1:28

your host and resident fanallist as

1:30

always, Ryan Schlipp. Check us out

1:33

on packernet.com. Find me on

1:35

Twitter, pack underscore dat eah. Well,

1:40

I will not fall asleep tonight. I'm going to make

1:42

it. I don't feel unbelievably tired

1:44

like I did yesterday. So I think we're good.

1:48

Look, we've got a lot of time

1:50

and I'm basically just talking to myself right now. So

1:53

just just bear with me as I have a conversation

1:55

with myself. We have a lot of time

1:57

to cover these picks.

1:59

We don't. need to

2:01

gather every little bit of

2:04

data and spend all night on

2:06

social media making sure you grab every little

2:08

clip every little note every little thought every

2:10

little data set and whatever so

2:12

that we can have every answer for every pick we have

2:14

lots of time right after

2:17

the draft we're gonna be obsessing about

2:19

every little detail so

2:21

today we're gonna hit broad strokes

2:23

notes kind of like yesterday we got four picks

2:25

to go over which is amazing that we got

2:27

four there's a trade back in there so we

2:29

got even more picks we got eight more tomorrow

2:32

I'd like to if we have time kind of

2:34

hit on some of the guys that I like

2:36

by the way well

2:39

first of all let me give a shout out

2:41

to Fogo obviously you can't still join the contest

2:43

because it's you know whatever but I

2:45

still want to honor them

2:47

and their giveaway to us what

2:50

a really nice thing that they're doing so if

2:53

you have a Brazilian steakhouse Fogo

2:55

de Shone you got to check

2:57

it out I mean you can wait to see if you

2:59

won the contest that makes sense if you didn't

3:02

please go check it out if it's within like

3:04

an hour drive I promise you it's worth it

3:06

they've also got a thing running right now Fogo

3:09

44 when you make a reservation online put that in

3:11

you're gonna get your meal for the

3:14

the you know per meal it's kind of like when you

3:16

go to a buffet it's not a buffet I don't

3:18

want to slander it like you're going to some I

3:20

mean buffets are awesome but this is better is what

3:22

I'm saying but you pay for your meal you go

3:24

and then you just eat to your heart's content so

3:27

per meal 44 bucks unbelievable

3:29

deal because it's all you can eat steak

3:32

but anyways big shout out to them but

3:34

make sure you come check

3:36

out our stream tomorrow

3:38

right Packernet podcast or if you're

3:41

subscribed to Clayton's podcast Packer

3:43

Total Access whatever just come hang out with

3:46

us it's gonna be streamed

3:48

to Twitter to YouTube I'm gonna share

3:50

it on Facebook and whatnot we

3:52

hit 2,500 people watching us

3:54

live I mean that at one moment 2,500 people not

3:56

total views so it

3:59

is a big massive hangout. It's a

4:01

big party. We hit 2,000 so I did

4:03

a shot of hot sauce so

4:06

that's the only thing that's gonna be

4:08

burdening me tomorrow. I might be sweating

4:10

a lot and in some discomfort but

4:12

that's just the hot sauce working its

4:14

way through. But what I

4:16

want to do tomorrow before the stream, not a ton

4:18

of time but I want to I want

4:20

to try to create my own list of guys. Not really

4:22

a big board just a list of these are

4:24

the guys who would be jacked if we got

4:27

there's still a list. But anyways I'll give you the names

4:29

off the top of my head today and then I will

4:31

expand on that if you want to hear it come join

4:33

the stream. Alright

4:35

so let's start with this. First of

4:37

all as we know in the first round pick 25 the Green Bay Packers

4:40

took Jordan Morgan offensive tackle out

4:42

of Arizona. 6-5, 325 pounds. Pretty

4:46

controversial picks. CBS which is

4:48

what I'm using just as a reference right now gave us

4:51

a C plus. Pretty standard

4:53

right? I think you know as

4:55

a lot of us had time to sit and

4:57

think about it started to appreciate it more. I

4:59

think he is seen as a legit left tackle.

5:01

I think that's where they would prefer him to

5:03

be. That doesn't mean that's where he's gonna end

5:05

up but you know whatever we'll

5:08

see how that pans out. Then

5:11

with pick 45 the

5:14

Green Bay Packers by the way they traded back. They

5:17

had Kool-Aid McKinstry on the board and

5:19

decided to trade back. The Green

5:22

Bay Packers selected Edger and Cooper linebacker out of

5:24

Texas A and I'm very glad I went back

5:26

and did a second look. First

5:28

run through as I said I was not high on the

5:30

top two guys which was Peyton Wilson and Edger and Cooper.

5:32

I just didn't get it. Second

5:35

run through I really started to understand and appreciate

5:37

Edger and Cooper as I watched him a little

5:39

bit more. So

5:41

very very excited about him. 6 foot 3, 230 pounds. Here's what CBS

5:43

had to say in

5:45

their little snippet. Young high-energy

5:47

off-ball linebacker plus range loves attacking

5:50

downhill very effective versus the run.

5:52

Flashed in coverage too with ball

5:54

skills but tackle reliability must improve

5:56

at the next level. Ultra quick

5:58

trigger. ID's play. in

6:00

a flash. Some were honest but plenty

6:02

of tantalizing traits. That's Chris Trepasso. Okay

6:06

so then the second

6:08

pick in the second round the Green Bay

6:10

Packers select Jevon Bullard. Very

6:13

excited about Jevon Bullard. My

6:16

kind of preference was let's just wait and

6:18

go get one of the later guys. You know

6:20

there's plenty of value later on but

6:23

you know with the Green Bay Packers

6:25

being able to have some solid DBs.

