Hi, I'm Matt and I'm Brad. This is park Landia

0:05

production of I Heart Radio. We sold our

0:07

loft in Chicago, moved into an RV,

0:09

and now we're talking the country full time with our dog

0:12

Finn, exploring America's national parks.

0:15

And today we're really excited to bring

0:17

to you our first episode of

0:19

Traveling Eats with Matt. Yes,

0:21

I'm so excited. So this

0:24

is a little kind of mini bonus

0:26

episode series inspired by

0:29

you know, how obsessed and interested

0:32

I am in restaurants and food. That's how

0:34

I started as a professional writer, mostly with

0:36

a food focus. So this has been something

0:38

I've been at least

0:40

interested in for a long time

0:42

since I was in culinary school in Chicago. So

0:45

it's an important piece for when we're traveling

0:48

and wherever we are, for in a city, a town, around

0:51

a national park. I always put a lot

0:53

of effort into researching

0:56

great local restaurants or check out bars,

0:58

whether it's from a historical perspe active or just

1:00

like getting a local taste of

1:03

that culture of that region. So and

1:05

I love reaping the benefits of this. Yeah,

1:08

totally. Yeah. So I can't

1:10

think of a better topic to start

1:12

with than Disney World, because

1:14

not only do we talk about Disney World a

1:16

ton and reference it on the podcast,

1:19

but you and I are fresh

1:21

off just about three months

1:23

of staying right near

1:25

Disney and spending a lot of time there.

1:28

So we were there for the duration

1:30

of Epcot Food and Wine. You were working

1:33

at it, and

1:35

that was from August through

1:38

November. Good chunk

1:40

of time. But we arrived before ours. Right now, we were there

1:42

for like a hundred days. Yes, we're like a

1:44

third of year, almost a yeah, fourth

1:47

of year, over a fourth of a year, right, which

1:49

is I mean, I can't think of a better place to spend that

1:51

much time than Disney World. So

1:53

at this point I

1:56

have especially eaten my way around

1:58

all the parks and beyond. Yes,

2:01

I can definitely speak to it, and I want

2:03

to start by clarifying that this

2:05

is not about Orlando. Orlando and Disney

2:07

World are they get lumped in together there

2:10

frequently kind of synonymous, but they

2:13

are totally different places. They're eight

2:15

twenty miles apart. It's a thirty dollar lift ride

2:18

to get from one to the other. I can attest to that because

2:20

you've done it multiple times a week, because you

2:22

wanted to try the differences between

2:25

Disney World and Orlando and just

2:27

experience the whole culture, and

2:30

they're so different. In Orlando's dining

2:32

seems incredible, So I don't want to

2:34

blur them all together here. That's actually

2:36

deserved to have itsone episode later. But this

2:38

is all about Disney World, which contrary

2:41

to what a lot of people might think, it's

2:43

not all Mickey shaped pretzels and tiros

2:46

and stuff like that. There are plenty of those, and

2:48

they're delicious, but Disney

2:51

World has so much to offer, and I

2:53

was delighted by our

2:55

experience here and the different

2:57

restaurants and kind of food

2:59

stall at the parks, and then Disney

3:02

Springs and even some of the hotels

3:04

have great dining options as well, which

3:06

are all destination worthy. So

3:09

I think it makes the most sense to divvy

3:12

this little episode into

3:14

the different parks, Magic Kingdom, Animal

3:16

Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios,

3:18

because that's obviously where we spent

3:21

the bulk of our time, and then also adding in Disney

3:23

Springs. We can't Yeah, that was

3:25

a huge, pleasant surprise, obsessed to that place.

3:28

But I want to talk about the best food

3:30

options and highlights at each park, starting

3:33

with the main the most iconic

3:35

one Magic Kingdom, and I'm starting

3:37

with that because it's my least favorite for food,

3:40

so it's only going to go up for here Magic

3:42

Kingdom. I have some issues. I love

3:45

it, it's the most nostalgia. It's probably my favorite park

3:47

for like rides in nostalgia. But the

3:49

food it's just not nearly

3:51

as kind of amazing as the other three.

