Otters are not only cute but also vicious. This episode explored so many aspects of otters. Sea otters are a lot bigger than North American river otters. 10% of sea otters are off the central coast of California and the rest are off of Alaska. Otters do not have fat to keep them warm. Instead, they have the greatest number of hairs per square centimeter than any other mammal. Whenever a female sea otter is either not pregnant or tending a pup, a male will forcibly have sex with her. A female typically dies from exhaustion after a 12–15-year series of continuously being pregnant and then tending the pups. When fighting each other, male otters go after each other's penis bones to break them. As you can see, plenty of things one learns in this podcast.