6:27

Obviously Xavier McKinney is gonna be top

6:30

dog back there but Jevon Bullard

6:32

hopefully gonna be able to provide

6:35

some additional help not just as a strong safety

6:37

but as a cover guy which is kind of

6:39

one of the interesting things about almost all of

6:41

these picks. You know Jordan Morgan it's

6:43

a question of where are you putting them and the Packers I

6:45

don't think they know. I think they look at him they say

6:48

he's a very good offensive lineman. We hope he can be a

6:50

tackle we don't know. Edgeron Cooper where is

6:52

he gonna play? I mean you know he's a linebacker but

6:54

is he your mic? Is he your strong side linebacker? Is

6:56

he your weak side linebacker? He legitimately could

6:58

be any of them it's just a question of where you want

7:00

him. Jevon Bullard he's

7:03

a you know I think his coach called him a little

7:05

stick of dynamite. He's 5'11", 195 but he is a physical

7:08

violent human being. He likes to just lay

7:11

into people but he also is kind of

7:13

a slot guy. So there's some hybrid kind of

7:15

stuff there what are they gonna do? Is he gonna be a

7:17

little bit of cover? Is he gonna be a little bit did? Don't

7:20

know. Interesting though here's what Chris Trepasso

7:22

had to say about him. Hair

7:24

on fire stocky safety who can align at

7:27

the nickel cornerback if needed. Takes

7:29

great angles against the run and plays

7:31

with reckless abandon. Runs the alley like

7:33

a missile rarely misses a tackle not

7:35

crazy ball-hawk smaller with shorter arms just

7:37

a stud football player. Then

7:39

in the third round pick 88 they take Marshawn

7:42

Lloyd running back out of USC. Now I

7:44

think with almost all of these picks with

7:46

the exception of Edger and Cooper I

7:48

love the pick. it's not I mean and I

7:50

love the position. it's maybe not the guy I

7:52

would have taken right? Jordan Morgan is fine I

7:55

talked about him as being like that first guy

7:57

that I came across I was like okay I

7:59

can see it. But. We had a guy

8:01

that everybody gonna like go sit in their right arm.

8:03

And regroup was my top gunfire with Javan

8:06

Bullard. Same kind of deal. Not that he

8:08

wouldn't necessarily be the top guy in that

8:10

situation, but you know, maybe wait a couple

8:12

Ryan or whatever and then Marshawn Lloyd. Obviously,

8:14

there are several guys I preferred over Marshall

8:16

Lloyd. But. I don't have an issue with

8:18

them. I I'd kind of way through in my of.

8:21

Grades, rankings, whatever. And when I got to martial

8:23

law and I certainly had several concerns. one of

8:25

which is they just didn't run the ball much.

8:27

Tried to watch two different games is to get

8:29

like one games worth of of film on him.

8:32

But. That's when I started to do more ranges

8:34

as opposed to a great because it's a question

8:36

of like. Projection.

8:39

I. Love that he's five nine. A.

8:41

Cyst to ten? I'm pretty sure to twenty.

8:43

Is. Probably his old. Grey.

8:46

That's not what he measured in at at the Combine, but

8:48

I you know you, they're sort of a low end in

8:50

a high and great nothing for me. I saw a lot

8:52

of the low and stuff that was gonna, you know. Not

8:55

my favorite I thought. You know,

8:57

as far as receiving goes. I

8:59

wasn't super excited about of it's it's I'm not. A lot

9:01

of people have pointed to as a highlight. Just.

9:03

Felt like he may be didn't have a plan whatever.

9:05

Coachable stuff. But. At the same time

9:08

it is. He is a prototypical packer. He he

9:10

checks all the boxes, nothing to packers look at.

9:12

This is a mold of clay like a lot

9:14

of these guys. When Edr and Cooper has been

9:16

talked about that way, I obviously like him more

9:18

as as cause are being a finished product. Not

9:20

that any rookies a finished product you nord I

9:22

mean a little bit more ready but other people

9:24

disagree and think that he's he's a little bit

9:26

further away. Same with Jordan Morgan. And

9:28

always gotta add some muscle. He's got a

9:30

deal made mate. Not this year, but maybe

9:32

next year we heard the same stuff. This

9:34

is what the Packers love, right? Packers fans

9:36

hate it. May hate that we get guys

9:38

that are a year way. They hate that

9:40

he that we get guys that are not

9:42

going to be studs their rookie year necessarily.

9:44

sometimes they accidentally become that's seen and but

9:46

that's not necessarily the intention. Were getting great

9:48

football players with high character that fit in

9:50

the locker room and that's really the end

9:52

of the story. and and martian

9:55

lloyd is a prototypical brian good

9:57

it comes running back he is

9:59

a so just

10:01

massive guy that is just gonna punch you in the

10:03

mouth over and over and over. He's a guy that

10:05

if you need to, you can put 25, 30

10:08

carries on him in a game and he can

10:10

handle that load. And now we have three guys

10:12

that can do that on this football team. Not

10:14

to mention, we got one guy, AJ Dillon, that's

10:16

probably pretty unlikely to be coming back. We got

10:18

another guy that we paid a decent amount of

10:20

money to, but in reality, it's kind of a

10:23

one year, let's see how it goes contract. So

10:26

if Marshawn Lloyd can pop off, we'll

10:28

see. But he

10:30

just fits and I think he does everything that

10:32

Matt Loeffler is gonna love. And if we get

10:34

a good enough offensive line, he can do what

10:36

they want him to do. And

10:39

then at pick 91, the Green Bay

10:41

Packers select Tyron Hopper, linebacker out of

10:43

Missouri. Chris Trepasso gave that

10:46

one a C plus, same as

10:48

Jordan Morgan. Said ultra physical off

10:50

ball linebacker, sleek, exudes athleticism and

10:52

makes assertive decisions on a routine

10:54

basis, particularly against the run or

10:56

blitzers, where he also

10:58

thrives. Best in that role or

11:00

as a spy, long way to go and coverage

11:03

another linebacker question mark. So in other

11:05

words, he's wondering why they would draft

11:07

another linebacker when they already got Edger

11:09

and Cooper. I mean, number

11:12

one, best player available. Although we know

11:14

that if they really didn't want

11:16

a linebacker, they could have moved off the spot or taken

11:19

somebody else in that spot or whatever. But in

11:21

addition, I mean, we need more bodies there.