3:54

It's it seems a little dated or

3:56

a lot dated. And the

4:00

lack of bars is an issue.

4:03

Right. They make it drink everywhere so

4:06

difficult anywhere. They make it really hard, and

4:08

unlike the other three parks, which like

4:11

have alcohol everywhere like coffee

4:13

shops have it and magicing, that makes

4:15

it really like annoyingly difficult, which

4:17

is aggravating because it's the most crowded and

4:20

if I'm going to be like, you know, bouncing

4:22

my way through a sea of strollers and

4:24

waiting in line for two hours, like the least they

4:27

could do is not make it impossible to

4:29

get a beer exactly. But no, and

4:32

not only that, but they have places with

4:35

names that sound like bars, like guest On Tavern

4:37

and the Enchanted Tiki Room that's sound like

4:39

bars, but they're not so it's misleading. Um,

4:42

So with that out of the way,

4:46

way too much right now, right, there

4:48

are some gems here. I think the

4:50

best full service restaurant is

4:53

Skipper's Canteen. The full name is

4:55

Jungle Navigation Company Skipper's Canteen.

4:57

It's the restaurant or

5:00

by and inspired by the Jungle Cruise ride,

5:02

which is great. We did. Yeah,

5:04

we had to wait for like an hour for a lunch seating,

5:07

but it was worth it. The food is really good,

5:09

and the full service restaurants at Magic Kingdom

5:11

are also the only places where you can get alcohol,

5:14

so keep that in mind. But

5:17

this place was one to reply that had. It had a

5:19

really fun, like jungle track vibe.

5:21

The people who worked there were really into

5:23

it, like NonStop jokes and

5:26

like quirky jungle references and stuff

5:28

like that. A lot of fun. And

5:30

then the food is really adventurous, like you're like

5:32

on a you know, jungle journey, with

5:35

pretty eclectic dishes like corn

5:38

pancakes with beer braised pork and

5:41

pepper salsa and avocado cream. Loved

5:43

they were kind of like open face sliders with

5:45

corn pancakes. So good, absolutely

5:48

delicious. Right, and then we had Brazilian cheese bread

5:51

ye favorite, and then shrimp

5:53

dumplings as well. I think there are pork

5:56

and shrimp dumplings um So we had

5:58

like an array of snacks and some line

6:00

and it was really yummy. So I would recommend

6:02

that make reservations for that one if you can, because

6:04

it is popular. And then

6:07

the other kind of main iconic

6:09

dining destination and magic kingdom

6:11

is b our Guest, which is

6:13

the Beating the Beast restaurant. It's inside

6:16

the Beating the Beast Castle in Fantasyland,

6:19

and that was very hard to get into. It took me like two

6:21

months to get a reservation for

6:24

just me. And

6:26

even when you have a reservation, you're waiting in line, like

6:29

meandering through the castle making your order,

6:31

finding a seat. And

6:33

I think most of the charm here, for all

6:35

the charm is the like just

6:38

the ambiance because it's very

6:40

theatrical and regal. Obviously you're

6:42

in a castle in the dining rooms

6:44

are gorgeous, so are

6:46

Nate. There are three different dining spaces you can

6:48

dine in, like the the like kind of

6:51

West Wing or whatever. We're Yeah, it's

6:54

like dark and ominous with

6:56

the rose and then there's like the

6:58

ballroom and then there's the like

7:00

main dining room where a bell gets serenaded in

7:02

the movie, and I sat in the ballroom,

7:05

which I thought was the prettiest and

7:07

most lavish. The food is

7:09

like French Ish. It's

7:12

like French American because the movie takes

7:14

place in France, even though no one speaks French in

7:16

the movie. My favorite part though, was they

7:19

have this cupcake basically

7:21

it's like a chocolate cupcake and

7:23

they call it the gray Stuff, like from

7:26

the movie. Lumier's like, try the gray Stuff.

