Roderick Douglas MacDonald was a helicopter engineer, a pilot and eventually sold helicopters. He suffered severe seizures which he tried to hide. Because of his denial , this eventually broke up his marriage. Dano and Andrea’s Mom left with 4 children to raise on her own and work. When the girls were asked who was their main support during this times, they responded their Mamma Mac. After the break up, their Dad traveled from place to place but always keeping in touch. One evening, the family received the dreaded news, their Dad was dead at the age of 49. The girls feel this was the moment that shaped their lives and opened up the rabbit hole.
