Welcome to the Paradise . New
0:02
Podcast .
0:04
In the professional development space , we talk a lot
0:06
about habits , about how do we acquire those
0:08
behaviors that we can regularly
0:11
follow with ease , but we have one month
0:13
left of 2023 . The easiest
0:15
place to see where your habits are
0:17
, if you feel like you don't understand your habits
0:19
, is to simply look back and
0:21
say , okay , well , what habits
0:23
have I created in the last 11
0:25
months for myself , with my money , with my
0:28
exercise or fitness , with my relationships
0:30
, right Even career ? This is a big
0:32
one . What sort of habits have formed
0:34
in our career or our business ? What
0:37
kind of habits have you created around your weight , your health
0:39
, self-talk , thoughts , even hiding
0:41
? This is a big one for women . What kind of habits
0:43
have you created around hiding or speaking up for
0:45
yourself , or boundaries or people
0:47
pleasing different sides of the spectrum ? And
0:50
so I feel like that is a really great place for people
0:52
to start is to say I don't even maybe
0:54
understand my habits because they are on autopilot
0:57
. Cool , take a pause . Look back
0:59
on the 11 months , look at your life , look
1:01
at your environment and see what's around
1:03
, and then simply recognize that's
1:06
just a habit pattern . And
1:08
then I would like to invite people to consider
1:10
what is the number one habit you could create
1:12
for yourself to bring you the biggest
1:14
impact in your life or business in 2024
1:17
. Because creating that habit actually
1:19
starts now , not on January 1st but
1:23
now You're listening to the Paradigm you Podcast
1:25
.
1:25
You're about to start transforming your life by growing
1:27
your mind and expanding your paradigms . Here
1:29
we'll cover real life topics , just
1:31
like the stuff you'd share with a good friend . This podcast
1:34
will serve up topics that weigh on our hearts and
1:36
keep us up at night , whether it's navigating parenthood
1:38
and becoming an adult or wayfinding person , of
1:41
development , marriage and money . You , my
1:43
friend , are in the right place . I'm glad
1:45
you're here .
1:45
All right , well , welcome to the Paradigm
1:47
you Podcast . This is a really
1:49
exciting week . I'm so excited because we
1:51
are wrapping up the series on
1:54
harnessing the power of your subconscious
1:56
, and what better topic
1:59
to wrap it up than your habits
2:01
? My friends , let me just be clear
2:03
your habits define
2:05
your environment . Your
2:08
environment , your current life , is a reflection
2:10
of the habits that you do or do
2:12
not have present in your
2:14
life . So if you're wanting to change
2:17
something , changing your habits is
2:19
going to be the key . So today
2:21
, lisa and I are going to talk to
2:23
you about our current experiences
2:25
with habits . We're going to do it in
2:27
a little bit of a more unique way
2:29
. So , lisa , you ready ? We're going to
2:31
do a little bit more of a raw recording
2:34
this week and we're going to just
2:36
talk . We're going to talk about our
2:39
habits , what has supported
2:41
us , what needs to be recalibrated
2:43
and where to go from here
2:45
. All right , lisa , what do you think ?
2:47
Like this is what's been on my heart , because I'm like
2:49
what kind of habits have I been witnessing
2:51
for myself the last 11 months , especially
2:53
with our partnership right , and what kind
2:55
of ripple effect does that have in my life
2:58
? And then , what habits have
3:00
formed out of that which you
3:02
know , habits only have the meaning that we give it and
3:05
that's maybe a topic for another day . But , yeah
3:08
, what's come out of it for you ? When you
3:10
reflect so much greatness , I mean growth
3:12
, and it's interesting to when
3:15
you really do get pushed outside your comfort zone
3:17
, you start to see all the old
3:19
habits come up and how
3:21
some still serve you and
3:24
some definitely don't and just need
3:26
to go away . But having the awareness
3:29
and the ability to say these old
3:31
habits serve me to now , but
3:34
if I continue them , I am
3:36
going to continue to have the same outcome
3:38
that I've always had and
3:40
that's going to be for me in business , that meant burnout
3:42
. I'm going to radically burnout
3:45
. I'm going to burn down
3:47
my business . I'm going to burn
3:49
through relationships . I'm going to not
3:51
be present with my family and have distance
3:53
there with my kids , and I don't
3:55
want any of that now . And
3:58
so what does that look like ? No-transcript
4:01
how , what , what new habit needs to form
4:03
to get the biggest return ? The one habit
4:05
, the singular focus , the mono task
4:07
that I can concentrate on . What is
4:09
it ? It's ? It's something around organization
4:12
and how to roll things out . I'm typically
4:14
one to sprint and so like
4:16
let's have this huge goal and let's sprint towards
4:18
it , versus all right , let's , let's
4:21
continue to like , keep
4:23
building the programs and
4:25
our clients and our followers , while
4:27
also building the strong
4:29
foundation for the business . You know , I usually
4:32
build the program and the followers
4:34
and then try to like catch up with the other
4:36
stuff , and that is a way to
4:38
launch a business , no doubt , but
4:41
I've just done it that way so often that
4:43
it just doesn't stick long term
4:45
for me , because at some point you're
4:47
so busy you just don't have time
4:49
to catch up to the other foundational things
4:51
, and so it just kind of drives me crazy
4:54
.