7:28

It's delicious, and it's

7:30

basically just like a gray colored butter cream

7:33

frosting, which doesn't look great, like it's

7:35

gray. It's not an appealing flavor or a thing

7:37

you want to eat, but it was great. It was my

7:39

favorite part of the meal for sure, the Gray

7:42

Stuff. It was delicious. And

7:45

the other thing that I think I

7:48

really enjoyed eating at Magic Kingdom was

7:51

there they have this like spring roll

7:53

stall, which when

7:55

I was there was stationed kind

7:57

of permanently right by the entrance to

7:59

it entry land, and they

8:02

do spring rolls filled with things like cheeseburger

8:05

and pepperoni pizza and

8:07

really yummy. Yeah, so you get to pre order and it's

8:10

a good light on the go snack,

8:13

and I thought it was shockingly

8:15

good. I didn't try them until like we were already there for

8:17

two months and I was like, what have I been wasting my time?

8:20

My favorite meal? Magic Kingdom

8:23

are still the Mickey Years? You still

8:26

well Magic Kingdom. They don't set a very very far

8:28

with foods, so years it's

8:30

not the same for every part for me as well. So

8:34

that's Magic Kingdom. We'll

8:36

leave that there and then moving

8:38

on to another kingdom, Animal

8:40

Kingdom.

8:43

It's a great park. It's beautifully

8:45

designed. The ambiance in all the different

8:47

sections like Africa and Asia

8:50

and the dinosaur land phenomenal.

8:53

It's all beautifully done. And the food

8:55

and drinks I think match that

8:58

as well that they put a lot of effort into

9:00

it and it looks good, tastes great. So

9:03

when you're going to ann walking them, the first thing

9:05

you should do is make a bee line to Creature

9:08

Comforts, which is basically

9:10

a decked out Starbucks. It is a Starbucks but kind

9:12

of wrapped to look like this individual

9:14

like Jungly place. You've

9:17

got to get your morning coffee, right, I gotta get coffee.

9:19

Yeah, so do that first and

9:21

then later in the day,

9:23

I think for lunch. My favorite place is

9:26

in the Pandora section, the newer section

9:28

of the park where the Avatar ride is. Yeah,

9:30

so I'm not sharpen. It' Sutulli

9:33

Canteen. It's right outside

9:35

like the main attraction. They're the main

9:37

rid there multiple times to get loved it.

9:39

It was so good. So it's like customizable

9:42

balls. Essentially, you pick your base,

9:45

pick your protein sauce, and

9:47

then go from there where you get like

9:49

a whole platter for sixty eight people for

9:52

which is a great price when you think about it, because

9:55

it has all of those different meats and proteins

9:58

and you know all that. Yes, so

10:01

you can get noodles, you can get rice. My favorite

10:03

is getting the hardy salad as a base because

10:05

it is it's like very nurishing, very hard to get,

10:07

like broccoli and cauliflower and like

10:09

leafy greens. And then weirdly

10:12

they add boba, like popping boba pearls

10:15

on top of it. Okay, but it

10:18

kind of works, I guess. And then

10:20

I like the wood grilled chicken

10:23

because then they give you a lot of it. The portion is like

10:25

very generous, and then pair

10:27

that with one of their green

10:29

beers. It's like green bluish

10:32

and it's somewhat hoppy. It's kind of like an I p

10:34

A, which is my favorite. So it basically

10:36

their avatar beer. And

10:39

that's so that restaurants and must and

10:41

then for something like

10:43

in the evening, the

10:46

cocktails and snacks at the Nomad

10:48

Lounge are fantastic. Love

10:51

the Nomad around UM.

10:53

That's where I first met Chef Al who

10:55

was the Um executive

10:58

chef for Tiffins and mad

11:00

and uh, that's where our maple

11:02

syrup was featured at burns Maywood Farms.