11:23

I mean, number one, linebackers are special teamers.

11:26

We lost a linebacker. So in reality, Edger

11:28

and Cooper just replaced a linebacker we lost

11:30

and we switched to a four or three,

11:32

we need another body. And

11:34

obviously we've got a, I mean,

11:37

we had basically two starting linebackers in

11:39

a four or three defense. And

11:41

one of them is maybe a

11:43

starter. I think maybe

11:45

we like him a little bit more than is talking

11:49

about McDuffie. Maybe we like

11:51

him a little bit more than is reasonable.

11:54

I don't know. But again, what is

11:56

it? It's competition. Edger and Cooper, Karen Hopper, they're

11:58

gonna go. in and I mean,

12:01

Adrian Cooper's gonna start. I would be stunned

12:03

if the second round pick can't get on

12:05

the field over like McDuffie

12:07

and Tyron Hopper, but who

12:10

knows? Crazier things have happened. Not

12:12

many crazier things, but crazier things have happened.

12:15

But they're gonna go in and they're gonna compete

12:17

and they're gonna see how the chips fall. And

12:19

obviously, you know, the the hope is, I mean,

12:21

Tyron Hopper being sort of a little

12:23

bit of a smaller guy, at least I think he is. I don't,

12:25

I don't, I guess I don't really know. It says they have

12:27

Adrian Cooper listed at 230. Hopper here at 221. I thought

12:30

he was 228 when I looked.

12:34

I don't know, but I think Hopper is sort

12:37

of your weak side linebacker and then it becomes

12:39

Cooper or Quay

12:41

as your strong side linebacker. I think they're

12:43

very similar. Clayton talked about that a

12:45

little bit and it's like, well, Adrian Cooper's a pretty

12:47

good blitzer. So maybe you want to kind of play

12:49

in that strong side linebacker role, get him closer to

12:51

the line of scrimmage. But at the same time, that's

12:53

why I like Quay as a strong side

12:56

linebacker because he was kind of excelling as a blitzer

12:58

down the stretch. He was getting kind of good at

13:00

that. But you know, maybe they could be used interchangeably

13:02

and that could be kind of a benefit. I don't

13:04

know. I'm guessing you want one Mike to be, you

13:06

know, running things. But

13:08

those are the picks. No other trades

13:10

up or down. Green Bay

13:12

Packers, as I mentioned, have eight picks in

13:15

rounds four, five, six and seven. Draft,

13:17

by the way, starts at 11 o'clock

13:19

central time. Believe it runs until about

13:21

six o'clock at night central time. I

13:23

looked at last year's times and

13:26

I think that's kind of what it was. I hope

13:28

so because otherwise I'm gonna have to bounce because my wife and I have

13:30

a little dinner date and I don't intend

13:32

to miss it. But that

13:34

is gonna be a grind.

13:37

Alright, let's fly through a couple things

13:39

here. Edger and Cooper, let's start there.

13:41

First and foremost, 9.13 ras. OK size at 622.30.

13:49

Good explosion, good agility and elite speed.

13:51

He ran a 4.5 140 yard dash.

13:53

He is 22

13:56

years old in 2023. Adrian

14:00

Cooper had a 91 PFF grade.

14:02

He had an 88 run

14:04

defense grade, 74 tackling grade, 86

14:07

pass rush grade, and an 86 coverage

14:10

grade. Pretty perfect across the board. His

14:13

lowest graded game was against Mississippi State.

14:16

He had a 60 PFF grade in that game.

14:18

The only reason it was down so low

14:20

is because his coverage grade was a little

14:22

bit low. Three targets, three receptions,

14:24

31 yards. Apparently that, uh,

14:27

he really jacked that game up. So,

14:30

but, um, missed tackle rate of

14:32

12.8% that feels high. But

14:35

again, he graded out really well. He

14:37

had 27 pressures on just 83 attempts,

14:40

including 10 sacks. That's wild.

14:43

He had 10 sacks. Geez. 10 sacks, 5 hits, and 12 hurries on

14:45

83 attempts. 58 total tackles, 11 missed tackles, 56

14:47

stops. That's

14:56

crazy. How do you have 56

14:58

stops on 58 tackles? Good Lord. 16 targets, 14 receptions, 132 yards.

15:05

He didn't give up any touchdowns. He

15:07

had no picks, two pass breakups. Bob

15:09

McGinn had him as the number two linebacker.

15:12

Here are a couple, uh, notes. Quote,

15:15

I think he's a top 15 player,

15:18

said one scout. It's

15:20

just the low value of the position.

15:22

He does everything nasty and explosive. He

15:25

covers blitzes. He'll take on,

15:27

he can chase. He's fast, really fun

15:29

to watch. He plays like he can

15:31

run the defense. His instincts are outstanding.

15:33

He's taller and longer than Roquan Smith.

