1:38

Tonight, I'll be talking about a strange

1:40

encounter with an unknown entity outside

1:43

of a farm house. A terrifying

1:45

report in Utah of a creature

1:47

that throws boulders, and

1:49

an extremely odd experience in the forests

1:52

of Michigan. All of these

1:54

experiences are coming up on

1:56

this edition of from the

1:58

forest. Thank

2:15

you for joining 309, and welcome as always.

2:18

I'm your host, Nick Ryan.

2:30

much for your generosity. And

2:32

of course, the show wouldn't be possible without all

2:34

of my amazing listeners from around

2:36

the world. I appreciate each

2:38

and every one of you for your continued

2:40

support. Tonight's

2:42

show is a little shorter than usual as

2:44

I'm putting most of my efforts into writing

2:46

for part two of something in the wilderness.

2:49

However, I have a couple of experiences

2:52

that follow the same narrative and

2:54

I knew that all of you would appreciate

2:56

hearing them. So without further

2:58

ado, Let's begin with our first

3:00

experience of the night, which comes

3:02

to us, from Lee. 309

3:05

says, Hi, Nick.

3:07

Thanks for playing my story on the podcast.

3:10

As I said, as a child, my house

3:12

was very haunted, and I believed it

3:14

was the land. I know from

3:16

these experiences that there is truly

3:19

evil in this world, but good

3:21

as well. I grew

3:23

up in an old farmhouse in Iowa

3:25

in the middle of nowhere. At

3:27

night, everything is pitch black and

3:29

I remember seeing shadow figures that

3:31

were blacker than the darkness. Behind

3:33

the trees. As a child,

3:35

I swinging on our swing set

3:37

and seeing them even during the day,

3:39

peeking out from behind the hog shed

3:42

or the old feed store, and I believe

3:44

that everyone could see them. The

3:46

one I was the most afraid of, had

3:49

a fedora. My room

3:51

in my house was used as a storeroom.

3:53

It was one of the biggest rooms in the house.

3:55

But for some reason, the previous owners

3:58

had it locked and only used it for

4:00

storage. We thought that it was because

4:02

it was on the north side of the house that it was

4:04

always freezing cold, but it

4:06

was also because for some 309, they

4:09

never built heat into that room.

4:11

At night, I would hear and see

4:13

shadow figures at the doorway and walking

4:16

up and even sitting on the bed.

4:18

I also felt as if I could feel

4:20

icy cold fingers stroking

4:22

my cheek at night, and I remember

4:24

at the time thinking that it was just

4:26

my imagination. However,

4:28

after moving away from the farmhouse that

4:31

has never happened again, What

4:33

truly scared me about the house however

4:35

wasn't the shadow people or obvious

4:37

spirits connected to the land,

4:39

but it was that I didn't understand it. Or

4:41

I had never heard of it before. Regardless

4:44

of how dark it was or scary,

4:46

I was still restless and loved

4:48

to ride my bike around the house and

4:50

shoot baskets at night. One

4:53

night, I was out shooting baskets at around

4:55

midnight to two AM. I

4:57

had headphones in and my MP three

4:59

player, so I couldn't hear anything.

5:01

All of a sudden, something hit the basketball

5:04

headboard so hard that the entire

5:06

thing shook and I ducked just in

5:08

case a ball would fly up and hit me.

5:10

I had my sister's bike propped up against the

5:12

hoop, so the ball would hit it and then

5:14

fly back to me instead of going down

5:16

the hill towards the dark barn.

5:19

Whatever it was, hit the bike

5:21

and knocked it over, but I still saw

5:23

no ball or anything physically

5:25

hit it. I then turned around

5:27

and pulled the headphone out of my ear because

5:29

I thought that it was my sister sneaking up

5:31

on me. And I said, Penny,

5:33

you scared the heck out of me. But

5:35

when I looked back, no one was

5:37

there. I told myself that it

5:39

must have been a bird that hit it and I

5:41

let it go. But then when I looked

5:43

ahead, there was a black cat.

5:45

And I love black cats, but it was

5:47

just sitting there and staring at me

5:49

with its eyes open. And it

5:51

didn't blink. The feeling I

5:53

got from this cat was the same feeling

5:55

I would get when I would see the shadow

5:57

people as a child. I didn't

5:59

understand why though, so I ignored

6:01

it. I tried to scare the cat

6:03

away, but it never moved. I

6:05

also tried to throw the ball at it or

6:07

toward it. But it didn't

6:09

flinch. I continued to

6:11

shoot baskets until I got the overwhelming

6:14

feeling of being watched and then

6:16

I went inside. My mom asked

6:18

me why I ran in so fast and

6:20

I told her the story and I said that

6:22

there was a cat that was still outside.

