With Maria Lopez to Mario
0:03
Lopez joining out on Zoom from
0:05
selling Sunset on Netflix. Heather
0:08
ray Young, welcome to the show. How there, How are you? Thank
0:10
you? I'm good? Are you? I'm well. So
0:13
yesterday I was talking to um
0:15
uh, Paulina IGBAKUI
0:17
the president of NBC Studios,
0:19
and Tracy Wickfield and the people all
0:21
ahead of Peacock. The reason I'm telling you this is
0:24
because they were on a very heated discussion. I go or I go,
0:26
damn, what's going on? They were talking about selling
0:28
Sunset and the thing I go, oh my
0:30
god, there's like a whole power meeting.
0:33
So you got big fans just you know, over on arguing
0:36
about what was a big discussion, um
0:39
about whether they like Chris Shell or not.
0:42
And then they felt bad for her because she got
0:44
she got dumped. There something
0:47
something I don't want to talk out of pocket, but it was something along
0:49
those lines her act
0:52
pile for divorce or text message. Oh
0:54
that's cold as ice. That as cold as
0:56
ice. I mean, I don't even know the particulars, but that doesn't
0:58
seem very nice. And I wrong or was
1:01
it? It was wrong? For sure, they would
1:03
together like six years, seven years and
1:05
yeah, yeah, yeah, I know that you can't do them dirty
1:07
like that. That's I'm getting invested now, look at
1:09
this myself in the middle of this anyway.
1:12
Anyway, um, where are you? Where you speaking
1:14
to me from right now at the moment, I'm in Anaheim
1:17
at my fiancee's office, who's real estate
1:19
office. So I come here to do my podcast
1:21
and do my interviews because then there it's just way
1:23
about it being at home with the kids. Well,
1:25
congratulations on the
1:27
upcoming marriage. And so
1:29
you really are a real estate agent. This isn't like we
1:33
aren't casting reality
1:35
or part of me realtors here. This is your real
1:37
real real estate agents. Yeah, we are. I've
1:40
been a real estate agent for almost six years. Actually
1:42
just closed on a house yesterday. Uh.
1:44
I just put on another three point one million dollar
1:46
listening down in Newport, So I'm done
1:49
in Newport Beach now full time. But I go up to l A
1:51
from work, so I'm back and forth a lot, and I do a
1:53
lot of FaceTime calls now so when my
1:55
clients so far, and also because
1:57
of the virus, so I've been kind of like switching
1:59
things out how I do real estate. But I am a real real
2:01
estate agent. Yes, good for you. And fiance
2:04
too, right, a real fiance yes,
2:07
no, no, not
2:09
real fan in the business. He's in the business, yes,
2:11
so that's good. Yeah, my
2:13
my fiance is on h G t V Flipper Flop
2:16
and Flipping one oh one, so really exciting.
2:18
We're in the same business and we didn't meet that
2:20
actually met like totally separate. We're
2:23
in the same business, so it works out that that did
2:25
work out. Well. Let me let me take this opportunity out
2:27
something on a personal level here. Um, since
2:29
you're in the real estate business, has this pandemic? Um,
2:33
how has it affected the prices? And are are the interest
2:35
rates really down? Is a good time to buy a good time to sell?
2:37
What's the deal? Yeah, the interest rates
2:39
are siper low, so it's a good time to buy.
2:41
But there's not a lot of inventory, especially here
2:43
in California. Like I'm looking for clients,
2:46
um, and we're getting out bid. So like
2:48
we'll go in and we'll put an offer and it's like eight
2:50
offers, multiple like over asking.
2:52
So it's just it's not a lot of inventory right
2:54
now. So hopefully that will get a little bit
2:56
better. But prices are great. Right now, it's
2:59
a good time to buy if you want to pay full
3:01
price for something, if you want to get a deal, I would
3:03
suggest waiting. Okay, good, good advice
3:06
all much. How hard
3:08
it's hard to say. Honestly. I think there's gonna be a
3:10
shift, probably within the next like six months.