15:36

He's like Devin Lloyd in that he

15:38

played him in that he played

15:40

him all over the place. All right. Next,

15:43

uh, scout says he's the

15:45

best linebacker by far because he can rush

15:47

the passer too. He played

15:49

seven techniques sometimes, has upfield dip

15:51

as an outside, as an inside

15:54

linebacker, he timed his blitzes. You

15:56

see him downfield covering backs on

15:58

wheels as in wheel room. Third

16:00

Scout says he can wear the green dot. Again,

16:03

I don't think Quay is that dude.

16:05

No disrespect to Quay, but that's why I think

16:07

Cooper's gonna be the might. I think Quay is

16:09

gonna be the strong side linebacker and I think

16:11

the plan is for Tyron Hopper to be the

16:13

weak side linebacker. We'll see if he can do

16:16

it. He goes on to say, not a

16:18

bad kid at all. He's just a country kid

16:20

that came from a poor, poor family upbringing and

16:22

he doesn't know what he doesn't know.

16:24

Fair enough. There's a note in here by the

16:27

way we did talk about this but probably forgot

16:30

late in the season his girlfriend was killed in

16:32

an accident as she was riding an

16:34

ATV. This was just in 2023 I

16:37

believe his girlfriend was killed in an ATV

16:39

accident. So pretty horrible stuff. Quote,

16:42

if people aren't worried about things he'll

16:44

go high because he jumps off the

16:46

tape, said the third scout. Just seems

16:48

to be involved in every play. He's

16:51

a little skinny-legged guy, plays a little

16:53

light. I didn't feel great about his

16:55

leginess. He's really concerned about his legs.

16:57

Having to change directions in space, mid-round

16:59

guy. Next quote says, the hang-up is,

17:01

is he able to handle it mentally?

17:04

So the fourth scout. I think he'll

17:06

be just like Devin White. He's gonna

17:08

be unorthodox. He's not gonna play. He's

17:10

not gonna always play it like the

17:12

coach wants but with these quarterbacks these

17:15

days and when they get out of the pocket

17:17

man, you need a guy that can shadow those

17:19

guys and go get him when

17:21

the time comes. He can do that

17:23

as good as anybody. He's probably got the best close

17:26

to the football as anybody, even Dallas

17:28

Turner. His deal isn't going to

17:30

be taking on blockers. This guy is a

17:32

low rap tackler where he's going to get

17:34

you on the ground. He can fly sideline

17:36

to sideline and scrape as good as anybody

17:38

in the draft. Jeez, I don't

17:41

even want to read the fifth scout. These guys

17:43

are kind of douchebags sometimes. He

17:46

says he may be close to a

17:48

bust because he's a mental midget but

17:50

he can do some things where you're

17:52

like wow. Jeez.

17:57

So anyways, anyways why don't

17:59

we take a break we'll come back and

18:01

look at some of these other prospects

18:04

again because there's more picks and there's some other stuff I

18:06

want to do I'm not gonna go through everything with the

18:08

SIS go back through Dane Bruegler and everything else so this

18:10

is kind of the the track we're gonna

18:12

keep it on for an alpha tonight again

18:15

tomorrow we're gonna have to go even faster rapid fire

18:17

because it's gonna be a billion picks and then after

18:19

that we can kind of gear down

18:22

go on from there but anyways why don't

18:24

we take our first break we'll

18:26

come back and get to probably

18:29

well no that's not

18:31

true edger and Cooper's my favorite pick but Jevon Bullard

18:33

man that's a guy you can get excited about here's

18:35

a guy anyways we'll take a break we'll be right

18:38

back we all have smartphones

18:40

and we all know they're pretty amazing

18:42

but they also can be amazingly distracting

20:21

Bullard, safety out of

20:23

Georgia. He has an

20:26

8.25 RAS. The

20:28

only reason it wasn't significantly higher is because

20:31

of the largely because of his

20:33

size. He's 5'10", 198 pounds, poor

20:37

size grade. Explosion,

20:39

he didn't do the broad jump,

20:41

but the vert was not very good, 33

20:44

inches. Otherwise, his speed

20:46

is elite. And

20:48

then his agility was graded as great. He ran a 4.47

20:50

in the 40. PFF in 2021, he did not start. He

20:52

played 138 snaps, but even in

21:00

that limited amount, by

21:02

the way, 21 years old, 70 PFF

21:04

grade, he had an 87 tackling grade,

21:07

76 run defense, 67 in coverage. In 2022, he got the

21:09

starting gig, 624 snaps. It jumped up

21:15

to an 80 PFF grade, 73 run defense, 70 tackling, 71

21:17

pass rush, 80 in coverage. He gave

21:22

up two touchdowns, but had two picks

21:24

and five pass breakups. 2023, it

21:26

went up even a little bit more.

21:28

83 PFF grade, 67 run defense, 78 tackling, 88.4 coverage

21:30

grade. He didn't rush the

21:37

passer a single time, which is odd because he did

21:39

it 23 times the year before, maybe he had a

21:41

slight switch in his role, but 45 tackles,

21:45

seven missed tackles, which is a little under 11%,

21:49

13 stops, one forced fumble. He was

21:51

targeted 26 times, 14 of

21:53

those were caught for 119 yards, gave

21:56

up zero touchdowns, had two picks and five

21:58

pass breakups, 13. 34

22:00

passer rating when targeted the

22:03

consistency is a little bit more

22:05

iffy However, he only had

22:07

two games below a 60 and

22:10

his worst was a fifty five point four So

22:12

he really did not have any bad games. He

22:14

just kind of had a lot of Despite

22:17

the 83 which is kind of a surprising thing

22:19

I think the reason it's an 83 is because

22:21

every game was basically above average and it just

22:23

kind of Goes up with a couple

22:25

good games in but just a lot of a lot of 60s, right?