6:24

She then glanced outside and she saw

6:26

it staring in the window at us and it

6:28

was just sitting there, almost like

6:30

it was frozen, not blinking.

6:33

And she then said, lock the doors

6:35

and we ignored it for the rest of the night.

6:38

I didn't tell anyone as no one

6:40

ever believed me anyway. And

6:42

I didn't understand what it

6:44

would even be. A

6:46

few weeks later, we were riding our bikes

6:48

around the house at night when my friend

6:50

ran up to 309 in a panic. She said, we

6:52

need to go inside right now.

6:55

I said, what happened? Where's your

6:57

bike? And she said, I fell

6:59

off my bike And when I did, there was a black

7:01

cat just sitting there staring at me.

7:03

I then knew that it was the same thing,

7:06

but whatever it was was not

7:08

a cat. I love cats and I

7:10

actually own a black cat and I

7:12

even looked up shape shifters, but the

7:14

closest thing that I could find as to

7:16

what it was. Is a witch's

7:18

spy. I believe it was some

7:20

sort of spirit or entity that knew

7:22

its normal form would scare me 309, so

7:24

it took the form of something else. So

7:26

was not to cause fear. However,

7:29

as to why it had to get so close

7:31

and why it was watching me, I don't

7:33

know. The house is

7:35

across the street from a church camp, and I

7:37

also believe that this is the reason

7:39

for a lot of the 309, as well

7:41

as evil spirits being upset and

7:43

disturbed. By the worship that's

7:45

going on there. If

7:47

anyone knows what type of creature or

7:49

spirit that was, I would love to

7:51

know. But it's bothered me since the

7:53

day it happened, and I will

7:55

never forget, the unblinking

7:58

eyes. Our

8:02

next experience comes to us from Nate.

8:04

And Nate's experience is called

8:07

something big behind the trees.

8:10

Nate says, hi, Nick.

8:12

Thank you for reading my story about the different colored

8:14

ghosts and my UFO story.

8:17

It's nice to get the stories out. I

8:19

have restarted the podcast and I've

8:21

really enjoyed listening to the stories that

8:23

all the other listeners send in. I

8:25

just recently listened to the Phoenix Lights

8:27

episode thirty one. I started to

8:29

think to myself about my UFO

8:31

encounter. It was right around the same

8:33

time of year in nineteen ninety

8:35

seven that I saw that UFO. I

8:38

wonder if it was the same. It was

8:40

huge just like the Phoenix Lights

8:42

UFO. I live in Northern

8:44

Utah, so it wouldn't be outlandish

8:46

to say that it could have been the

8:48

same craft. The

8:50

story I have today is what I believe

8:52

to be bigfoot. I was around

8:54

nineteen or twenty in about the

8:56

year two thousand. Me and

8:58

my sister's boyfriend were going fishing in

9:00

the late afternoon on a river that was about

9:02

twenty minutes away from my house.

9:04

We stopped by the store to grab some night

9:06

crawlers, snacks, and drinks.

9:08

We were going to stay out late to do some

9:10

night fishing, so my friend brought up

9:12

a spotlight. It was

9:14

still light outside when we got to the spot

9:16

that we were going to fish at. We

9:18

got set up and got our lines in

9:20

the water. The sun was already on the

9:22

western side of the mountain, so the river

9:24

was shaded, and we started catching

9:26

fish pretty quick. About

9:28

an hour had passed and it was starting

9:31

to get dark. I had a fishing

9:33

pole that had a glow in the dark tip, so

9:35

I kept using the spotlight on the tip of

9:37

the pole so it would glow for about

9:39

five minutes. I kept doing

9:41

this for a while before. I

9:43

then stuck a bell on the tip of my pole, so

9:45

I could hear the fish pick up the bait.

9:47

And 309, there was a loud splash

9:49

in the river. Thinking that it was a

9:51

large fish, I use the spotlight in the

9:53

direction of the splash. Hoping to see

9:55

the general area of where it came

9:57

from so that I could cast my line

9:59

there. As I move the light across

10:01

the river, Another large splash

10:03

occurred just outside the light

10:05

beam. I could see the wave that the

10:07

splash made and was thinking that

10:09

this may not be a fish.