4:54
How about you ? Everything you just said is
4:56
so applicable to so many people
4:59
. That's why the majority of
5:01
businesses fail in the first five years . Yeah
5:03
, everything you just said is
5:06
the reason that
5:08
most people who get into business
5:10
can't get it off the ground far enough
5:13
to create sustainability .
5:15
You know there's this concept in
5:17
business I know you've heard a million times which
5:19
is you know , build the ship once
5:21
you launch or build the airplane as
5:23
you're flying . There's some truth to that
5:25
, but I've just learned that I can't
5:27
always do that right . There are certain
5:29
elements of the business that you can't
5:31
constantly be doing that with . You
5:33
know there's things behind the scenes
5:36
that really need to be in place
5:38
. It doesn't mean you can't change the tech platforms
5:41
or evolve those things as you grow . It
5:43
just means just pause a
5:45
hot second . I'm not even talking about a fancy
5:47
website or any of that
5:49
that you don't need
5:51
when you first launch , especially as a coach
5:53
or a consultant , but what you
5:55
do need . I think it's important
5:58
, especially for me now at this phase
6:00
, to just say let me learn from
6:02
my past Again . Those
6:04
habits taught me what happens , and
6:07
so now I can build different and new
6:09
habits to create a different result
6:12
.
6:12
I appreciate you . This is so good and
6:15
this is so applicable to so many
6:17
entrepreneurs and for
6:19
women in particular . They don't spend
6:21
a whole lot of time looking back and reflecting
6:24
. It's constantly the looking forward
6:26
, and that's actually not just women
6:28
in particular , I think everybody . But
6:30
I think women have this like
6:32
I got to keep going . I got to keep going , I got to
6:34
look at what's next instead of pausing
6:37
and celebrating . So when you just said
6:39
, I know what
6:41
my patterns are , I can see the
6:43
path that I've been on and now
6:45
I can see how to tweak and adjust it to
6:48
get that maximum efficiency
6:50
, that's just exciting
6:53
.
6:55
It is , and it's a fun space to go . Okay
6:57
, I'm capable and willing to
6:59
do this differently and
7:01
to enjoy that process . I think
7:03
so often we can make that work
7:06
drudgery like , oh
7:08
, I'm trying to be someone , I'm not or I don't
7:10
know . We make up all these crazy stories that keep
7:12
us in our little box and to keep us hiding
7:14
, and none of it's true
7:17
, it's just a habit . It's just what
7:19
do you want ? And sometimes you can't see those
7:21
patterns because you're too in it and
7:24
you don't have people around you . And so that's why
7:26
I've been grateful for the women in elevate
7:28
when they speak up and ask questions and they're willing
7:30
to see something different
7:33
and willing to do something different
7:35
. You know , sometimes you just need
7:37
that partner . Like
7:39
you apes , I need you . You're
7:41
always pointing the way , oh
7:44
gosh .
7:45
Well , it's interesting that you say that , because
7:47
I feel like , as we're growing our
7:49
business , I'm not pausing long
7:51
enough to look back . So this conversation
7:54
is just such a good reminder to just say
7:56
okay , let's look at where
7:58
we've been , what we've done , what's
8:00
worked and what hasn't , and what
8:02
we want differently this time , because we
8:05
get to choose .
