Ski jumper Dawid Kubacki fears for the life of his wife Marta and has therefore ended his season prematurely.
"She has come to the hospital for cardiological reasons, she is in poor condition and the doctors are fighting for her life," wrote the Pole on social networks on Monday. The Kubackis have two children, daughter Maja was born in early January during the Four Hills Tournament.
Ex-world champion Kubacki - winner of the 2020 Four Hills Tournament - had suddenly started his journey home in Vikersund at the weekend, although he still had a chance of winning the overall World Cup. His wife is “in good hands, she is a strong girl. I know she will fight," wrote the 33-year-old.
He will miss the final competitions in Lahti and Planica. "Of course that means the end of the season for me - but that's not important now," said Kubacki.
