isabelle, thank you
1:36:29
to all of you for writing in. We hope we
1:36:32
helped you get some things off your chest today. There
1:36:34
was a lot of mail. There really was. There's
1:36:37
going to be more. Oh,
1:36:40
and before we go, we want to
1:36:42
give a big shout out to our pal,
1:36:44
Rainn Wilson. He has his new podcast.
1:36:47
Yes, it's called Soul Boom, the podcast.
1:36:49
You remember we had Rainn on to
1:36:51
talk about his book, Soul Boom, why
1:36:53
we need a spiritual revolution. Well, this
1:36:55
podcast is going to cover similar themes.
1:36:58
Yes. And I'm a guest on his
1:37:00
show. I was a
1:37:02
little nervous, but it was wonderful to
1:37:04
sit down with Rainn. We talked about
1:37:06
some real big life moments that shaped
1:37:08
our lives. I laughed a lot. I
1:37:10
cried. He's such a thoughtful person. And
1:37:12
I'm really looking forward to his new
1:37:14
podcast. I think it's just going to
1:37:16
be great. You guys, he does film his
1:37:18
podcast just so you know. And I
1:37:21
showed up with barely any makeup on because I don't wear
1:37:23
a lot of makeup out and about, you know, I think
1:37:26
also if memory serves, you didn't know
1:37:28
that he filmed his podcast on the
1:37:30
way. Pretty much the day of Rainn
1:37:32
was like, Oh, Ang, we're going to
1:37:34
film it. And I was like, Oh,
1:37:36
and you know, I am not judged.
1:37:38
It is just real life. Two
1:37:40
folks talking. Anyone who decides to
1:37:42
watch the podcast rather than listen
1:37:44
to it, no need to be
1:37:46
snarky. I look how I look.
1:37:48
I'm 53. And I'm real
1:37:50
happy in my own skin. And I'm so
1:37:53
thankful to be turning 53 this year. And
1:37:55
what a blessing it
1:37:58
is to grow old. So I hope You enjoy
1:38:00
it. It's a great podcast. Enjoy
1:38:02
looking at my old wrinkling. I.
1:38:05
See. Saturday that here and. Ah
1:38:08
Angela I am gonna to our
1:38:10
horns. oh to them because I
1:38:12
just turned fifty and I declare
1:38:14
that the decade of to your
1:38:16
own horn and given zero ass
1:38:18
Yes! So here I go. I
1:38:21
admired. Deeply, how.
1:38:24
You. And I have embraced our
1:38:26
age. Think. A lady I
1:38:28
think so too we have embraced are
1:38:30
changing. bodies are changing, faces, are changing
1:38:33
hormones. All of it. And that doesn't
1:38:35
mean we don't complain about it. It
1:38:37
doesn't mean that we don't like certain
1:38:40
angle hat's true. Doesn't mean that we
1:38:42
don't throw a filter on it. And
1:38:45
let me tell you, there's some on
1:38:47
flattering angles when you do a podcast.
1:38:49
sit, sit on pseudo enjoy those. but
1:38:51
it's a wonderful podcast. I'm really happy
1:38:54
for Rain Next time Rain let me
1:38:56
know in advance that it's films. maybe
1:38:58
I'll pay for Aaron. Make up everyone
1:39:01
please go check out Sold them the
1:39:03
podcast with Rainn Wilson. It's out now
1:39:05
wherever you get your podcast and of
1:39:08
course and all but a slap us
1:39:10
in our story. Absolutely I have a
1:39:12
good when. Take care of Okay and I
1:39:14
say. Thank
1:39:17
you for. The Things advocating. For
1:39:22
so long as looking thing or a
1:39:24
senior producer it's tacky joke them or
1:39:26
audio engineer is Jordan A T and
1:39:28
R E a producer in the bottle