11:05

When we got to go there, that was my first time going to Disney.

11:08

It was your first experience and it

11:10

was and it was such one of those like immersive

11:13

experiences. But they're just they

11:15

have so many amazing things in Animal Kingdom.

11:17

And ever since then, Chef l has

11:19

been promoted to Food and

11:21

Beverage Director over Upcot and he does

11:24

all the things in up concluding food and wine

11:26

and festivals and all that fun stuff, and so it's

11:28

just really amazing too to

11:31

see how you know, he was promoted

11:33

within the company, but I

11:36

know, this is a very large

11:38

side track from what's really important.

11:41

The food and cocktails at No Mad Lounge. Yeah,

11:43

they're they're definitely noteworthy. They

11:45

have really solid drinks, really good food. We always

11:47

get the like Brad service and it's

11:49

like this tray

11:52

impressed. Yeah, different Brads

11:54

inspired by different countries across the world. They have

11:56

like an Indian pancake, like

11:58

flat Brad. The best is the

12:00

pomegranate focaccia, so tasty,

12:03

and then it's served with these different like chutneys

12:05

and sauces and yogurts.

12:07

So great. I could just go here have that

12:09

in some cocktails. Yeah, that's spicy coriander

12:12

yogurt is so good, especially when

12:14

you mix it with that tomato chutney. Yeah,

12:16

that's it's a good idea to mix and then like

12:19

kind of customize each bite because

12:21

why not. And then the cocktails are

12:23

really good too. They're all like each They have different

12:26

sections of the many. There's like the Asia section, there's

12:29

cocktails inspired by Africa, so it kind of mimics

12:31

the layout of the park too. And you have drinks

12:33

like the Night Monkey, which has dark brom

12:35

guava, pure coffee syrup,

12:37

lime juice and cilantro. Kind of a

12:39

wild mix of flavors there, but

12:42

we're beautifully yeah, very

12:44

good. And then right next door to the Nomad

12:46

Lounge is the more formal, full

12:48

service restaurant called Tiffins,

12:50

So it's all kind of in the same building. Nomad

12:53

Lounge is more casual bar side

12:55

with a nice patiom or nice deck, and

12:57

then Tiffins is where we most

13:00

recently ate here on our anniversary. That's

13:03

right. We did our anniversaries fully

13:05

packed with multiple parks. Yeah, we're

13:07

park hopping. And then this is where we ended the day

13:09

with dinner Tiffins. So you get kind

13:11

of a more expanded version of the offerings

13:14

that Nomad Lounge, and that's drink

13:16

wise also food wise,

13:18

so you have like really intricate,

13:20

impressive dishes like falafel with

13:23

mint pistachio pasto, and we

13:25

had charted octopus with thereso and that

13:28

right there was to die

13:30

for. And the good thing is this is

13:32

included on the Disney Dining Plan if you're

13:34

going there on a vacation. We weren't. We weren't,

13:37

but um, you know you can. You can definitely

13:39

make reservations here. Yeah, So

13:41

Tiffin's excellent. If you want kind of the

13:44

classy, full service dining experience,

13:46

I think it's worth one of the past, and like

13:48

all of Disney World, and then

13:51

moving on from Animal Kingdom, there's Hollywood

13:53

Studios, which is another place I hold

13:55

near and dear to Minustalter Cart, I love

13:57

it there and a few places

14:00

is really capture that nostalgia

14:02

and American e quite like the Hollywood Brown Derby,

14:05

which so great. We went there. That was the very

14:07

first thing we did when we got our like Disney passes.

