Are you ready to upgrade your health to a new level and do so by learning from experts in the field of lifestyle medicine and plant-based nutrition?

Well, you are in the right place!

Welcome to the Plant-Based DFW podcast weekly show. We are your hosts Dr. Rizwan Bukhari and Maya Acosta. We are the founders of the Plant-Based DFW organization designed to teach and empower people about the benefits of lifestyle medicine. Dr. Riz is a board certified vascular surgeon and is board certified in lifestyle medicine.

Maya is an advocate of plant-based nutrition and passionate about helping others live their best life.

Every week we will feature guests who are either physicians, dietitians, health coaches or chefs who will tell us about their journeys towards becoming plant-based and how they have now helped others.

Every now and then we will feature testimonies by individuals who have seen significant changes in their own lives.

The episodes typically runs between 40-50 minutes and are released early in the week. Sometimes we will also add bonus episodes in Spanish if our guests are bilingual. Our episodes are also added to our YouTube channel. Our website with all that information is www.plantbaseddfwpodcast.com

Lifestyle medicine is the use of evidence-based lifestyle therapeutic approaches, such as a whole food, plant-based diet, regular physical activity, adequate sleep, stress management and avoidance of risky substance abuse, and other non-drug modalities, to treat, oftentimes, reverse and prevent the lifestyle-related, chronic disease that’s all too prevalent.