22:28

He had three seventies and 180 that was it.

22:31

Otherwise, it was you know, 69 69 68 67 67 61

22:37

59 55 none of those are terrible. Most of those

22:39

are high sixties, which is still good solid

22:42

football player Mostly

22:44

played free safety also played some strong

22:46

safety though at Georgia. Obviously, he's gonna

22:48

be spending a little bit more time

22:52

Not as the free safety in

22:55

Green Bay whether that's you know lined

22:57

up as a slot or strong safety or whatever He

23:00

was ranked as the number

23:02

two safety behind Tyler Newbin

23:05

And Bob McGinn's list here It

23:08

says played nickel in 2022 for

23:11

the national championship winning defensive MVP

23:13

honors in both playoff games quote

23:15

He's the number one safety one Scout said

23:18

he can't cover whiteouts, but he's a safety He's

23:21

square and he's a secure open

23:23

field tackler solid third year

23:25

junior played free safety in 2023 quote More

23:28

of a downhill type, but he's a notch better than

23:30

a box safety Set a second

23:33

Scout really good against the run He will

23:35

hammer you when he gets you in his sights little

23:38

little tight in the hips. He's not

23:40

a good pedal He's got a good pedal

23:42

and he's got quick feet But

23:44

he loses a step on the term because he's

23:46

just tight in the hips. He has a

23:48

good short He has good short

23:50

and underneath cover skills in both man and

23:53

zone, but he gets lost in the

23:55

the deeper He goes I kind of questioned his

23:57

instincts. He can be a late

24:00

two or early three with that kind of

24:02

speed. Next scout says he

24:04

can play free and strong. He's just not

24:06

pretty typical size in height and length. He

24:09

does have good feet. He tested well. Finished

24:12

with 114 tackles, eight for a

24:14

loss, four picks, 12 pass breakups. Quote,

24:16

are you kidding me with this guy? A

24:18

fourth scout said, he looks like a corner,

24:20

short and thin, he's active and has instincts.

24:23

He's also very limited athletically. He tries, but

24:25

he just can't get to where he needs

24:27

to go. In coverage and

24:29

run support, he cannot do that,

24:31

cover whiteouts. I thought he was

24:33

a free agent. I

24:36

tell you what, man, I hate

24:39

to keep disparaging the whole tape watching thing

24:41

because I know there's value in it, but

24:43

you know what I know? Two plus two

24:45

equals four, no matter who does the math. And

24:48

you've got the guys at the top of the

24:50

top of the top. These are the NFL scouts.

24:53

And you got one guy saying

24:55

he's the number one safety in the entire

24:57

NFL draft. Another guy saying second, third round.

24:59

And another guy saying he's an undrafted free

25:01

agent. It's hard to convince me this

25:04

is a science. All right, let's

25:06

move on to the third round here. Marshawn

25:08

Lloyd running back out of USC. This

25:10

was actually the highest grade given to us

25:13

by Chris Trepasso. So we had

25:15

a C plus for Jordan Morgan, B plus for

25:17

Edron Cooper, A minus for Javon Bullard, A for

25:19

Marshawn Lloyd, C plus for

25:21

Tyron Hopper. But

25:23

Marshawn Lloyd had an eight six

25:25

two RAS. Okay

25:28

size at five foot eight and a half

25:30

220 pounds. He

25:33

had good speed running a four four six 40

25:36

and good explosion did not do the

25:40

agility testing. Kicking it

25:42

over to PFF. He

25:44

played at South Carolina about

25:46

a half a season. 64 attempts, 228

25:48

yards, 3.6 yards per attempt, one

25:52

touchdown and three fumbles. He

25:54

had a 49 PFF grade, 55 rushing grade, 28 fumbling grade.

26:00

40 run blocking grade. 2022 at

26:02

South Carolina, he jumped up to a

26:05

more of a full-time roll, doubled his attempts. 110 attempts, 565 yards, 5.1

26:07

yards per attempt, 9 touchdowns, 2 fumbles. 77.9

26:12

grade, 84 rushing grade. Then

26:17

he transfers to USC in 2023, has 115 attempts, 816 yards,

26:19

7.1 yards per attempt, 9 touchdowns, 3 fumbles. 82

26:27

PFF grade, 87.2 rushing grade, 7.1 yards per attempt is pretty

26:29

wild stuff. Another

26:36

guy, honestly very similar to the other

26:38

guys so far as far as PFF

26:40

goes, his lowest graded game was

26:42

a 61. These

26:44

guys don't really have like low floor gain. You know, a

26:46

lot of times you'll see guys have got a 75 grade,

26:51

but there's two 90s and like a 40 and

26:53

a 30 and a 50 and so that's not

26:56

really a thing here. Largely

27:00

consistent, I mean if the UCLA game at

27:03

a 69.5 is, if we call that a

27:05

70, he's got one, two,

27:07

three, four, five, six games at a 70 or

27:09

higher, including his highest graded game,

27:11

which is an 82 against Arizona State,

27:13

he had an 87 rushing grade

27:15

in that game. He had 13 attempts,

27:18

156 yards, 12

27:20

yards per attempt in that

27:22

game. That's craziness. He

27:24

also had 11 yards per attempt against Nevada

27:27

and almost 12 yards per attempt against Utah.