14:10

Yeah, we just went in the bottom were

14:12

like, well we should just go right and it was like two hours

14:14

before the park closed or three hours before the park closed,

14:16

and it was perfect. We made a mad dash

14:19

to the Brown Derby. It's just like gorgeous,

14:21

like old, like I don't know, nineteen

14:23

twenties Hollywood style restaurant with

14:26

like framed photos or like they're

14:28

probably fake photos because there's thousands

14:30

of them here. And it's this big

14:32

like dec in and dining room with

14:35

great food. We have like Cobbs salads and

14:38

scallops and stuff like that, and

14:41

martinis, excellent martinis. You can get them

14:44

into Flight Forward table side recommended.

14:46

Yeah, Manhattan's solid, like really

14:48

solid Manhattan's and

14:51

it's wonderful, so do that. Also

14:54

for something more casual, if you just wanted a drink

14:56

and a snack or something, there's Baseline Tap

14:59

House and they have all

15:01

California inspired stuff. All

15:03

they have an impressive roster of California beers

15:05

on tap as well as California

15:08

wines on tap. And then even a couple

15:10

of cocktails, yes, like a margharita,

15:12

and then those change and rotate, I think they all do,

15:14

but it's mostly beer. They even have a cider,

15:17

and then they have snacks like charcrudi in

15:20

a pretzel. So not really

15:22

a meal type place, but great to get a drink on the

15:24

go. And then right next door

15:26

to that, another like

15:28

whimsical, wonderful place we went as

15:30

well is the Sci Fi Dine in Theater.

15:33

That was such an immersive experience and the

15:35

experiences that you feel that all these are different.

15:37

Like the Brown Derby, you feel royal and regal. You

15:40

know, Baseline Tap it's just like cool and breezy

15:42

like California. When you get

15:44

to this one, you just you immerse him

15:47

into a d in the Yeah, I felt

15:49

like a kid again, because I remember going here as

15:51

a kid. It's like this outdoor

15:54

drive in theater vibe with like twinkling stars

15:56

all over the ceiling and then black white movies. So

15:59

I exactly like a child,

16:01

except a child who drinks Pinot

16:04

griccio because and

16:07

by the bottle. Yeah right, it

16:09

was great. So make a reservation there

16:12

because they're all like little cars. You

16:14

like literally sit in these like kind of fake cars,

16:17

which totally as to the ambience, and

16:19

those are popular, unsurprisingly, so they tend

16:21

to fill up. And then the other highlight

16:24

at Hollywood Studios more recently

16:26

is the Star Wars section called um

16:29

Galaxy's Edge that opened

16:31

like a few days after we arrived to Disney World,

16:33

so it's still knew.

16:35

I went on opening day. Yeah, you're

16:37

crazy. That was insane, big mistake, honestly,

16:40

Like I thought it would be fun and

16:42

like an experience to do that on an opening day and

16:45

five lines. Twenty years from now, when

16:47

you forget about the lines, you'll be like I was there on open

16:50

and you'll brag about it, and it was fun. I

16:52

did like very little things because I

16:55

I can only wait in like one five hour line. I'm

16:57

not going to do other things, but it

16:59

was cool to see. They did a great job with the design

17:02

of the land here. And in

17:04

addition to the ride, they

17:06

have some really interesting and

17:09

inventive dining options like Milkstand.

17:11

Milkstand, that's it. That's

17:13

just like such a creamy, beautiful

17:17

cocktail. So they're kind of like they're not milkshakes.

17:19

They're more like rice, so it's dairy free.

17:21

They're made with a rice milk base, and

17:24

they're kind of like rice milk smoothies. One

17:26

is green, one is blue. Those are the only

17:28

two options on the menu. You can get the blue milk

17:30

of the green milk one. I think

17:32

the green is like more kind of tropical flavor.

17:35

The blue has more of a coconut kind

17:37

of creaminess. And ones with Raman

17:39

Watche tequila, right you you can add that,

17:41

yeah, and I would

17:43

recommend that. And then across

17:45

the way from Milkstand is the much

17:48

more popular um bar that

17:51

is difficult to get into because it's so popular.