3:12
I think when everything gets caught up from what we've been dealing
3:15
with for the last six months. But you know,
3:17
I don't think people are realizing what's going to happen.
3:19
I mean, I can't predict everything, but I think there
3:21
is going to be a shift. Okay, good to
3:23
hear, Good to hear. Well, congrats
3:25
on season three of Selling Sunset.
3:27
I know just recently debuted What what's
3:29
going on with you as we enter this season?
3:32
Yeah, so it was, you know season one
3:35
in season two, like we didn't really well season one,
3:37
Like when we started filming, like none of us
3:39
have done this before, we didn't know if it was going to be a hit
3:41
or not a hit. It was on Netflix, it's a reality
3:43
show, going to do well. Ended up doing good. So
3:45
we got a season two, We gotta season three, Season
3:48
three just like blew up and it's
3:50
really incredible. We're hoping to get
3:52
a season four. It's looking really good. Um,
3:54
we're kind of, you know, hopefully
3:57
in discussions very soon, but I can't
3:59
say anything more than that. We just haven't officially
4:02
heard yet. But it's looking good. And for those who aren't
4:04
familiar, would you describe it as like a vander
4:06
Pump Rules but in the real estate world,
4:09
you know, we're all in the same office, so
4:11
like we have a really big family dynamic,
4:13
and you know, we have a lot of egos, Like being in this
4:15
business, we we have a lot of we have strong
4:18
egos and strong personalities. So it's like
4:20
a family vibe mixed with real estate and
4:22
I think less drama than vanderpunk Roules. Some
4:24
might disagree with that, but it
4:26
didn't start with a lot of jama But you know, you put
4:29
a bunch of girls together and we just like
4:31
we fight. I don't know, I don't know where it comes
4:33
from. Did you know any of them prior?
4:36
Yeah, we all started working together. So I've been at the Oppenheim
4:39
Groups since two thousand fifteen, and most of the
4:41
girls were there at the same time. Only
4:43
Krushal was brought on and but she was working at
4:45
a different office, so we are all in the same
4:47
office together, and I've known them for yes, six
4:49
years, some of them they've known each other for twenty years.
4:52
Oh wow, okay, that's
4:54
what's been coming up. People are like, oh, they're not real
4:56
agents. They were you know, casted, or
4:58
like, no, we were. We weren't. Like they
5:01
came to us and wanted to pitch a show,
5:03
and um, we actually turned down a bunch
5:05
of other offers for shows because we didn't
5:07
want it to to interfere with our real jobs.
5:10
And then when Adam de Vello came and
5:12
presented the the premise of the
5:14
show, you know Jason and Brett
5:16
my boss is, the owners of the Oppenham Group, they were
5:18
like, you know, this could be good for women empowerment, showing
5:21
the women in business. And so we ended up shooting
5:23
the pilot and it got picked up and it worked out well.
5:25
I mean, I think people think that because it does look
5:27
like you cast that all these pretty girls is really
5:29
real estate agents. But apparently you're you're legit,
5:31
so legit
5:35
like pretty girls in the office. I guess, yeah,
5:38
I get it. I read that you said
5:41
being a future step mom is the hardest job you've
5:43
ever heard you've ever had, is
5:45
what's the most difficult. You
5:48
know, I give all the moms props, like this
5:50
is something that I didn't. It
5:52
just I fell in love with Tarts so fast,
5:54
and you know, he had two kids. It never even crossed
5:56
my mind that I was becoming a step
5:59
mom. It was just I was so in love with him,
6:01
so I accepted everything that came along with
6:03
that. And I'm really hands
6:05
on with the kids. I wasn't as hand hands on
6:07
for the first maybe like five or six months, because I
6:09
was filming and I was so busy, and um,
6:12
you know, we had help, and like I just chose,
6:14
like I wanted to be hands on with them, like they're going to
6:16
be my step kids, like I adore them, I love them,
6:18
and so I'm really hands on with them
6:20
and juggling real estate and juggling interviews
6:23
and everything else I have going on. And it
6:26
is hard. I'm not used to this. I'm still
6:28
getting used to it, and I'm exhausted every
6:30
single day. And how many how
6:32
many two kids?
