Hello
0:00
and welcome to the Oxventure D&D podcast.
0:02
It's a D&D podcast sometimes where
0:04
we talk about episodes of Oxventure. I'm
0:07
Jane, I play Prudence the Tiefling Warlock when we're
0:09
playing D&D, but when we're playing Deadlands
0:11
like right now I play Garnet Munroe
0:14
and I'm joined today by Andy. Welcome back Andy.
0:16
Hello, thanks for having me back. I'm Andy, I
0:19
am in Oxventure but also in Deadlands
0:21
where I run it. Where you're the Marshal.
0:24
Yeah, Marshal. That's me. Right,
0:26
today we're listening to a
0:28
fresh new episode of Deadlands and
0:30
it's called 40 Times a Killer
0:33
Part 2. So it is the
0:35
second and final part of last week's
0:38
Deadlands adventure, caper. Yeah, Edie
0:40
and Silas are
0:43
in the sanatorium and
0:45
heading up to the treatment area to find out
0:47
what mysterious things are going on in
0:49
this strange hospital.
0:51
Indeed, but
0:54
first things and important things first,
0:56
I need you to review the Starbucks, what was it called?
0:59
The oat apple crisp ice milk
1:01
latte.
1:02
Wait, the
1:05
apple crisp oat milk shake
1:07
and espresso. It sounds like a bowl
1:10
of breakfast cereal. It does, doesn't it? It was nice,
1:12
it was very seasonally
1:15
appropriate. It was the kind
1:18
of subtle fruitiness to it which
1:20
goes quite well with coffee and the kind of like,
1:23
you know how oat milk is quite creamy. Sure.
1:27
So you get like a layer of that and then you shake it up and you've got
1:29
a nice sort of creamy, apple-y, coffee kind
1:31
of taste to it. It's very, yeah, very
1:33
seasonally appropriate. Although it was, we
1:35
were in Seattle and it was very warm right
1:37
up until the last day when it got all kind of overcast
1:40
and drizzly which felt much more appropriate
1:42
for the Pacific. And then you switched to the pumpkin spices,
1:44
the hot lattes. Yeah, I did have a hot
1:47
one. Ellen was on the pumpkin spice chai
1:49
all week so, you know, she got straight
1:51
on. Does it taste different in Seattle?
1:54
You know, the birthplace
1:56
of Starbucks. I mean, not really. Starbucks
1:59
is the same everywhere, isn't it? I've never been to Seattle,
2:01
incredibly, somehow, never made it. Oh, you love
2:03
it, it's great. Next time, next
2:05
time. Did you have a nice time at PAX? Yes,
2:08
yeah, it was good. It's a good show. It's kind
2:11
of split out across the city in a way that
2:13
PAX East isn't. So there's two
2:16
different convention halls, a lot
2:18
of the panels take place in nearby hotels and stuff.
2:21
So you're constantly sort of leaving the venue
2:23
and heading outside and walking across the streets
2:25
and stuff, which I actually, I quite like. Some people
2:27
complain about it not being all in one place, but I find
2:29
it's quite nice to get outside and see
2:31
the sky. You
2:32
can get more of a sense of the city, the location.
2:35
Exactly, and all the vendors,
2:38
the food and drink places inside, don't
2:40
get us overwhelmed. You can pop out and get a coffee or
2:42
things like that. It's nice. And
2:44
Seattle's a great city. I really like it there. So
2:47
it's a good chance to just pop your head outside
2:49
and take in the Pacific Northwest. I saw you did
2:51
your little Twin Peaks... Yeah,
2:54
I dragged everyone with me to North
2:57
Bend and Snook Almee Falls. Not on Marge,
2:59
that's what I'm going for. Yeah, sorry, tell me about it. Yeah,
3:01
well, it's just it's where they filmed Twin
3:03
Peaks. So the hotel that is the great northern in
3:05
Twin Peaks is up there, overlooking Snook Almee
3:08
Falls. There's a nice little hike
3:10
you can do from the top of the falls down to the bottom
3:13
where there's a sort of hydroelectric and water treatment
3:15
climb down there. Did you hike? Yeah, it
3:17
was only about 20 minutes. It takes
3:19
you about 20 minutes to walk down, about 25 to walk back up, because
3:21
it's quite steep. OK.
3:22
Yeah, it's nice.
3:24
A lot of trees, a lot of Douglas furs around
3:26
there, named after you, I presume. My
3:29
boys, my furry boys. And
3:31
then the diner from Twin Peaks, the Double R. That's
3:34
in a nearby town called North Bend, which
3:38
is, yeah, it's a great little diner. Just
3:41
a nice sort of
3:42
mountainous foresty town up there. Yeah, I saw pictures of
3:44
you folks at the diner, and
3:48
I'm always surprised by how like, un-Twin Peaks-y
3:50
it is. Obviously, it looks
3:52
like it did, but it
3:54
doesn't look like they've ruthlessly exploited their Twin Peaks.
3:57
Well, you can buy a lot
3:57
of Twin Peaks stuff.
3:59
the counter, we'll check it out. I bought a couple
4:02
of Double R Diner coffee mugs and the bathrooms
4:04
are really Twin Peaks-y. Okay. Yeah,
4:07
towards the bathroom there's a whole wall covered in like
4:09
pictures from the show and mock-ups
4:12
like
4:13
the thing in the show where they were objecting
4:15
to the ghost wood development and things like that, a lot
4:18
of flyers and things like that. Pictures
4:20
of Bob the Killer.
4:21
Oh well, well in that case I retract my earlier statement
4:23
about not having ruthlessly exploited their...
4:26
It's like trying to have the best of both worlds. It's trying to
4:28
be a sort of like popular local diner but
4:30
also for the weirdos that come in it's like well
4:32
over to the back of the restaurant if you want to go and be weird you can
4:34
do it over there.
4:35
So you get a nice cross-section of customers. Yeah
4:37
exactly. Well it's the same with the hotel because the hotel
4:40
is
4:40
both an incredibly upscale spa hotel
4:43
and a location from Twin Peaks so the people staying
4:45
there are generally
4:46
pretty much 50-50 either like fancy people
4:49
on a spa, vacation or... I
4:51
remember you stayed there yeah. Yeah or
4:53
like rabid Twin Peaks fans like me.
4:55
Yeah. And also they do a bunch of like
4:58
bee themed merchandise. Well they have their own yeah if
5:00
they make their own honey they have their own apiary.
5:02
So something for everyone. Something for
5:04
everyone for bee themed fans
5:07
but also for people who like obscure
5:10
well not that obscure but surreal 90s
5:13
television shows.
5:13
Yeah cult hit TV
5:16
shows. I remember
5:19
when Twin Peaks was on like
5:21
I guess it must have been a repeat but I must have been very little
5:23
and I was absolutely mystified and
5:26
terrified and I didn't know what I was watching
5:28
so.
5:29
Well yeah I think that's everyone's response. Yeah.
5:31
It's not meant for children.
5:34
No that is true. No it's true. Okay
5:36
well shall we listen to 40
5:38
times a killer potter and
5:40
then have a little chat about it on the other side. Sounds
5:43
good. Cool
5:43
all right listen up everyone here comes
5:46
your Deadlands. Deadlands
5:49
takes place in the weird west a treacherous
5:52
frontier where legends are born and nightmares
5:54
are re-oiled. Here five
5:56
wild cards come together to seek fortune,
5:59
justice and
5:59
revenge and what awaits
6:02
them in the treatment area.
6:16
Hello and welcome back to Oxventure Presents
6:18
Deadlands. I'm Andy and I will be marshalling
6:21
today the game and my players here
6:23
are on my right. Please introduce
6:25
yourself, starting with you there, Silas.
6:27
I am Mike and I will be playing Silas Flit.
6:30
I'm Ellen and I will be playing Evie
6:33
Ballantyne. This episode
6:35
of Oxventure Presents Deadlands is brought to you by Misty
6:38
Mountain Gaming. They've given us a
6:40

6:51
of your own Misty Mountain dice. Our thanks to Misty
6:54
Mountain Gaming for their support. It's
6:56
that clinking.
6:57
Ooh, that's going to
6:59
hurt. Oops.
7:02
Oh no, I shot myself in the foot. Yeah,
7:05
you take two wounds, Silas. And
7:08
me and Jill. You quietly pass away. No,
7:11
so we rejoin Edie and Silas
7:14
after a
7:15
pretty rough few hours, I would say. So
7:19
in the last episode, you travelled to
7:21
the town of Sublimity Falls on
7:24
the trail of Daisy DuCrow, the next
7:26
target
7:27
on Victoria's List. Once
7:29
you arrived there, you discovered a
7:31
Hobbs End Sanatorium, which is a sort
7:34
of high-end hospital for extremely wealthy folks.
7:37
What
7:37
happened then? Why don't you tell the audience?
7:40
Well, we stealthily
7:42
worked our way in and then
7:44
we, you know, by disguising ourselves and
7:47
then with a lot of arm-waving, Silas's
7:51
understanding of what a fancy person is fairly
7:54
far removed from what an actual fancy person is. And
7:56
we got right up to the point where we had to pay the bill for
7:58
the hospital and then... And then it just turned
8:00
into a big fight with a gross Poxwalker,
8:03
which I was not familiar with before we recorded
8:05
that episode, and I'm now pretty
8:08
sad that I'm familiar with it afterwards. I was
8:10
unfamiliar with anything, yeah. But we killed
8:12
it, but at a cost.
8:14
Yeah, so you both fought Dr. Harker, the
8:18
former head of medicine here at the sanatorium,
8:22
who it turns out was doing nefarious
8:25
things in the town, and was in fact, as
8:27
you say, a Poxwalker. So
8:29
you both took a wound in that fight.
8:33
Edie, you failed your vigor
8:35
check. So in fact,
8:37
you sort of touched the wound, and it
8:39
feels kind of hot, and you actually
8:41
cough a few
8:43
times. There's something not
8:45
quite right. Your
8:48
chest feels tight. My
8:50
chest feels tight. Anything else? Any
8:52
other symptoms? But
8:54
I just... It's
8:57
very hot. It feels like it's burning
8:59
up and could spread. What
9:01
was on that sword? Can
9:04
we have a look around the room and see if... I mean, like,
9:06
this is a medical office, right? Are there any, like... Is
9:09
there any, like, lotions and potions that
9:12
might pop up? Yeah, I mean,
9:14
do either of you have the healing skill?
9:17
Let me tell you. I have a single D4 in healing.
9:23
Okay. Same. I
9:25
was like, just... Doctrine stuff. Okay,
9:28
well, you're not... But that means you're not untrained. Not
9:30
untrained. You have the skill in healing. All right, so you can have
9:33
a go at healing yourself.
9:35
Silas is used to patch himself up when he's
9:37
been out chasing criminals. Yeah,
9:41
I'm going to roll as well. Four. I've
9:43
got a four on my healing. You've got a four on
9:45
your four? Yeah. So that's a... So I can...
9:47
I've got a two on my four. And a one. And a three on
9:49
my six. So it's five altogether. So
9:52
normally you would subtract one from
9:54
a healing roll if you don't have a basic
9:56
first aid kit or something to hand, but you are in
9:58
a doctor's office. So I think... We
10:01
can assume that there's the supplies you need so you got
10:03
one success. I got nothing. You got
10:05
nothing. Okay, so Edie you can remove your
10:07
wound. Silas you remain
10:10
wounded.
10:11
Can I try and help out Silas? Can
10:13
I give it another go? You can. Each
10:15
attempt at healing does take 10 minutes.
10:18
So you've been here 10 minutes
10:20
already with the exploded doctor. I'm
10:24
not sure it's good to be in this room. Same rhythm
10:26
as this guy, fine. You
10:28
can have a go if you want.
10:29
Silas would you like me to try? Give
10:32
it another go. I've been much obliged to you.
10:37
Oh, that's six. And
10:40
a four. So ten. Okay, yeah, okay.
10:43
So remove your wound as
10:45
well. You have been in here
10:47
for 20 minutes now. Patching yourself
10:49
up with various lotions and potions.
10:52
Yep. We've got the keys
10:54
to the treatment room. Yeah. During the
10:56
time that this is happening,
10:59
there's a sort of rudimentary
11:02
electric light system here in the hospital. And
11:05
as your sort of winding goes around
11:08
Edie's arm and you're sort of patching up your
11:10
shoulder, you hear a sort of whine
11:13
run through the building and you see the lights
11:15
above you sort of start to flicker and... The whining's
11:17
just me as I'm patching
11:18
up. Oh! The
11:20
hiking twiney is coming from Silas. The electric lights,
11:23
however, do dim and flicker and they
11:25
seem to flick off and then back on again.
11:27
There's something is clearly
11:29
happening. And then you hear the
11:31
sort of bing bong thing come over the speaking
11:33
tube again
11:34
and you hear a voice
11:37
come over the intercom and
11:40
it says, Disposal team to
11:42
the treatment area, please. Disposal
11:45
team to the treatment area, please.
11:48
This is Director Ducro. Thank you for your time.
11:51
Bing bong. How did that feel about
11:53
becoming a disposal team? Ah,
11:57
you know, it's a slightly different direction
11:59
of my life. career but I can give it a
12:01
go. Okay let's um
12:04
yeah let's head over to the uh treatment
12:06
area and see what's see what's going on. Um
12:10
okay so uh yeah you're
12:12
leaving the office of uh Dr
12:14
Harker are you gonna just leave him there on the car? Yeah
12:16
I'm gonna lock the door behind me. Yeah see if we can lock
12:18
the door. We've got the keys. Yeah
12:21
he would have the key to his own office that's fine so
12:23
yeah that's not a problem. Um you'd
12:25
lock yeah you lock the the
12:27
office door. Um because he locked us in right
12:30
so he would have to use that key. Yeah exactly. All
12:32
right so you're heading up the stairs to.
