A proud native of upstate New York, Teshara Hooks, is elated to be the Assistant Principal of G. James Gholson Middle School. With over 15 years of experience in the field of education at the elementary, middle, an high school levels, Ms. Hooks is a change agent and visionary leader who commits herself to eradicating educational inequity by preparing life-long learners and leaders through high quality teaching, leadership, and a comprehensive education coupled with excellence and superiority.

Ms. Hooks holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Chemistry from Spelman College/Howard University and a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy from Howard University. Throughout her educational journey, Ms. Hooks has successfully served in various capacities to include Mathematics Teacher, Mathematics Department Chair, Curriculum Writer, Program Coordinator, Dean of Evening Programs, Math Coach, Math Specialist, and Title 1 Coordinator to name a few. Through her leadership, Ms. Hooks seeks to encourage, ignite, motivate, and inspire. She looks forward to building teacher capacity and planting and watering seeds of excellence and greatness in teachers, staff, and students as a whole.