6:35
His son just turned five, his daughter's turning
6:37
ten in two weeks.
6:39
Good luck, it's
6:44
already, like you know, Diva, they're
6:46
both like super smart, like strong personality
6:49
and they test me for sure, but they
6:51
also respect me and they love me. So we have a really
6:53
great relationship. But it's hard. It's the hardest
6:55
thing I've ever done in my life. Are do you plan to have
6:57
kids of your own right
6:59
now? Oh no, I don't
7:01
think if I think. If I do, it
7:04
would be a couple of years. But Tark and I are both
7:06
on the same page and we're happy, We're fulfilled.
7:08
I think adding on another baby would just I'd
7:11
be too stressed. I wouldn't be able to focus on my relationship.
7:13
And like, Tark is so important to me that I want to make
7:16
sure that he's number one and everything
7:18
else I can focus on aside from
7:20
that. But he's number one to me. Wow, lucky
7:22
guy. Yeah. Chris
7:25
Shell has joined the new season and Dancing with the Stars. Have
7:27
you seen her dance? She
7:31
is. I didn't even know that. That's news to me. Really
7:33
didn't know that. Yeah, she is. She's
7:35
gonna be holding it up. You
7:39
know. I danced with her at Mary's wedding. Um
7:41
it was in season two. Her
7:43
and I you know, had some champagne. We're out on
7:45
the dance floor, So I think I think she has a good chance.
7:48
Okay, alright, I'm
7:50
gonna go watch her. That's exciting. Yeah, you can
7:52
go and be in the audience. They're very cool. Maybe
7:54
I'll be next here you go. All right, Heather.
7:57
Before I let you go, I want to put you on the spot. Quick questions,
7:59
quick answers. It's
8:01
your favorite show? You've beene during quarantine? Oh?
8:05
Um? The Office?
8:08
Okay? Did you do the whole see? Did you do the whole show?
8:10
All of it? Loved it? Did
8:13
you cry in the finale? I did not
8:15
cry in the finale. I was just like, I want more now
8:18
that everyone saw a Fraser. You're no fan,
8:20
You're no fan. I'm watching Parks
8:23
and Rack now to like, I feel like Parks and I
8:26
think before the Office and so
8:28
I kind of flipped him, but I'm loving Parks and Rack.
8:31
I cried at the premiere of that. Okay, what
8:34
he's a little sensitive. I
8:36
see that. Go to karaoke
8:39
song, pretty spears
8:42
hit me baby all more time? There
8:44
you go. Do you do it with the choreography? Oh
8:46
yeah, heck yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Celebrity
8:49
crush going up park
8:51
on LUSA. No, Um, let's see probably Leonardo
8:54
DiCaprio, because I love Titanic. Okay,
8:57
what would your dream listing be? Gosh,
9:00
I would love to get a thirty million
9:03
dollar a third sorry, thirty
9:05
million. Yeah, probably
9:07
thirty million and up. That would be my dream. I had not gotten
9:09
there yet. My highest has been almost
9:11
ten millions, so I need to get a big
9:13
one. That sounds pretty big to me,
9:16
but we'll go bigger.
9:18
I'm not the top in the office, so I want to get there.
9:21
Got it? Got it? Eight? Well, I hope to be your client in
9:23
that
9:25
I hope to get there.
9:28
So when you
9:31
got it, Heather A young you got it? Uh?
9:33
Well, nice to meet you. Into chat
9:36
and congratulations on everything and listen
9:38
watch Selling Sunset on Netflix.
9:40
Heather, thanks for checking in. Thanks Sorry, I
9:43

9:46
a little bit
