This month on Plastic Imagery we decided to focus on labs. How do you find a good lab, what questions should you ask before dropping off film with your hard work on it? Joining us in the discussion is Jake Bouchard. Jake has worked at many labs over the years and gave us the best information he knows on a wide range of topics.
We started with choosing the right lab and how to develop a relationship with the lab that is best for you? Then we got into the nitty gritty of lab work; how they maintain their machines, how often they do test strips and how clean they keep it.
Jake thanks to his deep knowledge gave us a rich explanation of Cross Processing, red scale and pushing/pulling your film and how a photolab handles it. And you heard it here first, Jake was kind enough to explain to us why some labs will refuse to handle your cross processed work.
We would like to thank Jake for his time and his knowledge, you can see his work here and follow him on twitter here.