12:34
Yeah somewhat stealthily I would say like
12:36
we're trying to be quiet. I'm still wearing my fancy
12:38
clothes so might we
12:40
might not be immediately made. Yeah at
12:43
a distance perhaps but um. Also
12:44
I would like to note that I've reloaded
12:47
my guns. Oh yeah I'm sure
12:49
I would have done that during the yeah
12:51
during the healing process. So it makes sense
12:54
makes sense uh you're on the combat so that's fine. Yeah
12:56
got the six shooters back
12:58
to full fine.
13:00
Yeah maintain stealth please.
13:02
Okay cool so you're heading up um the
13:04
stairs to the treatment area. So
13:07
yeah use the key marked
13:09
treatment area you unlock the uh the door
13:12
they sort of swing open. And
13:15
this part of the hospital it seems a little
13:18
less fancy than the sort of downstairs area. So
13:20
downstairs we've all very kind of clean clinical
13:22
white with um dog wood
13:24
and brass and uh
13:26
very very nice and you
13:28
know expensive looking. Up here it's
13:31
a bit more dilapidated isn't
13:33
the word but sort of unloved I
13:36
think is uh it's the way to describe it. Look
13:38
at that. I mean
13:40
it's real Frankenstein's lab. It's very dark there
13:43
are sort of these rudimentary lights sort
13:45
of strung along the corridor. It's slightly too
13:47
far intervals to provide enough light
13:50
sort of dim light
13:51
um and you can see different rooms
13:54
along this corridor there's a sort of checkerboard
13:56
of white and black tiles on the floor. Okay
13:59
you see these doors and they're
13:59
There are observation windows
14:01
and they have signs above them, say
14:04
like treat room, alpha treat room,
14:06
room, beta, treatment room, gamma,
14:09
etc. At the far end
14:11
of the corridor you can see a
14:13
couple of rooms that have sort
14:15
of light flowing
14:17
out of them as if the lights are sort
14:19
of on in those rooms. From
14:22
the distance you can just about make out treatment
14:24
room psi and omega.
14:26
And the
14:29
treatment room psi, one
14:32
on the left, you see two
14:34
people in boiler suits wheeling out
14:36
a gurney and there's a body bag on
14:38
this gurney. They
14:41
wheel it out and they don't turn towards you, they
14:43
go the other way, there's some double doors at the end that
14:45
they take this
14:47
body bag through. Is
14:50
it possible to look through any
14:52
of the observation things without
14:54
making a horrible noise? Do
14:56
they feel like they're sticky, like they're going to make a horrible
14:58
creaking noise? I don't know, Silas,
15:01
why don't you make me a stealth check? Alright,
15:03
yes we'll find out. I have a
15:06
six in stealth, that's fine. Again,
15:09
used to hunt in bandits.
15:12
Yeah, I got four and a three. Four and
15:15
a three, okay so one success. So yeah, you sort of very
15:17
gingerly, the
15:19
door is on a sort of swing hinge. So you sort
15:21
of push it and it
15:23
goes inwards, there isn't a perceptible creak.
15:25
Right, right. The lights are off in this
15:27
room, it's quite dim, quite dark. Can't really
15:30
see much, are you going to go in? No,
15:33
no I was just going to use the observation window to be
15:35
honest with you. Yeah
15:37
I mean I'll have a quick look around, does it feel like there's
15:39
a presence in there at all? No,
15:42
I don't think so, it seems, I mean the light is off
15:45
and yeah it seems sort of dark, it
15:47
seems like maybe this room hasn't been
15:49
used for a while. Is there any apparatus in there at all?
15:51
Yeah so going in, there
15:53
is like a hospital bed, there's
15:55
sort of trays of surgical equipment,
15:57
things like that but everything seems to be covered in a sort of thing.
15:59
thick layer of dust. Huh, interesting, okay.
16:03
Doesn't look like it's been used for a while, yeah.
16:08
I guess we can, should we
16:10
head down the corridor? What
16:12
do you think? I mean, see where they're disposing these
16:14
things, these poor folks.
16:18
I don't think they were patients.
16:21
Do we think to crows in inside,
16:24
in the treatment room? I
16:27
think so, I think so. Do we wanna
16:30
go straight towards
16:32
the disposal there?
16:33
Or do we wanna look
16:37
at the disposal and see what's happening? We can
16:39
have a look.
16:42
Yeah, okay. I guess we're sort of,
16:44
again, advancing down the corridor, cautiously.
16:47
Okay. At least we know there's a dark room that we
16:49
could hide in if we need to book
16:51
it. Yeah. Okay,
16:54
so you're gonna proceed along the corridor. This
16:57
is the emptiest hospital you've ever
17:00
seen. Right. There's no
17:02
one perceptibly on this floor. The rooms
17:04
are all empty. If
17:06
you peer in through the windows, it looks like
17:08
the medical equipment inside has been out
17:11
of use for quite some time. I mean, some of these things
17:14
in here are sort of
17:16
discredited medicine that doesn't, it
17:19
isn't even used anymore. There's a phrenology
17:21
head in one of them. There's a sort of, it's-
17:26
Wait, is it discredited in our time? Yeah, even
17:28
by this time. Even by this time, it's
17:30
sort of been discredited as
17:32
bad science. I'm just thinking about cocaine and
17:34
opium. Yeah,
17:38
so you know, it's old if it's not in use anymore.
17:42
So yeah, this seems like sort of relics
17:45
from a kind of- Yeah, yeah. As
17:48
you make your way down. But
17:52
as you make your way down, the light
17:54
from the treatment rooms down at the end sort
17:56
of starts to spill out more into the corridor. It
17:59
seems like-
17:59
end of the corridor that's where the action
18:02
happens. The action happens when people frequent. Alright.
18:06
Silas. Yeah. I
18:09
have a feeling that
18:12
not all of this might be medicine
18:14
so just keep an open mind
18:17
as to what they might do here. Is it
18:19
the zombie guy that tipped you off? I
18:21
mean that was part of it but
18:24
it's the fact that so little of
18:26
the medical equipment is being used.
18:30
We should approach cautiously. Yeah.
18:34
Um, yeah. I think we need
18:36
to be super deeper careful. Yeah.
18:39
Another coughing fit from... Oh no! Oh
18:41
no. That's why
18:43
I kind of sounded a little bit
18:47
like I'm zen. Now
18:49
it's out just then. Okay,
18:52
so you're continuing towards the end of the corridor. Yeah, I
18:54
think so. As you start to approach treatment
18:56
rooms, psi and omega,
18:58
you hear the rattling of a gurney
19:01
sort of coming. So the corridor ends in
19:03
a sort of T corridor. There are double doors at the end.
19:06
But you start to hear the rattling approach
19:08
of a gurney and two
19:10
doctors. Okay. Possibly,
19:13
orderly as you can't really tell from just the voices.
19:16
Are there any other empty rooms nearby that we can... Yeah,
19:18
they're all empty apart from these last two.
19:20
Okay. So we should probably...
19:22
We should have... I think so too. Quick.
19:28
Yeah, I think it's probably worth
19:30
us doing that. Yeah, so you're going to duck
19:32
into one of these. Yeah, just as quietly
19:34
as possible. Yeah,
19:37
just both of you make me a stealth roll just to see
19:39
how quietly you do this. Yeah.
19:42
That's a
19:44
three and a three. I might spend one
19:46
of my refreshed bennies on that. Yes, it's not
19:48
to mention I refreshed your bennies because you had
19:50
a hard, brutal fight
19:52
and I'm nice. Yeah. That
19:55
is a... Oh, I'm going to also... Two and
19:58
a three. Two and
19:58
a three. I'm gonna
20:01
spend another penny. Okay, now, am I
20:03
gonna spend another penny? Four. I
20:05
am gonna spend another penny. Gambling, kids.
20:08
Yeah, I got four. I got four. Okay, so you've
20:10
got a success with a raise, Edie? Is that right? I
20:13
just break those successes. I got one raise. Okay,
20:16
yeah, the both of you, so quickly
20:18
and quietly, you sort of
20:20
push open the swinging door. Edie
20:24
dashes into the room, and then just before
20:26
these people round the corner, she grabs you and
20:28
pulls you into the room, and
20:31
the door quietly with an imperceptible
20:34
noise swings shut, and you are able
20:37
now to sort of... The glass is not one way
20:39
you can see through it. Okay. So
20:42
you watch as
20:44
these two men in white
20:45
coats, they wheel... It's a hospital bed, but it's
20:48
sort of placed into the upright position, and
20:51
in the bed is Senator Julius
20:53
Waxman. Okay. He's
20:55
alert. He's sort of chatting to the...
20:57
Like an elfie. Well, he still looks ill. He's
21:00
sort of coughing, but he's chatting, and he's like,
21:03
And you're sure it's safe? And they're like,
21:08
Mr. Waxman, you'll be fit as a fiddle
21:10
within five minutes. You won't regret this. This
21:13
will be the best 10,000 you ever spent. Well, it better
21:15
be. It's bloody expensive. So
21:19
they wheel him into treatment
21:23
room Omega, and
21:25
the door sort of swings shut
21:27
behind them. So, treatment
21:29
room Omega, okay. Do
21:32
we think that's where the crow is? I think
21:35
possibly. I think she's the one. A
21:38
minister in the treatment. A minister in the
21:40
treatment, exactly. Okay. You
21:43
can hear sort of low voices coming from inside. Yeah,
21:45
yeah, yeah. So the two doctors have gone in there with...
21:48
With Waxman, yeah.
21:50
Is there an observation window in this door?
21:54
Do you know why they're looking... You can't
21:56
see it from here. It's sort of... Yeah, across
21:58
there. It's down at the end. It's across. from you so
22:00
you can't see in. I'm gonna assume
22:02
that given that they've just gone in they're probably gonna
22:05
be in there for at least a little while getting
22:07
him sorted so I'm gonna sneak a look
22:10
through the observation window and see if I can see anything.
22:12
Okay yeah give me a notice roll.
22:15
Yeah okay. Yeah
22:17
actually I want
22:19
a stealth and a notice roll.
22:22
Okay stealth to do it quietly notice to actually see
22:24
anything. Yeah. Well I've
22:26
got a six on the stealth roll. Nice.
22:28
So I'll roll that again and
22:30
a three. Okay so nice and quiet now
22:32
give me the notice roll. Okay here we go that
22:35
is a three
22:37
and a one. Three and a one. Okay are
22:40
you just staying in the room immediately?
22:41
I
22:44
don't know whether yeah no I might give it a look.
22:46
I would say that the stealth roll is good for sliding
22:49
the door. Yeah.
22:52
Allowing so you can just pass through without having to do the stealth
22:55
roll. ED and I will need a notice roll. Okay.
23:01
That is a five. Okay
23:03
success. Alright so yeah
23:07
so Silas your as you go through
23:09
the door it does unfortunately
23:11
clip against the brim of your hat and it knocks it down over your
23:13
eyes and you can't see anything.
23:16
But luckily ED is also
23:19
there.
23:21
Who turned out the lights? Oh
23:26
so yeah ED you look into the room and
23:28
what you can see is this. It's
23:31
a treatment room much like the others that you've
23:33
seen but all the all
23:36
the beds and things have been taken out
23:38
and dominating the room are these two large
23:40
they look like glass cylinders
23:42
but
23:43
they have a sort of padded back
23:46
to them. Looks like a sort of like
23:48
you would get in sort of a captain's chair
23:50
like a leather chair that
23:52
kind of upholstery along the back. There's
23:54
sort of brass trimming around
23:57
the top and the bottom and the two tubes are linked with
23:59
a sort of flexible.