8:06
It's a great time of year for it . If
8:08
all we're doing at this phase of the year
8:10
is reflecting back to recognize patterns
8:13
and identify what we want , moving forward , especially
8:15
as business owners , but equally as human
8:17
beings , moving forward into 2024
8:20
, you're winning . This isn't a
8:22
time of year to be launching
8:25
a million new things and running yourself
8:27
ragged . This is a time especially
8:30
we're here in the Midwest , where it's cold . This
8:32
is a hibernating time , a time to go
8:35
inside and be reflective . It's
8:37
a powerful time and it's one
8:39
that , if you use it well and
8:42
if you are able to really hone the
8:44
ability of habits , especially
8:46
with subconscious reprogramming , as we've been
8:48
talking about all month , 2024
8:50
is going to be a phenomenal year .
8:52
I really liked what you said about looking
8:55
back . This is the time to pause
8:57
and be reflective and turn
9:00
inward . You're absolutely right with seasonality
9:02
. We're all
9:04
. I mean that's what plants are doing right now . They're
9:08
going inward , they're like regrouping
9:10
and just
9:12
taking a pause to just let
9:15
it all kind of wash through you
9:17
so that you can actually start
9:19
next year .
9:19
well , but going back to your analogy
9:21
about the plants . I was thinking
9:24
about that the other day and I thought the trees
9:26
without leaves they're not there judging
9:28
themselves right now , this time of year . They're
9:31
just like . I'm just doing my thing , I'm
9:33
in my natural cycle , I
9:36
will come back in spring , and
9:39
so I think the ability
9:41
as humans and business owners and
9:43
women to release the judgment
9:45
oof what
9:48
if we just looked back at everything and looked
9:50
at our habits in 2023 and it
9:52
was simply data . It just
9:54
showed us what we were
9:57
doing or not doing . That's it . That's
10:00
it . That's all it is , and then we can just choose
10:02
how to tweak the data For
10:05
some that might feel right . No judgment
10:08
, and for some that might feel impersonal . For
10:10
me that just takes the judgment and shame
10:12
around it . That's so many people feel .
10:16
And I'm guessing a lot of people are
10:18
myself included . When you're
10:20
in more group settings
10:22
, which
10:24
I know , I feel like I'm more
10:26
exposed to different groups and different people
10:29
this time of year , and then it
10:31
I wouldn't even say it's a judgment
10:33
. It's more of a comparison
10:36
. Yeah , like
10:39
oh , which then leads to judgment right
10:41
, right , you're
10:43
like , oh , okay , well , they're doing this , well
10:45
have , why am I not doing that ? Yes
10:47
, what am I doing wrong ? Yes
10:49
, so you know what
10:52
you want and you've identified
10:54
where you're being met with resistance . Now
10:57
it's time to start applying those
10:59
habits , or releasing the habits , so
11:01
that you can move forward into what you want and
11:04
recalibrate .
11:06
Is it specifically the habit of subconscious
11:08
reprogramming , or what , what ? What
11:11
specific tool ?
11:12
I love that , but that wasn't where I was going . Okay
11:15
, it was more of how do we
11:17
tie this topic of habits into
11:20
the series that we named subconscious
11:22
reprogramming .
11:26
I mean , I think I think calling that out like this
11:29
is this this whole series has led to this
11:31
moment . If you want 2024 to be
11:33
different , based on looking back
11:35
at your 2023 , then
11:37
the one habit so
11:40
right , like okay . So I'm asking
11:42
, I'm asking our listeners hey , consider
11:44
what the number one habit is that you could create
11:46
for yourself to bring you the biggest
11:48
impact next year in
11:50
your life or your business , whatever you're
11:52
focusing on and the spoiler
11:55
here , listeners , is that it's
11:57
subconscious reprogramming . That
12:00
is the number one habit , right there
12:02
. So lean into that
12:05
, figure out where and how and
12:07
when you're going to do that and
12:10
stick with us , because this is what elevate
12:12
our program is all about . We're running two
12:15
of them again in the new year , so
12:17
this is where the number one
12:19
habit comes into play .
12:22
On that note , cheers to Good
12:24
Karma . It's closing time .
