French bulldogs. Pugs. Chihuahuas. They are undeniably cute, and increasingly popular in Australia and around the world. They’re everywhere from the local park, to memes, tee-shirts coffee mugs.

Despite these quirky, squishy little faces, these dog breeds often come with a high price tag in terms of their own health and their owner’s wallet.

We also discuss what prospective owners for these breeds, and pets, in general, should consider before they welcome a furry friend into their lives.