23:59
tube made of some kind
24:02
of metal now in the
24:04
right hand tube you
24:06
look and there is a man in
24:08
there and this is the sickest
24:10
looking man you have ever seen is
24:13
covered in in boils and he's
24:15
got a pallid sickly complexion he looks
24:17
a little like dr. Harker
24:19
did when he was not
24:21
you know all poxy not disguised
24:24
but this he's not
24:26
he seems not weaker he looks like
24:29
defeated and unhappy and
24:31
basic he's barely conscious in
24:34
the left the left hand tube is empty
24:36
but as you watch
24:38
the men in the white coats they sort of open
24:41
the door and they start to usher senator
24:43
waxman into the left hand cylinder so
24:46
that's what you see currently happens is is do
24:48
crow there at all no this is just
24:51
these four figures in the room
24:55
they're taking the sick they've got something
24:58
they're taking the sickness and
25:00
they're giving it to that poor guy there okay
25:06
anything I mean I don't think
25:08
we can do much right now I think we just find
25:10
a crow and end this quickly okay
25:15
so yeah
25:17
waxman gets into the into the left hand tube
25:19
they they close it and then
25:21
one of the men in the white coats goes
25:23
over and he pulls a lever and you
25:26
see again the sort of the power starts to
25:28
flicker the lights dim and sort of ping the
25:31
light bulbs and
25:34
that's when you hear the screaming the man
25:36
on the right is suddenly being racked with this
25:39
what looks like unbearable pain whereas
25:42
before he was very kind of woozy and
25:44
out of it now he's he's fully alert and you can see
25:46
his eyes are wide open
25:47
he's screaming screaming
25:50
he's screaming and senator
25:52
waxman as this is happening it's it's just it seems
25:54
to be a slow process but it starts
25:56
you starting to sort of stand up a little
25:59
more
25:59
Little more straight You
26:02
know he's making me extremely uncomfortable
26:06
Yeah, so this is this is what's happening it seems to be
26:10
You know it's not an instant process, so it's still going
26:12
on and
26:13
You're gonna just you're gonna sit there and watch this or what are you gonna? Do
26:16
there any like power cables or anything
26:19
like running through the corridor? Not
26:22
through the corridor. No the corridors quite sparse. I
26:24
think if there were anything powering the machine it would all be
26:26
within the room
26:30
Ahhh! I
26:33
want to do something but I don't know if we go in there
26:35
is that gonna
26:38
I mean we could just go in so how heavily armed are these doctors
26:40
gonna be? Yeah, can I can I see
26:43
properly how? Yeah, give me
26:45
a notice wrong. Yeah to scope out
26:47
these these men in white
26:49
clothes
26:51
Okay five
26:55
Okay, yeah, you look at these these two they're
26:57
dressed in hospital scrubs and
26:59
coats They do not appear to be armed okay I would
27:01
also
27:01
like to do another notice check
27:04
with a mirror and look in the
27:06
mirror and check out their reflections and
27:08
see if they are
27:09
also Yes Just
27:11
a double check Okay, yeah, yeah,
27:14
yeah Okay,
27:17
yeah four okay. No
27:19
these are regular looking dudes. Okay. We
27:21
gotta do something then We can take these
27:23
guys yeah We've got the
27:25
cover of the screaming right like so I feel like
27:28
if there's any way to stealthily
27:30
attack people Is there like an advantage to
27:33
attacking stealthily? Yeah, so they
27:35
would both be distracted which means they were subtract
27:37
two from their roles Okay, they're
27:39
both looking at the tubes and they have their back
27:41
to the door. Okay
27:43
Well, I'm gonna
27:45
sneak up and I'm gonna look for something heavy
27:48
to clump them over the head with Or
27:50
at least one of them Yeah,
27:52
so there's two doctors or other for two
27:55
doctors. So it's four people in the room to them. Yes Yeah,
27:57
two of them are in tubes. Yeah Yeah,
28:00
if you take one and take the other, we try and do
28:02
this. Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
28:06
I want you to both make me
28:07
fighting rolls then. Mm-hmm. I
28:09
want to go fighting. We got
28:11
D6 and fighting. Uh... I
28:14
want to do it. I do have a D6. I
28:16
did think this was really good. I did
28:18
not roll with the test. Neither
28:23
did I. Okay.
28:27
So, you're rushing into the room. Yeah.
28:30
Looking to punch these guys. I look for something heavy and I get a
28:32
bedpan for some reason.
28:32
Yeah, and I've got one of those like kidney
28:35
bowl things. Yeah. Just
28:37
to go... Pull. But... Both
28:40
miss. Okay. We
28:42
both miss and we end up high-fiving. They're fighting
28:44
the bedpan. Okay. Well,
28:47
this is very surprising to these two...
28:50
to these two orderlies. They
28:54
don't know what to do. They're not armed and they're not, you know,
28:56
here for a fight. They're like...
28:59
So, there's a brief moment of panic
29:01
and they're like, who are you? What do you
29:03
want? Stop the machine. Can't stop the machine.
29:06
We're in the middle of the transfer. I
29:08
think you should. What
29:10
happened if we stopped it now? Okay,
29:13
intimidation roll. Oh,
29:15
God, I don't have intimidation. I
29:18
have persuasion. It
29:22
was going to be persuasion until he said, you better listen to
29:24
the lady.
29:25
Oh, man.
29:27
Well, I failed that one. Okay.
29:30
All right. So, you got two... I
29:32
got two fours. Two fours. Okay. I'm
29:35
going to roll for... And I have... I don't
29:37
have intimidation. So, do I minus
29:39
two from that? You minus two. So, I've got
29:41
two. You've got two.
29:43
Okay. Okay, one of them rolled a one. Yeah. The
29:46
other rolled a three. So, one of them is
29:49
intimidated. Silas, are you going to try and... Yeah. The
29:52
other one? I'm going to look at the other one. Who looks like his spirit
29:54
hasn't been broken yet? Okay.
29:57
Not a meta game. And I'm going to say, I
29:59
said you...
29:59
better listen to the lady okay
30:02
what have you wrong I will
30:04
roll well I got a four
30:07
and
30:11
four okay yep that's a success as well
30:14
even though I don't have it intimidation oh
30:16
you subtracted to you know that's without
30:18
subtracting to so I guess it's a two in a two two
30:21
in a two all right one of them is still unintimidated
30:26
these guys it looks to his looks to
30:28
his friend who's like okay okay okay and his friend
30:30
goes over to that what are you doing sir
30:32
it's fine we're
30:35
here for your benefit that
30:38
sounds persuasive yeah
30:40
I've got a seven okay all
30:50
right
30:54
so yeah these two are you
30:56
there wary one scared of
30:59
me okay one is scared of you
31:03
I'm attractive it is the doctor
31:06
that I'm trying to persuade a man yes right
31:09
so I plus what's I've got an eight
31:12
okay fine well he's not sure what's
31:15
going on but he likes the cut of your gym so
31:18
okay okay okay
31:20
they pull the lever and the
31:22
sort of
31:23
the crackling stops and inside the
31:25
inside the tube senator
31:27
wexman's like what's going on why you stopped it
31:30
still still car do
31:32
you got a bloody cough
31:34
mm-hmm well I'm sorry
31:37
sir but are you aware
31:39
that the man and the other tube over here is
31:41
also a human being
31:43
yes
31:45
yes I'm aware senator wexman like the steps out
31:47
now
31:48
yes I'm aware he's a human without ten
31:51
thousand dollars so
31:54
that's why he's in that side I'm in this side
31:57
real asshole Excuse
32:00
me Listen here, man.
32:03
I am a United States senator young man.
32:05
I didn't vote for you I'm
32:07
gonna try and push him back into the team Yeah
32:11
fight fight me fight
32:13
role
32:14
fighting role
32:19
That is a six Great
32:23
Cool. Yeah, you shove
32:26
So that's a success with a raise. Yes. Okay,
32:28
you shove Waxman hard in the chest and
32:31
he sort of staggers backwards and banks His head
32:33
on the back of the
32:34
glass tube. Yeah, and he's not unconscious. Okay,
32:36
I'm gonna shut the tree All right, and does it have
32:38
a throw into reverse thing?
32:43
Reversing no, I think you would have to swap them around
32:47
but yeah the the orderlies sort
32:49
of seeing all this and they're like I Don't
32:52
think this is about their pay grade. Yeah So
32:54
they're like they're just sort of backing off at the moment What
32:57
would you like to do? I'm gonna can I just like
33:00
jam the tube with something like the handle?
33:13
Mr. Crow, right
33:16
I'm just thinking if we put her Just
33:20
in case I'm down here Persuader
33:23
in sure But
33:26
I was yeah, I was just gonna temporarily just
33:28
like jumps in the handle just he's out Fine
33:33
um
33:34
you two where's the crow
33:37
They sort of look at each other Director
33:42
yeah the director. She's
33:44
down in the down in the basement. I
33:47
know what he go down there Why is that?
33:50
Directed the crow says no disallow down there
33:54
We're not gonna. We're not gonna disobey
33:56
direct order from directed the crow. Why what
33:58
might happen? Well, I
34:01
mean...
34:01
Did they
34:03
gesture at the chief with the
34:05
sick eye? I mean,
34:07
I've heard rumors. The
34:11
person in the other tube, by the way now, is sort of conscious
34:13
of my weekly... I
34:15
saw blinking and they don't look in a good way. But
34:18
they are sort of awake. Okay.
34:22
Um... Yeah.
34:27
If I were to disturb
34:30
Director Crowe, to Crowe, how
34:32
would I get down there?
34:35
Well, there's a door... And
34:39
it sort of looks at the other one. It's like...
34:42
The one who was not convinced earlier is like this. It's
34:44
like... So,
34:47
yeah,
34:48
he's not feeling great about this. He's
34:50
like... Uh,
34:53
no. I
34:55
told you where it is. It's not
34:58
worth my life to tell you how to get down there. Not
35:00
worth your lives.
35:03
Intimidation. Um,
35:08
I really should have packed intimidation,
35:11
generally, on my cheap... You're
35:14
gonna go around intimidating people. Yeah,
35:15
you're an angry guy. You're gonna need
35:17
it.
35:20
And that is a 3 and
35:22
a 2 minus a 2. So,
35:25
it's not working. I'm gonna try and stay. So,
35:28
we are here with some very
35:31
important news for Duchro.
35:34
And it cannot
35:36
be heard by anyone else but her.
35:40
And it's imperative that
35:43
we see her immediately and
35:45
it's for her own safety. There
35:47
are some people after her.
35:50
And we need to tell her the details.
35:53
Okay, so you're talking to the... The
35:56
one who's persuaded by... Um, yeah, okay.
35:59
Let's, we'll let that ride. So
36:03
he says, okay,
36:05
I shouldn't be telling you this, but the
36:08
painting in the foyer is behind the painting.
36:13
Door down to the basement. Thank you, can't.
36:16
Thank you, sir. I will remember
36:18
this. He's all blushes.
36:21
He's all blushes. Come on. If
36:24
he wasn't a terrible person, this would be adorable. I
36:27
will remember this. I think quietly in my
36:29
head. I'm saying
36:31
it nicely, but in my head, I'm like, I will kill
36:33
you later. Okay.
36:37
Yeah, so you're in the room with this orderly,
36:41
the man in the right hand tube, Senator Waxman
36:43
in the left hand tube. That's
36:45
all the people in this room. Yeah. So what
36:47
do we do? So we want to get to the painting, but do we want to leave
36:49
these two orderlies here? Two orderlies.
36:52
Two orderlies? There only appears to be one orderly.
36:56
Suddenly you hear, a
36:59
door slams down from the ceiling. He
37:01
was intimidated.
37:03
I think he was unintimidated. So
37:07
he, yes, you look around
37:09
the room and you realize that the other orderly has in fact
37:11
slipped out of the room while you were talking to the other one. And
37:14
some sort of security alarm
37:16
has been triggered. All right.
37:19
So are we secured in this room now?
37:22
I mean, the door is down.
37:24
Right. There's a sort of metal
37:27
shutter that's dropped from me. Oh,
37:30
so we're trapped in. So you're in the room.
37:32
I mean, well, I don't know.
37:33
Are you? Okay. I
37:36
want to do a notice, look
37:38
around, see if I can find vents,
37:41
anything. There's that speaker system. Let's
37:44
see if anything.
37:44
We can't do the speaking tube. Just
37:46
see if there's anything. Okay. Do
37:49
me a notice roll. I guess I'll do a notice roll
37:51
as well. Okay, so we've got a six and a four.
37:53
Yeah. Okay.
37:55
I saw something. I
37:58
got a full.
38:00
Okay, so you look around the room you do
38:02
see there is sort of a
38:04
Sort of metal air vent that
38:06
is running along the back of the room and seems
38:09
to lead out of the room You
38:11
also notice the man in the right hand tube is sort of
38:13
weakly banging on the glass saying
38:15
please please
38:17
please
38:19
And senator waxman is still unconscious
38:21
and the other orderly is sort of combing
38:23
his hair and
38:28
We don't we really don't have time to like drag
38:31
waxman into the other tube and Do
38:34
we I don't know how long would it take
38:37
the alarm is going but there doesn't seem to be any Great
38:39
urgency doesn't say yeah, no one is like you don't hear
38:41
footsteps doesn't seem to have
38:43
running like I said It is quite a sparsely populated
38:46
hospital. All right, you know what?
38:48
Should we swap them? Yeah, let's just sort them. Mm-hmm
38:50
I'm
38:52
not gonna touch the Old
38:54
guy because like you may be severely
38:57
infectious. I'm gonna open the tube and like
39:00
Yeah,
39:04
yeah do a quick so true, okay. Yeah, that's
39:07
yeah, that's pretty
39:09
straightforward I'm gonna make you roll for that and you're
39:11
gonna throw the switch Okay.
39:14
Yeah, you throw the switch and you watch the
39:16
process you saw earlier basically in reverse,
39:18
right? But the The man
39:20
who was sort of emaciated and wizened
39:23
and covered in boils and stuff He starts to
39:25
it's you know, it takes a couple of minutes. Um, but
39:28
you basically watch him Just
39:30
dramatically come back to life.
39:32
He sort of straightens up his skin clears up, right? He
39:35
looks less gaunt whereas
39:37
Waxman Goes the
39:40
other direction. He's unconscious. So he's not screaming but
39:42
it's it's like watching a melting candle
39:49
It's not great Yeah
39:55
There's a sort of ping sounds like
39:58
microwave just finished
39:59
The man steps out of the left
40:02
hand shoe and he's like, oh
40:06
my goodness, thank you so much. That's
40:09
good. I'd like to also jump
40:11
in the shoe and
40:12
try to do it again. Yeah, yeah,
40:14
go for it. All right. Let's hit
40:16
the switch. This
40:19
takes less time. Yeah.
40:21
Yeah, Edie, as you go in there,
40:24
yeah, you feel sort of
40:27
the wound on your arm that you bandaged earlier
40:29
and was feeling better. It just completely closes up,
40:32
stops feeling hot. And the persistent cough that had
40:34
just started has cleared up. suddenly
40:36
your chest doesn't feel tight anymore. And
40:39
the puddle in the other tube just bubbles a bit, presumably.
40:42
This is the straw
40:44
that the wax comes back because yeah,
40:46
he's just, his
40:49
face slows off his skull. And
40:53
yeah,
40:54
a bright pink skeleton,
40:57
sort of just peeks forward and collapses
41:00
against the glass. So yeah, I think
41:02
Senator Waxman is all used up. Yeah.
