Hi, This is Dr Kelley. I’d like to tell you about PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)
Platelet rich plasma has been used for years for orthopedic surgery to promote healing. It is also being used in combination with fat transfer in order to increase the take of the graft. We are using PRP as a standalone treatment here in the office to treat wrinkles, crepey skin, help with pigment and improve overall tone and texture of the skin.image

So what is PRP? Platelet rich plasma is derived from your own blood. We draw your blood just like you’re having a routine lab test done into a special tube which then filters out the red cells and leaves the white cells and platelets in the plasma layer. When calcium is added to the plasma it causes the platelets to release growth factors which improve tone and texture of the skin. These growth factors stimulate collagen, stimulate elastin production and also help to improve blood flow to the area. We are finding an improvement in crepey skin underneath the eyes. Also seeing an improvement on pores that can be used to help with acne scars and overall rejuvenation of the face.

This usually requires a series of three to four treatments. One treatment every month. And at times the results are similar to the results seen with a more aggressive laser treatment. PRP is natural. It comes from your own blood, however it does not put volume back into areas where there is a lost of volume. So often times, combining PRP with filler can give a better result. PRP can be injected into acne scars and provide a way of stimulating collagen production in those areas without using any more aggressive treatment which may result in post inflammatory hyper pigmentation after the procedure.

So once again, we would like to tell you a little bit more about PRP and let you know if it’s the procedure for you.

Please give us a call at 770-649-0094 or email me at [email protected]

Thank you very much for listening, I look forward to meeting you.
