Do you ever feel like you need a break, but you don’t want to lose your momentum?

So you push yourself to the point of exhaustion, and realize that the quality of your work isn’t worth the work you’re putting in…

As entrepreneurs, it’s easy to get stuck in this trap. We don’t want to waste our time on things that won’t advance our business forward in some way. But we also recognize that if we don’t have a break from our business that it will eventually suffer, and so will we!

In this week’s episode of Patients on Demand, I discuss the importance of spending 80% of your time on your main business, whether it’s your PT practice or other PT business, and 10% of your time on a side hustle.

Now I know what you’re thinking... Why would I spend my free time working? Why not put it into the main business?

There are many benefits to having side ventures that we can work on when we need a break:

  • Diversity--if your main business suffers, you have options
  • Challenges your brain to think in different ways and bring back fresh ideas to your main business
  • Allows you to stay productive and keep momentum going
  • Extra play money that can be reinvested into your main business, your life, your family, etc.

If you allow yourself to find a productive way to take a break, you can find balance in your busy entrepreneurial lifestyle and be able to show up for the full 80% for your main business.