41:05
Waxman melted like a candle. Yeah.
41:08
Ironic
41:09
death. There you go. Yeah.
41:15
Didn't see that one coming. I didn't see it. Right.
41:20
Who are you and can you fight? My
41:24
name is Robert. I
41:26
was, I lived in
41:28
town. I was a locksmith, but-
41:32
You saw skills. Well, not
41:35
yet. You'd have thought so, but one night I was,
41:38
I was asleep in my home and
41:42
someone crawled in through the window. He's
41:45
overpowered me, had some sort of mask on. Next
41:48
thing I knew I woke up, I was here in the hospital
41:50
and they would bring in these
41:53
wealthy, sick men.
41:55
As I'm sure you've realized now, this machine transfers
41:58
the disease from one person to another.
41:59
So I've been
42:02
filled with all the cancers
42:04
and the tuberculosis and the poxes that
42:07
all these wealthy men can afford to have
42:09
taken out of them. They just, they would, they
42:11
called us receptacles. They would dump all this disease
42:14
into us until we were too full to survive. And
42:16
then they just take the bodies down
42:18
the corridor, burn them in the furnace.
42:20
It's, I don't know how long I've been here,
42:23
but thank you so much for saving
42:25
me. You're welcome. I was a death storm.
42:29
But now you can help us. Yes,
42:32
sorry. What would you like? We
42:34
need to get to direct the
42:36
crow. Oh, yeah.
42:39
I don't know where she is. I'm sorry. I never
42:42
saw the director. I just, I hear her on the...
42:45
Well, apparently she's in the basement
42:48
and the entrance is behind the painting
42:50
in the reception.
42:51
I know, and I saw it. Yeah, I've seen
42:53
it. These
42:56
speaking tubes, are
42:58
they literally a series of tubes?
43:01
As far as I'm aware, I mean, I don't know. I've
43:03
just, I see the tubes. Yeah, I'm
43:05
more asking metal, metal wise, but
43:09
presumably they're two way. Like you
43:11
could, if you say something into one of the speaking
43:13
tubes, is it heard throughout the hospital? Maybe.
43:19
I'm going to turn back to the... They're
43:21
sort of, they're not... So
43:24
the ones in the rooms that you've seen are more like
43:26
grills in the water. Okay, they're not like
43:28
a, you know, not focused. Yeah, but
43:30
I mean, if you shouted something into it, it might, you know,
43:33
I don't know. If we can get the orderly
43:35
to request the presence
43:37
of director to crow, she
43:39
might come down here. And
43:43
we could have two ironic
43:46
deaths. We could
43:49
do. Do we
43:49
have anyone else with a disease or would we
43:51
have to pick up that skeleton?
43:55
We put her in, and
43:57
then... I
43:59
don't know. That's the plan. Really the
44:01
bullets. Yeah. Can
44:10
we persuade the orderly to get her down
44:12
here? We
44:16
could do, or do we want to go down to the basement?
44:18
Or is that, do you think? I'll
44:23
try the orderly, and then if it doesn't work,
44:25
we'll find a way past the reception. Excuse
44:30
me, sir. Go up to the... Excuse me, sir.
44:33
What? I didn't get your name. It's
44:35
William. Oh, William. What a
44:37
sweet name. Sweet William, they call
44:39
me. Yeah. He's such a sweet boy. Could
44:44
you, we really need to get
44:48
Duchro to
44:49
here. We need to see her. Would
44:52
you be able to request her to come here
44:54
and help us work out
44:56
what to do with this situation here? Director
44:59
Duchro doesn't come up here. She stays down
45:02
in the basement. That's how it works. Is
45:05
she never on these floors ever? Is
45:07
she only ever in the basement?
45:09
From what I've seen. Is
45:13
there any way she could be persuaded to
45:15
come out? Do a
45:18
persuasion roll, please. More
45:20
persuading. Oh,
45:24
I've got an eight. And
45:28
a six. Okay, yeah, so that's... Wow, big
45:30
success. Stay
45:33
the same. So attractive.
45:37
So pretty. Okay,
45:39
Goose, yeah, that's... Yeah,
45:42
big success. I'll give you a Benny for that. Nice.
45:48
And I'm giving you a Benny mic for your Waxman. Yes, the Waxman
45:50
handle joke. That's great. I
45:53
enjoyed that. Good work. Two
45:55
Benning. Okay, yeah, I mean, he's trying to impress you
45:57
at this point. So he's like...
45:59
Well, yeah, me and Director DeCrow,
46:02
we're, you know, I'm the one that she
46:04
comes to for, you know. Of course. I'm
46:06
kind of her right hand. So reliable. So then
46:08
I... Yes. Yeah, I can... Oh, man,
46:11
and we are sort
46:12
of bangs on the metal. Kind
46:14
of locked down in here. I don't know if you heard this security
46:17
lock down. Yes. Yeah, I
46:19
could try shouting into the speaking
46:21
tube to see if... That would be
46:23
amazing.
46:23
That would be so great.
46:26
Director DeCrow, it's Sweet
46:28
William. Yeah. Please
46:31
come up to treatment room, Omega. For
46:36
normal things. Just
46:38
come up here, please. There
46:41
is a long silence. Then...
46:47
You hear a voice come over. It says, do
46:50
you really think that
46:52
during a security lockdown, I would leave
46:55
my office and come up to the
46:57
treatment room where the security lock
47:00
down was triggered from? Do you
47:02
think I am stupid? The
47:04
voice says. Bing-bong.
47:09
I guess it was a rhetorical
47:11
question. All
47:16
right, fine. All right, how do we override
47:18
this lockdown?
47:22
How big
47:24
are the speaking tubes again? As
47:26
I mentioned when we did the... There's an
47:28
air vent. Just an air vent. Plus, if
47:31
we went in there, should be able to hear everything we were doing.
47:37
So how about these air vents? What do they look like? They're
47:40
large industrial kind of air vents, fine to sort
47:42
of circulate air throughout the different rooms. You
47:45
could probably
47:46
fit in one if you were able to. You'd need to...
47:48
Inhale. Get into them. Well, you need to get
47:50
into them somehow. It's a closed tube,
47:53
so you would need to somehow get your way in. All
47:55
right, probably great. By looking at it, it looks sturdy.
47:58
You don't have to support your weight and it's big enough for you to...
47:59
I think that's plan number
48:02
one isn't it basically? Yeah. All right, I'm gonna
48:04
try and wrench the gray off the front of it to
48:07
get us in. Yeah, okay. Athletics check
48:09
please. Yeah, you got it. You
48:11
got it. That's
48:15
three and a two. Cool,
48:18
so you give it a tug. That's your
48:21
hat falls over your eyes again. The lights
48:23
again. You
48:25
tumble backwards. God damn, who keeps turning
48:27
off the lights? I've got
48:29
like a file. So
48:31
Edie's got a file with her. Like a nail file.
48:34
Like a rasp. Yeah,
48:37
I think just have a little go at some of the...
48:40
Give it a look.
48:42
Watch this guy. Robert.
48:46
Used to break it into places presumably. Do you mind if I call you Barbie?
48:50
That's fine. Well Barbie, could
48:53
you, you know, jimmy this album
48:55
for us? Oh yeah, so the gray is,
48:58
yeah, it's locked let's say to stop people
49:00
getting into it. Robert being
49:02
a locksmith. And
49:04
hail and hearty. Yeah, he doesn't even
49:07
need to roll for that. He does. Yeah,
49:09
he pings open the gray of
49:12
the entrance to the oven. Is there
49:14
anything we can give to Robert to arm himself?
49:17
Like any scalp walls or is there any kind of medical
49:19
equipment in here? No, they've cleared out all
49:21
the sort of actual medical equipment for
49:23
this machine. So there's, yeah,
49:26
there's nothing really, like I said, the orderlies weren't armed.
49:29
Yeah, but... Uh, Barbie? You
49:31
could give him a femur or something. Yeah. Pick
49:34
a bit of the, give the waxman skeleton out.
49:36
I don't think we'll do that.
49:37
Barbie, how are you with a gun
49:40
with a pistol? Oh. Middling.
49:44
Okay, and I just like to rustle up
49:46
again. And I'd like to pull
49:49
out, I've got a Wesandaga
49:51
pistol. Okay. Which
49:53
is the little gun that also has
49:55
a little knife that comes out the middle of it
49:57
when you... Like a baby Gizwold answer. Like you gotta go to
49:59
the...
49:59
And then it goes, like a
50:02
little assassin blade. So
50:05
yeah, I give him that so that he's got
50:06
something. Okay, he's armed.
50:10
All right, so you're gonna go try and get into the vent? Yeah.
50:13
Yep. Yes, please. Okay, so
50:15
how are you doing that? How are you getting? Because it is up on the
50:17
sort of, yeah, if you take a look at the room we're in, it's
50:19
basically running along, so it's about that
50:21
high. It's not like desperately high, but also it's
50:23
too high to just climb into.
50:25
Sweet William.
50:28
Would you be so kind as to help us up here? Okay,
50:31
William will give you a boost. Okay,
50:36
so William's gonna give you all a boost. Are
50:38
you gonna help William up into the vent as well? Or
50:40
are you gonna? No,
50:41
William, you need to stay here. It's
50:44
gonna be too dangerous out there, okay? And
50:47
I want you to stay here and stay
50:49
safe. Okay? I'll
50:51
do it. He says, eyes brimming with tears.
50:53
Eyes brimming with tears. Sweet
50:56
William will remain in treatment room omega. Okay,
50:58
you're in the vent. Considering the atrocities that he's committed,
51:00
maybe. Yeah.
51:02
Sweet William, I want you to work
51:04
on that sweetness and I want you to look at
51:07
that emaciated corpse
51:09
and think
51:10
how you helped create that.
51:13
You need to rethink your ways,
51:15
okay? Okay, Sweet William is
51:17
gonna make a fear check.
51:19
Okay, yeah, he has failed
51:23
that. He
51:25
looks at the corpse. He staggers
51:27
backwards into the corner and starts
51:29
gibbering. Fine. Yeah,
51:31
so Sweet William is panicked. Cool.
51:35
Okay,
51:35
let's get out of here before he does anything
51:37
panicky. Yeah, you're in a square shaped metal air vent,
51:44
such as you may have seen in movies.
51:47
Yeah,
51:49
you're moving through. It's quite noisy,
51:51
but it's, I mean, there's a silhouette. A
51:54
long going off, so it's not particularly
51:57
noticeable. It's even because the corridor
51:59
and stuff was just.
51:59
a sort of fairly straightforward layout. We know which
52:02
direction we're going in and we're heading back. Yeah, exactly.
52:04
You would just turn left and then you would be above
52:06
the corridor that you were in before. So there is another grate
52:09
over the corridor. Yeah, I'd like to put
52:11
my foot through it. Okay, athletics please.
52:14
Yep. Two
52:17
there, again, that is a five
52:19
and a one.
52:20
Okay, so that's one success. Okay,
52:23
one success. Yeah, you kick the grate and
52:27
the grate does come loose, but so does the section of the
52:29
event that you're in. And it sort of swings down
52:31
onto his bag. I
52:33
slide down my ass.
52:35
Yeah, you don't take
52:37
any damage, but you sort of just... You
52:39
go damage. ...bruised and dazed. Oh my...
52:42
There you go, Corin. But yeah, basically
52:45
the whole section there is just smashed down
52:47
into the corridor where you are out and into the
52:49
vents now.
52:50
You okay, Bobby? Oh,
52:53
you asked about him first, not me. Sal,
52:56
you caused it. You
52:57
get second dibs. I'm
53:00
okay, I'm okay, says Robert. He's, you
53:02
know, actually more okay than he's been in a long time.
53:05
This is an even... He's feeling great. Even
53:07
bruised and dazed is the real treat for Robert.
53:10
Yeah, so you're back in the corridor where you
53:13
started. We need to make swift... A
53:15
swift exit. Yeah,
53:17
all the doors are down with these
53:19
metal shutters.
53:22
Yeah, so what are you gonna... Heading towards the
53:24
exit of the treatment area where
53:26
we... Where you came in. Being metal shut.
53:29
Really?
53:30
That's what a security lockdown means.
53:33
Yeah. Right in the
53:35
furnace room, is that...
53:37
Well, I don't know if
53:39
we could... Well, we're on the floor
53:42
now, so we probably can't get back into the
53:44
vent. Yeah, sorry about that. I'm
53:48
gonna have a look around, see if there's anything else, like any other
53:51
cupboards or anything. No disorders. Yeah.
53:54
Can I do a nice stroll as well? Yeah. Okay,
53:59
two fours. I got two and a three. Two
54:02
fours? Cool. Someone spotted
54:04
something. Okay, so success with a raise
54:06
and you got zero. Yeah, no success.
54:09
Okay, so Silas, the fall from the vent has
54:11
caused your hat to become stuck over there. You're
54:15
struggling to remove it. Why
54:18
are the feathers the way to go? Edie,
54:22
you notice a board with
54:26
directions to the different rooms. So
54:29
there's like directly head through the double
54:31
doors, it has like morgue and crematorium.
54:34
And then to the right, there is like
54:37
more treatment rooms listed, but also security room is
54:39
listed down the right-hand corridor.
54:41
Security room down this way, down the right-hand
54:44
corridor. Let's go. Go turn
54:46
off all these alarms. So
54:49
where the other orderly is, yeah? Probably,
54:51
yeah, let's deal with that remotely as well. Yeah,
54:54
okay, so you're starting to walk towards the security
54:57
room. Like jog, I'd say probably. Okay, while
54:59
you're jogging, as you sort of round the corner, you almost bump
55:01
into the other orderly who's like, oh, geez!
