You're a man of action. You live
0:02
life to the fullest. Embrace your fears
0:04
and boldly chart your own path. When
0:06
life knocks you down, you get back
0:08
up one more time, every time. You
0:10
are not easily deterred or defeated, rugged,
0:13
resilient, or strong. This
0:15
is your life. This is who you are. This
0:17
is who you will become at the end of
0:20
the day. And after all is said and done,
0:22
you can call yourself a man. Gentlemen,
0:25
welcome to the Order of Man podcast.
0:27
Glad you're here. Glad you're back tuning
0:29
in. I want to talk with
0:31
you today about settling. So
0:33
many of us as men often settle in
0:35
our lives. Sometimes we don't think
0:38
we're worthy of having more. Sometimes
0:40
we're resting on
0:42
our laurels or writing other people's coattails
0:44
because we get lazy. But
0:46
there's all sorts of reasons why we might settle
0:48
in our lives. And what ends up happening is
0:51
we feel frustrated to say
0:53
the least. We become anxious.
0:56
We become frustrated. We become
0:58
irritable because inside we
1:00
know that we're capable of so much
1:02
more. And yet our performance
1:04
is not matching the thought. There's
1:06
the gap between what we know
1:09
we ought to be doing and the way
1:11
that we're actually showing up. It's very easy
1:13
to do. It's very easy to get sidetracked.
1:15
And today I want to share with you
1:17
five mindsets that have helped me as
1:19
I incorporate these mindsets into my life to
1:22
ensure that I'm not settling for mediocrity,
1:25
to ensure that I'm not settling for less
1:27
than I'm capable of, and that I'm always
1:29
showing up fully for myself, for
1:31
my family, for my loved ones, for my
1:34
clients, and for people who are relying upon
1:36
me to show up in a very powerful
1:38
way. Now that's not to say that I
1:40
have never fallen short or never not settled.
1:43
I certainly have settled in times
1:46
in my life and it produces
1:49
less than favorable, to put it mildly,
1:51
results and sometimes disastrous results. So let's
1:54
just jump right into this today. There's
1:56
five mindsets here. Number one is I
1:58
think it's important that that we know that
2:01
we are worth so much more than
2:03
we think we are. I talk
2:05
with men every single day and one of the
2:07
reoccurring themes that I hear from these guys is
2:09
they don't believe that they're worthy
2:12
of having something great. They don't believe
2:14
that they're worthy of doing
2:16
something incredible, like starting a business
2:18
or having a thriving marriage or
2:20
having a deeply committed relationship with
2:22
their children or having
2:24
the six pack abs or going
2:27
on vacations or becoming independently wealthy.
2:29
Guys, if you don't believe
2:31
that about yourself, then you're not
2:33
going to do the work required to get
2:35
there because you know it's futile. Regardless
2:38
of how hard you work, nothing is gonna work
2:40
for you. You know, you talk
2:42
with guys who say, oh man, this guy and
2:44
that guy, they're so lucky. If I had that
2:46
then, no, it's not luck. It's
2:49
hard work. Those individuals who have
2:52
success in their life, especially if
2:54
it's a long-term consistent replicatable are
2:56
not getting lucky. They're
2:58
doing something that other men aren't in
3:01
order to produce those results. There's
3:03
an inherent danger in believing
3:06
that somebody has success because they
3:08
got lucky. And the danger is
3:10
this, if you believe that
3:12
success is the result of luck
3:15
and nothing more, then all you can do
3:17
in your life to have success is to
3:19
get lucky. And what do we do? We
3:22
sit back and we wait and
3:24
we hope and we complain about what's
3:26
not working well, hoping that one day
3:29
we'll hit gold. One
3:31
day your ship will come in. Guys, it
3:33
doesn't work like that. But in
3:35
order to produce those big results, you have to
3:37
do big things. And in order to do big
3:39
things, you have to believe that you're
3:41
worthy of it and that you're capable of
3:43
it. Guys, you are here on
3:45
this planet to do something wonderful. You
3:47
have a set of experiences and beliefs
3:51
and failures and victories and
3:53
skill sets that are making
3:55
you uniquely qualified to offer
3:57
more value in the world.
