According to a study depicted on NPR on June 20th, researchers conducted an experiment where they dropped 17,000 wallets in 40 different countries, containing varying amounts of cash, contact information and other personal effects. As it turns out, while most of us would think that the wallets would be long gone, the researchers discovered that most wallets, especially those containing cash, were handed over to the authorities.