27:31

By the way, he had 3.97

27:33

yards after contact per attempt

27:36

and 47 missed tackles forced. Sounds

27:38

like something Brian Goudicunts might be

27:41

interested in. He had

27:43

24 carries over 10 yards on his 115 attempts and

27:45

18 over 15 yards. By

27:52

the way, Daniel Jeremiah thinks that Marshawn

27:54

Lloyd is the best running back in

27:56

this entire draft class. Bob

27:59

McGinn, not so much. The item is the seventh running

28:01

back. Uh, it says fourth year

28:03

junior put in three years at South Carolina and

28:06

2023 at USC quote

28:08

fast guy with good hands. One scout

28:10

said his senior bowl was really good

28:13

redshirted in 2020 after suffering attorney, he

28:15

sailed that August. Quote, he had

28:17

the ACL and played with a brace on

28:19

his left knee. Set a second scout. The

28:21

vision's not there. The field's not there. Just

28:23

whatever's ahead of you run straight as hard

28:25

as you can. If there's a

28:27

crease, you burst through it. If there's not,

28:29

you get chopped down. Doesn't know how to protect

28:31

his body. Doesn't know how to bounce. Doesn't know

28:34

how to get skinny. Kind of

28:36

a slasher with a crease. He's a straight

28:38

line fast guy trying to play running back.

28:40

I wouldn't take him until very late, depending on how

28:43

with the knee checked out. Uh,

28:46

third scout says he's really quick, but he's

28:48

short. Two things I didn't like was

28:50

his height and the way he finishes

28:52

strong lower body, excellent balance catches the

28:54

ball. So pretty

28:57

varying opinions there as with

28:59

everybody. Again, I wasn't super high

29:01

on Marshall and Lloyd. I think I, I first

29:03

time I really, really didn't like him. Second time through

29:05

it was again, it's really just a matter of can

29:07

you see the vision, can you, can you get there?

29:09

And I think I kind of got there. You

29:12

see enough of the positives to say, you know,

29:14

if you can kind of stitch these together, you

29:16

can see it. Um, I don't

29:18

think you can convince me that I've put Lloyd

29:20

ahead of some of the other guys, but Daniel

29:22

Jeremiah is better at this than I am. So

29:24

if he says he's the top guy, I'll take

29:26

his word for it. I'm sure the Packers also

29:28

had similar opinions.

29:31

By the way, I believe one of the quotes

29:33

from Brian Goudekunst is that everybody they picked, they

29:35

had second round or higher grades on, so

29:39

really speaks highly of, of everybody,

29:41

including guys like Tyron Hopper, who

29:43

I doubt many people would have expected to be

29:45

a second round value or, or would

29:48

agree with that assessment, I should say, but

29:50

I am happy to hear it. I'm happy to hear the

29:52

Packers are that excited about them because you

29:54

don't view somebody with second round value and

29:56

say, eh, we'll see. Maybe it's a special

29:58

team. That's a guy you're

30:01

excited to start day one. Speaking

30:04

of Tyron Hopper, uh,

30:06

he came in at six, one and a half, 231

30:08

pounds. That's actually

30:10

quite a bit bigger than, uh, I

30:13

was seeing. It's actually bigger than Cooper, isn't

30:15

it? It's interesting. Um,

30:17

explosion grade is listed as great.

30:20

Good speed ran a four six eight. His 20

30:23

yard split was kind of the best. The

30:25

agility is where he really got hurt. Uh,

30:27

he has poor agility. The shuttle and the

30:29

three cone came in out of 10 as

30:31

a three, seven, seven and a four, three,

30:33

one short shuttle was four, four, six, three

30:35

cones, seven, two, nine. But you

30:38

know, seven, four, two, we're kind of in that

30:40

Jaden Reed territory where you kind of wonder if

30:42

either the Packers saw it and are okay with

30:44

it, or they looked at it and go, nah,

30:47

I think he's better than what the testing shows. But

30:50

I mean, this is going to be one of the harder ones

30:52

to kind of come around to, but I can

30:54

tell you right now, the easiest way to come around

30:56

to him. Cause you can look

30:58

at it and say, well, PFF said he sucked. Not

31:01

exactly PFF didn't like him in 2023.

31:04

They loved him in 2022. So,

31:06

I mean, we've been down this road before.

31:08

I mean, Dantavian Wicks and pretty much everybody

31:10

in last year's draft class, it

31:13

was like, you know, 2022 wasn't

31:15

great, but 2021 was out of his

31:17

world or whatever. That's Tyrone Hopper.

31:19

So his highest graded game this year, by the

31:21

way, three years at Florida, he started one year.

31:23

So he played three snaps, 2019 75 and 2020,

31:25

420, uh, 471 in 2021. Then

31:32

he transfers to Missouri and it was a starter

31:34

for two years there. His

31:36

grades at Florida first year doesn't matter.