4:00
are valuable, you're inherently valuable.
4:02
And that's not to say that just because
4:05
you are a valuable being that you're going
4:07
to achieve the success that you want, you
4:09
have to put forth the work. But it
4:11
always starts with believing that you're worth it.
4:14
Guys, you're worth fighting
4:17
for in a relationship. You're
4:20
worth having at an organization because you
4:22
can add value to the organization and
4:24
to the clients that you serve. You're
4:27
worth, weight and gold, if not
4:29
more to your children who are relying on you
4:31
to show up in a powerful way. When
4:33
you believe that, and you
4:36
think about that, and you internalize and that
4:38
becomes part of your DNA, you are more
4:40
likely to do the work required to achieve
4:42
the inevitable results that you desire. Number one,
4:44
believe that you are worthy. Number
4:47
two, know that nobody owes you anything.
4:50
Just because you are worthy of something great,
4:52
just because you are capable of so much
4:54
more than you might even believe yourself to
4:56
be, doesn't mean that others are going to
4:58
bend over backwards to make it happen. It's
5:00
on you. And look, I
5:03
don't want to get calloused because I think this thought can
5:05
be taken to the extreme that there's nobody who wants to
5:07
help you. Nobody who can do it as good as you.
5:09
You hear guys who say, if you want it done, you
5:11
have to do it yourself. Not
5:14
necessarily. There's, there's
5:16
incredible people in my life who
5:19
are part of this movement, for example,
5:21
that facilitate different parts of the movement
5:23
that we have here and the operations
5:25
behind what we're doing. They do it
5:27
significantly better than I can. So
5:29
I'm not saying that there aren't going to
5:32
be people in your life like your wife
5:34
or your children or your coworkers or employees
5:36
or neighbors or clergy members or
5:38
people in your church congregation who are going to
5:41
be there to serve you. They are. But
5:43
at the end of the day, your success is your
5:47
responsibility. Nobody's going
5:49
to bend over backwards to help you accomplish
5:51
what it is you want to accomplish, especially
5:53
if you're not willing to communicate and share
5:55
it. And if They
5:58
care more about. Your.
6:00
Success! The New do. You've.
6:02
Got a problem? By. We've all worked with
6:04
somebody who said they want to help and then we go to
6:06
help of neat. We realize they don't want health they want us
6:08
to do it off. That's. A
6:11
person who. Doesn't. Believe that
6:13
the responsibility is fully on their shoulders
6:15
to achieve what they want to achieve,
6:17
and that's where it is for you.
6:20
The. Responsibility of your life is
6:22
on you. It's. Not on
6:24
anybody else. is not your wife's job to
6:26
make you happy. Is. Not your
6:28
employer job to keep you employed or did
6:30
you clients is not your clients job to
6:33
I used to but you can make livelihood
6:35
now. Does that happen? Sure, but it's not
6:37
their responsibility. It's. Your
6:39
responsibility. And. So we have
6:42
to bring in the right people and
6:44
that those individuals and surround ourselves with
6:46
right people served them diligently. So.
6:48
That they will contribute to
6:51
our overall goals and objectives.
6:53
The. Guys realize that. No.
6:56
One owes you anything. No one's going to rescue,
6:58
No one's going to save you. It's.
7:00
Not all on your shoulders, but the
7:02
responsibility is all on your shoulders. Number.
7:05
Three realize that you're either growing and
7:07
life or you're dying. There's. No
7:09
Cruise control for life. Sometimes we believe
7:12
there is. I've. Done this in
7:14
the past where I'd had business success.
7:16
And. Because I I enjoy the success
7:19
that. I've I've earned
7:21
frankly that I can just toast.
