This podcast is the third in a three-part series on climate change and its effects on the health of the pediatric population. It will cover the difference between mitigation and adaptation strategies, the difference between policy and outreach approaches to climate change, the pertinence of environmental advocacy to healthcare professionals, the various options for environmental advocacy available to healthcare professionals, the value in disaster readiness preparations, the impact of medical practices on the environment, and an approach to initiating policy changes advocating for systematic climate change mitigation. It was created by Stephanie Unrau and Marc Beaudin, third-year medical students at the University of Alberta, in collaboration with Dr. Melanie Lewis, a pediatrician and professor at the University of Alberta.