31:38

Second year kind of doesn't matter. His

31:41

one year starting at Florida, he had a 60 PFF

31:44

grade goes to Missouri, 77 PFF grades,

31:47

65 run defense, 54 tackling 84 pass rush

31:49

and a 79 coverage grade. But

31:55

then last year in Missouri, his highest

31:57

graded game was a 67. He

32:00

had a 51.5 PFF grade 61 run defense 47 tackling 64 pass rush and 39 coverage

32:08

It was putrid. It was awful. It

32:10

was terrible. It was garbage But

32:12

again, this is a you want to see something

32:14

go back and watch him in 2022 In

32:17

fact, let me go look at some specifically for

32:19

those that are interested in maybe going to watch

32:21

some of his tape I

32:24

mean it he had mostly good

32:27

games that year Louisiana Tech

32:29

90 Arkansas 76 Vanderbilt was a 73 Florida

32:31

was a 73 Tennessee was a 72 Kentucky

32:36

was a 71 South

32:38

Carolina was a 69 Abilene Christian was

32:40

a 68 Auburn

32:43

was a 67. I mean those are all good

32:45

games. The only kind of rough games

32:47

for New Mexico State 50

32:50

and Wake Forest was a forty nine point five

32:52

or a forty eight point five forty nine So

32:55

almost any game he played In

33:00

2022 was a good game. I don't know what happened in 2023

33:03

We will get to one of the things I

33:05

can see actually pretty instantly I looks like they

33:07

may have switched schemes because in

33:09

2022 he was designated as a left

33:12

inside linebacker in 2023

33:14

he was a weak side linebacker slash middle linebacker,

33:16

which kind of sounds like they went from a

33:18

3-4 to a 4-3 But

33:23

anyways They made some

33:25

changes and it didn't seem to work

33:27

out very well for him But yeah,

33:30

2022 is when you want to go back and watch

33:32

him, but some of the statistics

33:34

here He

33:36

had 87 pass rush

33:39

attempts 17 pressures three sacks

33:41

one hit 13 hurries He

33:43

had one batted pass 45 tackles 17

33:47

missed tackles, which is a 23%

33:50

missed tackle rate. That's not good He

33:54

was targeted 30 times 21 of them were

33:56

caught for 231 yards. He gave up

33:58

one touchdown had zero picks pass breakups 103.6 passer

34:00

rating when targeted. Let's go back to 2022 though and

34:08

see what those stats look like. So he

34:10

had 32 pressures on 125 attempts, 4 sacks, 5

34:14

hits, 23 hurries, 2 batted

34:17

passes, 60 tackles, 16 missed

34:20

tackles which is still 17%, 41 stops, 1

34:25

forced fumble, 29 targets, 21 receptions for 165

34:27

yards, 0 touchdowns, 1 pick, 2 pass breakups,

34:33

71.8 passer rating when targeted.

34:36

So we'll see the Packers saw the

34:38

vision. This one's gonna be a little

34:41

bit trickier but we'll see if he can pull through. Fingers

34:44

crossed, obviously all of us need to go back

34:46

and watch these guys. I probably won't get an

34:48

opportunity until after the draft but

34:52

very excited to learn more about this guy

34:54

and exactly what the vision is. Alright, why

34:56

don't we take our final break and

34:58

I want to kind of look forward to today and

35:01

kind of give you as of right now some

35:03

of the guys I'm eyeing and then

35:06

like I said I will actually go through and

35:08

do a much more thorough look through

35:11

of all the prospects to try to

35:13

find a full list of guys that I would be excited

35:15

about if we drafted but let me give you my current

35:17

list as it stands. We'll take a break,

35:19

we'll be right back. Alright,

35:25

so let's go position by position here and

35:28

again this is just currently

35:30

as it stands guys that I know of that

35:33

I know for one reason or another I do

35:35

like quarterback. I don't want

35:37

them to draft a quarterback but I did really

35:39

like Michael Pratt so that would be the one

35:41

instance where if they got a guy I'd be

35:43

like oh yeah this guy's legit. Running

35:46

back there's plenty of guys. Do

35:49

I expect it? Not necessarily but

35:51

estimate I'm not a huge fan of

35:54

but I see the vision and obviously he is

35:56

a Packers guy. Will Shipley

35:58

same kind of a thing. different style

36:00

but type of

36:02

guy where I kind of started to see the vision.

36:05

Dylan Lauby, I'd be all in on Braylon

36:07

Allen, I really started to come around to

36:10

Ray Davis. I'm also a big fan

36:13

of Dylan Lauby is sort of

36:15

the one that is double

36:17

circle, triple underline as far as

36:19

being a big fan. Again, I

36:21

don't really expect them to

36:23

go back to that well, but it's entirely

36:25

possible. Wide

36:27

receiver, I don't have much. The only

36:29

thing I will say is

36:32

right now I'm very intrigued by Brennan Rice.

36:35

From a statistical standpoint, he is very

36:37

high on a lot of metrics, and

36:40

so that is certainly really interesting to me. But

36:43

I have to do a better job of really digging into

36:45

those guys, because I don't have

36:47

a whole lot else going on. Tight

36:49

ends, Jared Wiley, I really like. I think we

36:52

already kind of have a Jared Wiley, but I

36:54

don't care. I would be more than fine with

36:56

getting another one. Let's

36:59

see who else we've got. Eric All is

37:02

another one out of Iowa that

37:04

I think if you're trying to get more of a

37:06

Mercedes Lewis type of guy, I'm a

37:09

little bit intrigued by maybe going in that direction.

37:11

So those would be the two tight ends that

37:14

I currently am looking at. I think Cade

37:16

Stover might be another one that's kind of

37:18

similar, but we'll hold off on that until

37:20

Tamara. Tackles, I don't

37:22

have anything completely

37:24

solid. I know Christian

37:27

Jones out of Texas appeared a

37:29

couple times on some of the statistics, but I'm not going

37:31

to officially put my stamp on that until I can kind

37:33

of take a second look. Gard,

37:36

I know some of the names, but I don't want

37:38

to pop off too much. I know Christian Mahogany. I

37:40

know Mason McCormick. I don't

37:44

necessarily, I don't

37:47

want to put my stamp of approval on them just because

37:49

I know their name, but

37:52

I know they're very highly touted. A

37:54

33rd team has Christian Mahogany is a

37:56

50-50-50-1-50-5. first

38:00

overall prospect. Centers,

38:02

not surprisingly, I'm all in on

38:04

Tanner Bordellini. I love the athleticism

38:08

that he brings. Extremely

38:10

rare athlete. It doesn't hurt

38:12

that he's from Wisconsin and has a mullet. I

38:15

mean he just he just checks all the boxes. Van

38:18

Pran is just at this point just a name. I

38:20

got to go back and see if that would be

38:22

someone I'd be interested in at this point. It's not.