17:53

It's called Oga's Cantina. Yes,

17:56

so great, it's really fun. It's um We did this

17:59

on our anniversary. We did we started our day

18:01

here. We went to the cantina and had rum

18:03

cocktails at six thirty in the morning, because

18:06

that's should we tell people that. I mean, I mean, that's

18:08

just like, yeah, but when you walk in,

18:10

it feels like this party and you walk

18:13

into this cave and then it's all dark

18:15

and lively, like a canteena from the

18:17

Star Wars movies, you know, bursting with

18:19

life and energy, and there's like a DJ. There's

18:21

a DJ. There's a DJ at six thirty. So if

18:23

the DJs here were so with the cocktails.

18:26

And that was the first time in my life, hopefully

18:28

the last time that I had cocktails with

18:31

oatmeal. Yeah. That

18:33

was rough, that was but

18:36

it was delicious. I mean, I'm not gonna

18:39

our our whole. Like breakfast

18:42

meal was really expensive,

18:44

very expensive. It was the most expensive breakfast

18:47

and the weirdest breakfast. But

18:50

we got tiki mugs and things like that.

18:53

Yeah, the first edition. Yes,

18:55

oh yeah. I was able to go

18:57

back, like a month or two later and

19:00

go here at a normal hour and have drinks

19:02

when it's socially acceptable to do so. And

19:05

when I did that, I got this really epic beer flight

19:07

and you try I think it's four or five different

19:09

beers and they're serving this gorgeous

19:11

and really like elaborate wooden

19:14

fixture with what's meant to be

19:16

like alien teeth

19:18

or something as the almost the

19:21

glass work. Yeah, so they used the two the teeth

19:23

to pour the beer into and you drink out of that, and then it's

19:25

a souvenir. You get to keep the whole thing. It weighs

19:28

like thirty pounds. I mean it sound like it was cheap

19:30

either you bought it. Now

19:35

you've been listening to park Landia. We'll be right

19:37

back after this break.

19:46

Hi, I'm Matt and I'm Brad. This is Parklandia,

19:49

and today we're talking about all the great

19:51

food and drink at Disney World in Florida.

19:53

So that's Hollywood Studios. And then the big

19:55

one for dining of all the parks is

19:58

absolutely Epcot. Yeah, this

20:00

is the place where you dine around the world, drink

20:02

around the world, and it's

20:05

amazing and enthralling, and

20:08

so many of the restaurants are legitimately wonderful.

20:10

And spent eighty seven days here almost

20:14

all of them there. And

20:16

I got to go to a lot of like you know, for lunches.

20:18

I went out and grabbed things and then we went back

20:20

multiple times, but I would say that you went

20:22

here more than any other part easily. Yeah,

20:25

And it's just like probably my favorite part

20:27

because as an adult they have much more things

20:30

oriented for that and foods

20:32

and culture, food history.

20:34

So here are my like kind of quick hit

20:37

favorites at Epcot for dining and drinking.

20:39

There's a great buffet

20:41

at Beer Garden restaurant in Germany, so

20:44

much for you can go nuts. And then I

20:47

would recommend getting full beer poores at Block

20:49

and Hans. In the America section, yes,

20:51

like my favorite Kentucky bourbon barrel ale

20:54

beer. Yes, they also have I p A. Even

20:56

they have Goose Island another

21:00

options. It was meant for me,

21:02

that whole thing. That's a good one. I guess I'm just plainly

21:04

American. So

21:07

that's the best thing for for beer, I think. And

21:10

then the Mexico section is really

21:12

solid. They have this place inside

21:14

this big pyramid called La Cava del

21:16

Tequila, so it's there like dark,

21:19

cozy, little tequila cave, great mescal

21:21

selection and tequila, and

21:24

they have things like mescalin and grownies and

21:26

a whole variety of margaritas, including

21:29

like Avocada margarita is nice and creamy

21:31

and a little sweet delicious,

21:34

and then heaping platters of chips and sausa

21:37

and guacamole. Very generous. Don't

21:39

start here though, because you will

21:41

you won't get a little bit buzzy yeah, because

21:43

they are beautifully done heavy cocktails,

21:46

so make sure to do that in the middle or towards the end

21:48

of your trip, right. I

21:51

would also recommend getting Scotch eggs

21:53

and black and tans and

21:55

or maybe fish and chips or something at the Rose

21:58

and Crown Pub in the UK. Every

22:00

time we had to go there. That place is just fantastic.