7:24
That. I can just sit back. That. I no
7:26
longer have to do anything that the you
7:28
know the gods a fortune have smiled down
7:30
upon me and rained upon me. There are
7:33
abundant blessings. That. It
7:35
isn't true. What ends up happening if you're
7:37
resting on your laurels or something that you've
7:39
done in the past is that you begin
7:41
to falter. You begin to slip. They start
7:43
falling through the cracks, Things start piling up
7:45
that you may not see right away, but
7:47
it's going to happen at some point. Eyes.
7:51
I have a friend and my former
7:53
football baseball coach in high school who
7:55
would always say you're only as good
7:57
as your last that that. The.
7:59
Only as. Is your last at bat? So.
8:01
People will talk about how great they
8:03
are and how much money they made
8:05
three years ago, what their business did
8:07
ten years ago and will kind of
8:09
high school You know, athlete they were.
8:12
I. Don't care about any of that. Know.
8:15
But neither does anybody else. You're the only
8:17
one who cares about that. And. Guess
8:19
what if you did something ten years
8:21
ago? Congratulations, what did you do today?
8:23
It's like going into a restaurant or
8:26
hotel and you see on the wall.
8:29
Best. Hotel in the area for
8:31
two thousand and Ten Eleven Twelve Thirteen,
8:33
Fourteen Fifteen an adult. how were the
8:35
best for five years and or of
8:37
two thousand and fifteen? That was nine
8:39
years ago. Where's. The plaque
8:41
for Twenty Twenty Two, Twenty Twenty Three Twenty Twenty
8:43
Four. Oh, it's not up there. Guess what? You're.
8:46
Not what you used to be, Because.
8:48
You let things slip. You.
8:50
Have things fall. Go. Look
8:53
in the mirror. Good naked right now. Go look in the
8:55
mirror and ask yourself, are you was good Today. As.
8:57
Far as your body composition as you
8:59
were last year or five years ago
9:02
or ten years ago. If.
9:04
It's not the new coast. it. You.
9:06
Rested. You. Believe
9:09
that you arrive. Potentially Even in that she no
9:11
longer have to address those things well. The
9:14
reality of life is that
9:16
what you don't pay attention
9:18
to will gradually rust, decay,
9:20
fall apart. breakdown. That.
9:23
Doesn't apply just a tangible objects
9:25
like a car technology. Applies.
9:27
Relationships. It applies
9:29
your business. It. Applies to your
9:32
health. If. You don't take care of
9:34
it. They. Will break down, continue
9:36
to maintain and grow because if
9:38
you're not wrong again, you're dying.
9:41
Number four. And his ties
9:43
into the first one about worth You already have
9:46
everything it takes to be successful. Insiders.
9:50
And. Resources or and frankly, us there.
9:52
there's no better time in the
9:54
history of. This. Planet and
9:56
our species. To
9:58
have success. However, You
10:01
want to measure success. The
10:03
technology that we have here. The.
10:05
Ease of travel. Ecommerce.
10:10
Capitalism in general. Access.
10:13
To life saving medical
10:15
information, Access to financial
10:17
abundance, Access to educational
10:19
resources. Mean. Think about trying
10:21
to gain access to books. Well.
10:25
Be. Quite. Frankly, before there was
10:27
even the printing press. Who. Had
10:29
access to those. The. Ultra
10:31
exclusive. The ultra wealthy. That's it. Not the
10:33
common man like you and I. Are
10:36
because we have the printing press. Now I can go
10:38
to the library attorney the buy a book. On.
10:40
Go to the library with a free library
10:42
card. Pick. Up a book by my
10:44
favorite author. Read it, or some of the
10:46
smartest man throughout history. Read it, and then
10:49
immediately start applying it. If I don't
10:51
want to go to the library, I can jump on
10:53
this little device. I have my phone. And
10:55
download something. Maybe I don't even want to read it.
10:57
Cool. I'll listen to it. Tastes.
11:00
The information's there. You.
11:02
Have All of the resources. now. The
11:04
only thing I think that separates those
11:07
who are successful from those who aren't
11:09
is not access to the resources. It's
11:11
utilization of those resources. He.
11:14
Lot must utilizes resources better then
11:16
I would say the average person
11:18
as it pertains to. His
11:21
business and capitalism. Now.