55:05
Okay. Big mistake, pal. I
55:07
can explain. My
55:10
upper cut him. Fighting
55:13
roll, please.
55:15
I'm pissed.
55:19
Fine.
55:24
That is two fours. Okay.
55:27
Cool. Yeah, you upper cut him
55:29
out of his shoes. Does
55:31
his neck extend very briefly? He just
55:33
does a huge, like, he's
55:36
not a fighter. He
55:38
just is an orderly, so you have, yeah,
55:40
you have upper-cutted this orderly unconscious.
55:43
Nice. More like disorderly. Yeah.
55:48
Point him. Yeah, yeah. Right,
55:52
yeah, let's head to the security room. Okay. Yeah,
55:54
the security room is
55:56
at the end of the corridor. It has, similarly,
56:00
I shut through this down.
56:03
The... yeah,
56:04
so... You can sort of,
56:06
you can hear like some kind of...
56:09
some sounds coming from inside. From
56:12
inside the... From inside the scooter. Things
56:14
being moved around. Alright,
56:17
okay. Huh.
56:20
How about we like to bang like pretending to be
56:22
the warden? We like that comment.
56:25
Hahaha. It could work.
56:28
I don't have a better plan. Hahaha.
56:32
Do we do that? Hahaha.
56:36
Can I just try and wrench the shutter up? You can try. You
56:40
can try.
56:42
That's roll pretty well, right? Yeah, do an
56:44
athletics roll. Yeah,
56:46
okay. That
56:50
is a 6 and a 5. That is a 6 and a 5. Okay.
56:54
Roll that 6. And
56:56
another 6. And
56:58
a 4. Okay, alright,
57:01
so you put your fingers at
57:03
the very bottom of this shutter and you try
57:06
to sort of deadlift the door off the floor.
57:08
It is... It
57:10
is very... Down there.
57:13
You start to... you manage to sort of lift it an inch
57:15
or so off the ground. And
57:18
you can hear a lot better without the
57:20
shutter there. You hear someone like, what's going
57:22
on out there? Whose got... what is this?
57:24
Security lockdown? What are that? What
57:27
is... who's there? Lockdowns
57:29
over you old bastard. Who are you?
57:33
Sweet William. Is that
57:35
you Sweet William? Yes, Sweet
57:37
William. Did I recognize
57:40
my voice? No I don't. Don't
57:42
sound a bit like Sweet William. What happened to you? Cancel
57:45
a goddamn lockdown. I
57:47
don't know who you are, sir. I don't
57:49
take orders from no ice, except direct
57:52
to Crow and also many of the odd leaves,
57:54
but you ain't them. You
57:59
ain't Sweet William. I know. Your
58:02
voice is different. I
58:04
assure you, I'm Sweet William. Sweet
58:06
William. Let's tell Sweet William. She's too
58:08
sweet to become bad like you is, sir.
58:16
He's seen something, sir.
58:19
I'm a change, I'm changed. I
58:21
saw a guy melt. All
58:24
right, what's your Sweet William? Then tell
58:26
me, what is Sweet William's favorite
58:28
lunch? My
58:31
favorite lunch is a beautiful
58:34
packed lunch with it upon a hummus.
58:38
And I got it right here with me. I'm
58:40
gonna slide my lunch thing under the door. Okay.
58:45
My momma packed it for me. All right, do me a persuasion
58:47
right now. I do have a
58:49
persuasion, yeah. I
58:54
just got a six and a... I
58:57
just got a six and a... Roll
58:59
it again. Okay,
59:01
roll it again. And another six.
59:03
And a one. You'll
59:06
remember that I ate all of the hummus, which
59:08
is exactly what Sweet William did, don't you? Well now, Sweet
59:11
William, will you tell me your momma been making
59:13
even them packed lunches again? You
59:16
know my momma. Well, I don't know
59:18
what has gone into you, Sweet William, but let me just get
59:20
this door up here real quick. The
59:24
door goes sridgeling back up into there. I ropey tackle you. Oh
59:26
no, it's not Sweet William
59:29
at all.
59:30
Okay,
59:32
fight him off, please. The
59:34
manual tackling... He's just standing
59:37
there like... It
59:40
worked, didn't it? Okay.
59:42
All right, fighting roll. The manual tackling is wearing
59:45
a security guard uniform. He is about 90 years old. So
59:48
you're away. It shouldn't be too hard. Well,
59:50
you say that, but I rolled two twos. Two
59:53
twos. Okay. Okay, all
59:55
right, I'm gonna make this an oppose roll. But
59:58
he is extremely weak.
1:00:00
He's 90, so... Okay,
1:00:03
he rolled a 4, so he is actually
1:00:06
starting
1:00:06
to get better with you. He's a world-bestie! He's
1:00:09
a fashion-curity-offish, you dang-ow-ho!
1:00:12
He... Care
1:00:15
to start it? I'm also gonna run the attack,
1:00:17
because I'm just like, I don't know what to do! Alright,
1:00:20
he's... I don't know, Salas, you just ran in! Do
1:00:23
the fighting roll. Okay,
1:00:26
3-6! Okay,
1:00:31
so you have beaten this 4-security-guard
1:00:33
fighting roll. What happens? As
1:00:37
I run in, I look for a chair, and I just
1:00:39
like... There's like a little
1:00:42
swivel chair that he sits on, to sort of listen to the speaking cubes.
1:00:45
I tuck
1:00:45
him towards the chair, so that if he falls,
1:00:48
he just lands in the chair, and can just keep
1:00:50
him in the chair. Yeah, he falls backwards into the
1:00:52
chair, like... Weee! Into
1:00:55
the corner! Yeah,
1:00:57
so he slides over into the corner. I
1:01:00
surrender, I surrender!
1:01:03
I'm sorry, sir, but
1:01:05
there are some awful things happening here.
1:01:07
I don't know about any of
1:01:09
that, I just make sure the door's locked, and
1:01:12
everyone is paying attention to
1:01:15
the announcements and all whatnot. I
1:01:17
was told there's a security lock down, there's some... Ow-hoots
1:01:21
up in here, doing all...
1:01:23
bad things. Oh,
1:01:26
yeah, that was the senator. He...
1:01:29
Senator Waxman! Yeah, he
1:01:31
was awful. I
1:01:32
thought he was a good
1:01:35
pillar of a community, they told me. He
1:01:37
was a pillar of salt. He's
1:01:40
just awful. A pillar of salt? He's awful.
1:01:42
Oh, no. The worst human... He
1:01:46
was so rude to the staff, and he tried
1:01:48
to assault one of the staff. Who wouldn't do that? And...
1:01:53
and... Oh, my... And
1:01:55
he's, you know, poor Robin. Hey, do
1:01:57
you know Robin? Little Bobby, who does
1:01:59
the locksmith? in town? Well,
1:02:02
I know, yeah, I do know you, Robert.
1:02:04
You, yeah, you fixed my door for me last
1:02:06
Christmas. Yeah. Well, Senator
1:02:09
almost killed him. I
1:02:12
voted for that man. You shouldn't
1:02:15
have. Where is he now, this Senator Waxman?
1:02:17
I'll give him a piece of my mind. He's
1:02:19
on the other side, honey. The other side
1:02:22
of the door? Oh, I'll give
1:02:24
him one of these. If no, you'll
1:02:26
have to wait until your time, until
1:02:28
you can give him one of those.
1:02:29
Are we taking a number?
1:02:34
He's dead, honey. Oh
1:02:38
my. Well,
1:02:41
I suppose the alarm is over then. Yes.
1:02:44
I believe so. He gets up from the chair, goes
1:02:46
over to a big red button and hits it,
1:02:49
and the alarm's stopped, and all the shutters go
1:02:51
back up into the ceiling. Well,
1:02:55
who'd have thought it? A bad
1:02:57
politician. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha,
1:03:00
ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha,
1:03:02
ha, ha.
1:03:04
Now I've seen everything shaking. He's
1:03:07
shaking to his core. Wow. If
1:03:10
you could let
1:03:12
Mr. Crow know that the
1:03:14
security threat is over,
1:03:17
and that it was Senator, and
1:03:19
he's been dealt with, that
1:03:22
would be great. Oh,
1:03:24
okay. Just so that she can, you
1:03:27
know, be at ease. Return to her work.
1:03:30
And carry on with her duties.
1:03:34
Yeah, he writes a note on a piece
1:03:36
of paper, puts it into
1:03:38
a little canister,
1:03:40
and he placed it into a pneumatic tube. Shunk.
1:03:44
Takes it out of the room. All right.
1:03:47
I said back to the reception. All
1:03:49
right. Are
1:03:52
you taking Robert with you? Yeah, yeah.
1:03:54
We need all the hands we can get, I think probably. So
1:03:57
follow me, Barbie. Okay,
1:04:00
so yeah, it's pretty uneventful. It's not far you go back
1:04:03
down the corridor back down the stairs into the
1:04:05
sort of The main area again
1:04:07
this hospital is semi-deserted, so you don't
1:04:09
encounter anyone on the way and
1:04:11
you make it back to the
1:04:14
To the reception the receptionist the man
1:04:16
who you remember from earlier is stood at
1:04:18
the So the desk and it's
1:04:20
like what was
1:04:22
Going on with the center went crazy Oh
1:04:25
gosh,
1:04:26
he did not respond well
1:04:28
to treatment or to those trying
1:04:30
to help him with treatment We heard it all
1:04:32
we would just saw it now to our finances
1:04:34
down there. Wow. Yes, um, Tara
1:04:37
did everything work Okay with dr.
1:04:39
Harker. Yes, everything is all
1:04:42
in order. We have been booked in for tomorrow.
1:04:44
Oh wonderful wonderful I'll update the records Oh
1:04:51
Is there anything else um, yeah, I
1:04:53
was wondering if I could have
1:04:56
a hot tea Absolutely,
1:04:59
um, did you happen to see
1:05:01
sweet William? He usually fetches that oh,
1:05:03
oh He's
1:05:07
dealing with some things right now the senator really
1:05:09
went for him. Oh my goodness. He's not in
1:05:11
a good way. He's okay But
1:05:14
the poor boy, I think I think if
1:05:17
I found to have a Heart
1:05:20
drink to
1:05:20
quit. No, there's absolutely come you come
1:05:22
your nerves. Of course. Yeah, I'll be yes, of course. I'll be
1:05:24
right back Okay,
1:05:33
yeah, as I said, there are several paintings but
1:05:35
there is one that is sort of floor Yeah
1:05:37
to ceiling a very real dory. Yeah
1:05:41
Yeah, and if you look closer you can actually see a sort of scuff mark
1:05:43
on the on the floor in a sort of semi-circle
1:05:46
Let's crank that thing open Okay.
1:05:48
Yeah, you're just gonna
1:05:50
Just gonna grip it. Um, yeah Do
1:05:57
me a Notice
1:05:59
roll. Notice. Interesting.
1:06:02
Okay. That's
1:06:04
four and a four. Cool.
1:06:07
Six. No, four. Okay. Yeah. So
1:06:09
you sort of run your hand along the side of
1:06:11
the frame and there's a, you can feel a switch. Catch.
1:06:13
Okay. Yeah. So you push that in and it sort
1:06:15
of, it releases some kind of catch. Okay.
1:06:18
The painting swings open and
1:06:20
there is a staircase, sort
1:06:23
of spiral staircase down downwards.
1:06:25
And this is where this
1:06:28
floor looks extremely clinical and white and the
1:06:30
top floor looks a little more neglected. This
1:06:33
looks practically
1:06:35
medieval. Like
1:06:39
uneven stonework. Okay. Yeah.
1:06:42
That's the sort of vibe. Got it. It would look at that.
1:06:45
I would like to proceed very
1:06:46
quietly and cautiously. Okay.
1:06:49
You start to proceed down the staircase. We
1:06:51
will find out what happens down there after these
1:06:54
messages. Thank you to sponsor Misty

1:07:17
What's this? Oh, I'm just playing poker with
1:07:19
these incredible OxVenture cards. Look,
1:07:21
the playing cards backs have got an OxVenture
1:07:23
design. The front of them have got actual playing
1:07:25
cards stuff on them, like the King of Diamonds. That's a good
1:07:28
one. The box itself is premium
1:07:30
imitation leather. That's actually cardboard.
1:07:33
Check it out and go to the link in the description
1:07:35
of this video to get your own OxVenture
1:07:38
playing cards. They glide as softly as a cloud.
1:07:40
Look at that.
1:07:43
Has your lifelong dream been to
1:07:45
own an OxVenture Presents Deadlands t-shirt? If
1:07:48
so, that's kind of weird. We only announced it a few months
1:07:50
ago. You may have some
1:07:52
sort of precognitive gift, but the good news is
1:07:54
that it's now a thing that can happen.
1:07:57
So finally, you can realize that
1:07:59
dream with... With this, the ox venture presents
1:08:02
Deadland's official t-shirts featuring
1:08:04
all of the characters. There's Jane, there's
1:08:06
Ellen, Mike's head's not
1:08:08
that big in real life, nor is Johnny's
1:08:10
character that small. It's called perspective,
1:08:13
it's an artistic tool, alright? So just...
1:08:17
you know about that. There's no need to get
1:08:19
upset about it. It's normal. Alright,
1:08:21
so check this out in the outside
1:08:24
Xbox store, go to the link in the description of this video,
1:08:26
or check out the merch shelf underneath the video. So
1:08:28
check it out today, get a Deadland's
1:08:29
t-shirt, and be the coolest cowboy
1:08:32
in town. So you reach the bottom
1:08:34
of the staircase, and as
1:08:36
I said, it is much less splendid
1:08:39
down here than the levels above
1:08:41
ground. It's almost more like a mine
1:08:44
down here. You can hear
1:08:46
the kind of telltale screech
1:08:49
of ghost rock
1:08:51
down here.