22:03

I'm obsessed with the decor and everything in

22:05

the UK section here. It's really wonderful.

22:08

And then also we

22:10

love getting charcouderie and cheese and wine

22:12

flights at Tudou Gusto Wine Cellar

22:14

in Italy. That was charming and just

22:17

really really fun. It's snacks

22:19

beautiful, and

22:22

I also love the Nigerian meat pies, which

22:24

is from this like Africa section in

22:27

the park. They didn't have like a full service restaurant

22:29

there, but it's like this casual walk up counter

22:31

where you can get Nigerian meat pies. They also

22:34

have like a dessert of some sort At the time it was a

22:36

lion king themed pancotta. But I

22:39

wasn't really feeling that I missed food and wine. I

22:41

know, so food and wine that I mean, that's

22:43

a whole thing in and of itself. It's

22:46

just like nearly three month long festival

22:48

where it's Epcot, just like times

22:51

a hundred because they bring in like

22:53

thirty eight additional boost for

22:55

food and snacks and they're all like

22:58

snack like bites at like prais like

23:00

five average. But

23:02

it's good because like each you and the other person

23:04

that you're with, hopefully um you can

23:06

eat you like get a good bite and like good taste

23:09

of that. It's a really good place to go share things.

23:11

Right. So in addition to all this wonderful stuff that's there

23:13

year round, all these restaurants, they

23:15

add all these other countries

23:17

with these many kind of smaller stands, everything

23:20

from like Australia to Thailand to

23:23

what like Brazil, Belgium.

23:26

It's a it's a lot all are and it's they're kind

23:28

of situaated scattered all over the global

23:30

the World Pavilion here, World Showcase. And

23:33

my favorites from Food and Wine were the

23:35

chicken tkaraakey boal bunds from

23:38

the Japan, the Brazilian

23:40

cheese bread from Brazil the

23:43

I love. There's the charcuterie and like

23:45

cheese cones from Spain. Great

23:49

and I just did not get a chance to trick. There

23:52

was Escargo croissans from France, which

23:54

also gets points for being the craziest,

23:57

but it was good. It was like garlicy. They had like this or

24:00

pesto thing on topple for it. Yeah. Then

24:03

boozy mangolosses from India

24:06

and they spiked that with Chila core which

24:08

is so yummy and creamy

24:10

and just the perfect amount of spice. And

24:13

then Hummus fries from Morocco, which

24:16

was really interesting as well. They really are.

24:18

Those were beautiful and they're like thick

24:21

fries almost like cheese

24:23

takes. Yeah, they were. They were like more like but

24:26

French fries. Beautiful. So

24:29

that's Opcot. That's Epcot Food and Wine.

24:32

And then, like we mentioned, the

24:34

real surprise stunner here of all this is

24:37

Disney Springs, which I had not done prior

24:39

to going here this time. And this

24:42

is not one of the parts. It's part of Disney

24:44

World. It's more of like the shopping, dining,

24:47

retail place with like a movie theater and bowling

24:49

alley. It's near Act. They used to be called Downtown

24:52

Disney and now it's Disney Springs

24:54

because it is. It's it's more uplifted,

24:57

a lot more great like restaurants and coffinomenal,

25:00

a lot of our friends, Chef Art Smith, Rick

25:02

bayliss Um, these

25:04

amazing Chicago

25:06

based chefs and restaurants are

25:10

here. So good. Yeah, and it's huge.

