Update: Slate has decided not to continue to produce this podcast, which is so disappointing. This was the kind of American history that I find the most interesting, and I will miss it.This podcast is built on a clever idea, which is to look at all the major events that happen simultaneously in one year. Fortunately, the individual episodes live up to expectation.Note: This review is for One Year, not The Queen, which also appeared in this feed (and which I also loved).

I love the idea of this series: Different stories, all rooted in the year 1977. From the death of Elvis to the first female play by play announcer in baseball, this series delves in some surprising areas. Each episode so far has been a gem.