38:24

Our boy Xavier Galdin, remember

38:26

we talked about him? It'd be

38:28

pretty cool to maybe snag him. At defensive

38:31

tackle, Leonard Taylor, I know I was kind

38:33

of poking around a little bit, I wanted

38:35

to find a guy that is more

38:37

of a run defender and Leonard Taylor

38:39

is up near the top. In fact,

38:41

33rd team has him as the 46th

38:43

best prospect. He's still on the board

38:46

and again when you look at some of the advanced metrics

38:48

in run defense, he's one of the top

38:50

guys there. So again, I want to

38:52

dig a little bit deeper into that and maybe

38:54

find a few other defensive tackles but

38:56

right now if I had to pick one, Leonard Taylor is

38:58

the one that's most intriguing. The only thing I don't like

39:01

is he's from Miami and I don't know why but

39:03

there have... Some

39:05

of the OGs are gonna remember. You got to have

39:07

a real good memory and have been hanging out especially

39:09

through the draft process. There was a guy out of

39:12

Miami that was a defensive tackle

39:14

that everybody loved and I hated him.

39:17

I just thought he's the worst defensive tackle. He

39:19

went on to not do anything so I felt

39:21

vindicated in that but for whatever reason, Leonard

39:24

Taylor being from Miami, I just look at it and go,

39:26

I don't like him but I'm gonna go

39:28

ahead and get over that and say that he's gonna be on

39:30

my list for right now. Edge

39:33

rushers, I

39:35

don't have anybody that I

39:38

really care for as far as guys

39:40

that I've watched. However, Muhammad Kamara very

39:43

high again on a lot of metrics. So

39:47

currently ranked 177, 6'1", 248 pounds. A little bit of a smaller guy

39:49

but I mean that

39:53

guy's... You're looking at

39:55

stats. He's gonna be up near the top. Linebackers,

39:58

I mean... not sure if they'd

40:00

go back into it, but you know, I

40:02

know Cedric Gray is okay for me. Jalen

40:05

Ford and Tommy Eichenberg. I'm all the way

40:07

in. Um, Jeremiah

40:10

Trotter, I'm okay with, you know, Gray and

40:12

Trotter I'm fine with, but,

40:14

uh, Jalen Ford and Tommy Eichenberg, I'm real excited

40:16

about James. Williams always intrigued me. I don't know

40:18

why I think it's just because he

40:21

was listed as a safety and he's a monster, but now everyone

40:23

just kind of views him as a linebacker. So I just, I

40:25

can't get him out of my mind as a guy that I

40:27

liked, but, um, I

40:29

know I don't like Jordan McGee, uh,

40:31

other than that, looking

40:34

at it, I do not like Nathaniel Watson. I know

40:36

that. Uh,

40:38

I think that's about it for now. Those are

40:40

my two guys. And

40:42

again, I'd be okay with Gray or Trotter.

40:44

I have no issue with that. I just

40:47

didn't personally have a big affinity

40:49

for him at cornerback

40:51

as of right now, um,

40:54

DJ James, I know my son was big on him, so

40:56

I'm, I'm in on it because he liked him. Cam

40:58

Hart, we've talked about. Um,

41:01

that's the guy that I think would be really

41:03

solid for the Green Bay Packers. Storm

41:05

duck is a fantastic name. So I'd love

41:08

to have him. I'm

41:10

kidding. Uh, no, I think, um, I think

41:13

Cam Hart is my one guy right

41:15

now. And then safety is where I

41:17

think probably most of the

41:19

guys that I like reside. Oladapo,

41:22

Malik, Mustafa, um,

41:26

where else some of these guys might've got drafted.

41:28

Where's my boys at? Did they all get Bo

41:30

braid? I like Trey Taylor's right there. I like

41:32

him. Uh, looks like that

41:34

might be about it, but yeah, there's, there's still a lot

41:36

of safeties. I don't know if we're

41:38

going back in that I wouldn't be super surprised to

41:40

be honest with you, especially if a lot of these

41:42

guys end up fallen. But man,

41:44

if we picked up like a Malik Mustafa, it's

41:46

kind of cool too, because you know,

41:48

Mustafa to me is one

41:51

of the notes on Bullard is he's more

41:53

than just a box safety. In other words,

41:55

he's not great in coverage, but you wouldn't

41:57

just put him inside the box of being.

42:00

a box safety. I feel like Malik Mustafa might

42:02

be a little bit more in that box, but

42:05

when you add in the fact that we got

42:07

Bullard, it kind of feels like it rounds it

42:09

out a little bit more. Like with those three

42:11

guys, you just feel like you got your pure

42:13

box guy, you got your sort of box slot

42:15

guy, and then you got your free safety. But

42:18

yeah, I like Oledapo,

42:20

Mustafa, and then, you know, I don't

42:23

think I cared for Jaden Hicks a

42:25

ton, if I'm not mistaken. But

42:27

hopefully I can even add to this list. We

42:29

got Josh Proctor, I think he was,

42:32

I'm not mistaken, spent maybe a year

42:34

with our DC. I could be wrong

42:36

about that. But plenty of names, and

42:38

again, I'm going to go back and try to add some

42:40

more so that I got a list

42:42

to go off of for tomorrow. But I'm very, very

42:44

excited about tomorrow. I'm going to leave it at that

42:46

so I can get going to bed here. It's 1230.

42:49

I don't want to start yawning and falling

42:51

asleep and talking gibberish on the podcast again.

42:53

So you guys have yourselves a good night.

42:56

I cannot wait to hang out with you

42:58

tomorrow. You can give me your

43:00

list and we'll go from there. But you guys

43:02

have a good rest of your day. Talk to

43:04

you later. Bye-bye.