1:08:52
And even, like you can even see
1:08:54
it, there's like deposits poking out of the wall. It seems
1:08:57
like someone has discovered a rich
1:08:59
seam down here.
1:09:01
And it's... you're in a corridor,
1:09:05
but it's a corridor that slopes downwards, and there are
1:09:07
no other doors except one set of doors
1:09:10
at the end of this corridor. And those, it
1:09:12
must be said, are
1:09:13
quite ornate. They're oak with brass
1:09:15
handles, and are sort of...
1:09:18
there's like a
1:09:20
filigree D for the handle. So
1:09:25
yeah, that's basically all that's down here. I
1:09:28
guess we're going through the door, right? I mean, we're not
1:09:30
going to knock, so...
1:09:32
I'd like to
1:09:34
do... is there a keyhole
1:09:37
on the door? There
1:09:39
is not a keyhole on the door, no, there is
1:09:41
just a door handle. Is there any way to
1:09:44
sort of ascertain what's
1:09:46
going on in the room behind without opening the door?
1:09:48
A little... listen, or... I don't
1:09:52
know, you could try opening it slightly and see
1:09:54
if it opens. I would like
1:09:56
to open it slightly. You
1:09:58
could try sliding your mirror around. maybe yeah okay
1:10:01
do me a stealth okay you get to the door you try to
1:10:04
slide your
1:10:13
mirror
1:10:16
under but the door is flush to the ground you know it doesn't
1:10:18
fit underneath all right
1:10:21
I'm gonna yeah I'm gonna try and stealthily open the door
1:10:26
stealth roll to see how quiet it is yeah
1:10:29
pretty quiet so got six okay
1:10:31
under three all right you silently
1:10:34
was that six on six six six
1:10:36
on a six I say sorry yes six on a six
1:10:41
yeah so absolutely
1:10:44
silently the slides
1:10:46
open
1:10:48
revealing a sort of sparsely furnished room there
1:10:51
is desk and Daisy de Croix
1:10:53
is sat at the desk staring directly at you
1:10:55
it's like very silent door opening
1:10:58
well done thank you kindly
1:11:10
I then reopen it yes
1:11:14
she's sat behind the desk
1:11:16
there are sort of papers and things arranged around
1:11:18
there there are large stacks
1:11:21
of
1:11:24
medical documents yeah like lined up
1:11:26
around her again she
1:11:28
has her head is shaved she
1:11:30
has very high cheekbones very sort
1:11:33
of dark eyes and dark complexion
1:11:35
and she's wearing them it's like a hood
1:11:38
over her head this sort of flows into a cape
1:11:40
that goes down her back okay she
1:11:46
has a speaking tube on her desk
1:11:47
mm-hmm says dr.
1:11:50
Harker to the basement please dr.
1:11:53
Harker
1:11:57
he's otherwise engaged I
1:12:00
see. I'm
1:12:03
sorry, who are you and why are you in my hospital?
1:12:07
We're just here to collect debt
1:12:10
from a friend of ours.
1:12:12
I think you know who. I see.
1:12:15
And
1:12:17
how much exactly have you seen here
1:12:19
in the hospital? Absolutely everything.
1:12:23
I see. And
1:12:26
I don't suppose you could be persuaded to
1:12:28
look the other way? Not
1:12:30
this time. What
1:12:34
we do here seems
1:12:36
monstrous to some. Me
1:12:39
and her and also this guy. Oh,
1:12:43
did you bring Robert with you? Robert is
1:12:45
just maybe he's just in the doorway a bit
1:12:47
like. For
1:12:50
want any part of this, are
1:12:52
you making him come in or are you letting him hang
1:12:54
back? He owes us, right? He's
1:12:56
like he needs to help
1:12:59
fight. Okay. All
1:13:01
right. Yeah, Robert's in the room with you. People
1:13:04
without vision. Yes. Hey,
1:13:07
my hat fell off my eyes like three
1:13:09
times.
1:13:10
That's it. Really,
1:13:20
it is for the greater good. For
1:13:22
example, you have
1:13:25
a trolley. It is going
1:13:27
towards five people. You can pull
1:13:29
a lever. It goes towards one person.
1:13:33
Would you not pull the lever? You
1:13:35
wouldn't pull the lever if the one person
1:13:38
gave you ten thousand dollars, though, would you? The
1:13:40
money is pleasant,
1:13:44
but not important. You can put the diseases
1:13:46
of five, six people into one and
1:13:49
they go on living. The
1:13:51
one has made a glorious
1:13:53
sacrifice. We appreciate what they do
1:13:55
enormously. They are heroes.
1:14:00
Bobby, did you feel much like... This, like, and this, Robert visibly
1:14:03
bristles. Yeah. I don't
1:14:05
think Bobby feels like much of a hero when he was stuck
1:14:07
in that tube. He felt more like an
1:14:09
experiment, I'd imagine. Sorry,
1:14:12
Bobby, if this is not pleasant here
1:14:14
again. No offense to your
1:14:16
friends, but these people
1:14:18
are not doing anything with their lives.
1:14:21
They're living. We give them purpose.
1:14:25
We fill them with disease, and
1:14:27
then they pass away. Take
1:14:30
the disease with them. It is beautiful in a way.
1:14:33
You need to give them a choice.
1:14:37
What if we put you in the tube? I
1:14:39
will give you a choice. You can
1:14:41
get out of my office, or I can kill
1:14:43
you. Those strong
1:14:46
words. Yeah, yeah. For
1:14:49
someone only used to poison. Eyes
1:14:53
of narrow... And she draws a
1:14:56
large...
1:14:56
It's
1:14:59
an unusual contraption. It looks like a sort of auto-injector.
1:15:02
It's a
1:15:02
pistol-grip syringe that she's holding.
1:15:05
She draws it from behind the desk, and
1:15:07
she says, Very well. And now we're
1:15:10
going to get into... Let's
1:15:12
dance! All right. Two
1:15:16
for Silas. God dang. Three
1:15:19
for Edie. Six for Robert. Oh,
1:15:23
good old Bobby. And a seven for
1:15:25
Davey. Such a tight spread
1:15:28
of cards. Dang. Everyone's
1:15:30
like... No
1:15:33
one really cares. Okay,
1:15:35
interesting. Right, cool. Let's start with
1:15:37
Daisy then. Do we have
1:15:39
to? Yeah, we sure do. All
1:15:42
right, Daisy
1:15:43
stands up from behind the
1:15:45
desk that she sat behind. She sort of adjusts
1:15:48
her hood, shakes
1:15:50
her arms out, and then she starts... Her
1:15:53
eyes sort of roll back in her head, and she's going to try and cast
1:15:56
a spell. So... Roll
1:15:58
this, that is.
1:16:00
That is a success on the spell casting
1:16:02
roll and the spell that she is casting
1:16:04
here is fear
1:16:08
So I'm gonna need you all to make
1:16:10
a fear check. All right That's
1:16:13
a spirit roll That's
1:16:18
three and one but I'm gonna spend
1:16:20
it Benny, that's one and a one But
1:16:25
I have I have you
1:16:27
better have something good. I have
1:16:29
the guts Perk
1:16:32
so I can reroll on fear
1:16:34
checks. Okay Okay,
1:16:40
I got five and a seven nice that's it
1:16:42
I'm spending Benny I'm gonna reroll cuz that was rubbish
1:16:47
That is also rubbish I'm gonna
1:16:50
spend a bunny and I'm gonna reroll Deep
1:16:52
into it now There
1:16:55
we go. That's a six Okay,
1:17:00
so you both passed the fear
1:17:02
check Robert
1:17:05
no Roberts Roberts
1:17:09
has not passed the fear check and
1:17:11
he's not a wild card either. So he is currently panicked
1:17:13
Okay,
1:17:17
so Being panicked
1:17:20
Robert immediately moves his full pace plus
1:17:22
the running die away from the danger and is
1:17:24
shaken He's basically gonna sprint start
1:17:27
to sprint back up the corner He's
1:17:30
shaking so he's starting to run towards the
1:17:32
way out he's full on is he out of combat
1:17:35
now he's I Mean,
1:17:37
I guess you could roll a shake and he would yeah,
1:17:39
he would have to unshake Yeah, but he's
1:17:41
moving himself out of combat currently you
1:17:44
both have passed so that's fine It's
1:17:46
Robert's go
1:17:47
so I'm gonna try and unshake yeah
1:17:51
There's a one he's continuing
1:17:57
Yeah, so he didn't like that pistol too much So
1:18:00
it was ED. Drop
1:18:03
the pistol. Right,
1:18:07
yeah, ED is gonna get the
1:18:10
Sword of Winchester out again, I think.
1:18:12
Okay. And just go for
1:18:15
a shot, if possible. Okay.
1:18:17
Are you shooting anywhere in particular or just? No,
1:18:20
just going for it. I've got a 4,
1:18:22
so that's hit. And
1:18:25
then it's 2d8 times 1, so that
1:18:28
is a 5, and
1:18:31
then 1, so 5. Okay, 5
1:18:33
damage does not exceed her toughness. So
1:18:36
yeah, you fire, but
1:18:39
the bullet goes through,
1:18:41
basically passes through the gap between her arm
1:18:43
and her body and makes
1:18:46
a hole in the cape, sort of, she's
1:18:49
like, and then sort of readjusts
1:18:51
her hood and then sort of looks back
1:18:53
at you. My
1:18:57
turn. You're go, Shyla. I am going
1:18:59
to call
1:19:02
my shot, and I'm gonna try and hit
1:19:04
the syringe.
1:19:05
Okay. What do I lose if
1:19:07
I call a shot? It depends
1:19:09
how hard the shot is. For this it would be sort
1:19:11
of minus 4 to the roll, I think. Well, I've got two
1:19:13
attempts at this, right? Because I've got two guns. Yeah,
1:19:17
two guns.
1:19:18
Okay. So that's a 6 and a 3, so
1:19:21
that's a miss.
1:19:23
I'm gonna try again with
1:19:26
the second shot. Oh
1:19:28
yeah, I got an 8 on the d8. So success.
1:19:31
Okay, and re-roll. Because
1:19:33
you got an 8. The d8 as well. Yeah.
1:19:36
Alright. So that's another 8. Great.
1:19:39
Keep
1:19:40
going. And a 4. Okay, so 20. So
1:19:42
yeah, yeah, that's tons of raises. Okay,
1:19:45
yeah, you describe what happens. So
1:19:47
I fired the first shot, it misses, but without
1:19:49
hesitating, I fired the other pistol
1:19:52
in my other hand. And having
1:19:54
got my eye in with the first one, calibrated
1:19:56
exactly by how much I missed, I've adjusted
1:19:59
the shot on the fly.
1:19:59
I'm gonna say. She moved
1:20:02
out of the way of the first shot into the second,
1:20:04
I think, as well. Yeah. Very good. Let it
1:20:06
follow you. Your bullet smashes through the glass
1:20:08
vial on the injector. There
1:20:12
was a sort of purple liquid in there, but that shatters
1:20:15
and sort of dispels, and the
1:20:17
injector is knocked out of her hand as well and sort of flung
1:20:19
across the room. Great.
1:20:20
Nice shot, Silas.
1:20:23
Thank you. All right, let's round
1:20:26
two. Oh. Silas,
1:20:30
Edie, Robert, Daisy.
1:20:34
Okay, Silas with the eight. Nice.
1:20:36
I'll take that. Four for Edie.
1:20:40
Robert on a nine.
1:20:42
Daisy on the ace. Oh!
1:20:47
Damn it!
1:20:48
Okay, yeah, Daisy is sort
1:20:52
of, looks furiously. It's the
1:20:54
shattered injector on the floor. Complete
1:20:57
your retaliation. Uh-huh. So,
1:21:01
yeah, she just sort of shakes
1:21:03
her head and then moves back into that kind of spell
1:21:06
casting stance from before, and she
1:21:08
is going to, once
1:21:10
again, try
1:21:12
and cast a spell. Okay, yep, that's a success. So,
1:21:15
you're going to... Maddie's always seemed to roll so
1:21:18
much better than we do. Oh, no. Yeah,
1:21:22
that is not a raise. So, she
1:21:25
is going to cast the spell Bolt at
1:21:28
you, Silas. Okay.
1:21:33
Sounds good. Okay, that is... What's
1:21:36
your... Parry? Or
1:21:38
toughness? Probably parry or toughness. Probably toughness,
1:21:41
I think, because it's a projectile. Okay. Five.
1:21:43
Okay, that is one success.
1:21:46
So, she... The
1:21:48
injector is lying on the floor, but she sort of
1:21:50
holds her hands out like this and creates a sort
1:21:53
of cloud of, like, hypodermic
1:21:55
needles. And she just sort of fires
1:21:57
at you, and these tiny needles all sort
1:21:59
of...
1:21:59
Piss you at
1:22:02
once you do you don't take a wound,
1:22:04
but you are knocked down and shaken
1:22:07
okay? So these
1:22:09
the needles haven't gone very deep, but there's a lot of them yeah
1:22:14
It's very uncomfortable
1:22:17
out here
1:22:20
Who was next it was Robert right Robert? Yeah,
1:22:22
he's trying on he's still running. He
1:22:24
needs to unshake Okay,
1:22:27
yeah, Robert's gonna come back in nice And
1:22:30
he's gonna try and shoot Daisy. What's
1:22:32
the damage on that pistol you
1:22:33
know it's it's 2d4. It's not
1:22:35
massive Hey,
1:22:39
a six hey, and a one so there's
1:22:41
one success so 2d4 damage Three
1:22:49
Three six yeah
1:22:51
that meets the toughness so he
1:22:55
levels his pistol that Daisy
1:22:58
fires a bullet it sort of slams into
1:23:00
her shoulder She sort of looks
1:23:03
at it angrily, but then Like
1:23:05
the wound seems to close up around the bullet.