10:12

Thinking it could be some other kind of river

10:14

animal like a beaver or muskrat, I

10:16

move the light to the location of the second

10:18

splash. And see any type of

10:20

animal or even a fish.

10:22

What I did see at that spot was a

10:24

large boulder landing in

10:26

the water. The boulder was about the

10:28

size of a car battery and probably

10:30

weighed about eighty pounds. I

10:32

asked my friend in whispered tones,

10:34

where did that come from? 309

10:36

he responded with, I don't

10:39

know. I kept running the

10:41

light and starting to look across the

10:43

river. Across the river was a bunch of

10:45

bush like trees with thick foliage,

10:47

about twelve feet high. If

10:49

someone had thrown that boulder through those trees,

10:51

we would have heard the crash of breaking

10:53

branches and seen the debris in the

10:55

river. Realizing this

10:57

boulder was probably thrown over the

10:59

trees I started to get freaked out. I

11:01

then told my friend, I think

11:03

someone or something doesn't

11:05

want us here. As I

11:07

said that, I was shining the light to the top of

11:09

the trees 309 I watched another

11:12

boulder come over the top and

11:14

splash into the river. We jumped

11:16

up and grabbed our poles. Our chairs

11:18

and other items were left next to the river

11:20

as we ran for the truck and got the

11:22

hell out of there. My

11:24

friend went back the next day to get the chairs and

11:26

other items. The food was

11:28

missing, but the chairs

11:30

were still there. Something

11:32

to note is that my great uncle saw

11:34

a Sasquatch in that canyon in the early

11:36

eighties. He had a cast of a

11:38

print and some hair that he believes to be

11:40

SaaS There have been

11:42

other sightings of sasquatch from other

11:44

people in Northern Utah, but

11:46

most stay quiet or tell the

11:48

story to close friends. And

11:51

people that they can trust. They

11:53

don't put it out on the news or

11:55

anything like that. We have

11:57

large mountain ranges here in Utah with

11:59

lots of wilderness that hasn't been

12:01

deeply explored. It could

12:03

easily be a place where

12:06

could live.

12:07

Thanks for reading my story, Nick, and

13:05

next odd experience comes to us

13:07

from Aaron, and Aaron's

13:09

report is called real

13:11

or false memory in the woods.

13:15

309 says, hello. The

13:17

podcast is great. I love hearing

13:19

others experiences. And most of

13:21

them sound genuine. I have

13:23

listened to most of the episodes, but I

13:25

tend to focus on the forest related

13:28

ones. As an outdoorsman, I know

13:30

that nature is even more fantastic

13:32

than it looks. As for paranormal,

13:34

I am a believer. However, I

13:36

don't seek it out. So most of the

13:38

time, my life is rooted in the

13:40

world of the explained. I

13:42

wanna share a disturbing experience I

13:44

had when I was three years old.

13:46

I have no explanation, so

13:48

I dubbed the experience as

13:50

a false memory. In

13:53

about the center of Michigan, my

13:55

family owns twenty five acres that back

13:57

up to one hundred acres of state

13:59

land. It gives the illusion

14:01

of no man's land. For aside

14:03

from the cabin, there is just the

14:05

sounds of nature. From the cabin

14:08

across the dirt road is the remainder of

14:10

our property, and it is this

14:12

lot that borders the state land. As

14:14

a family, we would take lots of

14:16

hikes. So on a fall day, we

14:18

did just that. This

14:20

memory is very vivid to me. I am

14:22

going to account in full detail.

14:25

Then afterwards, you will

14:27

see how strange it is.

14:29

We set off my mom,

14:31

dad, and I. 309 the cabin,

14:33

we crossed the road and walked through

14:35

our lot onto state land.

14:38

We hiked up a hill and followed

14:40

that ridge on the hike. My

14:42

family made small talk as we walked the

14:44

clear trail. My mom was

14:46

messing with me as there was a large

14:48

mound of sand, which she claimed

14:50

was a bare den. However, I didn't

14:52

buy it, and we hiked

14:54

on. My parents had a

14:56

destination in mind, so our course

14:58

led us to a trailer in the middle of

15:00

the woods. My parents knocked on the

15:02

door and a tall man opened

15:04

it, but I do not remember his

15:06

face. The man wore blue

15:08

overalls and a flannel shirt.

