We've been mulling over whether or not it is okay to sneak a moment of joy right now...

You read that? Sneak...

After years of planning and thinking on it, we finally released the first episode of our podcast only weeks ago, and then we decided to stop because of the murders of black people like #BreonnaTaylor, #TonyMcDade, #GeorgeFloyd , #SeanReed...

As the murders of black people in the US continued and increased, we couldn't fathom laughing, dancing, singing...any of it. Not while our people were being gunned down for all the world to see. How could we? I had moments when I would begin to weep...almost out of nowhere. While cooking...in the shower, in the middle of the night. It was all too much.

The motivation in me to do anything was gone... I didn't want to teach. Talk to my family... Anything. 
**************************************************************************
And then the uprisings started. And in between the sobbing, I felt strengthened in watching my people demand that people listen and look at us. Even outside of the US. And even more strength in seeing non-black poc and people that happen to be white admit their complacency in these injustices as well. 
**************************************************************************
It is not over. I still sob. I still have moments of rage. But I also have motivation and strength to get up and fight in the ways that I can, as much as I can.

Today's episode was prerecorded. "What Would You Do if You Weren't Afraid: Superhero Serum". I hope in listening, black people, you/we unabashedly take a moment to have JOY. However that looks to you.

Moving forward - we will be shifting a bit to use our platform for the betterment of black people in this fight against the injustices. Expect more resources, more support, more enlightenment, and much more resistance in the form of "joy" that we deserve. **************************************************************************
