In this episode of Path to Me, Peggy shares that after years of feeling resentful towards the broken medical system, and blaming the system for making her fall out of love with the job she always wanted. She was experiencing exhaustion, compassion fatigue, and general unhappiness with life as work-related stress began overflowing into her personal life. She finally got tired of waiting for the system and people to change.

Peggy shares how after following those she finds inspiring online, realizing that even those that seem to have it all together also struggle, she began investing in herself, attending retreats and taking personal development courses. She began to shift her perspective and started taking responsibility for her anger towards the health care system.

Peggy shares the importance of intentionally doing the things that bring you joy every day, taking time to disconnect and move. For her, this looks like a consistent morning and bedtime routine. Peggy advises that this may look a little different for everyone, as long as you do something. Peggy shares that when she first started being intentional, she set reminder alarms in her phone to ensure that she takes the time for herself, that she still has set years into her self-care journey.

Meet Peggy:
A nurse of 30 years, most of that time in the ER, understands the effects of shift work, constant stress, and continual change. She is passionate about helping other nurses navigate the hard stuff of nursing, helping them understand the need to tend to themselves first, restore their energy, work-life harmony, and wellness and stressing the importance of leaving work AT work.

Peggy is also a mentor, speaker, author in She Is Strong And Free II, and adventure seeker who loves the outdoors and travel. She truly believes if you can help another woman elevate her life, creating a ripple of change, it will become a wave that spreads to those around her.

Peggy is creating a community to support nurses to live their best lives on and off shift. Connect with her further