15:10

He had a big black dog. We

15:12

went inside the trailer. Mom and

15:14

dad talked with the man while I played

15:16

and petted his dog. After

15:18

some time, we left, making it

15:21

back to our cabin before dark.

15:23

We then ate dinner and I was

15:25

put to bed. Now,

15:27

I swear on whatever is worth swearing

15:29

on that this event happened in my

15:31

life. However, nobody

15:33

else remembers that. My

15:35

parents claim this never happened. I

15:37

have recreated this hike many

15:39

times, and there is absolutely no

15:41

trailer with that man and dog to

15:43

be found. After

15:45

this hike, I lost the ability

15:47

to walk. We were up by a

15:50

lake in walking distance from the cabin

15:52

where I fell. My legs

15:54

quit working. My parents rushed

15:56

me to the and I was

15:58

diagnosed with post viral in

16:00

309, whatever that is. And in time,

16:03

I had to relearn how to walk. I

16:05

do not remember losing my ability

16:07

to walk, but I do remember the

16:09

hike that nobody else remembers,

16:12

clearest day. There is

16:14

no clear trail on that state

16:16

land. It is all thick bush, particularly

16:18

on that ridge. It's not somewhere that

16:20

you would be 309 with a three year old.

16:23

Also, at that time period, my

16:25

brother was an infant. There was no way that

16:27

my mom would leave a baby in the cabin

16:29

alone while we hiked.

16:31

So what happened here? Did my brain create

16:33

a false memory? And if so,

16:35

why? Or did this happen?

16:37

And everyone else just forgot.

16:40

It just trips me out. If anyone has

16:42

any input on this, please pass it

16:44

on. Thanks for reading if you

16:46

do, and be sure to take

16:48

it easy. Thanks.

16:51

After reading Aaron's experience, I

16:53

reached back out with some questions in order to

16:55

clarify some details. I asked

16:57

Biren if there had been any issues with losing

16:59

consciousness during this time period,

17:02

perhaps while in the forest or even in the

17:04

ERI was trying to rule out

17:06

anything that might explain the theory of

17:08

this being nothing more than a false

17:10

memory. I also wanted to verify that

17:12

Aaron indeed had zero memory of losing

17:14

the ability to 309, as

17:16

well as the rehabilitation period.

17:18

I'm also aware that certain infections can

17:20

affect the brain and cause someone to

17:22

lose their memory or even hallucinate.

17:25

However, not only did Aaron's

17:27

response answer my questions, but it

17:29

lends credibility to the notion that

17:31

this is much more than just a

17:33

false memory. This is what

17:35

Aaron had to say. Yes,

17:37

I have no memory of

17:39

losing the ability to walk or

17:41

relearning how to walk. They

17:43

said that it took a month to rehabilitate.

17:46

No, I never lost consciousness.

17:48

My parents said that I was actually

17:50

happy and unaware of my condition.

17:52

Or that not being able to walk

17:54

didn't bother me. How my

17:56

folks explain this is weird. One

17:59

moment I was running around and the next

18:01

I just couldn't walk and I was crawling. The

18:03

incident freaked out my parents who

18:05

still mention it from time to

18:07

time. I remember the walk to the

18:09

trailer vividly and to

18:11

be honest, it is one of my only memories from this time

18:14

period. I'm twenty six now 309 I can't

18:16

wrap my head around it, and

18:18

I've discuss this openly with my family and even my

18:20

friends. Trust me, this experience makes

18:22

no sense to me. And as a person,

18:24

I am labeled as rational.

18:28

This false memory is so ingrained in

18:30

me and I just wonder why

18:32

or is it even false? When

18:34

I 309 told this event to my brother recently

18:36

while we were at the cabin, his

18:38

girlfriend told me that she had a dream

18:40

the night prior. This is what

18:43

she dreamt. Quote,

18:45

I was in the woods across the street.

18:47

I went to a similar trailer.

18:50

Inside was a man in overalls

18:52

and a flannel, his skin

18:54

was gray, and he told me that

18:56

I shouldn't be there. So

18:59

I laughed. Unquote. What

19:01

she recounted was weird to me,

19:03

so I decided to include it.

19:06

Take it easy. Aaron. PS.

19:09

My legs were not

19:10

paralyzed. I just couldn't

19:13

walk. Weird stuff.

19:16

As we come to

19:18

the end of the ninth edition of from

19:20

the forest, I'd like to thank 309.

19:24