1:23:08
She sort of snows a robber, but she is she
1:23:10
is shaken All right Yes,
1:23:14
okay. I need to unshake myself.
1:23:17
Yeah, so remind me how I do that
1:23:21
All
1:23:28
right It's gonna be the
1:23:30
twin pistols again It's gonna be the twin
1:23:32
pistols, but this time. I'm just aiming it sent
1:23:34
to mass not calling the shots I just want to
1:23:37
Unload bullets basically, so let's
1:23:39
do that Done the
1:23:41
one that's a five and three
1:23:43
success of all the damage
1:23:46
which is 2d6 plus one That's
1:23:49
a four and a four plus one
1:23:51
is nine
1:23:53
that's nine for the first one and then
1:23:57
second gun is one success
1:24:00
A four, and so I roll the damage again.
1:24:04
It's five and a six. Six
1:24:08
goes again, and a three. Five,
1:24:10
six, and three is 14, plus
1:24:13
the ninth in the original is 23. 23, okay.
1:24:17
So yeah, you fire off your shots, they
1:24:19
all slam into Daisy, and she
1:24:21
sort of gets knocked back against her desk,
1:24:24
and then just goes, hmm. And
1:24:26
you see the wounds in her close back
1:24:28
up again. Got
1:24:31
it. And she's like, seems
1:24:36
fine. No, no. No. No.
1:24:39
No. What can we do about this? Okay.
1:24:43
Yeah, so she straightens back up,
1:24:45
she goes back into spell casting pose, and then she just,
1:24:48
just so hood strikes her. Strikes
1:24:51
her fighting stance. She doesn't leave
1:24:52
the basement. Right. What
1:24:56
term of day is it? Oh,
1:24:59
it's middle of the night, I guess. What
1:25:01
time of day is it? Yeah, it was early evening
1:25:03
when you walked over here, so it's nighttime now. I
1:25:06
want to see if around the
1:25:09
place, there's
1:25:11
any like pencils, wooden pencils.
1:25:16
Yeah, sure, why not? I have
1:25:18
an inkling of what this thing might be, but
1:25:21
I don't, 100% know, just
1:25:23
I'm just going by basement, and they can heal up quick.
1:25:27
Yeah, I'm gonna
1:25:31
grab a pencil, take a run and try
1:25:33
and aim
1:25:36
for the heart. Okay, do me a
1:25:38
fighting roll. Against
1:25:40
how many? Your proficiency in pencils. Okay,
1:25:44
that's two threes. I'm gonna go for many.
1:25:49
Okay, five and a two, so I've got five. Okay,
1:25:53
I don't know what damage would be on
1:25:55
a pencil. But yes, just
1:25:57
say that this succeeds. Okay, so you drama.
1:25:59
Pencil into her chest. Yes, she
1:26:02
just goes
1:26:09
Breaks it off What are
1:26:11
you? Yeah, so you
1:26:13
as you as you rushed her so
1:26:15
that so the pencil went in but you did some you
1:26:18
sort of managed to It
1:26:20
pulled her hood slightly and again. She's just like
1:26:24
Sit back into place and she sort of pushes you off It's
1:26:27
like a vampire you idiot to be
1:26:29
fair. That is a real vampire voice. I just
1:26:31
say
1:26:34
Stories
1:26:36
those tale tellers tell us so okay,
1:26:39
that's everyone around a comment
1:26:48
It's a king Ten
1:26:52
for Edie King
1:27:03
Resume you want to go before Robert?
1:27:05
Yes, please. Yeah
1:27:07
Well having seen the sort of freak
1:27:10
out slightly about the hood
1:27:11
feels like you know, if there's a cheat code to
1:27:13
this boss fight I Probably
1:27:16
give me the cape So I'm
1:27:18
gonna rush in and try and like I don't know yank the hood
1:27:21
down and maybe even like pull the cape off
1:27:23
entirely Okay Yeah,
1:27:25
all right fine. Um do that sounds
1:27:27
like athletics to me. Yeah, that's cool.
1:27:29
Yeah
1:27:32
That is a six and one
1:27:38
Okay, so nine yeah, that's a success
1:27:40
with the raise and yeah this works
1:27:42
you run in and
1:27:44
So as I said, it's a sort of hood Flows
1:27:46
down her back into a cape that sort of young off her
1:27:48
shoulders and you just yank it off,
1:27:50
right? Yeah, so when
1:27:52
I say before that her head was shaved. Yeah,
1:27:55
I mean a lot
1:27:57
more so than you first actually realize
1:27:59
because The top of her skull is actually
1:28:01
missing and you can see her brain is
1:28:03
exposed at the back of her head. Whoa. So
1:28:06
it's about the size of a sort
1:28:08
of side plate of her skull is missing
1:28:10
and her brain is exposed. And she sort of like
1:28:13
moves to kind of try and grab the cape,
1:28:15
but you've already stashed it away. Nice. And
1:28:17
she just hisses and is now sort of
1:28:19
trying
1:28:21
to keep that away from you. Trying to point
1:28:23
her brain away from us. Yeah, basically.
1:28:25
Alright, so that was your go. Mm-hmm.
1:28:28
Robert is next.
1:28:31
Uh... Yeah, Robert's gonna
1:28:33
try and do a cold shot to her brain. Yes,
1:28:36
Robert. Stepping out to
1:28:38
the plate. I like it. I mean, he's
1:28:40
gonna have to ace this to see who he is. The
1:28:43
gun does also have a dagger on it if
1:28:45
he just wants to run up a go. Well, then,
1:28:47
okay, he'd... He'd roll a
1:28:49
two, so he's not getting anywhere near it. He
1:28:52
just sort of... Just fires off in the wrong direction.
1:28:54
So
1:28:54
Robert is no help.
1:28:57
Okay, well, I would
1:29:00
like to pull out from my boot a knife.
1:29:03
And kind of like... On
1:29:07
the top. Plunged into her brain. Into her brain. Alright,
1:29:09
well that is definitely a fighting rule. Yeah.
1:29:12
That's definitely a fighting rule. Yeah. Yeah,
1:29:17
that's a five and a five. Okay. And
1:29:20
then... You want me to damage on the knife? Knife,
1:29:23
knife, knife. Strength plus
1:29:25
D4. That's
1:29:27
a one.
1:29:28
And a
1:29:30
one.
1:29:31
That's not fair. So, yes. Um,
1:29:34
yeah. Can I do Benny to re-roll that one? You
1:29:36
can, yeah. You can re-roll damage. So
1:29:40
that's a three. All promising. That's a four. And
1:29:43
a one. Okay. Yeah, that
1:29:45
does exceed her toughness. I need
1:29:47
to go. I'm afraid she definitely
1:29:49
sort of parries the knife away from her
1:29:52
brain.
1:29:55
Um, yes, it's her turn.
1:29:57
Uh, she mad. She...
1:30:00
Very mad. Um, she, she's going to
1:30:02
spell cast again.
1:30:07
Okay. Yep, six,
1:30:09
that's fine. She is
1:30:12
going to, yeah,
1:30:15
why not? That's fun. Um. That's
1:30:18
always the ones that you want to hear from your GM. Why
1:30:21
not? That'd be fun. Yeah. Ha ha.
1:30:25
Anyway, it's been nice, uh. Very
1:30:27
nice to meet you. I really enjoyed
1:30:29
your company. Yeah, it was a good
1:30:32
time. I'm
1:30:34
doing a vigor roll for Robert here. Oh, Robert's
1:30:36
going to be explainable. Which is not passed. All right, Daisy
1:30:39
pulls a piece of her brain out of her head,
1:30:42
jams it into Robert's mouth. He
1:30:44
immediately starts convulsing and frothing
1:30:47
at the mouth.
1:30:49
Robert has just consumed lethal poison. Huh?
1:30:53
So yeah, he's, uh, I'm
1:30:55
removing Robert. From the
1:30:57
equation. From the equation. Yeah, the old Barbie.
1:30:59
Yeah, Robert's down.
1:31:02
Robert is incapacitated. That
1:31:04
was her go, so. End
1:31:06
of the round.
1:31:07
End of the round. Robert
1:31:11
in peace. Okay, Silas
1:31:14
with the queen. Yes. Let's
1:31:16
go. He did the nine. Okay, back
1:31:18
up.
1:31:19
Robert is out. No, he's dead. So I guess that's
1:31:22
Daisy, the queen. Oh, she's dead. Oh.
1:31:24
And what happens now? Because we're both on queens. Oh,
1:31:27
it's done by suit, so.
1:31:29
Let me check, which is the higher. Love
1:31:32
is the higher power, right?
1:31:36
Love is the higher power. Yeah. Love
1:31:38
is what we need. We've got to believe that, haven't we, folks?
1:31:40
Okay, yeah, so it goes Spade
1:31:43
Heart Diamond Club. Right, and what
1:31:45
suit was hers? She got diamonds, so
1:31:47
the heart goes first. Great. Okay,
1:31:49
what I would like to do is, I
1:31:52
feel like she's super dangerous while she's
1:31:55
able to move around in this fully
1:31:57
mobile. I actually have a set of handcuffs.
1:31:59
Okay, and I would like to try
1:32:02
and like Basically cuff her
1:32:04
hands together behind her back right so I'm behind
1:32:06
her because I like with the cape off basically
1:32:09
And I'd like to then like try and just
1:32:12
grab her arms and get the cuffs on her basically Yeah, okay,
1:32:14
something I've got some experience with doing obviously as
1:32:16
a former lawman. Yeah Let's
1:32:20
make this it's you know, it's athletic
1:32:22
isn't it? All right, here we go. I've got a belly
1:32:24
to spend if this goes badly
1:32:27
It went badly Will
1:32:31
be spending any last
1:32:33
one. Hope this works. Oh
1:32:36
Yeah, okay. I got a five and one. Okay.
1:32:38
No, that's just like yeah, let's let that happen All right, so you handcuffed
1:32:40
her hands behind it. Yeah. Yeah I'm hoping
1:32:43
this will like stop her from casting spells
1:32:45
and also jamming any bits of her poisonous brain
1:32:47
into people's mouths Yeah, you think it would like to
1:32:49
see less of that. I'll be honest. Yeah.
1:32:52
All right. Yeah that happens Cool. So
1:32:54
it's her turn now, right? It's her turn now. Okay, what
1:32:56
can she do immediately magic to handcuffs
1:32:58
up?
1:32:59
I don't think she can do that Let's
1:33:02
see. She can't use her hands, but she
1:33:04
can still talk right? So she's
1:33:07
gonna do one more spell casting role here
1:33:11
So that's one success, all right, so she said
1:33:14
she says some words in a tongue
1:33:16
that you don't understand
1:33:18
and then The room
1:33:20
is suddenly plunged into extreme
1:33:22
darkness It becomes almost
1:33:25
pitch black in here. You can still make out some
1:33:28
shapes and things It's not like total darkness,
1:33:30
but yeah, you would
1:33:33
call it dark in here You'll
1:33:35
be taking minus four penalty
1:33:38
to your rolls Minus
1:33:40
four, come on. Yeah. Sorry
1:33:42
If I were to light a match would that be
1:33:45
one action? Yeah, so
1:33:47
you have a match. Yeah, that would be
1:33:49
one action. You can still take other actions just at a penalty So
1:33:52
you would just you could dispel for you You
1:33:55
can dispel the darkness penalty, but
1:33:57
then you would take a multi-action penalty. Okay,
1:33:59
so what?
1:33:59
So it would be
1:34:02
minus two penalty to your first action. And
1:34:05
then minus four to one
1:34:08
over that and so forth in that order.
1:34:10
I'm gonna strike a match and
1:34:14
like she's somewhat incapacitated
1:34:16
right? Her hands are handcuffed behind her back and
1:34:18
she doesn't have a weapon. Yeah. What
1:34:20
I'd like to do is I and then I'd like to get
1:34:25
my Winchester out to
1:34:27
walk up. And just point
1:34:30
it on top of her head and go... Yeah,
1:34:33
let's see how that works. Alright.
1:34:36
You've got to bet one Benny left. Yeah,
1:34:39
but I don't need it. Or do I know I do need
1:34:41
it? That's a five so I need to get a six on that don't
1:34:43
I? This is minus two penalty.
1:34:46
Let's try it one more time. Come
1:34:49
on a six. Yes! Okay,
1:34:51
nice. Nice. And a
1:34:53
one so... Success. Okay, success.
1:34:56
Six and a one so seven so just one success. Roll
1:34:58
me damage. It's... Three.
1:35:08
Yeah,
1:35:16
I'm not sure how this happens but you are pointing
1:35:18
directly down into her exposed brain pan and for some
1:35:20
reason... It just goes click.
1:35:23
Yeah, the chamber jams. It's
1:35:26
the weirdest thing. Unfortunately,
1:35:28
no bullet comes out. Well,
1:35:31
since I'm still holding a match next to her
1:35:33
does that dispel the darkness? How
1:35:36
close are you two at the moment? I'm really near
1:35:38
to her because I just handcuffed her. I'm standing
1:35:40
right next to her. Yeah, alright.
1:35:44
Okay, another round. Robert is
1:35:47
dead. Silas. Six.
