Overall Strategy
Build up ultimate charge asap by hacking healthpacks and doing damage and then initiating with EMP. Flanking can be done several ways - finishing off low hp heroes, hacking heroes so they lose their escape/heal and then dueling them, or just harassing with a hack and weapon damage
What makes a Bad, Good, and Great Sombra
Bad: doesn’t use hack effectively to build up charge and harass enemies, doesn’t use teleporter to keep enemies guessing where she is, and only tries to DPS
Good: knows her kit (doing the opposite of “bad”), but isn’t opportunistic enough to initiate team fights and finish off critical heroes
Great: has ULT for almost every team fight, enemies always run into hacked healthpacks, enemies are shut down (EMP/hack) right before and during team fights, and Sombra is always flanking
Heroes Sombra is good against
Heroes with shields (Rein, Orisa), heroes that are skill-heavy (Mercy, Doomfist, Tracer sometimes, DVA)
Heroes Sombra is weak against
High damage/short range heroes (Tracer, Soldier, Reaper)
So, what does the community think of Sombra?
Not a lot of hate, but if you’re playing Sombra people expect you to swing team fights in lieu of doing massive DPS. Since you won’t top the damage charts regularly, you need to stay on top of hacking and harassing to make an impact