11:23
You might say, Well, yes. more money? Oh yeah.
11:26
Why? Because he utilized his
11:28
resources better than the average individual
11:30
like myself for example, I
11:33
get to that point. And people say
11:35
well, the rich get richer The poor get poorer Right
11:37
is either growing your your die. Let.
11:41
Give you the counter example that must say
11:43
that you put into the lottery a new
11:45
one. Ten million Dollars. How long without the
11:48
financial acumen to earn ten million dollars? How
11:50
long do you think you would have ten
11:52
million dollars in your account if you win
11:54
the lottery? It If you're being honest. In
11:57
a year, how much would you have less or more. In
12:00
five years would you have less or more than ten million
12:02
dollar that worse in ten years with the have less or
12:04
more. I. Think if you don't have
12:06
the financial actually made you to all of us if we're
12:08
being honest would have less. Because.
12:10
We haven't earned the right to that
12:12
amount of money and so we default
12:15
back to what we know. So you
12:17
have to continue to put forth the
12:19
effort and have to continue to grow.
12:21
But know you have all the mindset
12:23
he had, the abundance, yet the prosperity.
12:25
Yeah, the opportunity. And all that
12:27
we need to do now is to employ
12:29
it. Correctly. And.
12:31
Successfully. Part.
12:33
Of a way that we do that is by listening to information
12:35
like this. Hiring mentors or and
12:38
coaches going to courses programs
12:40
he says signing up for
12:42
newsletters, listening to podcasts, reading
12:44
books, It's all there. I
12:47
wish that you use it. I can
12:49
remember who said but intimate a butcher
12:51
this quote but ah. The man
12:53
who does not read. As
12:56
no advantage over the man who cannot read.
12:59
The. Man who does not read as no advantage
13:01
of the man who cannot read. So if you
13:04
take an individual who's in capable of achieving. And
13:07
you compare that to you or me, we're capable
13:09
of achieving and yet we're not implying the resources
13:11
the way they should be employed. And. We
13:13
have no advantage over the guy who can't do it.
13:16
We were the same camp as I guess. So.
13:18
Guys, let's employ our resources correctly.
13:21
Let's. Learn to invest in ourselves. To.
13:24
Utilize what we have available to know that were
13:26
worthy of it and to go out make it
13:28
happen. On. And.
13:31
And the last thing here that
13:33
I wanted to share is that
13:35
there's gonna be people in your
13:37
camp who are. Wanting.
13:39
To see when. They're. Wanting to see
13:41
you succeed And there's people who don't want you
13:44
to win and don't want to succeed. For.
13:46
Whatever reason, we don't have to get
13:48
into all those reasons, but it's our
13:50
job to discern who the individuals in
13:52
our lives are that want us to
13:54
succeed. And. There's gonna be some who
13:56
are indifferent and then there's the be those who
13:58
don't want us to succeed. Our
14:01
job in this. Situation is
14:03
to identify those individuals even if it's
14:05
close family and friends who are sabotaging
14:07
you. Undermine. Are you bringing negative energy
14:10
into your life, hoping that you fail
14:12
in some way because it's an indictment
14:14
against them, not necessarily you. You need
14:16
to get rid of those people. You
14:19
cannot have those people in your life
14:21
because if you do, They're.
14:24
Going to drag you down. And. That's exactly what they
14:26
want to do. They. Want to drag you
14:28
down? Conversely, There
14:30
are people in your life who you may not
14:32
even fully acknowledged to the degree that maybe ah,
14:34
to. Who. Wants you to wind, Who wants
14:36
you succeed, Who wants to do well, Who will support
14:38
you, Who will invest in you Who do believe in.
14:41
Those. Are the people and matter? You. Find
14:43
those kind of people. And. Purge all
14:46
the people who are distractions a negative
14:48
energy. And. Toxicity to what
14:50
you're trying to create, and instead
14:52
you invite through intentionality the right
14:54
people who care about you and
14:56
wanna see when they're smart. they're
14:58
successful, They're willing to share their
15:00
humble, their gracious, their kind. Man.