1:35:52
Edie with Jack.
1:35:55
Days with the five. Alright,
1:35:58
nice. Edie. another
1:36:00
shot because
1:36:04
I'm sorry it's nice but it's not
1:36:06
very tough so right okay
1:36:15
nothing nothing yeah you're
1:36:17
just sort of like
1:36:20
so this what are
1:36:24
you doing I'm still trying to fix my gun
1:36:27
you're holding a match I'm gonna
1:36:29
take both my guns obviously I'm gonna take both my
1:36:31
guns and that point blank range I'm gonna define them
1:36:33
directly okay that is a six and
1:36:42
six reroll
1:36:44
a reroll the six on the one diet and that's
1:36:47
a two that's
1:36:49
an eighth yeah so that's a
1:36:50
success with the race wait with the race it's
1:36:53
three additional DC yeah okay
1:36:55
that's a two sixes and
1:36:58
I'll do my third one and then I'll reroll the other things
1:37:01
two sixes and a three but I'm rerolling two dice
1:37:04
another six are you adding
1:37:06
this all up two sixes of three
1:37:08
is 15 plus a
1:37:10
one it was 16 plus another
1:37:13
six is 21 one yeah plus
1:37:15
one is 22 22 for gun
1:37:18
number one okay gun
1:37:26
number two
1:37:28
that is a two-in-all okay
1:37:38
well yeah
1:37:40
you don't need you don't need to worry because you do just empty
1:37:43
the first
1:37:48
and
1:37:48
yeah you basically obliterate her
1:37:50
brain she
1:37:53
yeah collapses to an ease
1:37:55
gives you a sort of quizzical look
1:37:58
and then reels over backwards I just
1:38:00
want to remind you, this is for the tour. And because
1:38:03
she's handcuffed, face-pawned. She
1:38:05
goes back onto her side. Yeah,
1:38:08
so the darkness
1:38:12
dispels. You
1:38:14
are now in a bright,
1:38:17
well, bright, bright electric
1:38:19
lights. Office Daisy's body
1:38:22
is on the floor. Robert's body is on the floor.
1:38:25
Yeah. Done
1:38:27
it.
1:38:28
Yeah.
1:38:29
Awesome.
1:38:29
I'd like to close Bobby's eyes. Oh.
1:38:32
Like, dramatically like they do in films. Respectfully. While
1:38:35
she's respectfully doing that, I'm like working as an author. I'm
1:38:37
about to go. I'm about to go. Off the...
1:38:39
Yeah. Yeah,
1:38:42
you retrieve the ring. It's
1:38:45
a golden signet ring. It has
1:38:47
a sort of inlaid insignia,
1:38:50
which looks like a snake or the serpent
1:38:52
sort of winding its way around something, a stick,
1:38:54
or it's hard to tell because it's stylized,
1:38:56
but there's a snake on the ring.
1:38:58
Should we drag Robert's
1:39:00
body to the tubes and just
1:39:02
see if we can, I
1:39:06
don't know,
1:39:07
bring him back to life or whatever. I'm not a real medical
1:39:09
guy.
1:39:09
It's worth a shot. All
1:39:12
right. We're gonna try and drag the corpse
1:39:14
of Daisy and
1:39:17
the corpse of Bobby. Yeah.
1:39:20
And we'll try the tube thing. And if it works, it works. If
1:39:22
it doesn't, then, you know, who
1:39:24
cares? Okay. Yeah, yeah,
1:39:26
yeah. All right, so yeah, that's, I'm gonna drag Robert along the
1:39:28
corridor. The
1:39:31
receptionist- I open the picture frame, I'm like, you
1:39:33
all leave right now. Well, it's just the
1:39:35
receptionist who's holding a mug of sweat. Yeah.
1:39:38
He sees the- Oh, I woke up and I'm like, thank
1:39:40
you so much. Sees the corpse
1:39:42
and he's like, no bother. And
1:39:45
then- You might wanna leave town. Yes, yeah,
1:39:48
the thought occurred. Thought's
1:39:50
at the front door. Okay, so yeah, you drag
1:39:52
the bodies up the corridor, up the stairs,
1:39:54
down to the treatment room.
1:39:57
Yeah, let's just do a-
1:40:01
Do a science roll I do not
1:40:03
have science But you know, let's
1:40:05
do it at I don't think I, no I do not have science
1:40:08
I got smart Because
1:40:11
the poison in Robert came from Yeah,
1:40:14
amazing This
1:40:16
is an advantage, so this is a plus Do a plus
1:40:18
four Plus four, right,
1:40:21
so I don't have it But I'm adding four,
1:40:23
so that would be minus Would it be minus? So
1:40:26
it would be plus two Okay,
1:40:28
so it's just D4 and a D6
1:40:32
D4 and a D6, sorry And
1:40:34
you add two to each result
1:40:36
Okay, well I've got six
1:40:38
on the world though Oh, we'll re-roll that And
1:40:42
a one, and a roll again And
1:40:44
a one, so yeah Alright, yeah,
1:40:46
so that's success with a raise, was that? A six
1:40:48
and a one and a two Yeah, success with a raise
1:40:52
No, that's a Yeah, success with
1:40:54
a raise Yeah, that's eight, that's a success
1:40:57
with a raise So yeah, you load
1:40:59
Daisy's body into the right hand tube
1:41:02
Next to the...
1:41:03
Throw the switch,
1:41:05
the sparks start flying For
1:41:10
a uncomfortable amount of time, nothing seems to be happening But
1:41:13
then,
1:41:14
Daisy starts to sort of
1:41:16
Kick and And
1:41:19
she's back to life She comes out with two guns,
1:41:21
no she
1:41:21
doesn't And she goes And
1:41:24
she goes And
1:41:26
she goes Yeah,
1:41:29
oh my god I'm getting
1:41:31
the F out of this He
1:41:33
says And yeah, you, the
1:41:36
two of you and Robert, leave this place Daisy's
1:41:39
body lies in the other tube And
1:41:42
that is how you defeated Daisy
1:41:44
do crow Yeah, well
1:41:46
done Alright
1:41:51
Alright, excellent work folks, thank you all so much

1:42:12
all of you, for watching. Thank you to Ellen
1:42:15
and Mike for being such great players. And
1:42:17
we will see you next time for more Oxventure Presents Deadlands.
1:42:27
And that was the stunning conclusion of
1:42:30
yet another stunning episode of
1:42:32
Oxventure Deadlands. Well done, Marshall Andy. Thanks.
1:42:35
Well done, Edie. Well done, Silas. They're not here, but
1:42:37
I assume they listen.
1:42:38
Yeah, well, it was, yeah, that was,
1:42:41
that was pretty
1:42:43
harrowing there at the end. Not in the
1:42:45
sort of nate sense, but just in the,
1:42:48
so the kind of creature that
1:42:50
Daisy is, is in the Deadlands
1:42:52
book is a poison woman.
1:42:54
Okay. And they can,
1:42:58
the idea is they can take pieces of their
1:43:00
brain out of their skull. They've got their
1:43:02
exposed brain sticking out the back of their skull and
1:43:04
like
1:43:05
poison food with it. That's so
1:43:07
nasty. It is so nasty. But then in this one,
1:43:09
I just had her go up to their, the NPC that they
1:43:12
were tracking around and just crammed some brain
1:43:14
into his mouth.
1:43:14
What do you like, Deadlands writers? That
1:43:16
is, I mean, is that adapted from some kind
1:43:19
of folklore? It seems like a really specific
1:43:22
concept for a monster. Yeah,
1:43:23
it's fun though. I mean, we had
1:43:25
the pox walker and Dr. Harker in the last episode,
1:43:28
and then we had a poison woman in this one,
1:43:30
which was, which was cool. But yeah, I really
1:43:32
enjoyed the sort of
1:43:35
John Carpenter vibes of this hospital.
1:43:37
Yes. Just sort of an unsettling
1:43:40
liminal space. Yeah. Yeah.
1:43:43
And the idea of... And old timey medicine
1:43:46
and such is just kind of a bit
1:43:48
creepy, isn't it? Yeah. Well, in this I had the disease transference
1:43:52
machine, which I thought was, you know, a fun,
1:43:54
a fun
1:43:54
little concept. But also it gave, because
1:43:58
Edie got... cut
1:44:00
by Dr. Harker at the end of the
1:44:02
last episode and she didn't pass the vigor
1:44:04
check and It's I
1:44:06
don't really explicitly address it in the episode
1:44:09
because she managed to cure it but what happens
1:44:11
if you do get
1:44:13
wounded by a pox Walker and you fail
1:44:15
the vigor check is you contract a Chronic
1:44:19
disease Which so
1:44:21
the actual rules for chronic diseases
1:44:23
in?
1:44:25
Deadlands and the one I had in mind for Edie
1:44:27
was like late stage tuberculosis
1:44:29
But the way it works is at the start of every session
1:44:31
you have to do a vigor check
1:44:33
And if you if you fail it's you're
1:44:35
kind of fatigued throughout the whole episode your all
1:44:37
your all your dice rolls are lower if
1:44:40
you roll
1:44:40
Snake eyes you die at the end of that
1:44:43
session like regardless The
1:44:45
end of that session of the disease
1:44:47
so it's really serious Chronic
1:44:49
disease in Deadlands, but say I'm
1:44:52
glad that didn't happen. Yeah. Well, I built
1:44:54
I've been man I built the escape hatch
1:44:56
of this kind of disease transference machine
1:44:58
into there and it's like You know, it's
1:45:00
up to her whether she desires to use it. Um,
1:45:03
yeah, obviously she was straight in there So, uh-huh.
1:45:06
Yeah. Yeah, you would don't want to go out like
1:45:08
oh wait. I was about to do a massive spoiler For
1:45:12
a popular video game that I don't know maybe not everyone's
1:45:14
finished. So I'm not gonna yeah, I
1:45:16
won't okay
1:45:18
Well, congratulations for another extreme.
1:45:20
Well, in fact, I think this is probably the most kind
1:45:22
of
1:45:23
kind of creepy nasty one yet Hmm and
1:45:25
you have said that the the kind of horror vibes
1:45:28
intensify as we progress through the season
1:45:30
Yeah, there's some there's some more horrifying
1:45:32
stuff coming up. I mean we're on Episodes
1:45:35
like the third bounty at the moment on the YouTube channel
1:45:38
the second episode of that which is the one that's going out
1:45:40
live
1:45:41
Today on the day this podcast
1:45:43
goes live.
1:45:44
That's got some that's got a really horrible
1:45:47
Yeah, I mean that one thing in it. Yeah
1:45:51
That I won't spoil but
1:45:53
Yeah, if yeah, maybe after the episode
1:45:56
just google the official artwork for that thing
1:45:58
cuz
1:45:59
Horrible. Should I Google the official
1:46:02
artwork for Poison Woman while we're here? I don't think
1:46:04
there's a picture in the book, sadly.
1:46:06
Okay. But there might be some sort of fan art or something.
1:46:09
Yeah, well, I mean, there's got to be. I
1:46:11
want DeviantArt right now.
1:46:13
I'm not really.
1:46:14
No, no immediate Poison
1:46:16
Woman fan art. You'll be glad to know.
1:46:19
But that was a nice little pivot there to our current
1:46:22
episode of Oxventure Deadlands going out on youtube.com
1:46:25
slash oxventure. Right
1:46:27
now, today on Friday the 8th of September,
1:46:29
the premiere is on a Friday evening,
1:46:32
as always here in the UK. Yeah. So
1:46:35
come check it out live.
1:46:36
Yeah, today is part two of the town
1:46:38
that dreaded justice. Which
1:46:41
has got Jane and Johnny and Mike. Yeah,
1:46:43
yeah.
1:46:45
And like
1:46:47
Candy says, it's got some kind
1:46:49
of nasty stuff. Really horrible, really horrible stuff. Horrible, horrible
1:46:51
stuff. But some good accents and fun
1:46:53
times and yeah, we think you'll have a nice time with
1:46:55
it. And
1:46:57
what else? What else have we got, Andy? Oh,
1:47:00
Oxventure Halloween

Very exciting. If you are an enjoyer
1:47:34
of podcasts, I'm on this week's episode of
1:47:36
Three Black Halflings. Featuring
1:47:39
a friend of the show, Jasper William Cartwright
1:47:42
and Liv Kennedy and Jeremy Cobb, talking
1:47:45
about deadlines and tabletop
1:47:47
stuff in general. It's a good listen. So
1:47:50
check it out on your podcatcher at
1:47:53
Three Black Halflings. Mmm.
1:47:56
Good stuff. Oh, also keep an eye
1:47:58
on the store. That's store.outsidexbox.com.
1:47:59
dot com because there's some exciting
1:48:02
new things are happening very soon and I
1:48:04
don't know if I'm allowed to say what they are exactly but
1:48:08
don't take your eyes off the prize I guess
1:48:10
is that vague enough for you? Yeah that's
1:48:13
pretty vague. That's pretty vague
1:48:15
anyway. There'll be something
1:48:17
new happening next week so if you're into
1:48:19
that stuff if you're into OxVenture merch then keep
1:48:21
your eyes peeled. Looking forward to it. Okay
1:48:24
thanks for joining us Andy,
1:48:26
Marshall and Andy. No problem. I will see you again
1:48:28
next week where we will be talking about
1:48:31
the first part of the town that dreaded justice
1:48:34
which is going to be a lot of fun so look forward to that folks.
1:48:37
Okay
1:48:39
have yourselves a lovely little weekend
1:48:42
and a week and then we'll see you again for some more. See
1:48:44
you then
1:48:44
folks, bye.