25:12

It's the sprawling shopping

25:14

and dining complex. And we've been

25:16

multiple times and didn't even go to like a quarter of

25:19

the places here, probably, but it's

25:21

wonderful and we loved so

25:23

much of it. We we I think our favorite is probably

25:25

Homecoming, which was Art Smith. We've been there

25:28

five times. You just leave there with your soul full. Yeah,

25:30

and it's like Southern comfort, deliciousness

25:33

in a really beautiful building. And Chef

25:35

Art he used to be Oprah's um private

25:38

chef and so now he knows

25:40

what he's bringing that good food to the world

25:43

and it's just a really inspiring place to go. Um

25:45

and there's we went. When so many people people

25:48

came Intomtown, we said we got to go here here

25:50

getting fried chicken, deviled eggs, and hummingbird

25:53

cake, all of it. That was a good one.

25:55

I also loved this like

25:58

wild place called the Addis in this like sprawling

26:01

two story restaurant and bar that's

26:04

like has a steampunk vibe

26:06

and it's just insane. They have

26:08

like theatrical components and people

26:10

doing acrobatics from the ceiling and then like employees

26:14

here just randomly walking around on stilts. For

26:17

it was such a wonderful experience

26:19

to go there. It is great cocktails,

26:21

yes, innovative for innovative

26:23

cocktails, which are right up our alley, so good

26:26

for that. And then we also

26:28

loved this place called the Polite Pig, which

26:30

is more casual. It gets

26:33

it gets hopping like later in the evening, so go

26:35

for lunch or like an early dinner. So

26:37

it's barbecue and they have great

26:40

like pulled pork and brisket and

26:43

like barbecue glaze, fried chicken sandwiches

26:45

and stuff like that. But the real winner

26:48

is probably the best Manhattan cocktail

26:50

we had a Disney World was solid

26:53

and delicious, and I would go there just

26:55

to sit at the bar and have absolutely snack

26:57

on some fried chicken sliders or

26:59

some like that. That's a good way to go. And

27:02

then I think the last one to shout

27:04

out that was noteworthy that we loved

27:06

was this place called Enzo's Hideaway. This

27:09

like tunnel they called a tunnel bar. It's

27:11

this kind of under quasi

27:14

underground Italian speakeasy

27:18

or you know, it kind of looks like if

27:20

Olive Garden was to speakeasy, but like the food

27:22

the way better, like negrons

27:25

and the wine, grape wine selection,

27:28

cheeseboards, stuff like that, but again

27:30

wildly popular. We tried to go back with my sister

27:32

and they were like it'll be two hours. We're

27:35

like, never mind, And did you mention from taro? Oh

27:37

yeah, bay cannot forget Rick

27:39

Bayless's restaurant. And what's really cool

27:41

is when I was working in Farmers Market to Chicago

27:44

and when we were going to different restaurants, you

27:46

know, we really met Greg and Leah

27:48

gunthorpe Um and they

27:50

actually provide Rick with

27:53

their terso um the

27:55

special trees are made for Rick and it's

27:58

it's one of the best appetite just on that menu.

28:02

So you definitely have to jump by there and

28:05

enjoy all the delicious foods that Rick

28:07

has. Yeah, so that's these

28:09

are some highlights from here. I was like, as you can

28:12

see, I could just go on and on and on and make really

28:14

a whole podcast about this. But Disney World

28:16

has so much not only to do ride

28:19

wise and attraction wise, but the food at

28:21

all the parks at Disney Springs

28:24

is phenomenal and it's come a long way

28:26

since. I'm sure like when I

28:28

went there as a kid, not that I was like paying much attention

28:31

to that, but it's become

28:33

really like an attraction in and of itself,

28:36

the dining scene and the drinking scene

28:38

at Disney World. And absolutely,

28:40

yes, you should definitely go here and branch out

28:43

from the Mickey Pretzels. Treat

28:45

yourself now again, but like branch

28:47

out because there's a there's

28:49

a whole Disney World of flavor to to

28:51

explore. You've