15:04
You're going to be unstoppable. I. Know that
15:06
might be a little bit town or to what
15:08
I said is that you know no one's going
15:10
to save you. And what I mean
15:12
by that as as thought the responsibility But you
15:14
better believe there are people in your life who
15:16
want you to win and who will do. What?
15:19
They can to help. That. Become a
15:21
reality. This is a very short one. But.
15:24
It's important I don't want you to
15:26
settle a life. Guys have a plan
15:28
right? Have some action stabs making sure
15:30
that you're doing the after action reviews
15:32
that we've talked about, evaluating your progress,
15:34
pivoting, adjusting, correcting along the way. Those
15:36
are all tactical strategies that we could
15:39
talk more about and we have talked
15:41
about the past. I just want us
15:43
to get right in the mind. First.
15:46
Because. Once it's right up here and then
15:48
we get down in the paper it in
15:50
the absence everything else is gonna move for
15:53
for their let's recap real quick. Number one,
15:55
you are worth so much more than you
15:57
might believe yourself to be. Don't.
15:59
fall into imposter syndrome. Don't let
16:01
anybody speak disparagingly about you
16:03
or beat you up. Don't
16:06
let that into your life. Don't even
16:08
do it to yourself. You're worth
16:10
it. And you are worthy of having
16:12
something great. I don't even know how else
16:14
to say it other than God wants you
16:16
to win. He wants you
16:19
to succeed. You are here for a reason. We just have
16:21
to figure out what it is and then start putting it
16:23
into action. Number two, no one
16:25
owes you anything. Now there's going to be
16:27
again people who come in your life who are going to
16:29
serve you, but they don't owe you anything. Your
16:32
success, your results are a
16:34
direct reflection of your responsibility,
16:36
the level of your responsibility for
16:38
your life. Number three, you're
16:40
either growing or dying, no cruise control.
16:43
You're getting better or you're getting worse.
16:45
You're rusting, you're eroding, you're breaking down
16:47
or you're growing and thriving and building and getting
16:49
better. Number four is you
16:51
already have everything that it takes. You
16:54
don't need anything else. Sometimes
16:56
we have so many guys who are
16:58
in this paralysis by analysis or this
17:00
perfection paralysis, I call it, where everything
17:02
has to be just perfect before they
17:04
launch. No, it doesn't. You
17:06
have everything to get on the path
17:08
right now. Just make sure you're utilizing
17:11
and employing it correctly. And
17:13
again, the last point here is that there's going to
17:15
be some people in your camp who are rooting for
17:17
you, who are allies, who want to
17:19
stand shoulder to shoulder with you. And there's
17:21
some traders in your midst and
17:24
they're not always doing it
17:26
out of some malicious intent. In
17:28
fact, I don't think, I think most of the time they're not,
17:31
but that doesn't matter because what they
17:33
bring is actually detrimental
17:36
to what you want to accomplish. Identify the
17:38
traders in your midst, identify the
17:41
allies, and then take steps and
17:43
actions appropriately and accordingly. Guys,
17:45
I hope that serves you. If you have
17:47
other thoughts about what you'd like me to
17:49
share or thoughts about this subject in particular,
17:51
just take a screenshot, post it
17:53
up on Instagram, post it up on Twitter, post it
17:55
up on Facebook. And also while you do that, just
17:57
message me and say, Hey, right, here's another thought for
17:59
it. for you, or make
18:01
a comment on Instagram or X or
18:04
Facebook and let me
18:06
know what you're thinking. This is a community, order,
18:09
meaning organization, fraternal organization. This isn't just
18:11
me sharing my thoughts and ideas, it
18:13
should be all of us sharing our
18:15
thoughts and ideas collectively so we can
18:17
all be served by it. The
18:20
only announcements I have for you today is that
18:22
we have, I believe, two spots available for
18:25
our Uprising Experience, which is gonna be held May
18:27

18:30
that's coming up very quickly. Would love to see you
18:32
there. 20 men are coming to a very
18:35
